Adair Solar Reviews (128)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

When the sales person ([redacted]) came to my house he spoke with my wife and I, he specifically told us that this system would cost us nothing, that there would be no out of pocket costs and that we will be sving money.  This is not true.  We are currently paying over $100/month and [redacted] NEVER told us that we had any out of pocket expenses, in addition we are not saving the money that was shown on the worksheet.  I asked very specific questions to [redacted] and asked very pointed questions.  He showed me the bottom line where it states 0 net monthly out of pocket.  My wife and I feel decieved and mislead by [redacted].  you can look at the worksheet and saee the "savings" that [redacted] wrote down, but that is not how he expalined how he got to the 0 out of pocket.  He specifically told us that between rebates, federal, state and adair that we would not pay a dime.  He DID NOT say that the savings that you are getting is to pay for the system.  It was a bait and switch.  He had us focused on the 0 out of pocket and not how he got there.

Regards,

I have reviewed the letter think we have just a little miss understanding.  I have asked my customer service representative [redacted] to reach out to the customer and explain our referral program.  When we do our quality control inspection after the job is complete we offer $500 for referrals...

that get installed to our customers.  As I reviewed this file I noticed we have paid the customer the rebates as described with our program.  I have also found an additional $750 paid to the customer.  It looks like this extra money paid was a special request by the sales person to pay more than the $500 for the referral program.  We will propose to the customer to withdraw the complaint as we have everything we said we would do.

Adair Paid the customer $750 on 2-20-2014 with check number [redacted], $750 on 3-26-2014 with check number [redacted], and $750 on 3-26-with check number [redacted].

If you have question please let us know.  This complaint should be removed.

Thanks, [redacted]

I have reached out to Mrs. S[redacted] and we are working together to come up with a solution.
There was a miscommunication and I am currently waiting for her to send me some paper work.
I have also added another visit to maintenance her solar water heater at no cost. We fully intend...

of resolving this issue and appreciate your attention to it.
Thank you,

Regards,

[redacted]   Ms. [redacted] paid $3,880.40 to the above mentioned to "settle" the $5,000 charge. They would not accept a check so she  could not receive a "paid in full" acknowledgment  but I am concerned.  I am writing because I employ Ms. [redacted].  I believe this is unfair since it was not even 18 months when it was "due" It was 16 when payment was demanded.  Ms. [redacted] NEVER received a bill from them or else it would have been paid PROMPTLY BY CHECK. It is also my belief that since this does not go through the US Postal Service that Adair and the bank were not giving her written confirmation just and ID#.
COULD YOU PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT HER ABOVE PAYMENT IS PAID IN FULL FOR THEIR SERVICE.
Her daughter's e-mail address is annettei[redacted]@yahooo.com.  Please send confirmation of her paid in full status to Annette and me.

We attempted to contact this customer to do a conference call with her finance company ** and this customer.  We were unable to **t her on the phone to make this happen.  She will need to call ** to find out why the bill has not dropped per the ** loan program.  ** will not tell us why as it is a line of credit in the customers name.  I would imagine it was just a matter of not paying enough to drop the balance.  We cannot remove an installed system according to the customer request as we know these systems can reduce usa** for each year it is installed.  This is a long tern investment and should not be dismissed in the first four months of operation.  We will do everything in our power to make sure the system is working according to manufacture specifications.

We will call the customer to schedule our technicians to do our six month evaluation early to make sure everything was installed correctly and is working.  We will need them to submit the utility bills to our office each month to ensure the savings is monitored.  If we need to make any suggestions of recommendations we will be able to do that with in the first twelve months.  We look forward to being able to help this customer save money with this system.  [redacted] from our office will be calling to schedule the site visit.

Thanks, [redacted]

I have received 2 telephone calls from Adairs representative, [redacted], 1 asking for my online [redacted] accounts password which I have found completely appalling. I have a password on my account to protect my account and myself, it is my password- not to be shared. At this point I do not have anymore vacation time to spend fixing this problem, I, like others, must work to survive. I cannot continue to waste my lunches on the phone to no avail. I have spent to much time waiting for Adair workers to show up at my house to attempt to fix my broken pipe and not fix it, making multiple phone calls to Adair to address my issues for which they are aware of, and to attempt fix the solar panels themselves which also is not working to what their representative promised. I am also, still awaiting the purchase agreement with its terms and conditions which I have not yet received either. I do still have the same address, hopefully any day now it will arrive. Adair is more than welcome to do a full inspection on this unit, although, as previously stated I cannot take the time off of work to wait around. Again, my issue with this unit is that I was promised an [redacted] bill of $10-20 and I'm receiving bills much, much more than that. Spending $25,000 and only saving around $40 was never discussed or it would have never went on my roof!

Regards,

I spoke with Jen from Adair Home.  I found out that my hot water heater should be inspected yearly and the first two years is on them.  It was installed 9/13, so they should have come in 2014.  Jen said they would come in 2016 at not cost since they did come in 2014.  She told me that I was incorrect about purchasing the ac prevent maintenance package and what that entailed.  She asked for proof.  I faxed her my copies of the contract.  I have heard nothing further.  I find it odd, that they do not have copies of the agreement.  I request that they provide me with the funds allocated for this service.

The customer will receive the tax credits as described by the tax law.  The interest for the loan was something the customer was aware of if the loan was not paid back be for the 12 month promotional period. We stand firm on our first response.

Sincerely, [redacted]

As I review the complaint and our file we have been in communication with the customer. On January 20 of this year we sent our A/C man to check the type of unit we would need to replace.  I see that we offered to replace the unit for $5000.  It seems as if we have not communicated with the...

customer the need to get half ($2500) down payment to get the project started.  I have my office looking to see if we sent a letter or if the communication was just over the phone with the offer.  My office Manager [redacted] is great a communication with our customers and seems we may have dropped the ball on this issue.  We stand ready to honor the agreement we offered.  It should be noted that we cannot remove the system or return money on the original purchase of the system.  I will have [redacted] reach out to the customer to collect the down payment and get the installation of the A/C unit started.[redacted]

We have reached out to the customer to attempt to resolve this problem.  [redacted] in our office will set up a meeting to get the issues worked out.[redacted]

We have a conference call set up with this customer and her financing company tomorrow to go over the loan she has. I am sure her payment has not dropped because she has not paid the amount needed to drop the payment.  We will find that out tomorrow. This is a new customer...

and we only have 4 months of bills to see savings.  I am not sure if we have all those bills we will make sure we **t them.  We will also schedule a site visit to inspect the equipment we installed to make sure it is all working according to manufacture specifications.  We normally do this at 6 months but we will set her up early.  We have quoted 25% savings of her utility usa** to this customer.  We have it in contract that if we don't save 25% in the first 12 months we will pay the difference in her bills. We have also at the end of 12 months in a few cases added other energy savings products or systems to help our customers **t the savings we quoted. I am confident we will be able to **t this house saving we just need more than 4 months to do this.  We have a 10 year agreement with this customer.  We will go to this house every year for the next 10 years to check up on this system. We plan to help this customer and the system work according to the manufacture specifications.  We cannot remove the system according to the request of the client.  We will however work with her to **t her saving and make sure she **ts long term savings.

Sincerely,

We did meet with Mr. [redacted] and he purchased the energy saving system he indicated.  At the point of sale our salesman are trained to show the customer  with tax credits, rebates, and energy savings this system can cost you no extra money out of your pocket compared to what you are...

currently spending. It does however take time to realize this as it is a long term investment.  Mr. [redacted] knows the rebates and tax credits only cover about half of the investment because the salesman [redacted] prepared a purchase order worksheet or (estimate) detailing how much is available in credits and rebates.  According to the estimate our sales person [redacted] showed Mr. [redacted] a total of $6,997.00 in rebates and tax credits.  He also wrote that a net investment would be $7993.00 with payments from ** of $187.  We also have a credit application filled out and signed by our representative [redacted] and Ms. [redacted].  After the credit was approved we installed the job according to contract.  We estimated the system we install could possibly save between 25% - 40% of the power usage.  We have a contract to guarantee 25% savings of usa** in the f[redacted]t year or we will pay the difference in the utility bill for that year.  We did not quote savings of $240.  We have noticed in February Mr. [redacted] gas bill usa** has been reduced 79% and in March the gas bill usa** has been reduced 57%. The electric usa** has decreased 5% in February and 3% in March.  This is not as high as normal on electric so will continue to monitor the bills and perform a system inspection before our scheduled 6 month evaluation.  I will have [redacted] reach out to schedule Andy our field supervisor.

I think the overall issue was not mentioned in Mr. [redacted]’s complaint the way our company sees it.  When we pre-quality our potential customers we ask them if they pay federal taxes.  At the point of sale we ask customers if they pay taxes.  When our Operations Manager [redacted] and Customer Service Rep [redacted] met with Mr. [redacted] to discuss his issue the no extra money out of pocket was dependent on receiving the federal and state tax credits and all the rebates. It was after that when Mr. [redacted] spoke to our tax consultant we learned he may not be getting the tax credits because of a settlement agreement with the [redacted]. If Mr. [redacted] had disclosed to us his tax problem we would have not done this contract until that was settled.  We know that if you do not get the tax credits we will not be able to do this program with no extra money out of your pocket.  The good news is Mr.  & Ms. are working and should be able to get all the tax credits over the next 5 years per the tax code.  Furthermore, Mr. & Ms. [redacted] knew they would have a payment of $187 until they were able to do their taxes in 2015 for the 2014 tax year.  Mr. [redacted] came into our office asking the same thing and he was not granted money back on his contract.  On the back of the contract we have a specific line about tax credits not being our company’s responsibility we want our customers to make sure they will get the tax credits.  We respectfully deny the request of paying for half of the bill this customer has when he agreed in contract to pay the total amount.

Sincerely,

General Manager

I have a meeting set up with this client to discuss the performance of the system.  We have solutions for systems that under perform on savings.  I need to meet with the client to determine the best solution for the issues they may have.  I look foreword to resolving this issue with the client in our meeting next Wednesday.[redacted]

Review: I purchased Adair's solar Water Heater Package on 4-9-14. I was told that I would receive a Refund/Rebate for $1,500.00. We have called them each month since with the same reply that they are having financial trouble and will pay us soon. I called and talked to[redacted] at Adair today and she said they owe me $1,500.00 AS OF TODAY, that she was sorry and that she would tell the owner [redacted] Adair. This is the same thing she has said to us each of the last several months.

I also called [redacted] as we were supposed to get a rebate from them. I received a letter dated 9-23-14 saying that they would send my rebate to the contractor Adair ( I'm not sure why they didn't send it to me directly?). I talked to [redacted] at [redacted] today and she confirmed that [redacted] sent Adair a check for $786.00 to Adair on 9-24-14, and would mail me a copy of that check in approximately 2 weeks.

I'm frustrated that Adair owes us this money $1,500.00, and keeps saying sorry we're having financial problems, or problems with their contractors, etc.. each and every month! Especially when [redacted] sent them a $786.00 Rebate on 9-24-14, and they still won't pay me!

I simply want Adair to pay me the money they owe me, and hope that they send me the Tax Refunds they said I would get. The year will be over soon and I can already tell that I'll probably never get those either!Desired Settlement: I just want to get the $1,500.00 that Adair admits to owing me today, and assurances that I'll get the other Tax Rebates promised me at the end of the year! I would also want to get the $768.00 that [redacted] sent Adair instead of me.

Review: On or about May17, 2013, an Adair Home, LLC and Adair Solar, LLC representatives sold me a solar system, including a solar hot water heater, Aero Seal duct System, Radiant Barrier and other related materials as a combined system. This system was marketed to me as a "cost savings" tool to save utility costs and energy. In addition, this was marketed to me as a cost savings as a tax deduction, both State and Federal. My accountant was unable to get these deductions since my income did not exceed a specific dollar amount.Although I have been patient, and diligent in the utility costs, it is evident to me all of these potential cost savings have not materialized, and are costing me more money to keep my house in a reasonable comfortable temperature zone for living. I have had the Barrier system repaired once already. It does not stay in place. This entire system is not doing what it was represented to me and it is costing me more money monthly. The projected monthly savings was over $80.00. Once my utility bill was $45 less; however, my monthly utility bills average in excess of $25 to $64 per month. My [redacted] Gas bills have stayed the same even though I was told they would be less because of the solar water heater.Desired Settlement: Financially I cannot afford the system payment and the increased utility bills. Therefore, I respectfully request you to remove the entire system and refund the balance. This is a financial burden I can no longer endure.

Review: Adair promised that money would be saved by installing solar energy saving devices into our home including a solar water heater, aeroseal, A/C preventative maintenance package, and radiant barrier. They also promised to review bills (electricity and gas) annually to determine if money was being saved and let us know that if it was not, they would provide reimbursement checks for the amount that was not saved which was promised. After an annual review, it was determined that we did not save what was promised. The man who they sent to our house asked if we had received a reimbursement check already as many customers in our same situation received the check prior to his arrival to explain their annual readings. When we stated we had not received a check, he said we would be receiving one in the mail shortly for the amount of $316.54. His visit was in the middle of November. We have still not received a check from Adair nor have we received any return calls when messages have been left regarding this matter.

The system which was installed was very expensive and we feel as though we were completely scammed. If we could have the system completely removed and be reimbursed we would do it because it was a complete waste of money. Rather than saving money, we have spent thousands to pay this off and are really upset that they company is not true to their word. We doubt that future reimbursements for money not saved as promised will be paid as the first one has not been paid after four months.Desired Settlement: We would like complete reimbursement for our out of pocket costs. This would include monies minus the 30% federal tax credit that was awarded ($4,344), the Arizona State Tax Credit ($1000), and the Adair reimbursement ($2200). The total amount paid for this system was $14,480. Therefore, we would like to be reimbursed $6,936 - as this was our total investment and what we were promised to receive in savings. This is the amount we have paid off, and we have seen no benefit. Due to the response of the company as well as the hassle to continue to have someone review our utility usage annually, we are requesting full reimbursement and are willing to return the solar water heater and panel to the company.

We will contact this customer and meet them about this issue. We show a month of savings over 40% and another four months saving between 18% to 30%. We are excited about these results and will meet with the client is see why they are unhappy. Thanks, [redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

While I appreciate the response from the company, it does not address the issues stated. The check that was promised was not mailed in a timely manner. After waiting for four months and attempting to contact the company, the check was still not mailed. However, upon receiving the complaint filed, the company called us, sent the check, and set up an appointment for the General Manager to meet with us. There was no explanation given regarding the reason for delay. The meeting with the General Manager is schedule for later this week; at that time, we will be able to determine if the requests previously made will be addressed. Stating that for a one month period that 40% was saved is not what was promised by the company. We were quoted a 25% savings every month which is why the money was owed. This has not happened consistently and the reduction of our energy/power bill has not occurred - the price per month has remained exactly the same or slightly increased since the installation of products. For this reason, we are still unsatisfied.

Review: Adair/Green Monster Home Solar System Company

Failed to complete the company Installation project for guarantee solar energy saving.

On May 25th, 2010 I invested $10,100 in Adair Solar System / Green Monster’s Home Project Solar System Energy saving. The solar system was guarantee designed to reduce my home utilities annual energy savings usage through the installation of specific energy saving products. Green Monster guarantee subject terms herein, that the total kilowatt hours’ usage to heat and cool your home will be reduced by the amount of 30% net kilowatts. This reduction plan was to be calculated by an authorize agent who were to inspect my system, perform maintenance as they deem to be necessary repairs to lower my overall energy requirements for heating and cooling my home throughout the period of this guarantee total energy usage established from my home monthly preceding twelve months utilities bills.

The presentation included numerous rebates incentive in the maximum amount of this State Rebate from Arizona incentives maximum amount of $1,000 and Federal Rebate incentive maximum amount $3,969. The total system retail cost $13,230 and compared to the go green cost trio worksheet after incentives and credit rebate will leave me a net total investment owed in the amount of $ 5,117. In the equivalent payment before incentive + rebate applied and after rebate and when incentives are applied in the estimates monthly utility saving Net monthly savings over the periods of time within my utilities uses (-1). And in return if the core energy usage fails to be lesser to than equal or more than the guarantee the company will pay you the cash difference between the amounts of savings guaranteed and the savings actually realized.

A few months after Adair Solar complete the solar system installment, I received my utilities bills and there were no energy saving, instead my utility bills have gone up. I call Adair Solar and they informed me to call the City of Tucson and schedule an inspection and on August 2, 2011 the Tucson City inspector came out and inspected the solar panels on the roof and the new hot water system and the system failed the inspection. Adair repaired somethings and City of Tucson returned Wednesday September 01, 2010 and the Solar System was approved.

As time went by I still notice no saving I call Adair Solar numerous times trying to figure out why my utilities bills are still going up and not down? They informed me that Mike will call me back but he never responded back to me and when I did finally talk to him months later, he insured me that he will review my utilities bills and monitor the factors and call me back. And to this day I still have not received any type of response from him. Since the year of the solar system installment I have been very dissatisfied with this product. I have written letters to Adair Solar and Wells Fargo trying to explain that the product was ineffective and I was not saving any energy usages, and the more I tried to clear up this matter, my financial situation became worst.

As crisis approached, I consolidated with GHS who I found to be a fraud and Well Fargo summons my account to the Superior Court House. Then strangely my account was sent back to Fulton collection. As the economy was falling Adair Solar has placed me in the worsts financial hardship than before, I was trying to maintain my good man ship so I paid a small amount to Fulton Collection what I could afford and on July 16, 2013 Fulton Collection rejected my check and sent back to me.

Adair Solar fabricate benefits that guarantee rebates saving to induce sales in the mist of false pretends. No authorize agent from Adair reduction plan informed me of any calculating within my utilities usages as the company guarantees nor did any company agent inform me to inspect my solar system performance as requirements for lower my overall energy for heating and cooling throughout my home. Adair solar agency failed to established their guarantee for effective energy saving and has fail to complete the entire installation process to produce solar energy saving as guarantee their words and advertising in solar energy saving.

As the information comes to reveals, Adair Solar failed to submit my solar system registration application to Tucson Electric Power Company for their solar system constructional work approval. Adair Solar never register my solar system with TEP to be turned and made no form of attempts for me to call Tucson Electric Company for Adair solar material work approval. Adair Solar neglect to complete the most important step, the final installment process that is required to connection solar power effectively to generate with Tucson Electric Power Company. Adair solar are professional contractor who should have known to taken the final installment step and register my solar system to produce solar energy productively with TEP as the final step required. Therefore Adair solar energy saving system is useless and does not produce solar energy efficiency which defeats proposes of usage for the Home Project Solar System Energy Saving.

These facts finding has risen to an exhausting length of time that is now hard to continue to bear. I see my utilities bills rise up every month I find these false statements to be found very despicable and psychological disturbance. Go green benefits of participation programs has no real value in their guarantees there is no significantly reduced price from normal retail prices. There is no Energy saving Guarantee improvement. There is no guarantee rebate saving. There is no monthly utilities energy saving. There is no financial energy saving and Adair solar guarantee are found to be fascinating untrue.

In all reality I really don’t know what I bought. I purchase of the solar system was under the impression that I will be saving solar energy for my water, electric and gas bills. As the company asked, I referred my neighbors; family and friend general information for their potential customers and this misleading information have done no more than embracing discomfort from the company corporate good faith and fair dealing. Adair energy solar has engage this trouble act of financial hardship of destruction upon my family and my life shamefulness for believing in these Adair solar guarantee promises, while my utilities rise high or higher than my family, neighbor and friends.Desired Settlement: This problem still burden me today, I trust and hope that your service can use fair judgment and please help me compensate peace of mind from this bad business situation and clear up my line of credit.

Thank you,

Belinda Railey

I had a new AC unit installed on my home last August by Precision Air but when Adair contacted me with a $20.00 AC check up I figured what the heck so I let them come out and do there thing, the tech said everything was fine but a week later I had to call out Precision Air cause it wasn't cooling. There tech found that it was 4 lbs low on freon and had to tighten up some connections which leads me to believe that the tech from Adair created a slow leak so they could come back and sell me some freon and charge me for a repair that he created. No way of proving that but I would not reccomend them to anyone

Review: In Mid-September of 2013, I received a call from a man who said he was with Adair Home located in Mesa. He said he was contacting us because we had expressed interest at a home show and to let them know about a special promotion dealing with the installation of a solar water heating unit. I agreed to meet with Mr. [redacted] and he explained that Qualifying homeowners could have a solar water heater installed and would receive rebates and payments from Adair, [redacted], the state of Arizona, and the federal government. The total cost of the system and services to be installed was $14990 and included a solar hot water system, radiant barrier, Aeroseal, a K-Var system, and a 10 year warranty. The incentive payments would cover the initial cost of the equipment which was $8298 and eliminate any out of pocket costs to me. The remainder of the system cost was to be set up as a loan with approximate 83$ payments that would be offset by the savings I would receive on my utility bill. Mr. [redacted] asked to review our utility bills for the previous twelve months as well as see our 2012 tax returns to verify that we were a candidate for the services they were offering. After making several phone calls he stated that we were indeed good candidates for the program and qualified for their financing. The financing would consist of two loans one for the initial cost of $8298 and a second for the remaining $6692. The first loan was to be interest free for the first year allowing time for the rebates and tax returns to come back so that it could be paid off from these incentives, thus the no out of pocket cost. The second loan was to be paid in monthly installments for 7 years and would 83 dollars a month. Because the estimated savings was 80 dollars a month this left us with a net monthly payment of 3 dollars for the system. We asked the sales representative multiple times ensuring there was no out of pocket costs and he guaranteed there were not. At this point we agreed to have the system installed and the work was done over a two week period.

Everything went smooth until we filed our taxes and found out it was not a payable tax credit and we would not be receiving the full $1000 dollars from Arizona or the full $5098 from the federal return. Because of our tax bracket we would only be receiving $831 dollars from Arizona and $2689 from the federal return. Immediately I called Adair to see what was going to be done and they recommended me to “[redacted]” their tax person who was handling all these issues. “[redacted]” verified that the taxes were filed correctly and informed me that I should get the remainder of the credits in the following year. This is fine however the loan for the “no out of pocket” portion of the system is due in October 1, 2014 and if not paid in full at this time will be subject to incurred interest. I again called Adair and spoke with “[redacted]” and expressed that this was not what their sales person had represented when he sold me the system. [redacted] said had heard others were having this issue and they were waiting for all tax returns to come back before they would address any issues and that she would call me back. In Mid-April 2014 I again called because tax season was over and “[redacted]” again had no answer but said she would contact me when she had heard anything. On 5/5/2014 I spoke with [redacted] at Adair and was told that [redacted] was handling all these issues and I would need to talk with her, but she was not available at this time and would call me when she got back to work. I again received no phone call. On 5/27/2014 I again spoke with [redacted] and she still insisted that [redacted] was who I needed to talk to about my issue, and again she was unavailable. On 6/3/2014 I again called and spoke with Melody who said she had just started with the company but believed “[redacted]” was who I needed to talk to and said she would call me back, I asked if there was anybody else I could talk to and she said there wasn’t but [redacted] would call me back when she got back from lunch around 12:30. [redacted] did call me back this time and thanked me for calling because she had forgot who was having these issues, but she had no new information at this time, stating that she thinks the owner knows what they’re going to do but needed to talk to them to find out and would call me back. I also told [redacted] that I had only received $700 of the $2200 Adair incentive and she checked their records verifying they had received all the required documentation they needed, they had, and said she would release the remaining credits and that I should get them in a few weeks. I called back the following week because I had not heard back and [redacted] told me that I again needed to contact “[redacted]” because he was the one handling this now.

I contacted [redacted] and was told that he had heard about what was going on and would look in to it. [redacted] took my information and said he would call me back later that day with more information after he talked to the owner. [redacted] failed to call me back that afternoon as well as the following day at which time I called him back and got a voice mail. I left my information again and requested he call me back. Since my initial contact with “[redacted]” I have called once a week since the second week in July, he has not answered his phone nor returned my phone call to date. In addition I have not received the Adair credits that [redacted] had previously stated she released, it has been 8 weeks since she said she released the funds.

Currently I have received $4229 of $8298 in credits and tax incentives towards this program and the initial loan is due 10/1/2014. I not paid in full on that date the loan will be subject to the 19.99% APR, which is already over $1200. I find this to be unacceptable as I have made every effort to fix this issue with Adair and they have not supplied any plan or answers to address in fact they it appears they have started to ignore my calls. At this point I have lost all confidence in being able to rectify this issue with the company and am filing a complaint with the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I feel Adair should pay the $4069 which is the remainder of the initial loan after the credits I have received are applied. Adair should then write a new loan for the $4069 that can be due October 1, 2015 allowing time for the federal and state incentives to be received as well as time for the remaining $1500 dollar Adair credit to be issued.

Response:

We received your letter in regards to [redacted] a customer of ours in Laveen. I have reviewed our records and I do show we have not paid the rebate of $1500 to the customer. This check will be prepared and sent out to the customer before the loan is due in October of this year. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Mr. [redacted] also let us know he did not get all the tax credits according to his federal and state tax filing for 2013. The good news is he will get all these credits next year when he files his taxes. Residential solar tax credit can be carried forward for five years according to the tax law. As a company we show our customers that solar tax credits are available and how much is available. We would have no way of knowing if they could get all the tax credits in the first year. According to the letter the customer received $2689 from the federal and $831 from the state. They will get $2409 next year from federal and $169 from the state. These amounts will appear as line items on the federal and state tax credit forms. This will allow them to get the full amount of the tax credit according to the project. We cannot advance or loan this money to the customer as they will receive it when they do their 2014 taxes.

Unfortunately, we cannot do anything about the loan they have in place. These types loans cannot be refinanced by our company. What we can do is get our customer the remainder for the $1500 rebate and they will have to wait for the tax credits. The customer requested $4069 and we cannot give that to them. What we can do it get them $1500 and they will be getting the balance of $2569 at tax time from the filing of their taxes. This will total the $4069 they are requesting.

Sincerely, [redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I am not satisfied with the resolution from Adair. In this resolution there is an out of pocket cost of over 1200 dollars in interest which was not part of the initial sales agreement. I understand that I will be receiving the remainder of the tax credits in my 2014 income tax return. However this does not change the fact that interest will be charged in October to a loan I was told would be paid off before its due date with Adair's incentives and tax credits. I have worked to rectify this issue for almost 8 months with Adair have been told multiple times they were going to address the situation as I am not the only one having the issue with the tax credits. It seems that it was an empty gesture in hope that I would just go away. I am willing to work with Adair to resolve this issue, but since they have already received their payment they are apparently no longer concerned with customer satisfaction. Their sales person made false promises and I was mistaken to not do better research regarding this company. Doing so would have saved me from dealing with this issue as I would have seen that Adair makes a habit of this type of misleading business.

Regards,

Response:

The customer will receive the tax credits as described by the tax law. The interest for the loan was something the customer was aware of if the loan was not paid back be for the 12 month promotional period. We stand firm on our first response.

Sincerely, [redacted]
