Sorry.Not three minutes after I filed the complaint, I finally received a response, and a refund, from American Greetings. I then tried to rescind my complaint, but found no way to do so. Although I disagree with their statement that they responded as often as they did, and although I attempted to make contact several more times than they claim, and although I would have preferred that they had resolved the issue rather than provide a refund, and mentioned so several times, they did resolve the issue by refunding my membership fee. Had I found a way to do so, I would have rescinded the complaint within minutes of having made it.

We also see in our records there has been no usage on the account, so we have canceled the membership and processed a refund in the amount of $19.99. accessed from anywhere on the [redacted] website. Once the ‘email Customer Support’ option is selected from the Contact Us page, ‘Cancel my membership’ is listed as one of the contact reasons. As it appears the customer had difficulty reaching the Contact Us page, their $19.99 membership charge from 12/26/2016 has been refunded as a courtesy. The customer was notified of the refund via email.

Our records show on 11/13/2016 Mr. [redacted] emailed in to our Customer Support department stating he has encountered an issue with re-setting his password and had not received our password reset email....

On 11/15/2016 an email response, with step by step information on how to reset the password, was sent to Mr. [redacted]. When then show Mr. [redacted] emailed in again on 11/28/2016 stating he has not received a response to his previous email and was still unable to reset his password; we responded to Mr. [redacted] email on 11/28/2016 providing the previous information as he had not received our previous instructions. Our records show three other email communications were received from Mr. [redacted] and responses were provided to each email communication. The last email we received from Mr. [redacted] was on 11/30/2016 stating he was unable to access and had not received our response and would now like to cancel his account. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, in order to unfreeze the funds, I had to go through my bank's customer service (which was more responsive than Blue Mountain's by an order of magnitude). I would appreciate some assurance that in the future the gift card feature is functioning properly, and the vendor has an adequate customer service protocol in place to handle similar problems. In addition, it behooves Blue Mountain to make it clear during the purchase process that the gift cards are handled by a third party vendor. These very reasonable steps are not so much for myself as for other customers. I am aware through various business review sites that this is hardly an isolated occurrence.
