Regarding the Refinancing of my property and being defrauded by a Loan Officer, Jackson Sachse at Allied First Bank

Here's how I was scammed from Allied First:

I received the attached scam letter from Allied First in June of 2023, 6 months after refinancing. The letter states that I have certain benefits available from my FHA mortgage as of May 1, 2023. It states that I have equity reserves of $3,060.34 and other loan benefits. It states to call by June 9, 2023 to receive an explanation of the benefits. I had no intention of refinancing again, but I called the toll free number and spoke to loan officer Weston Segal. Weston told me that the government reduced their FHA fees with a new FHA Streamline progam and Allied First would be able to lower the FHA fees and lower my interest rate from 6.125% to 5%, without paying any closing fees. He said there would be no fees or charges and I would have a reduced payment, saving thousands of dollars to my loan. I thought that was a good idea and started sending him the documents he requested. He gave me his number 602-346-9653.

A few weeks later, I received a call from Jackson Sachse, who told me that he would be taking over since Weston Segal was no longer with the company and gave me his cell #602-975-0302. He asked me if I wanted any money. I told him NO since I was taking out a line of credit with another company. Currently, I have 2 homes that are owned free and clear. One was on the market and the other needed a little work. I wanted a short term loan to make some repairs before putting it on the market. I was already in talks with www.aven.com to get a credit card that offers a line of credit.

With Aven, you can get approved in 15 minutes with no origination fees, no hidden fees and no closing costs. When I explained this to Jackson Sachse, he told me that it was a bad idea and I should work with him in taking out money because it wouldn’t cost me anything and I could still take advantage of the FHA Streamline giving me lower payments. He told me it would only require a new appraisal. I told Jackson that I already paid for an appraisal last December when I refinanced and didn’t want to purchase a new appraisal. . Jackson stated that they would reimburse me for paying for another appraisal. So I paid about $560 for another appraisal on my house. Jackson never went over ANY fees or closing costs with me….EVER. I assumed there were no costs/commissions to doing this transaction. I don’t even see on the Closing Statement where he reimbursed me for the appraisal that I didn’t want to get in the first place.

While I was on vacation in North Carolina (August 1-16, 2023), Allied First Bank was sending documents for docusigning. I couldn't see the small print from my phone and hit the sign buttons, even though I could not read any of it since it was too small. I also didn’t have my reading glasses needed to read small print. Then I met a Notary who had me sign documents while on vacation in North Carolina. She said to just sign the documents and she'd give me a copy to read. I admit I let my guard down and didn’t read all the lengthy documents that I signed since I assumed that this was a bank I was dealing with and wouldn’t be taken advantage of. I just got back home today to my house in California on 8/16/2023 and read the documents. I'm shocked that I signed refinance documents with a higher interest rate and huge closing costs of over $20,000. I was scammed! I feel like I was kicked in the gut! Jackson fed me lie after lie after lie to get me to refinance, while I was only trying to get a short term loan to make repairs to my North Carolina property before putting it on the market. Jackson hit the jackpot with this scam he pulled on me. He received a Broker fee of $10,828.73, a refund from HomeBridge Financial Services of $3,838.25 and loan points of $6,702. Altogether, Jackson received $21,368.98, mostly from the equity of my house. I never even wanted to refinance, since I was only looking for a short-term loan. I was scammed!

I had already refinanced my house last December where it cost me $17,861 in charges for a 6.125 interest rate. In this new loan, I was charged over $20,000 in loan fees for a higher interest rate of 6.25% only 6 months after the first refinance.

I feel like I was deceived from the start with the company marketing ad stating that I had equity reserves and other benefits I qualified for. This was a greedy scheme they played…and so far have won. I feel that Allied First should be shut down for their fraudulent marketing scheme. I also feel that Jackson Sachse should be held responsible for deceiving me and spend time in jail, reimburse me for all the equity he stole from my house and punitive damages. He needs to reimburse me for all those closing costs and commissions he received and doesn’t deserve. He should also be charged for senior financial abuse and prevented from being able to give financial advice so nobody else gets defrauded. I was definitely preyed upon.
