To whom it may concern,
Thank you for the opportunity to provide a response to Ms***’s
recent concern regarding her claim (UC81796462)
To provide an update on the claim, our records indicate that
this claim was discussed with the insured on 8/11/16. The
claim was partially paid under the Trip
Delay and Baggage portions of the policy.
There was no coverage available to the insured under the Trip
Interruption portion of the policy, because the reason for the interruption is
not a covered reason listed under the coverage in the policy. The Trip Interruption portion of the policy
would be the place that expenses related to the flight changes would be
considered, however since the reason is not a covered reason, this coverage is
no longer applicable to the insured’s situation. We
must abide by the policy terms and conditions listed in the Description of
Coverage
If the insured has any further questions related to this
claim, or has additional receipts to submit, we welcome them to contact our Claims
Department at ###-###-####
Of course, we reserve all rights under the policy and the law, and
none of our communications may be construed so as to waive any of those rights

To
whom it may concern,
Thank
you for the opportunity to provide a response to Ms***’s recent concern
regarding his Trip Interruption claim (UC8***)
Per
our records a Trip Interruption claim (UC8***) had been filed on 12/30/
due to
a missed flight. The reason for
the missed flight was due to long car travels and no wheelchair assistance at
the airport causing your traveling companion to develop a medical
condition. This caused a delay in arriving
to the airport counter. Unfortunately, arriving
to the airport late is not a covered peril under the Trip Interruption
benefit. As the medical condition was
not certified by a Physician, we were not able to extend benefits for that
loss.

6/9/To whom it may concern, Thank you for the opportunity to provide an additional response to Mr***’s recent concern regarding his Medical Expense claim (***)The insured’s claim for the medical expenses was denied because there was no documented treatment by a Physician during the complainant’s trip, which is required in order for the medical expense coverage to be applicable. While we do understand Mr***’s concerns and appreciate his position on the circumstances regarding the medical expenses, we must adjudicate each claim and circumstance based on the policy wording contained in the insured’s purchased policy. Unfortunately, the policy wording below is very clear in stating that the initial documented treatment is received from a Physician during the TripPlease refer to the policy wording, which states in pertinent part: ACCIDENT SICKNESS MEDICAL EXPENSE BENEFIT If, while on a Trip, an Insured suffers an Injury or Sickness that requires him or her to be treated by a Physician, the Company will pay a benefit for Reasonable and Customary Charges, up to the Maximum Limit and after satisfaction of the Deductible shown in the Schedule or Declarations PageThe Company will reimburse the Insured for Medically Necessary Covered Expenses incurred to treat such Injury or Sickness within days of the date of the accident that caused the Injury or the onset of the Sickness provided the initial documented treatment was received from a Physician during the TripThe Injury must first occur or the Sickness must first begin while on an overnight Trip with a Destination of at least miles from the Insured’s Primary Residence, while covered under the PolicySubmitted claim documentation indicated that the complainant did not seek documented treatment from a Physician until he returned home from the scheduled tripTherefore, since there was no treatment by a Physician during the Trip, coverage is not applicable based on the policy wording above, and the claim for the medical expenses incurred once returning home from the trip remains deniedIf the insured has any further questions related to this claim, we welcome them to contact our Claims Department at ###-###-####Of course, we reserve all rights under the policy and the law, and none of our communications may be construed so as to waive any of those rightsSincerely, *** *** (Complex Claims Adjuster)Tell us why here

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Mr*** claims (for the first time) that our trip was booked through Expedia.com. I booked the trip through Travelocity and never received any e-mails or documentation that would suggest the trip was booked through Expedia. All of the booking confirmations came to us directly from Travelocity, not Expedia. I would like to know how Mr*** was able to make this determination. I would also appreciate it if Mr*** could share with me whatever documentation he was able to obtain to prove the trip was booked through Expedia. A few things seem strange to me; 1) Travelocity provided us with the Travel Guard claim form and the directions for submitting the claim to Travel Guard; 2) Why am I learning of this more than months after first submitting our claim? Regardless of which company was the underwriter of this trip, Travel Guard has been totally incompetent and irresponsible in the handling of this matter. If they didn't underwrite the trip, they should have been able to communicate that to me when they were in the early stages of reviewing our claim.
