American Steel Carports Inc Reviews (71)

They have offered me a $280 discount and if the building is not done by the deadline a further discount will be given.  Please keep this case open until the install is completed.

I have yet to see a refund of my deposit and do not accept this agreement until the refund has been made to me. American Steel Contacted me 2 weeks ago to settle. Cash talks and BS walks.

My customer service manager has spoken to the customer and they have come to an agreement that we will refund the customer the requested amount and the customer will send us back the set of specific plans sent to him. Thank you,[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: The explanation...

given by the company is unacceptable, and untrue, and a contradiction as proven below. Their online advertisement, along with the fact that I purchased a nearly identical unit in 2015, which was installed in a identical situation, without issue, makes it quite clear that my expectations aren't unreasonable. I have requested that they send a representative out to assess, multiple times, they have not. I had the dealer out, who I originally ordered from. He agreed that our complaint was valid. He took pictures, measurements, and forwarded them to company. He also contacted the company by phone twice. On both occasions he was lead to believe that the company would be contacting me to resolve the issues.

[redacted]The following text is copied directly from their web site!Lean to units are great for providing protection alongside an existing building. These structures can be customized to fit your needs. A lean to is a structure that slopes off in a single direction.  Most lean too's are leaning off of another structure. Unfortunately, American Carports cannot attach the lean to to your existing structure but we can install very close against the existing structure. These units are excellent options for a covered sidewalk along your building to protect your customers or guest from rain or snow. If you would like to put a lean to up against your house to provide parking for your vehicle we can do that also. The spacing will have to be altered if you have doors or windows that you want to remain accessible and open. Let us know the layout and specifications of your property so we can build the unit that is just right for you.

It seems that everything is fine with this customer.  We repaired that things the customer needed and he told the installer that he was going to be calling so we could cash the check.

We installed his unit on 12-21-17 customer signed final invoice and was satisfied with the final install

He will be added to a run for the beginning of next week.Cx should get a call by Friday at the latest.

Here are the picture for the unit of [redacted] I spoke with the shop manager and he said that was the closest we could have put the unit to the building. I had explained to the customer that that was the closest we could.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, after speaking to [redacted] ( Nov. 30th ),...

customer service manager at ( [redacted] ext [redacted] ) I have yet to receive my refund as promised. I made a follow up phone call ( left message ) and sent an e-mail. Please do not close this case, still awaiting money due to me ASAP. Thank you for your assistance in this matter , I am very disappointed with this company and did not expect this to require so much time and effort to resolve a simple issue. NO services ever rendered.

That customer is in a run and has been confirmed. We are fixing the unit according to the customer’s request.

good morning, I just got off the phone with [redacted] which is the person Mr. [redacted] place the order with and explain to him that in the contract the customer was only charge  for the base price, the dealer did let me  know that he was going to get with the customer

I do understand that the customer did mention to the dealer that he wanted a gable end, and panels on the side.the contract that we got from the dealer is only quoted for the base, also before we schedule customers we go over the oder to make sure that everything is correct if the customer would of mention it to the secretary we could of fix it.

We have gone and finished all the repairs to the customers unit were made to cx satisfaction.  I have attached the signed invoice.

Good morning,I'm working on having this customer installed with in the next two weeks. The only thing that is holding us is the weather

In response to the above customer, she purchased her order through [redacted]. We are not [redacted]. We are in the process of possibly purchasing [redacted] Company, however, that is not final.
We apologize for any confusion.

We apologize for the customers' frustration and the miscommunication between parties.

The wind damage sustained by the structure in question is indicative of an inferior product.  At purchase,  the American Steel Carports Inc. ([redacted]) sales representative was informed the carport would be located in a high wind area.  The company informed us at purchase all their structures are certified for high wind and meet state code (Larry).  We specifically asked about wind and [redacted] products when shopping for the carport.  We were informed the structure was certified for winds 90 mph.  As a remedy the sales rep encouraged purchase of extra and substantial anchors which we did purchase.  When the carport was installed by [redacted] installers the additional anchors were installed as well.   Subsequent to the damage to the structure,  [redacted] maintained the failure was our fault because we did not purchase an entirely enclosed carport.  We were informed the 20 year warranty on the structure was only for rust.  Welds failed in six structural legs included the corner of the building on the northwest side.  Approximately 75% of screws securing the lower legs of the structure were sheared during the wind event.  Due to the sway of the structure screws which attached the panels sawed through the sheet metal, became unsecured in the wind and subsequently shredded.  Witnesses reported they believed the carport in danger of collapse.  My wife and I dedicated 4 days labor in repairing and stabilizing the carport.   We have never requested reimbursement for labor from this company!  [redacted] has responded they will not reimburse, "materials they say they purchased to fix it".  I have receipts for every item purchased and I informed [redacted] I have receipts.  Materials purchased were used and totaled over $1000.   [redacted] is only willing to drop off 6 sheets of panel, when they are in the area next and would not install anything.  There was never a commitment as to when they will be in the area again.   Screws were to be provided as well to attach the panels and to replace screws on the legs sheared off during wind damage.   [redacted] has made the damage our fault, takes no responsibility for the product damage.  It is also noted [redacted] never returned phone calls to deal with our complaint until the Revdex.com complaint was filed.  The only things we have requested was materials and reimbursement for materials to render the structure safe.  In conclusion we regret this purchase and having done business with [redacted]. (Before and after pictures are attached.)

I’m sorry for the delay in response.  My scheduling dept has let me know that they will be calling the customer today to let the customer know that they will be there tomorrow to get this resolved.Thank you,[redacted]

In response to the Customer's complaint, we have made contact with the Customer and we have made arrangements to have a crew at her location this weekend. We apologize for the frustration, but we will take care of her issues.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: that's a lie, they just did not know how to hang the doors.. and sense then, I have had the city of springfield mo come out to inspect it . it failed , do to anchors . the building is about 14 anchors short
