Review: Recently I received a collection notice with Americollect for 3 diffenrent account numbers 1 dated back to 2011 for an injury that my husband encountered at work, no bill was ever received . There is usually a cap on workers comp claims, so trying at this point to get charges paid are slim to none. This document also included 2 other charges for which we never received any documents until now these are dated back to 2012, but Americollect has added this to our credit report in 2012 but we have never been notified I find this to be ridiculous and am hoping for some kind of resolution.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a billing adjustment and also credit to our credit report

Review: I asked that my name be removed from the bill. The bill was incurred in my husband's name before sending to this agency. I would like the bill to come in his name only. I as his legal wife will help with the payment of the bill. My name does not have to be on this bill for it to get paid.Desired Settlement: I would like the bill to come in his name only.

Please find the enclosed listing of accounts showing the owed balances listed in Americollect's office. [redacted] listed the accounts on 02/28/2014. Review: I have been receiving phone calls from AmeriCollect in the [redacted] location about a radiology bill that is resolved through [redacted]. I phoned Memorial Hospital and the informed me that they did bill [redacted] and I do not have any outstanding bills. AmeriCollect of [redacted] continues to call me even though the bill is resolved. The hospital suggested I ask them to take me off their list. I phoned Americollect back at the number that they called from, a seven one nine number, and I spoke with a senior collector and she stated that while she would take me off the calling list, she would not clear my name from her data base, even though I do not owe any money and I do not have any outstanding radiology bill. They are causing me emotional distress with harassing phone calls and they refuse to fix the bill to reflect accurately that I do not owe them or the hospital any money. I called the hospital and they confirmed that I do not owe any money. I informed Americollect of [redacted] of this information and they refuse to update their information on me accurately. Therefore they are causing further damage to me and my credit score if this is in fact being reported on my credit report. I want Americollect to take this false information out of their database so that my credit report will be accurateDesired Settlement: I want Americollect to stop contacting me and also to remove my name and this false bill from their system so that my credit report will be accurate and up to date. I want Americollect to issue an apology for causing my distress over a bill that is not real. Thank you.

Review: Americollect, Inc. has been attempting to collect a debt with [redacted] that was not supposed to be sent to collections to begin with. They were not abiding by my written requests for debt validation and/or stopping any further communication that were submitted via FAX, email, and paper mail. Furthermore, one of their agents contacted me at 10:30pm in an attempt to collect the debt, which is a violation of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. A complaint was filed with Revdex.com to resolve the issue about a month ago. The company responded by stating the the debt was erased from their records and they will cease contacting me. Yesterday, I received another debt collection letter in the mail.Desired Settlement: I want them to stop contacting me, sending me mail, and erase their debt from their records.

Review: I paid an outstanding balance to Americollect on 08/07/2015 out of my checking account. They did not acknowledge the payment until 08/10/2015, in which they refused to give me receipt for that payment. If I recall correctly, it is state law to provide receipt of payment at the time of payment in Wisconsin. Not only that, but they took the money out, then immediately put it back in and charged me for it again three days later, causing me to overdraft my account twice! If they're going to reimburse me for something that should be out of the statute of limitations, they should just reimburse me, not repeatedly take it out and put it back in.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded for the $100 ($50/per withdrawal) I was charged because of their billing practice that caused me to be doubly billed by my bank when I should have been billed at all.

Review: I was in a unique situation with regards to my daughters medical bills in collections. I am divorced from my daughters mother. The mother witheld the bills from me and finally the bills went into collections. They were submitted in Feb 2014, and I receieved a notice from Americollect on December 8th 2014 about the charges and 1 bill of my own. I called numerous times to find out why it took so long to contact me about the debt, to which I got no response or explination, other then that it took them until November 2014 to find out I was the father. They would also not tell me how they came to this conclusion, even without contact with the mother, I was the only one to respond to the letter. My bill was submitted to them in August 2014 and also I was not notified until I receieved the letter December 8th. When I asked why it took so ong to contact me I once again got the run around and no explination was giving, even though the medical faculity gave them my current address and phone number. The daughters debts were there so long that they were already submitted to the credit file, and I was added and automatically dinged without notice or due process to pay or despute the charges. After numerous calls they did remove the debts from my credit file, as they were paid through insurance and taken care of, but they still won't tell me why it took so long nor how they came to the conclusion that I was the father responsible for the bills. I feel Ihave the right to this information and that they are trying to cover up some possible illegal buisness practices.Desired Settlement: A explination as to how they found out I was the father, and what numbers or address they tried contacting me at that made this so prolonged and unnecassary.

Thank you for bringing complaint ** #[redacted] by Mr. [redacted] to my attention. Under the Fair Debt CollectionPractices Act (FDCPA), information regarding a debt may not be disclosed to any third parties without the priorconsent of the consumer given directly to the debt collection. [1} However, Americollect, Inc. may discloseinformation regarding the underlying debt to respond to complaint allegations. [2] This communication is notmade with a view toward collecting the debt. This communication serves as Americollect, Inc.'s timelyresponse to Mr. [redacted]'s concerns.I apologize for the confusion in regards to the accounts listed in our office for Mr. [redacted]. On 02/07/2014,Americollect received four accounts for [redacted] (Account #[redacted], #[redacted], #[redacted]and #[redacted]) in which the patient's name was [redacted]. The accounts were sent to our office in thepatient's mother, [redacted]'s, name. On 08/28/2014, Americollect received an account for Mr. [redacted] for[redacted] (Account #[redacted]). As Mr. [redacted] has the same last name as the patient on theaccounts listed under [redacted]'s name, our system cross-referenced the two files and flagged them aspotential matches. Before sharing the accounts in which [redacted] was the patient between Ms. [redacted] and Mr.[redacted], a representative checked the [redacted]) to verify if Mr. [redacted] was inany way responsible for the accounts in which [redacted] was the patient. Per case #[redacted] on [redacted], Mr.[redacted] from Ms. [redacted] on 02/08/2010.Per Wisconsin's Marital Property Law: Each spouse has an equal obligation in accordance with his or her abilityto contribute money or services or both which are necessary for the adequate support and maintenance of hisor her minor children and af the other spouse. No spouse may be presumed primarily liable for supportexpenses under this subsection. There is no joint and several liability for these obligations, and creditors maypursue either or both spouses to collect the debt, regardless of who incurred it. Because both spouses arepersonally liable for necessaries, the creditor's right to pursue either spouse is not affected by a divorce, and allof the ex-spouses' assets remain available to satisfy the debt.Because the account listed under Ms. [redacted] had a patient by the name of [redacted] and [redacted] showedthat Mr. [redacted] had previously been married to Ms. [redacted], the representative concluded that Mr. [redacted] isresponsible for the accounts in which [redacted] was the patient. The accounts in our office listed for Mr.[redacted] have since been paid in full and Americollect has requ ested that the three major Credit Bureaus(Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian) delete all record of these accounts from Mr. [redacted]'s credit file.As is evident by our rapid and thorough response to your office, and subsequently Mr. [redacted], Ameri collecttakes complain ts very seriously. Review: Good Morning,

On Americollect’s social media page, they claim that their “Walls Talk” and teach employees to treat clients, consumers and each other with “Fairness.” I couldn’t disagree more with this claim, as I do not feel I am being treated fairly by Americollect, as a consumer.

In 2011, I had a medical bill submitted to Americollect by my healthcare system since I was not able to meet my obligations at the time. In 2012 I was faced with imminent job loss, however managed to make payments to Americollect and eventually pay my debt in full in February 2013. While it did take me some time to pay, I did pay my obligation in full and did not settle for less than I owed.

Americollect is the only collection I have on my credit report. Since I know others that have successfully had a collection removed from their credit report, simply by asking Americollect for a goodwill adjustment, I decided to call them to see if I could be extended the same consideration.

In March of 2013, after my account was paid in full, I called and spoke to a woman that said she couldn’t delete the account, but the credit bureaus could if I filed a dispute with them. I did as she suggested and submitted a dispute to the credit bureaus. Americollect proceeded to validate the debt, completely negating the statement made by their representative when I called.

On April 15th, I decided to email the customer service team at Americollect, in hopes of different, less conflicting results. In only fifteen minutes after I sent my email, I received a sharply scripted response that lacked personal attention to my request. Coincidentally, on April 16th, my credit bureau reported that the status of my account with Americollect had changed from “Paid” to “In collections.” This makes the tradeline more negative than before I’d contacted them. When I asked Americollect about this, they claimed they didn’t make any changes. However as the data furnisher, no one else could have made such a change.

I’ve tried reaching out to them again on May 8, June 3, June 18, July 22, September 12, and October 1, 2013. Once, of all of these instances, I received a form letter in the mail stating they would not remove the account. I feel that they have chosen a position of retaliation by reporting my account in a more negative status after I’d contacted them, and then refusing to return my messages. Americollect contacted me multiple times a day as I paid back my debt. However now that they have received their money, it’s impossible to get any service from this company.

As long as this account remains on my credit report, I am a consumer to this company, and I should be treated fairly, as they claim, and have each of my requests responded to in a personal, non-form letter manner.

The homepage of Americollect’s websites says they are “Ridiculously Nice.” That has not been my experience.

Thank you,

Acct #: [redacted]Desired Settlement: I ask that Americollect remove this account from reporting, as they have done with other consumers.

Response:

Mr. [redacted]:

Review: I talked to at least 4 people today at Americollect. I made a payment over the phone on my bill but told the first person I talked to that I wanted to see the account information on my account and couldn't log in which is why I haven't paid. They gave me the user id and password and then I tried to log in and it didn't work so I called back and they gave it to me again. I was able to get to the log in screen but couldn't complete the log in because their server is not secure and any information can be hacked over the internet and all the confidential information that I might put in including social , credit card etc is not secure apparently their security certificate is outdated. So called again, then they hung up on me and then called again, and was told that IT department is working on it ,then they told me that it was the weather" .I asked for a manager and eventually got Tyler who said that they will "work" on the problem. I asked when they expected it to be resolved and he stated he didn't know. I asked then to have the account information sent to me monthly with an accounting of my payment and what is owed, he stated he could not do that. I told him that I was thinking there is something wrong with being a debt collection agency when the consumer can't look at what is owed and have an accounting of what is paid. I asked for a monthly paper statement so I could mail a payment. He stated again no they don't do that. I told him at that point that I would be filing a complaint. I feel that a legitimate business transaction would include information on the debt being collected.Desired Settlement: I would like to have a paper statement sent to me and I will make a check out and pay snail mail. This is a company that seems to not follow legitimate business practices in terms of debt collection and especially when handing customers financial and confidential personal information.

Review: My son was hospitalized for injuries sustained while [redacted]. Attempts to have hospital bills payed has been difficult, as certain entities failed to supply itemized billing statements to the insurance carrier. I have all items resolved except for a radiology bill. Attempt to contact radiology and have itemized bills sent to the insurance carrier has not been done. Insurance is still waiting for itemized bill top pay the radiology dept. I was recently received a notification from Experian showing neg. items on my credit report. Starting in Oct. Americollect has been given the responsibility of collecting the unpaid bill from radiology. I have not received any written collection notices and Americollect has been steadily raising the amount due since Oct. 2014. This is unacceptable to continue raising the amount without any attempts to actually collect the money due!Desired Settlement: I will pay the original amount if they will send me a itemized statement and bill for the charges. I want the issue resolved and the negative items removed from my credit history.

Review: This collection company is continuing their collection activity on this account on my credit report. I feel they did not validate this account or debt per my request that I sent them in the mail previously. They have not provided signed proof that I incurred this debt, an itemization of the debt and a copy of the underlying account statement and other written validation and explanation of the debt.

Being that they failed to provide it, this is a clear violation of FDCPA. At this point I am entitled to statutory damages, as they continue to report this information and that is highly damaging to me. Proper validation consists of copies of some type of current creditor records, not records which only verify that the collector believes an account is valid.

Under federal law, I could hire an attorney to sue them at no cost to me and ask for $1,000.00 in damages, since credit bureau reporting is considered a collection activity and have failed to provide legal documentation that they are reporting this account 100% accurate.Desired Settlement: I do not wish to speak on the phone with anyone nor do I wish to engage in a verbal dispute. I am, however, exercising my right under the FCRA and FDCPA and respectfully requesting they delete this tradeline from my credit report, or I will have no choice but to seek legal assistance to stand in a courtroom before a jury and explain my case.

I would like this collection to draft a letter to all three credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion) that this unverified and inaccurate account will be removed from my credit report. I would also like a copy of that letter to be mailed to me as well and for this collection agency to cease & desist all types of communication after the item is deleted.

Review: This company has incorrectly reported information on my credit reports

I requested proof of service such as a signature saying I approved and service was rendered.

They refuse to provide and state it is not thier responsibility to prove anything that they are just the collector ( the FDCPA states otherwise)

THEY BEAR THE DUTY TO CORRECTLY REPORT AND UPDATE INFORMATION

I asked them if they reported it to the credit agencies and They Stated YES

I then asked them do they not have to verify that the collection is the truth or do they just report everyone

They stated they dont have too provide Me any proof other than a bill

What if someone made a billing error ...do they just report it ............what precautions are in place ?

I then asked what proof they have

They have no viable proof other than billing information that the service was provided at all.

They again stated they are just the 3rd party to collect a debt.

I believe They feel they have no burden to prove the debt is valid beyond a name and dollar amount.

Furthur please take note that this company has a canned response to complaints (Which I have copied and pasted below from the Revdex.com Reviews) if you read the reports they all state the same thing which tells me

they are not reviewing the merits of any complaint Im just another number or another complaint. #47 I think

Review: I received numerous harrassing phone calls from this company stating this debt was mine and I asked for proof from the provider that they claim they are collecting for and they will not provide the information requested, and I have told them this debt is not mine. I sent a certified return receipt letter asking for copies of the debt they claim I owe, and received the receipt that they signed for my request on 12/19/2013. Instead I got more harrassing calls threatening me that they would put it on my credit report, which they have now done. I have been working with all three credit reporting agencies to have this removed with little success with the exception of TransUnion who has deleted it because they could not verify the debt.Desired Settlement: I am entitled by law since I'm being falsely accused, copies of the "Bills" from the original company they are collecting for from this company. If they cannot provide these documents then they need to remove this from my credit report from all three agencies.

Review: My account was turned in to Americollect, Americollect called me to set up payments. [redacted] who contacted me from Americollect told me that if I paid 556.00 a month and have the bill paid up before year end that it wouldn't appear on my credit report. Well guess what showed up in Oct.2014 on my credit report. This was a verbal contract and it was recorded by Americollect and they will not let me listen the the recording. Americollect told me the recording is for there use not mine. I asked them to listen to the recording where [redacted] agrees that it will not be turned over to the credit reporting company unless I miss a payment, which I haven't yet. Americollect told me that [redacted] did not mention that in the phone conversation with me. I'm not nuts, this was the agreement and now they will not remove this from my credit report.Desired Settlement: I want this removed from my Credit Report. If not I want the recorded conversation between [redacted] and me.

Review: AMERICOLLECT INC is damaging my credit by reporting a collection account number – 30001F on my credit report that I don’t believe belongs to me. On March 20, 2015, they received a Certified Return Receipt letter from me requesting validation of the debt and as of yet they have not provided me any validation. I have disputed this debt with the Credit Bureaus and they are continuing to report and verify to the Credit Bureaus that this account is mine. This account with AMERICOLLECT INC is erroneous and does not belongs to me. Verification of signed documentation will reveal such validity.Desired Settlement: I would like the account in question and its inaccuracies removed from my credit file.
