I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Once again this is not acceptable. We were told about the 5 reviews when we were cancelling NOT WHEN WE SIGNED UP! What will be the next step for me? to receive a refund for being lied to by your sales staff? If you can not prove to me the conversation that I had with your sales staff when we signed up, proving that we were not mislead than I want a full refund

sign up for a membership with Angie’s List, and all of our memberships do default to an automatic renewal.  However, it appears that she signed up for multiple memberships by using different email addresses to sign in.  We’re always happy to review a recent automatic renewal transaction.  In this case, it appears that she was charged multiple times for the same product (a consumer membership), and thus should be refunded.  I have refunded the charges in question, and additional funds from the time when both memberships were active, as this duplicate purchase gave no extra value to Ms. [redacted].Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Please let me know if we can provide any further information.  Kind regards, Jesse B[redacted]Angie’s List

March 22, 2017   Indianapolis Revdex.com 22 E. Washington Street Indianapolis, IN  46202 Attn. [redacted] Re: Complaint Case # [redacted]     [redacted],   Thank you for bringing this updated complaint to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond again to this complaint.   I first wanted to apologize for misspelling Ms. [redacted]’s name in our previous correspondence.   Though we maintain that Angie’s List was not at fault for the misunderstanding that we have already addressed, and though we did not see any updated information in Ms. [redacted]’s updated complaint, Angie’s List will agree to waive one month of her advertising payments that are past due.  This reduces the balance that is outstanding in order for Ms. [redacted] to remain within category search on Angie’s List.  This amount is due very soon to avoid being sent to a third-party collections process, so we would encourage Ms. [redacted] to communicate with her client success manager to work out a suitable payment schedule promptly.   We strive to provide top notch customer service to members and service providers alike and regret that the consumer was disappointed with her experience with Angie’s List. We delivered to the extent of our contract. Angie’s List and Ms. [redacted]’s company have a binding agreement, and just as we have acted in accordance with our obligations, so must Ms. [redacted].   Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Please let me know if we can provide any further information.    Kind regards,   Jesse B[redacted] Angie’s List

storyregarding complaints filed against our company.  On 9/19/2014, Mr. [redacted] and his associate, [redacted], agreed to advertisewith Angie’s List for one year per the attached agreement. Before Angie’s Listwill publish an advertisement, we require each prospective advertiser to sign acontract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevantcategories and the ad rate a service provider must pay for these services. Eachcontract includes a standard cancellation fee.   Upon receipt of this complaint, we investigatedthe correspondence that Mr. [redacted] had withAngie’s List representatives during the past few months. Although Mr. [redacted] encountered customer service issues withhis representatives, his advertising did begin as scheduled. After reviewingthe situation, we will waive the cancellation fee and backdate his cancellationto 12/3/2014.   We strive to provide top notch customerservice. I sincerely apologize that we have missed the mark when assisting Mr. [redacted].  Thanks again for the opportunity to respondto this complaint. complaints filed against our company.   I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Mr. [redacted] for the frustration he mentions in his complaint.   As Mr. [redacted] mentioned, he purchased an offer from the company [redacted] on August 15th, 2016.  Though we are proud of our industry-leading Service Quality Guarantee, it does only apply to purchases made by paying members.  As such, Mr. [redacted]’s purchase does not qualify due to his membership type.  Mr. [redacted] was offered the opportunity to upgrade his membership on 8/31/2016 to qualify for our Complaint Resolution Process to receive additional assistance.   That said, the member has been in contact with a supervisor at Angie’s List.  The supervisor explained that leaving a review was the best opportunity for the member to provide their feedback regarding the work performed by the company.  We are certainly appreciative of the review and feedback provided by Mr. [redacted].  Companies that offer eCommerce deals on the Angie’s List website do not work for Angie’s List.  Angie’s List does not instruct the company on how they run their business.  The company is responsible for the quality of work and experience provided to members.  At this time, Mr. [redacted]’s complaint is with [redacted].   I find it regrettable that we left Mr. [redacted] feeling he had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.com. We strive to provide top-notch service to our members. We are very sorry for the frustration and trouble Mr. [redacted] has had to deal with.   Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Please let me know if we can provide any further information.    Kind regards,       Jesse M[redacted] Angie’s List

complaints brought against our company.First, let me begin by offering a sincere apology for the frustration and concern that this has caused Mr. [redacted].  The information offered on a landing page is a glimpse of what is available on Angie’s List.  This information is pulled directly from the List and will include companies that are listed in specific categories that may have reviews in that category or other categories relating to the overall work that they do. Additionally, if the provider services the member’s area, regardless of how far away they are from the member, they will show up in search results for members.   If Mr. [redacted] would like to provide what specifically he was looking for, I can do some research to ensure everything is functioning as intended on our end.  Mr. [redacted] contacted Angie’s List on March 24th, 2015 indicating he wanted to cancel his membership.  His membership status was changed to ensure that no further monthly fees would be charged.  Mr. [redacted] did not indicate to us that he wanted a refund.   I have refunded Mr. [redacted] in the amount of $3.00.   I find it regrettable that Mr. [redacted] was left feeling no other recourse than contacting the Revdex.com. We strive to provide top-notch customer service to our members and it is clear from the tone of thiscomplaint that we have missed the mark.  Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Please let me know if we can provide any further information.   Kind Regards,   Mindy O[redacted]Angie’s List

complaints filed against our company.    I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Ms. [redacted] for any confusion regarding her membership.   All of our memberships do default to an automatic renewal. Our auto renewal program was implemented as a result of member feedback indicating it would be convenient to renew without being required to call or mail in a request to do so. We acknowledge that with every improvement, we run the risk of offending a small portion of our members. Some people, caught off guard when their renewal goes through, clearly do not benefit from this intended convenience. Because of this, Angie’s List strives to make sure that each member has the opportunity to learn about the program prior to paying for a membership. We also email members prior to the renewal date to notify them of the upcoming charge.   Ms. [redacted] has already been in contact with a supervisor at Angie’s List and her concerns were in the process of being addressed and handled.  The recent membership charge was refunded and two checks are being issued to cover all overdraft fees, totaling $105.  These checks are being overnighted to Ms. [redacted] to avoid any further overdraft fees.   I find it regrettable that we have failed Ms. [redacted]. We strive to provide top-notch service to our members. Again, we sincerely apologize for the frustration this has caused.   Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Please let me know if we can provide any further information.    Jesse M[redacted] Angie’s List

complaints filed against our company.  I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Mr. [redacted] for the frustration this process has caused.  Mr. [redacted] purchased an offer from the company [redacted] on April 25, 2015.  Mr. [redacted] requested a refund and was asked to fill out a refund form, as we do with all customers for refund requests in order to track and investigate providers if warranted.  No fraud occurred with Angie’s List.  We are in communication with the provider at this time regarding the provider not honoring the deals that he had posted on Angie’s List.   Mr. [redacted]’s refund was processed the same day the refund form was submitted. He was refunded in full for $197.00.  I find it regrettable that we left Mr. [redacted] feeling he had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.com. [redacted] and his concerns very seriously, and even prior to the submission of this complaint, management has been working directly with him to resolve any and all concerns.  We value Mr. [redacted]’s business and we are doing what we can to find mutually acceptable solutions.  At this point, it seems that we will be able to find a suitable agreement with Mr. [redacted] that will allow him to continue working with us at Angie’s List and have a follow-up call scheduled to revisit any of his remaining concerns in mid-May.In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer has been disappointed with their experience with Angie’s List. you. I first wanted to apologize to Mr. [redacted]or any frustration he has experienced as a result of our policy change. On 11/12/2015, Mr. [redacted] electronically agreed to advertise with Angie’s List for one year per the attached agreement.  We require each prospective advertiser to sign a contract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevant categories and the ad rate a service provider must pay for these services. Each contract includes a standard cancellation fee of 35% of the remaining balance of the agreement.  We have reviewed our sales process, and though we feel strongly that we did properly describe the nature of our Fetch program as it existed, we agree that the policy around that program changed shortly thereafter.  Due to Mr. [redacted] being dissatisfied with this change, we have agreed to waive our standard Early Termination Fee for the contract.  We will process a refund for this amount, as it was already charged to him.  In terms of the portion of his advertising term that already ran, his advertisement was running as he agreed, and this payment was due for services rendered.  As such, no refund will be offered for the advertisement’s initial period. I have also set up Mr. [redacted]’s free listing for Maestro [redacted] Studio so that he does not receive further contact from our advertising sales teams, as he requested. In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their experience with Angie’s List. We strive to provide top-notch customer service, and would welcome another chance to work with Mr. [redacted]’s business.   Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Please let me know if we can provide any further information.  Kind regards, Jesse [redacted] Angie’s List

our company.  In response to Mr. [redacted] complaint, there appears to be two distinct issues he is presenting.First, it appears as though he is accusing both Angie’s list and his competitor of featuring an offer through the Big Deal program that contains equipment that is no longer being manufactured, which he claims presents a fraudulent “bait and switch” experience for Angie’s list members. Per EPA regulations passed recently, 13 Seer units are no longer allowed to be manufactured as they have been deemed less efficient than new 14 Seer and above units, causing more strain on the environment and resources. However, the regulations stipulate that all currently existing inventory be allowed to be sold, bought, and serviced until it is exhausted. Having an abundance of this inventory, Mr. [redacted] competitor has merely chosen to exhaust it through the use of one of our advertising and marketing platforms that we offer to eligible service providers on Angie’s list. Second, Mr. [redacted] appears to be upset that the growth of his business does not align with the success he wishes and feels that Angie’s list and/or his competitor are responsible for his results. Both Mr. [redacted] and his competitor advertise through Angie’s list. Angie’s list does not, will not, and cannot guarantee any specific results as a bi-product of advertising through our site or other such marketing platforms as The Big Deal or eCommerce. As advertisers, both companies have been eligible and been given the opportunity to take advantage of all advertising mediums available. To suggest that Angie’s list has prevented Mr. [redacted] or any other business’s ability to compete on a level playing field is erroneous, and can be refuted through the mere proof that Mr. [redacted] business has participated in dozens of eCommerce platforms as well as traditional web-placement advertising. We hope this shines some light on the situation and would be glad to answer any additional questions or concerns you may have as they pertain to Angie’s list business practices across the industry.Kind regards, Jesse B[redacted]Angie’s List

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  While we will have to agree to disagree regarding Angie's List's responsibility vis-à-vis credit card charges and disclaimers removing liability in the eyes of the law, I am satisfied with this result.  I asked for a refund and I confirm that I have received it.
Thank you for your time,

first wanted to apologize to [redacted] for any poor customer service he has received. On 7/21/2015, [redacted] agreed to advertise with Angie’s List for one year per the attached agreement.  We require each prospective advertiser to sign a contract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevant categories and the ad rate a service provider must pay for these services. Each contract includes a standard cancellation fee of 35% of the remaining balance of the agreement.  [redacted]’s complaint was not entirely clear to us, and though his account manager reached out to try to answer any questions, we were still not confident we understood all of his issues.  We do hope to continue to work with [redacted], and have full confidence in his term of advertising being successful and mutually beneficial for Appliance Medic and Angie’s List.  That said, if [redacted] does not feel confident enough to continue our advertising relationship, we have agreed to waive our standard Early Termination Fee for the contract.  He would be not be refunded, as he has not paid ahead on his contract and the only fees he has paid have been for services already rendered.  [redacted] has been in contact with his account manager, who is able to help him process this cancellation if he chooses to.In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their experience with Angie’s List. We do still hope to have a productive and satisfying advertising relationship with [redacted], but want to make sure he feels that he has options and we value him as a customer.   Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Zervakos signed an agreement with Angie’s List on June 12, 2015, authorizing an early termination fee of 35% of the total contract value, we have decided to honor his request by waiving this early termination fee.  Though we did in fact process Mr. Zervakos’s list of customers, and in fact he received a review as a result of this, we concede that we did not clearly answer his questions or make this clear to him.  We would have preferred to continue working with Island Life Pools and Spas as an advertiser on Angie’s List, but given that Mr. Zervakos is no longer willing to advertise with us, we will waive the early termination fee and contact the collections agency to close this file.In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their experience with Angie’s List. We appreciate the feedback and ability to correct this situation to some extent. Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I missed this link on the side of the page at first. I tried to complete the cancellation through Angie's list and that never happened so as of today they charged us another billing period. I really hope they reimburse us for the payment we made on a contract that was cancelled. I'm not sure if this requires more response, or me missing the confirmation on the side of the web page allows Angie's list to move forward with billing. I apologize fully for the miscommunication. I look forward to hearing back from you!

... I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Mr. [redacted] for the additional email he received on 11/20/2016.   Angie’s List is currently investigating this email send on 11/20/2016 that may have been received by members who have unsubscribed from emails.  At this time, to assure Mr. [redacted] does not receive any additional emails from Angie’s List, I have removed his email address from his profile.    In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their experience with Angie’s List. We strive to provide top-notch customer service.   Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint.
