you. I first wanted to apologize to Mr. [redacted]or any frustration he has experienced as a result of our policy change. On 11/12/2015, Mr. [redacted] electronically agreed to advertise with Angie’s List for one year per the attached agreement.  We require each prospective advertiser to sign a contract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevant categories and the ad rate a service provider must pay for these services. Each contract includes a standard cancellation fee of 35% of the remaining balance of the agreement.  We have reviewed our sales process, and though we feel strongly that we did properly describe the nature of our Fetch program as it existed, we agree that the policy around that program changed shortly thereafter.  Due to Mr. [redacted] being dissatisfied with this change, we have agreed to waive our standard Early Termination Fee for the contract.  We will process a refund for this amount, as it was already charged to him.  In terms of the portion of his advertising term that already ran, his advertisement was running as he agreed, and this payment was due for services rendered.  As such, no refund will be offered for the advertisement’s initial period. I have also set up Mr. [redacted]’s free listing for Maestro [redacted] Studio so that he does not receive further contact from our advertising sales teams, as he requested. In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their experience with Angie’s List. We strive to provide top-notch customer service, and would welcome another chance to work with Mr. [redacted]’s business.   Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Please let me know if we can provide any further information.  Kind regards, Jesse [redacted] Angie’s List

Angie's List has been in contact with this customer.  We have cancelled their membership and issued a refund, as requested.  We hope this customer will consider us for future needs!

side of the story regarding complaints filed against our company.  I apologize for the delay in my response.   I first wanted to apologize to Mr. [redacted] for any frustration he has experienced during the sale or cancellation of his advertisement.   On 9/3/2015, Mr. Our advertising can never guarantee lead generation or a certain number of phone calls per week; instead it guarantees placement on the website.   We have reviewed our sales process and customer service interactions with Mr. [redacted]. We would have preferred to continue working with [redacted]’s [redacted] as an advertiser on Angie’s List, but given that Mr. [redacted] is no longer willing to advertise with us and in light of any misunderstanding or customer service issues over the duration of his advertising, we will consider his contract cancelled and have agreed to waive our standard Early Termination Fee for this contract. We will also be retroactively cancelling Mr. [redacted]’s contract dating back to 5/19, due to his original request. Kind regards,       Jesse B[redacted] Angie’s List

regarding complaints filed against our company.  I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Ms. [redacted] for the frustration this process has caused.  Ms. [redacted] purchased a Big Deal from the company, [redacted] on March 30, 2015.  I’m so sorry there were scheduling issues with [redacted].   A refund in the amount of $40.01 was processed on Monday, 4/13/15 for the Big Deal purchase.  An additional refund of $9.99 will be refunded as well for her membership fees per her request.  This will process through our accounting department and will take around a week for her to receive.  I find it regrettable that we left Ms. [redacted] feeling she had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.com. We strive to provide top-notch service to our members. It is clear from the tone of this complaint that we missed the mark, and I apologize for that.     Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Please let me know if we can provide any further information.   Kind regards,   [redacted]Angie’s List

complaints filed against our company.    I first wanted to apologize to Ms. [redacted] for any frustration she has experienced during the contract renewal process.   I have reviewed customer service interactions with Ms. [redacted]. Victoria J[redacted] and her manager, Andrea L[redacted] have both been working with Ms. [redacted] to attempt to set up her contract satisfactorily.  These contracts are dictated by our Legal Department and must adhere to certain guidelines and verbiage.  We have made concessions to include the zone information into Ms. [redacted]’s contract, which has caused the verbiage of the contract to be reorganized into a different format.  The same verbiage from her previous contract still exists and the zones have been added accordingly, as Ms. [redacted] has requested.  I have addressed the concern with Victoria J[redacted] and Andrea L[redacted].  They would be happy to speak with Ms. [redacted] to help get her contract signed and her advertisements renewed.   In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their contract renewal experience with Angie’s List. We strive to provide top-notch customer service.   Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
In addition to the proposed solution, I am asking for a total refund of payments made.  I received no calls and no benefits whatsoever to the advertising I paid for.  Angie's List should stand by their efforts to produce at least some business for those who advertise.  To pay such monthly fees of 384.90 and receive nothing is shameful at best on their part.  This solution proposed by them would put me $769.80 in the negative with nothing to show for it.  Also, it was their fault that they did not clarify that the 5 rating minimum must include Angie's List members.  I was told that they did NOT need to be members.  This was a major problem that cost me calls and put my business way down on the list where no one would call me.  I was told that I was listed at number 6 at best.  Nobody ever goes that far down the list to call.  I am the case in point.

Re: Complaint Case # [redacted]

[redacted],

Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention. We appreciate the...

opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed against our company.

I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Ms. [redacted] for the frustration this process has caused.

Ms. [redacted] purchased a Big Deal through Angie’s List on October 23, 2014 from [redacted]. The Big Deal was $85 Rodent Exclusion Package, and stated that it covered inspection to find potential rodent entry points and seal them off, installation of rodent baiting stations in the home to eliminate any existing activity, advice on future rodent-proofing of your home, and materials used for minor and common entry ways on ground-level exclusion work.

Because the company did begin to fulfill the terms of the package, Angie’s List is unable to issue a refund of the Big Deal to Ms. [redacted]. [redacted] is ultimately responsible for the quality of their work and the experience their customers have. In turn, they are also responsible for resolving any complaints that they receive from members because of their work. If problems arise, we strongly suggest contacting any service provider directly to see if they would be able to come to a resolution. Additionally, we suggest leaving a review via our website, to inform other members about the experience she encountered, as well as impact the provider’s grade on the List.

I find it regrettable that we left Ms. [redacted] feeling she had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.com. We strive to provide top-notch service to our members. As Ms. [redacted] has requested, I have stopped future renewals of her membership.

Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Please let me know if we can provide any further information.

Kind regards,

Re: Complaint Case # [redacted],
Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints...

filed against our company.
I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Ms. [redacted] for any frustration or confusion regarding her membership.
Ms. [redacted] has been a member of Angie’s List since at least 2009. During the years between now and when she first signed up, she has utilized our automatic renewal feature for some years, and chose to manually renew her membership during other years. Though our membership agreement does advise that our default setting for memberships involves automatic renewal, we are always happy to change any member’s billing status upon request.
I have reached out personally to Ms. [redacted] via phone and email to offer to set her account’s billing up however she likes. We even have a free Green membership available if she prefers to change to that option. I am especially concerned by Ms. [redacted]’s mention of emailing us with no response, as I do not see records of those emails from our end. I would love to work directly with her to investigate these and be sure we responded to any and all inquiries.
Ms. [redacted] last renewed her membership in August of 2016. Though we do not normally offer refunds for renewals after 30 days from the renewal, I have made an exception and issued a refund of her most recent renewal. I have also left her account active through her expiration date next August.
I find it regrettable that we left Ms. [redacted] feeling she had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.com. We strive to provide top-notch service to our members. I would welcome Ms. [redacted] to continue to contact me directly so that I can continue assisting her.

Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Please let me know if we can provide any further information.
Kind regards,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
There clearly was confusion or I wouldn't have advertised.  Your sales team even stated "every contract MUST be properly licensed and if someone were to report them they would be immediately removed" which did not happen!  It's sad that you advertise to the general public that your contractors are licensed and insured when as you clearly are admitting is not the case.  You should require every advertising contractor to provide a copy of their license prior advertising if you are going to deceive the public.  What does the IRS audits have to do with contractor's licenses?  You are just adding more fluff and Angies's List always does.  Additionally I am not an attorney so not everything is clear in your lengthy contracts and descriptions which your legal department knows I will have leverage due to not being an attorney.  I will sue you if I have to although I'm giving you this final opportunity to reimburse me.  Once my first year was about up I notified Kirk F[redacted] that I was not going to resign.  At this time he notified me about the fetch list and guaranteed that I would get reviews as I had over 3000 regular customers.  The only catch was I had to resign.  I'm a business owner that is trying to grow my business so all I want was Angie's List to work for me.  Obviously I did not make the best decisions as I was constantly given the run around by your team.  Anyways I resigned, you ran the fetch list and I DID NOT get one single review from it.  So here we go again..... Did you even attempt to help get me reviews?  No you did not.  I emailed everyone of my customers asking if Angie's List contacted them for reviews and not one single customer said they even heard from you except the getting advertisements to become members.  So the fact is all you did with MY CUSTOMER LIST was try to get them to buy memberships.  I'm sure my attorneys will have a field day with you.We both know the only reason you reimbursed me for my other business, [redacted], was because I complained to the Revdex.com.  You DID NOT give me an extra month.  I told you to cancel the contract which you refused until 3 or 4 months later.  At that time you refused to reimburse me for the overage and refused to provide detailed billing summaries.  You stated you also had documented proof of me agreeing to continue which you also failed to provide.  The fact is you attempted to take advantage of me so I took the complaint here.  As I continue to do more research this appears to be the norm with your unhappy customers.  You should not be allowed to get away with it.At this point its more of the principle than the money.  You are an unethical company and I will expose you if you do not refund me.My attorney is copied here.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]Angie's List is not willing to remove the bogus review even if their member does not respond. I feel that if he does not respond in a reasonable amount of time the review should be removed.

story regarding complaints filed against our company.    I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Mr. [redacted] for the poor experience with our website.  He did indeed sign up for a one-year membership on 1/29/2017.  Unfortunately, we do not have records of any attempted contact, via phone or email, so I am not sure why his messages have not come through to us.   I have also reached out directly to Mr. [redacted] to advise of the email address associated with his membership and to reset his password and provide my direct phone number and email address, in case I can be of further assistance.  I am happy to extend his membership for free to help make up for any issues experienced.   I find it regrettable that we left Mr. [redacted] feeling he had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.com.
