I am sorry that you don't believe our tech's recommendation but there is more going on with the system than just clogged filtersWe went out and maintained your system over the last few years and you are saying that no one ever mentioned that you should change your filtersHomeowners are suppose
to change their disposable filters once a month we are only at your home twice a yearWe do clean washable filters but we do not carry disposable filters due to all the different sizesSince you believe that our tech mis diagnosed your system we will refund you the $that you were charged for the service callWe do not want to create more work for ourselves since we are working all hours right now to run the calls we haveDiagnosing a system is not a perfect science and there are times that multiple things are wrong with an older system and am willing to bet that dirty filters is not the only reason that your system froze up

We spoke to this customer this morning and she received a check for $which was a large part of the rebateThe remaining $was sent out and the customer should receive shortlyWhen a customer is suppose to receive a manufacturer rebate we send in the paperwork and the manufacturer is
suppose to process this said rebateThis causes us to lose control of the rebate and we have to rely on the manufacturer to process which in this case they did not processWe decided to give the customer their rebate and go after the manufacturer to be refunded

When the field supervisor Steve S*** came to our house he was pleasant He told us our air conditioning unit needed to be replaced since it wasn't taking freon and he showed us (my sister and I) that the gauges were not even or equalSo he also continued to say we had a blockage in the line and there was no way to replace it or clean it outWe thought that was weird since the air conditioning was working fine the day before he showed up He said you need a new one and gave us prices so we took this as we need a second opinion and he said fine and wrote down how much one would be and didn't charge us, which I found weirdThis was a Thursday and on Sunday we had another air conditioning guy come over and you know what he found, a wire was pulled off so the compressor would not turn on making the gauges show that the freon was not thereWhen it was put back on the compressor turned on and the gauges were equal like they were suppose to be I would never recommend Orangutan home services to my worst enemy let alone my friends or familyThey tried to rip us off for $

I spoke with Jeff yesterday 8/he did offer me for the issues we have hadThey are also suppose to be installing
a new counter top, painting the kitchen walls, and re-doing the kitchen back splash on the 11thSo far there has been no phone calls telling me there are any problems which has happened a few times alreadySo I am hoping all is still good.

We have a ten year extended warranty with them for a new trane air conditioner We are now yrs into it and they have honored it up till nowNow that the manufacture warranty is done, they have told us we will have to pay labor and parts I asked the technician to explain that to me We went around and around with thisHe would say with one breath, we wouldn't have to pay parts and labor and with another breath he would say we would have to pay labor and parts All he wanted to do is sell us more things.( With every visit they made they wanted to sell us something We were up to over three thousand dollars in products, parts and labor They came out and checked our air conditioner on June for our annual check up We told them we were going to be gone for a month We came back on July and our air conditioner broke on July 24th Called them and they came our on 25that 7:pmPut some Freon and left This is their usual with us, put Freon and leave They just put a band-aid on the problem We waited over a month later for them to come out and found the problem but they never called I finally called them and told them I was not happy with their service, and I wanted a technician to come out and find the problemWhen the technician can in he said, he was just going to call me but that I had called before him I told him that they were just putting a band-aid on the problem and not fixing the problem He said I was right, they had done that He said a coil was leaking and they couldn't pin point the leak We had another Air Conditioning Cocome in and look for the leak and they found none
A few yrsago we called in on a Friday because our air went out They said nobody work on weekends So we went through the weekend with no air in the summer in AZWe will not have them in our house again because we can't trust them

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Since we had a contract with American Home Maintenance (Orangataung) they should have notified us of this so called change of service areaWhen we called for our regularly scheduled preventive maintenance we were informed of thisWe will be watching the surrounding area to see if any orangataung service trucks are ever in the neighborhood.
We had a reputable air conditioning company out today and the fixed the problem that was never fixed last year by American Home maintenanceYes, I want a refund BACK TO THE DATE they claim they changed their service area. My name is *** *** not *** *** as they implied!

Orangutan’s Response is as follows:
The coil was ordered twice and the incorrect part came in. In order to take care of the customer, Orangutan paid over $1,to have another contractor install the coil. Orangutan believes this has fully resolved the complaint as Mr*** continues to use Orangutan’s services

I can provide a copy of the service receipt in which we paid for pounds of freon There was NOTHING WRONG WITH THE THERMOSTAT Even if there had been, it was initially installed by Orangatun when they installed the air conditioner just years earlier! Thermostats last longer than years! Funny how this all happens less than year out of warranty! The reason the air conditioner wasn't performing at below degrees was because it was low on freon I was informed that there is NO WAY a freon leak would not have been NOTICED just months earlier, if the technician was a qualified technician and there was this amount of freon needed in this short period of time This is a malicious attempt to get repeat service by the service person and I understand is a complaint many have made on behalf of Orangatun In other words, THEY HAVE A HISTORY OF DRUMMING UP BUSINESS IN THIS WAY! This business needs to stop sucking unsuspecting customers of their money! I am demanding a refund of 1) the charge that was made to service the air conditioner in which a malicious attempt to release freon was made in order to drum up return servicing 2) a refund for the service by a QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN that was performed to replace the released freon and now 3) (thank you for reminding me) a charge for reimbursement of the (no so defective) thermostat that was replace through advice of Orangutan via a verbal call The culprit to our air conditioning problem was the supposed leak in the system that required pounds of freon to be re-added!

We are no further along at this time, July 31st, then we were when this complaint was filed I can see by the business response that they are waiting for the *** unit to arrive, however, we still are waiting for the first unit to be completed (relay panel and thermostat installed) We did have a visit from a techon 7-but he still did not have the relay panel thus was unable to install thermostat to complete the install of the first unit We have not heard anything since this visit.

The refund for *** *** was sent his on 12/15/in the amount of $for the hotel, it should have been received by now. As far as the $for a drain pan that we did not install, we never charged for the drain pan on and the invoice reflects that

On March 5th Ms*** purchased a new HVAC system, Aeroseal and attic insulation from Orangutan Home Services. On March 19th OHS installed the new HVAC system, on April 20th the Aeroseal and attic insulation crew went out to the to Ms***’s house to
do the remainder of the job. The crew performed the pre-test for the Aeroseal; the pre-test showed there was less then 25cfm air loss and no need to do the Aeroseal. There would be no benefit to the customer by performing this service. OHS is sending Ms*** a check for $for this service not needing to be performed. The techs then installed the attic insulation at the residence. Since Ms*** purchased everything as a discounted package deal, it took a little longer to figure out the refund amount. We wanted to make sure she got the correct amount back. I (Scott, Director of Services) spoke with Ms*** on 4/and scheduled for a crew to return on 4/after 3:to straighten some crooked registers and clean off some fingerprints that the last crew left behind. Apparently there was a misunderstanding, Ms*** was under the impression we would be there at 3:and OHS thought we just needed to be there after 3:00, we cannot give exact times since we can’t predict exactly how long the previous job will take, this is why we give windows of time. We can schedule to get back out to Ms***’s house at her earliest convenience to complete the last couple of concerns of hers

Phoenix is having a heat waveor so I am toldI just moved from there last weekBefore moving I received a missed call and attempted to call Orangatan Plumbing that I did not appreciate the unsolicited call and ask that they take me off of their calling listI was on hold for around minutes listening to their inane hold music and decided I could hold no longer and hoped it was a single robo-call
Today I received a new call at home home in Oregon which I missedI decided to call back and get them to remove me from their marketing listAn hour later and I was still on hold! My phone died before I ever reached anyone to get my name removed from their listAn hour! I understand they are quite busy with the heatwave, but maybe they should unplug their marketing robocaller if they are so busy that they cannot answer a phone call in an hour or lessWhat if I actually needed service? More importantly what if I was an existting customer who needed something? Service in the AC business is key especially if you are a poor sap in AZ with a broken unitI would advise others to steer clear of this company if you want a business with any foresight and sense to make service a priorityI for one still wonder if they will make another attempt to gain me as a customer when they so clearly cannot handle the volume of work they have right now.BTW weren't cold-calling marketing calls to cell phones outlawed? Buyer beware I smell amateurism and some primitive primate brains at work here

We have been using this Company for warranty service in Tucson for yearsWe have never had a problem with them charging us for things we don't need and they always arrive on schedule

THEY ARE ALSO LOOKING INTO WITH *** TO REPLACE UNIT SINCE IT HAD SO MANY ISSUES FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE
Regards,*** ***

*** *** *** with Orangutan previously American Home MaintenanceThis interaction just happened around 3/1/
I bought a $Air Conditioner from *** ***At the time the name was American Home Maintenance now doing business as Orangutan, and they being the installer said they found and welded a pin hole leakI told them times to take it off my roof the day of installationThey said this happens all the time but we will extend your warranty to years to shut me upI thought I over reacted possiblyBut next year the system ran all summer and it seemed to get hotter until the end of summer it was blowing hot airThe pin hole weld they did leaked my Freon out
I called AHM/Orangutan to fix it which they didThen it happens again after the warranty they offered expired and they said they have to sell me a new warrantyI told AHM/Orangutan that they never fixed it in the first place so either fix it now or take it off my roof nowThey refused both options and wrote in their system that it was me refusing their service
I got another company to weld the AC in the same place AHM/Orangutan had previously welded and it lasted years after AHM/Orangutan worked on itI thought I was in the clearWell the pipe exploded from all the welding they had done previouslySo I paid $to replace the Pipe and the Freon with another companyIt lasted all summer but at the end of the summer the Compressor blew upSince the AC was constantly running low on Freon the Compressor heats up and lowers the lifespan
I was under Parts warranty so I called *** *** and got a month run around from Nash and Jerome ASM, only to be required to talk to Orangutan who said I refused service and went with another company so they are not responsible anymoreI eventually escalated to Atlanta Headquarters for *** *** since they do not give out District Manager namesI was told District Manager was my referenceWhat a joke!
I was referred to *** at ###-###-#### and seemed like he would be able to helpAfter a week of waiting and being put off *** finally called me back and said they can't help me since Orangutan only shows some type of service was performed, not WeldingI said so how did my air go from warm to cool? I told *** the *** *** Rep all the details and said why would I call and make something up and by the way there is only one weld spot on the unitSo it had to be welded there times by AHM/OrangutanOne on the install day and the second a year laterThe third time AHM/Orangutan refused to service their work
Why would I give them a third try anyways since they couldn't fix it the first two times
Well I come to find out AHM changed their name to Orangutan since they had to file bankruptcyNow it seems like *** *** is Collluding with Orangutan, A guy named *** at Orangutan must have purged my history or changed it to look like they just showed up to say Hi, or this could be something they didn't enter on purpose when they have trouble with installsThis was the reasoning *** *** gave me for not being able to fix or Replace the ACThe references matched the dates I gave too just no info about the work doneEven though I am calling and telling them what was done and on top of the Bankruptcy Name Change of Orangutan this means *** *** is also Colluding with Orangutan
No one would even talk to *** on my behalf since I am stuck with the service Orangutan/AHM provided and have no recourse through *** *** since they pretend that they are required to talk to OrangutanCollusion in its most elegant form, down to Delay tactics as I was required to have an AHM/Orangutan tech look at the AC to be able to get restitution supposedlyWhen the tech came out from Orangutan he said he couldn't test the compressor since the Freon was lowSo I would have to pay $just for a leak test and then find out if my compressor was badWell there was oil everywhere and the system ran all summer cold and then suddenly would not turn onSounds like a Compressor to me, and I hired another company to verify it was the compressor after Orangutan's visit
This tech really came out to see if I had receipts of other work being done so they could refuse me that way alsoSo the work done after them voids their shoddy work in the first place
*** *** would not deal with *** on my behalf due to Orangutan's underhanded collusive tactics
