We have been with Orangutan Home Service for a few years now and found that they have a certain pattern of their work that is negative
For example, today they called at 10:to tell me the repairman wouldn't be able to make it out because of family emergencyThey gave me a window of 8:00-10:am when the appointment was made and then this morning a little after 7:am I got a call stating the repairman would be on his way We waited all morning and then at the last minute got the message
Sometimes I have to call them after waiting all day of the window with no show and no call letting me know what was going onI regularly have to call them
The other problem is they apparently find something wrong with old costumer units they work on and always make suggestions of what is neededAfter being told our unit should be replaced instead of more repairs, it was their suggestion to buy a new one from them
At the time we trusted them and bought a new heat pump which made it a contract to have their service while it was on the labor warranty of one year
After months the unit stopped working and we couldn't get anybody out for several days and then it took nearly weeks before the repair was completed My family was in home temperature of degrees during that time
We are now on our 3rd repair of this year & month old Lennox heat pumpOur labor warranty ended in May so we had to pay for Freon to be replaced when it had just been replaced in April of this year
We just found out that with the labor warranty being ended so is our contract with Orangutan service which we will no longer do business with them We are even paid in full for several years of no charge maintenance so you know how bad of service we think they provide

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Orangutan did send out a crew to repair the drywall that was removed at my cost due to the water damage. The drywall and floor board repair was done to my satisfaction but I am still $out of pocket due to Orangutan initially refusing to remove and repair the drywall. The removal of the drywall was completed by Preferred Choice Restoration, whom Orangutan sent to my home to check the damage. Orangutan then refused to pay for the removal and repair of the damage. Due to the growth of mold I had PCR remove and treat the affected areas. I was charged $150 for that work

Very Suspicious BehaviorToday I had my annual Heating check Preventive Maintenance Inspection for my homeWe have two Central HVAC units with two condensers mounted at the side of the houseThe tech was suppose to do the "heating" system check as the AC system check was done in the springAnyway, we is outside at the AC Condenser units and comes back inside the home and says that he says the AC inoperableI found that hard to believe since it was operating just fine before he arrivedHe said he could troubleshoot the problem for me with diagnostics, but that it would cost $I said no, button it up and I'll call the Home Warranty company for repairsHe then leftHe didn't bother to check the second unit and I'm still scratching my head why he is wanting to run AC checks when he is suppose to be doing a heating checkBased upon immediately jumping to the diagnostic fee of $is suspiciousI believe the technician may have broke or disconnected something just to get the $fee out of us but was disheartened when he found out I had a home warranty company that would take care of itI will be extremely aware and observant the next time a tech comes to my home to workUnfortunately I have another years left on my Preventive Maintenance Service contract with this companyI wish now that I could get my money backI think they are just trying to get more money out of customers

My experience with Orangutan has been horrible , frustrating and infuriating I have had good neutral and 6-bad experiencesThey have set appointments and don't keep them, they order parts and don't call to let you know the part is in when can we come out , and they lie ( oh the part just came in - I work at the post office it doesn't take weeks for it to come in the mail I guarantee that ) the company that I started with later merged with Orangutan , the only people who I would recommend them to is someone who I hate , and I don't have enemies that bad I would never recommend them to family or friends Again it's not been or bad experiences it's been many I'm not the dramatic type just the opposite but I would rather shoot myself in the foot than to deal with them unfortunately they have my warranty but it's been so bad that on occasion I paid another company to fix the problem , and every time they come I think of doing it every time If your thinking of calling them for service just think of how pleasurable it would be to shoot yourself in the foot , that'll be your experience

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 11692744, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolvedEven though Arangutan's statement was not entirely accurate - they did not insure that we had cooling during the entire process - we are accepting this ressolution because we do not want to deal with that company ever again However, if the refund is not calculated properly, we will submit another claim with the Revdex.com

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I received the following: Handwritten apology from *** ***, the employee for whom I expressed the complaint, and a note that states: DEAR MS *** DUE TO THE DATE OF THE FIRST INVOICE REQUESTED INVOICE #*** THE ORIGINAL IS NOT READILY AVAILABLE SO I INCLUDED A COPY FROM OUR COMPANY RECORDS (note: #below references this invoice) I received a typed invoice from the services rendered 01/08/ However, the 20% discount I should received was not reflected The charge for the Compressor Assist Start Relay was unit priced at $ I paid a total of $($plus $ (Note: this is for the non-Trane start kit) Therefore, *** owes me $for this visit. I received a copy of Invoice *** dated 9/13/ This invoice does not match my pink NCR customer copy of ***; the copy I actually signed. My original pink customer copy does not have information they are now showing on the invoice. The copy they sent has the following information on it: Trane Manufacturer Startkit @519.35/pma: $415.48/Total: $366.75 In the Comments section, they have: "Customer paid $plus tax of $20.98, for a total of $ Didn't give 20% off for PMA." I received a check dated September 19, 2014, in the a**unt of $(check #105277). My concerns at this point are: a Invoice P*** does not reflect the 20% discount (why is this not reflected?) b Invoice P*** (their copy sent and my original are not reflecting the same information) Why? c I still cannot reconcile the $for the wrong start kit installed in January Is the $check I received for part of this? I have all copies given to me by the technicians of the visits from ***I am happy to provide this information as it appears *** and I do not have the same information. I do not at this time feel this issue is not resolved.

I was very pleased with Dave B*** of this companyWe thought we had a water heater leakHe arranged to come out the same dayAfter looking at the situation he determined it wasn't the water heater, but the AC condenserWe were happy that he could repair/replace this and helped us with other problems we had been havingIt was nice having a pleasant and experienced worker to handle an unexpected problem

Orangutan representative said water heater would be installed between 8-10am He also said, "month zero percent financing was accepted, I would pay $per momth no interest, and installer would come with papers to review and sign"
Installer showed up at 1:16pm, did not have any finance paperwork to reveiw Financing was never truly approved and ended up being equal payments of $with a 16.9% monthly accrued interest starting from date of install If payments did not pay off full balance 16.9% on the Worst possible agreement begins OHS previously installed an AC unit but will not honor their own warranty repair-work for known bad Airhandler and starting circuit components 11monthes into a 20year warranty
All time worst company with "bait and switch sales tactics" ever
To top it off the installer told me after the old water heater was removed *** ** *** * *** *** *** *** ** *** ** *** *** *** *** ** *** *** ** *** *** ** *** *** *** ** *** *** *** ** *** *** ** ***

On the date of the service call *** *** talked to our Tech *** and reduced the price from $to $450. *** spoke to the customer today 11/26/and explained again the cost would only be $450. The customer agreed and it is scheduled for repair on 11/28/

To Whom it may concern, In regards to complaint #***, I have attempted to contact *** *** the last days on May 28th, I called the customer and somebody picked up the phone but did not say anythingI also called on
May 29th, and the call was sent to voice mailIf you have any questions please contact me at the information below.Thank You,*** ***Director of Service and InstallOrangutan *** Service's

I left a message fro *** *** on 10/31/at am apologizing for one of my employees being rude. I advise her we will be send her in the mail today an apology letterand a copy of the records she requested

Had them put in a new air unit Shortly after had a problem They come out to fix itthen shortly after that they told me I needed a txv I told them I would not pay for it because they did damage with a blowtorch to the unit They agree to fix OK fine 2yrs late I was told by LUIS a tech all they did was replace the txv powerhead Now I have to pay $to fix itthey lied to me I had someone else fix it for $

We had tried calling the Smith again with no returned message. We re-checked recording and verified service dates and the fact remains there was months without system maintenance. The other company claims they "repaired" the existing coil. The coil is a *** All-Aluminum SpineFin Coil on a packaged system. Our estimate was to replace the entire coil which is an extremely difficult job due to the size, delicacy, and location of the coil. The other company did not explain how they "repaired" the existing aluminum coil. We will agree to returning the $diagnostic fee in good faith and again offer to refund the prorated amount for the extended warranty. As far as the leak repair, we would like to reinspect the system to see what was repaired and how it was done. We would be willing to join the other company out to the home

The manufacturer did reimburse us for the part that is what the warranty is for. The cost of labor, Freon, administration, fuel, insurance, and all other relative cost are built into our pricing not to mention profitThe fact that we did not itemize the invoice does not discount the cost to replace the part. Mr*** has every right to shop the cost of a repair before the work is done. His warranty can be honored by any
authorized Rheem dealer. I will offer a $customer good will credit from the repairs made but this is a one time offer and after today there will be no offers made

I left a message for *** *** to discuss but no return call yet. She seems to be asking about a service call we did in November of 2012. If that is the service call she is asking about then we did charge her a $diagnostic fee. I am willing to refund the $she paid
even though the *** *** Warranty does have a diagnostic fee charge. The allegation that Orangutan techs would "destroy" her unit is far fetched. The *** *** does specify that the unit must be maintained yearly in order to keep the warranty in effect. Any company can perform the maintenance as long as there is written proof from a licensed contractor. As far as I know Orangutan is the only company left in Arizona that still honors the *** *** Warranty. In order to put a claim through *** ***, we are the only contractor that can take care of thatIf she chooses to have another company repair her unit they will not be able to utilize the *** *** benefits
