Review: Called Appliance Repair Jan 26th in morning and Mr. [redacted] and [redacted] came out that morning and were here 45 min. The refrigerator was cycling too much. Compressor relay was replaced, also adjustment to door. Was still cycling too much the next day. I waited a week to call hoping it would start working correctly. Talked to Mrs. [redacted] she said they would return my call they didn't. I left a number of messages on their answering machine. Called [redacted] 3/3/15 - was told it was a compressor problem - was told to unplug refrigerator for 60 seconds to reset compressor relay. It helped some but still cycling too much. Also they told me there could be a warranty on replacement part.Desired Settlement: Try a new compressor relay to see if the one installed is faulty or refund payment.

Response:

Mrs [redacted] called my office on January 26th 2014 about her [redacted] refrigerator cycling too much. She was asked a few questions to which her answers were NO was the food in the freezer thawing? No was the food in the refrigerator section (milk, eggs, lettuce, etc. ) frozen? NO This information is important because if the compressor or the relay that starts the compressor is faulty or not cycling properly she would lose food. If the refrigerator section is cycling too much it will freeze food. Her complaint has never been about losing food.We tried to talk Mrs. [redacted] out of a service call because we did not feel she had a problem. she insisted we come out and check her refrigerator.[redacted] and I went to [redacted]. and did not find any unusual cycling or temperture problem with her refrigerator. she still insisted she had a problem. We told her we would adjust the door and replace the relay only if she requested it as we still felt she did not have a problem and told her so. She said to do it.In our forty-four years experience it is our opinion Mrs [redacted]'s refrigerator is operating as designed and there is nothing we can do to change the design. We are sorry that she feels we have not treated her fairly but our policy is to give the best service that we can to everyone. We did not do any service Mrs. [redacted] didn't request.Thank you,[redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

I was very pleased with my repair experience. The repairman was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. Their office manager was polite and efficient and their price was reasonable. I would definitely call them again for repair of any of my home appliances. He came the next day, not in two weeks like the nationally known appliance repair service and he had the necessary part with him so an extra trip to get part was not required.

Review: Services was not done once money was paid. Constantly give excuses to keep appointment to come fix appliance. Service man did not look at the appliance thourouly to see where the problem is comming from. Second time service man took the money and never came back to fix the refridgerator. Food is all spoiled because we trusted this service to come and fix our appliance!!Desired Settlement: Refund full amt, because he did not fixed anything but add more damages while waiting!!

Review: I hired him to fix my washer and dryer 6 months ago. He said he would return in a few days to fix it after ordering parts. 2 weeks later we finally call and he s out of town. A week later he s hurt. 2 weeks later he s out of town again. Then he just starts ignoring phone calls and voice mails all together. I finally get him on the phone after yelling and screaming at me he tells me he ll send me a refund. 3 weeks later still nothing.Desired Settlement: I just want my money returned. I live on a fixed income and have been without a washer and dryer for 6 months now.

Review: Prepaid for control board, he did not install board. Call him 5 times he said he would install board but did not show up. He moved to Little River SC said he lost board. Part was order 4/5/2013I ask for refund for board but have not receive it.Desired Settlement: Board Cost was $266.24 I would like refund for this amount.

Review: On 7/31/21013 I called Appliance Repair Service to fix my washer. Tim Secrest was the repairman and owner who came to my home.He said I needed a new pump and needed a new boot due to washer leaking. He repaired the washer with a used pump until he could order one. I waited 2 weeks for parts to come in. I called Aug. 5, and parts were not in. Called Aug 12 and he said parts were in and we had an appointment on Wed August 14th. He did not show. I called again and we had an appointment for August 21. At 5p.m., I called to see when he was coming. He said he was with another customer. I asked again what time I could expect him and he hung up.My husband called to see if he could get service and he had many times open. He then revealed who he was and he said he would be here Monday August 26 @ 9:00am and he would bring biscuits. He never showed and has not contacted us.I paid in full due to the pump he left. $492.00.This has been a bad experience for me.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of everything but the service call. That would be $427.00.

Review: In September 2014 Tim S[redacted] came to my home to look at my portable dishwasher that needed repair. He said he needed $200 for parts upfront. I explained I live on a small Social Security check, and could only afford $100. He took my check for $100, cashed it immediately, and never returned. I never got my money back. I tried to contact him by phone but he either wouldn't answer or his mailbox was full. I did reach him a couple of times and he said he would come back but never did. On the last call he said he would send a check minus his service charge of $65. I called repeatedly asking for my check but I never got it. There are reviews online on different sites from people who also state he took their money and ran.I had the dishwasher repaired by another business and it did not need parts as Tim S[redacted] stated. It only had a leak which was quickly repaired and I paid $85 for them to come out and do it.Desired Settlement: I want my entire $100 back. He came to my home intending to fraud me, lied about the dishwasher needing parts, and he should not be paid $65 for a service call.

Review: On May 17, 2013, Tim Sechrest with Appliance Repair Service arrived at our home to fix our GE Duet Washing Machine. He met my son and told him that he would need to order the MC Board and that he will order it and return the following Monday. My son gave him a check for the full amount #[redacted] for $448.63. When Mr. Sechrest didn't show up to fix the machine or call, my husband phoned him. Again we were told that the part had not come in and that he should be able to fix our machine within the week. It is now June 18, 2013. Mr. Sechrest told me that he was fixing our machine on June 13th, then June 14th. When we call, he doesn't pick up the phone. We are not sure how to handle this now except to take him to small claims court. This is just unacceptable customer service and he was paid before the services were rendered. We just want our money back. Can you help?Desired Settlement: We want our money back $448.63. I have not been able to wash our clothes this entire time. I probably could have purchased a new washing machine for what he charged us with no response to fix the machine.

Review: Tim S[redacted] came to repair my washing machine. He asked for $285 up front for a pump. He was to come back in 2 days and said he was busy, then the next day told my his mother was in the hospital dying. He has stopped taking my calls and texts and cashed my check the next day. The pump wasn't even the problem.Desired Settlement: After reading all the complaints regarding this man, I deserve a full refund. He is only out there to rip people off instead of actually working. He deserves to be in jail.

Review: Dispute is over a refund owed to me for a wash machine repair job. Repairman came to home to repair a wash machine. He said it was the "timer" which would cost $165 + $65 labor + $11 tax totaling $241. I paid him and he purchased the timer showing up two days later to fix. Once the part was replaced the machine still did not work so he said it was the "capasitor." This would require an addtional $35. The next day he arrived to fix and once again the machine did not work. He then said the motor was "blown" and it would be better to purchase a new machine. He agreed to "refund" the $165 for the timer, as I did not pay the $35 for the "capasitor." A day or so went by and I was scheduled to have delivered a "new" wash machine from [redacted]. I spoke with the repair man and he wanted me to have [redacted] sit the old machine out front of my home, as he would stop by and pick that machine up for parts and "refund" me the $165 for the "timer." Upon arrival he told me he could not pay that day, as he was having some "cash-flow" issues. However, he would write me a check and mail it first thing Monday (as this was Saturday night). I said okay and waited until Tuesday with sign of a check. I called him and he claimed to have mailed the check so I waited until Thursday. Again no check and this was mail within the same city. I called him and he said he would come to my home on Friday to pay the refund. Friday he called and gave me an excuse that a family member had been in an accident so he could not come by that day and that he would call later on that evening. I waited until that evening with no call from him and decided I would call. At first he "hung up" on me stating, "there were more pressing issues to deal with than my refund." I called back a second time and stated that if he did not pay by the following day, I would file a claim with the court and Revdex.com. He called back, said he would call me the following day before noon and I never heard from him again.Desired Settlement: Obviously I would like my "refund." However, I realize that would require going to small claims court, which would cost more money and may not yield any results.
