Auto Equity Loans Reviews (92)

Review: A branch of Auto Equity made numorous threatening phone calls to me and discussed information about my account with one of my references(3rd party).

The threatening phone calls stated they where going to reposess the car even though I wasnt in delinquent status. The contract states I am in default after 10 days from the due date. An employee of the branch texted me, call my mother to disclose personal information about the contract with her, and called me numerous times. I called headquarters explaining to them I no longer want to deal with this branch anymore but I was ignored. I know that their actions are illegal and unethical.Desired Settlement: I want to exchange my account to another branch of the company. I havent paid this past months bill yet because of the matter, and will pay after the matter is resolved.

While we always do our best to abide by privacy laws, in order to investigate breaches of these laws we need to know exactly what was said and who said it. Unfortunately, there was not enough information in the complaint to investigate either of these important points. If a violation of the privacy act occurred, we need to know exactly what was said, and to whom.

However, when a customer volunteers contact information in their application, it is explained at that time we have the right to call their contacts if and when they default, or if they do not respond to normal collections calls to their personal number. Essentially, if they give us contact information in the application they've already given us permission to call them. While normally the calls are only messages requesting that we be called back, we are within our rights to state that we only call contacts when we are unable to speak with our client. We do not offer any more information, as policy, in accordance with the law.

As for the grace period, the contract clearly says in the DEFAULT section, article I, that they are in default the day after the due date. Our contractual grace period only describes when we shall choose to charge a late fee. We are aware that some states may give consumers additional rights and obligations other than what is written in the contract. However, if that state has no laws preventing an immediate repossession then the contract takes precedence, which clearly gives us the right to repossess if and when we choose to. As a courtesy we may choose to wait until after the grace period before we exercise that right.

We sincerely hope that the customer contacts us again so we can resolve this issue.

[redacted] are amazing!! They got me the money I needed fast with prompt and courteous service! The interest rates are the best around!! If you need a loan, they are the people to see!!

Review: I have been receiving harassing phone calls from this company. They call my cellular phone [redacted] and ask to speak to [redacted] I do not know this person. I have had my phone number for at least 3 months now. I have politely asked them to stop calling me and they refuse. They also say it is their policy not to remove my number from the account. They have called from various numbers. I have listed the dates and numbers from which they have called below:[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want my phone number removed from the account on which they are attempting to collect that belongs someone named [redacted] b/c that is who they ask for each time they call me. I also want a letter in writing stating that they have removed my phone number from said account and they will no longer call harassing me trying to find this person, [redacted] that I have repeatedly told them I don't know.

Review: I am on the account with [redacted] pride I filed bankruptcy chapter 7 in nov 2014. [redacted] wants to pay off the account but the company told her they can't tell her pay off amount have [redacted] lawyer call which he did call and they refused him any information as well all we want to do is pay the loan off and the rep on the phone has no knowledge about the business and keeps referring us to different numbers and stated to us she don't know any answers and can't tell us any information on the account so why did she tell me to have the lawyer call he is the only one that can get the information?Desired Settlement: train their staff correctly and tell us the payoff amount so we can be done with this bad company

First off I would like to apologize about your experience. When bankruptcy is declared laws prohibit us from discussing the account any further without speaking through legal council. That is why the employee could not discuss the account. Once again I am very sorry about the confusion that this has caused.

I was very pleased with the professional manner which I was treated when I came in to the Kirkwood Highway office for a loan, [redacted] handled my loan and although I didn't have an appointment, she squeezed me in before her next appointment. They also worked with me to lower my payments to fit my budget. I would highly recommend anyone needing a hardship loan to FIRST call Auto Equity Loans for help.

I visited the Kirklwood Highway location for my loan.

I was totally impressed with the efficiency of the loan process. Everything was explained to me in detail and Jessica was very professional. I really appreciate how fast the entire process was conducted.

Will definitely recommend to my friends!

I've been dealing with Auto Equity Loans on Churchman's Road in Newark, DE for almost a year now. I have had nothing but great dealings with them and making payments on my loan is super easy and the representatives are a pleasure to talk to. Other businesses representatives should take some tips from them on how to treat and deal with customers - they are just great.

Review: I have a auto title loan with Auto Equity of DE.My first payment to them was late because Iwas moving cross country from Severn, Md. to Las Vegas, Nv. The rest of my payments were notlate. But every month since then I received calls claiming my payments were past due. My pay-ments were not late some were 2 or 3 weeks ahead of scheduled 17th due date. But they claim I waspast due regardless. Now they are charging me $120 for late fees when my payments were not late. If they have an accounting dept. they are in error. But I'm still being charged latefees. I'm positive my last payments were way in advance of the due date. I will pay this offin the coming months but not happy my car title is in their hands and if I pay it off and theyact like they didn't get it. Also, if they keep listing me as late all the time it's negativefor my credit rating. I'm retired and pay my bills 1st of each month but they claim by the17th they haven't gotten it till I call with money order receipts.Desired Settlement: Can my loan to be transferred to another auto title loan place in las vegas.I would prefer to deal with another company closer to home. I'm halfway thruthis loan but not satisfied with this company. I shouldn't get harassing callswhen I've paid. The company needs to check their accounts receivable dept. because unless the post office is holding my payments for 2 weeks they are in error. My othermail gets back east in 3 days. I believe something on their end is the real problem.

The reason the charges are happening is because in these loans you are charged per diem (per day) for interest, and if it arrives even a day from after your due date it would be a different amount. My suggestion would to send an over payment if possible or call in and make a payment using a debt or credit card. I am very sorry that this has been a trouble for you. I hope we can get this resolved for you as quick as possible. Thank you for choosing Auto Equity Loans.

I have used this business for several years now specifically the

Kirkwood Hwy location and find the employees to be very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The interest is considerably lower than

the other title loan companies

Prompt and courteous service. Pleasant and professional staff. Highly recommended!

The safe is really helpful and understanding. They don't make you feel you are being judged. The staff is willing to work with you. Auto equity is the only title loan company I will ever deal with and I've highly recommended them to everyone.
