Review: They have a published Refund Policy which states, "Our number one goal is customer satisfaction. If you are ever not satisfied with our services, feel free to contact us here, and we will work to resolve your issue. Refunds are handled on a case by case basis with the ultimate goal of complete customer satisfaction."
I ran one report, on myself, and there was no data on any topics they advertised and even my birthdate was wrong. I called customer service within minutes and at first the lady said they had a no refund policy. I told her there was no value and I wanted a full refund. Then she told me she could refund me 25%.
This company did not provide a single thing of value and their site is misleading.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund. If their number one goal is customer satisfaction, that will satisfy me.

Hi [redacted],I am sorry you are unhappy with our service. Backgroundalert.com takes pride in being one of the leaders of the public records search industry. Our sites gives users access to over 37 billion public records instantly online. I know how frustrating it is when you are looking for some sort of information and you can not find it. Please understand that our service allows you to search and pull reports from public records that consists of thousands of government and private databases. We do not maintain these databases, we simply are a tool that allows you to access these databases. Some people have tons of information in these databases and some do not , this is not a flaw in our service. We are commit to customer satisfaction, and given you have not used our service other than pulling one report, I have refunded you monthly fee of $22.95 in full.
Review: I signed up for a $1.00 trial of this background service on January 18,2016 at about 4:00 pm my time. I cancelled the service o January 20, 2016 at 1:30 pm.,my time. I did pay the dollar plus an extra 50 cent international fee. I have conformation of this cancellation. Now, they have charged my checking account (credit card)$29.99 plus an additional 90 cents. I called and talked to their customer service today, January 28 at 2:00 to have this amount taken off of my account. They claim I called them on January 15, 2016 and I have five days to cancel. So, why am I still being charged? They said they would have to look into it. Please have this amount erased from my checking account. Also, this business is not really legitimate in what they tell us customers.
[redacted]Desired Settlement: All I want is my $29.99 plus the 90 cent charges taken off of my checking account (credit card).

Hey [redacted]
This firm advertises on Yahoo. At the end of April, I clicked on their site. I was interested in checking my personal information to see if it was correct. When I proceeded, the site advised there would be a charge for $29.99. I wasn't willing to spend this amount and proceeded to leave the site. In doing so, a "pop up" message indicated on a trial basis I could do the search for $1.00. I proceeded and provided my credit card information. My account was charged a $1.00 and then a few days later $29.99. I only did the one search and had no intentions on signing up for their monthly service. When I contacted the Company I was advised I was automatically enrolled for the monthly program for $29.99 and did not "opt out" when I did the one search. Lesson learned --- "Buyer Beware".
I spent money this morning for background checks and all the phony crap they claim and everyone I checked on had the same information about them outside of name , age and addresses.. What a joke
Do not do business with this company. They do not honor what they say. I call and their response is corporate. The customer service rep said he is contracted by "Corporate" and will not give me any more information nor credit an account not in use after cancelling. They just continue to bill.
