Since Balboa's Revdex.com record has for some reason had nearly all of its complaints removed (?!?!), I will give you the short story about what happened when I tried to get a small business loan from them: In January 2013, Balboa didn't show up with the funds for a loan on CLOSING DAY without notifying us that they decided not to fund (which is another sketchy story in itself)They tried very hard to keep our deposit of over four thousand dollarsAfter getting the run around and having our phone calls ignored, we got the bright idea of using a different phone to call and they miraculously answered THAT call (while our other phone was still ringing through unanswered)They still tried to give us the run around so we filed a Revdex.com reportThat got Balboa's attention and they finally refunded the depositBottom line....This company will try their hardest to scam you out of your hard earned money!

Balboa Capital attempted to withdraw funds from our account through an unauthorized ACH request. We are not a customer of Balboa and never have been. Fortunately our bank flagged the transaction as potentially fraudulent and we were able to stop it before losing the money.

Balboa Capital has refunded the full deposit to the customer per the terms of the proposal

Applied for a equipment lease/loan Provided all paperwork, [redacted] was POC He never e-mailed or called back after several attempts by me to contact him/ Once I provided my ssn# never heard back until after contacting some-one else in the company to find out its a no My business and I have good credit and makes more than enough to pay back on this loan My concern is after providing my personal information and ssn# I never got called back, my concern is how my personal information is be handledIt seems this company could be a scam I want some-one held accountable for this guy actions Is this company actually who they say they are, not sure if they even offer what they say

Since we already purchased fixtures and not equipment as they state, we would like them to honor the month term payment as they agreedThis agreement included $ 13,in financing charges and built for $ 36,This is how it was presented by the salesman [redacted] to our company and the buy out was a dollar onlyThey were paid in full and the financing agreement was months ending March This agreement was satisfied according to the [redacted] terms and conditionsNow they want additional money for fixtures that they knew were not equipmentJust honor the original agreement that was presented, as this was a month term payment and after the last payment, we own the fixtures for a dollarStop the harassment and the threats and don't misrepresent the original agreement as it constitutes fraudThey were paid in fullAccept what was agreed upon

Re: Complaint Number: [redacted] I would like to supplement my complaint.This morning at approximately 9:15 am, Balboa Capital contacted me directly in a retaliatory effort to intimidate me and circumvent the BBB complaint process. Balboa Capital clearly has not demonstrated good faith in attempting to resolve this issue.The details of our exchange are as follows:Around 9:15 am I received a call from a woman purporting to be the director of the legal department at Balboa Capital. I did not get her name but she called from this number: [redacted] .She demanded that I produce the documents stating my agreement to a $1 buyout lease.I replied that I need to look into it.Without further inquiry, the woman immediately accused me of filing a fraudulent BBB claim and alleged that I was a liar. At this point the conversation escalated.Midway through the conversation she declared that the conversation was being recorded (which I believe is illegal) and that she was going to direct her counsel to file a fraud claim against me.She said she would use the recording against me in court and also share the recording with the BBB.After several minutes of repeated threats of legal action, I politely said I had to leave and hung up.It is my sincere I hope that she did record the conversation because it would be definitive proof of how unethical Balboa Capital is toward its customers.Further, based on the content and manner of our exchange, I suspect the caller was not a lawyer, but rather that she was posing as one for intimidation purposes. And, even if she was a lawyer, she may be violating several ethical rules.I would like to settle this dispute amicably and I anticipate we will need intervention by the BBB to do so. Balboa Capital has threatened litigation without making any genuine attempts at settlement. I purchased equipment for my business and paid a month contract with auto payment coming out of my business checking which started on 10/29/and ended on 11/28/ We have tried to contact this company for a payoff many times and each time getting different answers The variants of what the value on this equipment is a joke and is not worth what they are sayingAs they are & Ditch Witch Trenchers I was told to send a certified letter to end our involvement at end of terms of agreement with this company I sent a certified letter on 03/09/and they continued to invoice us for without permission from me after our end of contract on 11/28/ On 01/20/after no response from the 1st certified letter I was emailed that said they gave us the wrong address and to resend to End of Terms Department where we have sent more certified letters without any response 02/29/& a final one requesting to get this finalized on 05/06/ Now Balboa is

The representative I was working with never disclosed they were a brokerage, not a lenderI only granted permission for one inquiryI never would have agreed to have my loan request be "shopped" by multiple lenders I requested multiple times for a phone call with status updates on my loan approvalI was told I would have an approval in a couple of hours, and six days later was asked for a co-signerI've requested a copy of my credit reportI don't know how many times my credit was pulled and "shopped" with multiple lendersIf there have been multiple pulls on my credit, this will lower my credit score, thus preventing me from obtaining the financing with another lenderNot only was this not disclosed to me, but my ability to obtain financing may have been severely compromised for opening my business on June 1stThis is completely unacceptable as a practice for a lender who advertises they have an A+ Rating with the Revdex.comIf this is true, the standards have been lowered for thi
