Best Interstate Moving and Storage Reviews (%countItem)

Contracted move out to a disreputable company that damaged my furniture with no insurance. Not able to get in touch to rectify situation.
I booked Best Interstate for my move from NJ to WA. Contract ID #XXXXX. Items were picked up in Montclair, NJ on August 30, 2019 and delivered to Ellensburg, WA on September 25, 2019.

Ii booked the move with Jason Schroeder. At first they were very responsive and friendly, but once the deposit was paid it was incredibly difficult to get information from them. I came home to a nasty message left for me by Jasmine Sairras about going through my final inventory, threatening that if I didn't get back to her right away it would delay my move. It would have been nice if an appointment was set up with information letting me know what I needed to do to be prepared in advance rather than having to speak to a representative with an attitude during an already stressful time. All of the details I discussed with Best Interstate never made it to the actual movers which led to several misunderstandings during the move - including not paying for materials to pack furniture, number of steps allowed with no extra charge and most importantly the fact that my belongings would need to be stored briefly before being delivered in Washington. Because of this, the movers had to adjust their schedule and my delivery date was delayed, leaving me with Washington without my stuff for a week and a half. After the movers picked up my stuff, Best Interstate tried to tell me that the weigh in came in higher than the estimate and I was going to owe more money in my balance. I requested my belongings get re-weighed because I didn't believe there was 900 pounds more than anticipated. During this communication I spoke with both *** and *** The movers they booked were not responsive to that and eventually when I spoke to them they said there was no weigh in and I only owed what was in the estimate. Seemed to me that something very shady went on there.

Upon delivery, I noticed the following items that were damaged/missing. I informed the movers of these issues while they were still on site and indicated them on the inventory list.
Bed Frame - significant water damage
Server - 3 broken legs
Coffee Table - broken corner
Side Table - top loosened from bottom
Bookcase - significant water damage and cracked
3 Tread Step ladder - missing
The movers were not responsive to supplying insurance information. *** from Best Interstate did try to track down some information, but it wasn't correct. I eventually got info from the movers but turned out they didn't have an insurance policy with the company they gave me. I cannot get in touch with them as their phone is not in service and they don't respond to email. I am now trying to get back in touch with Best Interstate. No one answers the phone and every person who's email address I have says they are out of the office on an extended absence. I trusted Best Interstate to book my move with a reputable company and since that obviously did not happen, I feel they are responsible for the damage to my belongings. Total cost of move was $4,612.73 - $500 deposit to Best Interstate and the rest given to the movers in 2 bank checks (1 upon pick up and 1 upon delivery).

Desired Outcome

I would like a full refund of $4,612.73.

There were three parts to this move: 1) Estimate 2) Pickup 3) Delivery. Part 1 = 2 stars, Part 2 = 3 stars, Part 3 = 4 stars. Overall rating is 3 stars.
Reason Description -
Part 1 The estimate is incorrect and the cost is based on truck weight and additional fees that are determined at execution. My cost was 50% more than the original estimate. Grateful that I took a video inventory of my belongings that was useful for Part 3 sign off. Customer service did not call me for follow-ups and I had to call them.
Part 2 The extra fees were not itemized in detail and I was not given information on truck weight.
Part 3 Overall very good. Thankful that I had a video of my belongings to verify when they had unloaded all of my belongings from the truck before I signed off. There were was some damage to my belongings but nothing significant enough to warrant going through a claim process.

Best Interstate successfully moved me from the midwest to the west coast. After having previous moves go bad, I was relieved to experience such professional care. I would recommend Best Interstate Moving and Storage to anyone looking for professional service and care in their move.

The best moving experience from state to state! I moved my 3 bedroom home from North Carolina to Florida using Best Interstate Moving + Storage. Ken was my moving coordinator and he made everything easy and was extremely efficient! During such a stressful time, he was able to make everything move as smoothly as possible and was very professional. The movers who showed up were also very professional and handled all of my belongings with great care, as it all showed up in Florida without damages and right on time for only $4,500. I am so grateful for Best interstate and would recommend them to everyone looking for help moving from state to state. Thanks again Best Interstate!

Best Interstate had availability for my short term scheduling requirements. The gentlemen, truck driver, and helper were all on time. Packing and loading all the items, they were on task during the whole time and were courteous and considerate. For the items that needed moving blankets and final preparations before the move, the team quickly packaged all of the items securely. The customer service team did an excellent job monitoring the progress of the move on the day of the pack and load as well as drop off.

As far as areas of improvement, the damaged item claim paperwork was delayed by over a month. I still have not been able to complete and submit this form. Two of my wooden pieces of furniture sustained cosmetic scratching that will require repair. I did not anticipate for my items to be damaged based on the price point of this service relative to others.

Scheduling issues, inability to listen or help resolve issues, displaying a lack of empathy, laziness, and basic problem solving skills
My grandma was dying and I emergently drove home to see her Th night. Mover calls Friday morning saying he will be there the same or next day- he would let me know. Informed him I wouldn't be there but doesn't listen. I gave him the number of management to coordinate if he needed.

Asked my building manager to let them in Sat morning, she says she will be busy and would need a time. Mover doesn't call until 1913 Fr (after mgmt office is closed barring any communication with those who would have facilitated elevator reservation and answer any questions about the building), says he will be there Sat afternoon.

Sat, my grandma passes. I made funeral arrangements and attended it, as well as calling my mgmt office every 45 minutes. Unfortunately, was unable to get in touch with them (they did say they were busy and needed a time the day before - when the mover failed to call in a timely manner). I am harassed by the company. I field 6 calls from the mover, 1 from *** and 1 from dispatch between 1017 and 1537. Dispatch offers NO suggestions or help. I have been apologetic and explain the situation to everyone. They now say they will deliver Mon or Tue, but can't guarantee when. Dispatch tells me to give mover my availability.

Mon - text mover at 11AM that I am available all day, he says he cannot do anything and will be there Tue. Mon 1815 - mover asks to come now. Again, does he not know how business hours work? What kind of notice is this? How do I make elevator reservation or answer questions he has about parking etc when there is no loading dock? Dispatch gets involved. Again, 6+ calls later. Mover refuses to wait until mgmt office is open to facilitate the move or answer any questions he is constantly asking me. Somehow, I am supposed to do all the work and know the answer to all of his questions re: building, parking, elevator, even though I have even given him the contact info of the office. After 1h of argument, mover isn't even available to bring my things. Now he demands to come between 7-9AM Tue AM (again, cannot make elevator res, etc). Also, I'm supposed to skip work (I am a doctor) so I can be there to help them. I'm told multiple times this is my fault (yes, it was very inconvenient my grandma died on Sat and I had to drive 6h there and back to see her and be there for my parents). Dispatch convinces mover to come at 9AM.

Mover arrives Tue morning and calls me to get in touch with management instead of calling himself or walking into the office himself. Mover is surprised the elevator (in front of my apartment) is reserved. Now I get charged $250 for a long carry because the other elevator is farther away and they couldn't park closer. BOTH problems created by him being unwilling to wait or communicate with building mgmt. States I have to pay extra charges before they will unload anything, BUT I have to tip at the same time. This man deserves no money for the job he does, but my stuff is not in his mercy, so I tip $150 and have to Zelle him the total of $400.

At work I receive multiple texts that my bed won't assemble, he sends me pictures, calls me. THIS IS YOUR JOB, WHAT AM I GOING TO DO FROM WORK TO HELP YOU? He calls later to tell me the bed has been assembled, but he doesn't have a tool box so he hand tightened the screws and I will have to tighten them when I come home. He also tells me to call mgmt to tell them he's done rather than go and tell them himself -6 floors in this complex.

I get home at 8PM after a long day of work. The only thing they assembled was the bed (even that was INCOMPLETELY assembled), probably because MOVERS SOMEHOW DIDN'T HAVE A TOOLBOX. They didn't know where to find the trash (in front of the elevator they had been using) so left it littered in my apartment and in a huge TV box. They drank water bottles in my fridge without the decency to throw them away. Boxes are stacked in a pile taller than me. I didn't pay 1528 for an unprofessional and incomplete job.

Desired Outcome

I want to be compensated for the long carry fee (250$) and the tip that he asked while holding my things ransom (150$) - problems created by the mover himself, as well as at LEAST half of the moving fee - considering the unprofessional behavior, the time wasted on the phone arguing with these people, the harassment from dispatch and the mover. On top of the fact that the boxes which were LABELED with their appropriate locations were left in a stack that was taller than me (I'm 5'3!). They left all the plastic and box garbage in my apartment because they were too lazy to find the garbage/ recycling room which was right in front of the elevator they probably used 10 times. They made a mess on the floor, they took water bottles out of my fridge and drank them, and they didn't even bring a toolbox, so NOTHING has been assembled apart from the bed which had screws that were 'hand tightened' so I had to go and buy a toolbox to tighten them after I got home so I could sleep on it. All the hardware from my TV stand etc was thrown together and mixed in a box so it's going to take a while to figure out what goes where and put it together myself, or find other people to help me. These guys didn't even do their job, and they got paid in full? With what *** they did, I'm surprised they were thirsty enough to open up my fridge and drink my water bottles. You would think they would have at least had the decency, if not common courtesy to have thrown this away themselves.

While Best Interstate Moving + Storage is not directly responsible for the increase incurred by the customer, as her hired moving broker were compelled enough to speak with the customer and agree on an amicable resolution which the customer accepted.

Customer Response • Aug 27, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I appreciate Best Interstate's attempt to compensate me $300 for my trouble, however, I would have had to remove my reviews of my experience as well. They said the company they had contracted with was looking into refunding the long carry fee, however, they haven't taken the extra steps to help make this right. Taking a few extra steps to contact the company and get my money back for a job they hardly did would show they care about their customers. I don't think my time and the *** this company put me through was worth $300. If even one person reads my review and decides not to use them, it would be worth that much to me.

Best Interstate Moving and Storage Response • Aug 29, 2019

We are regretful the customer had a less than favorable experience during her relocation. The funds that were extended to Ms. was extended as a courtesy as it did not warrant a refund from Best Interstate Moving + Storage.

While in the booking process, our moving coordinators ask a series of questions pertaining to the logistics of the move, such as the need for an elevator reservation, is a Certificate of Insurance required, are there loading docks, etc. to ensure there are no delays in servicing the move. Ms. notified our office that she only required a reservation for the elevator at pickup and both locations required the movers to have a Certificate of Insurance prior to entering the buildings.

Unfortunately, we were not properly informed of the reservation needed at delivery, as a result of, the movers were not able to schedule delivery appropriately. It is the customer's responsibility to schedule any required reservations. This was not done, thus resulted in the movers imposing a "long carry" service as the distance from the back of the truck to the front entrance of the apartment exceeded the 75 feet that was inclusive with the move.

As previously cited, the funds that were extended on the behalf of Best Interstate Moving + Storage served as a good faith gesture as the fees were warranted. Our office will reach out to Best Price Moving and Storage to verify if they're willing to provide any provisions towards the balance.

Customer Response • Sep 01, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
All questions regarding the move were answered. Not only were they answered, but I was the one to initiate the calls in order to make sure they got the required information. Multiple times I spoke to someone different and had to repeat information. It became clear that information was not appropriately being communicated. Even to schedule the packing of items, I called *** multiple times to give her elevator reservation times after the one time that was offered was unavailable.

Let it also be abundantly clear that the movers gave me a 12h notice prior to showing up. How am I supposed to make an elevator reservation when the leasing office is closed? How is this an expectation that fell on me when I wasn't even given close to enough notice to make the "appropriate reservations." The mover REFUSED to wait for me to do this. He created this problem and then I got hit with this asinine extra fee that was a result of his total incompetence (this is the same guy that showed up with 0 tools and put nothing together). I was called at 8PM finalizing a delivery for 9AM the following morning. This is a laughable scam. I don't even want my money back, I just want to expose this awful company for the garbage service they offer.

The time, hassle, and mess they left me with really isn't worth the petty compensation. I'm still living with unassembled shelves and furniture because I started a fellowship and haven't had have the time to deal with it figuring out all the parts they mixed together. I don't need the money. At this point, I just want to make sure nobody uses this pathetic excuse of a company.

Professional and efficient. Coordinated moving and storage of household goods and a car. Found specialty services to deal with the pool table and grandfather clock. Online inventory tool easy to use.

Quote price increased by 50% due to bad inventory quote, did not move all items, left 2000.00 of items behind. Strapped mattresses to back of truck.
This moving experience has been a complete nightmare. It started off with a great quote of a flat 10,000 for the exclusive use of a 12,500 pound truck that "Has nonstops because you have exclusive usage and it will be there in 72 hours from the time the movers leave since they can drive 500 miles a day. When the movers showed up, they advised us that the estimate for the 12,500 truck only included 6,000 pounds of packing and that we had to pay an additional 5,000. They wanted to use over 65 dish packs for a 3 bedroom home, which were the most expensive boxes with the highest labor attached. They took 2 full days to pack the house, and due to a poor job, they ran out of room and strapped 2 king size mattresses to the back of the truck to go to their warehouse in Maryland, from a Rhode Island. They also left a grill and industrial dog crate behind that they shrugged their shoulders about when I asked how this was going to get to Florida, and it was on the inventory list.

I called best relo and spoke to 3 people, including the original sales rep who now stated that yes it should taken three days but they have 16 days. I spoke to the director about the 50% up charge who kept putting the phone on mute and basically said, sorry about it, there is no one else you can talk to and and it's too bad. She was also not concerned about the items left behind or the mattresses.

They stated that they would try to work on a credit and delivery date but it doesn't look good and they'll be in touch on monday, 6 days after the truck left my house. To date, I have no update on any of information, there hasn't been credit, there is no plan to get my other items here and this sale was grossly misrepresented.

The customer service is horrific, they offer no solutions, they do not mitigate risks and do not provide any support or service for anything that has gone wrong.

I am looking to be compensated for the dishonest behavior, the misjudgement of the packing by their state of the art computer estimating software and for the items left behind that I have no resolution on.

Beware of the deceit and the poor management of this relocation company. Steer clear.

Desired Outcome

I want to be refunded the overage amount and want my items to be delivered in good order. If the mattresses are destroyed after the move, I am looking to have them replaced or to be compensated for the damages. Someone needs to take accountability for their actions.

Best Interstate Moving and Storage Response • Aug 06, 2019

came into an agreement with Best Interstate Moving and Storage to facilitate his relocation from Rhode Island to Florida. Based on the contract, *** agreed to transport an estimated weight of 12,500 pounds, packing services for $2,098.50 and other miscellaneous services for an estimated total of $10,000.00. Our office collected $2,500.00 for our services. Barring any additional weight or required services, the balance that would be due at delivery would be $7,500.00. To provide the most accurate estimate, we recommended *** to use our artificial intelligence videoing service to capture those items that would be transported. Based on the video submitted, the system calculated the estimated weight at 11,738 total pounds on May 1,2019.

Please note, the moving coordinator followed up with *** to review the video to verify if anything was omitted or if any changes were to be made, the customer advised no. The video was accepted by the customer on May 1,2019 at 2:07 pm est as being accurate and the most current. The agreement and contract for service was composed and email to the customer for review. The customer signed the agreement on May 1,2019; confirming and acknowledging the terms and conditions for the order of service.

Included in the signed paperwork was the terms and conditions relating to move. Please note, the clause which reads, "Best Interstate Moving and Storage Guarantees our price NOT to exceed based on your item list below and the additional services elected". Should your inventory's estimated weight/volume increase at the time of pick up or should you require additional services, your price may change based on the agreed upon rate per pound and/or cubic feet. Simply stated, if the logistics of the move remain the same as originally booked with the customer is held to the estimate, however the moment there is a change, regardless of how minute it may be, the estimate is voided. (see attachment).

Best Interstate Moving and Storage LLC a licensed interstate broker, is not a motor carrier authorized by the Federal Government to transport household goods, instead we coordinate and arrange for an authorized motor carrier to perform the transportation service. The carrier used to transport the household goods was Helix Transfer and Storage.

*** requested for her goods to be loaded between July 29, 2019-July 30,2019. Please note, the dates are merely estimating as we cannot guarantee dates due to unforeseen circumstances that may transpire while the driver is on the road. Our records reflect Helix Transfer and Storage began loading the customer's household goods on July 29, 2019. The customer also booked with "exclusive use of the truck". Meaning only the customer's household goods would be loaded onto the truck and no one else. Please note, the truck that was dispatched to haul *** was a 26-foot truck. This size truck can transport a total of 12,500 pounds when filled to capacity.

On the day of pick up, the movers presented the customer with several documents that were required to be signed prior to any items being packed/loaded onto the truck. One document is the Interstate Revised Written Estimate. The signing of this document rescinds any/all other estimates and controls as the current estimate. The customer was to be charged the flat rate for the 12,500 pounds, however due to their being additional packing services required to fulfill the completion of the pickup, the movers revised the order to include $4,500.00.

There are several disclaimers throughout this document that informs the customer to "Sign this document only if you agree to the new total estimated price. DO NOT sign this document if blank". In addition, "revised total estimated charges were approved in totality in person/prior to loading". *** signed this document, acknowledging and agreeing to pay the provided cost at the time of delivery for the associated weight and packing (see attachment).

*** with management prior to signing the document on the day of pickup. It was advised to the customer there were more items than what was initially disclosed during the booking phase with our office, therefore the movers were revising the order to include the additional items and additional services that were required to complete the pickup of the household goods. It was further explained to the customer the rates and tariffs that she would be subjected to due to the increase in weight/item count. Lastly, management informed the customer if he refused to sign the document, the movers would could legally only transport and pack the items that he originally booked to be transported and nothing more per federal regulations imposed by the Department of Transportation. Again, the customer signed the documents acknowledging complete acceptance of the revised balance.

We are regretful *** had a less than favorable experience with our company, however our office did our due diligence in ensuring the customer had received the most accurate quote possible via our artificial intelligence software. While we are not directly responsible for the increase in the balance, as his hired moving broker, we are advocating on his behalf in negotiating with the movers to receive a deduction in the balance. In the event there are damages sustained to the household goods that were transported by the movers, the customer will be required to file a claim with the claims office based on the option that was signed at the origin location.

Customer Response • Aug 07, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
*** I can certainly understand that the AI program is not perfect, I was told by Helix that the packing charge of 2098.50 was for 6,000 of goods and in the response by Best Interstate Moving and Storage the AI estimated "Based on the video submitted, the system calculated the estimated weight at 11,738 total pounds on May 1,2019." How does one charge for 6,000 pounds and estimate for 6,000 of packing when we have a 12,500 truck and the AI estimated 11,738 pounds?

What the movers packed and shipped was representative to what was on the inventory list.

Furthermore, Best INterstate Moving and Storage advised that since we had full use of the truck, the truck would take 72 hours to come to Florida as there would be no additional stops. I call for BIMSO to pull the recorded phone calls with *** and *** and see what was promised. When I asked, they conveniently stated that no ALL calls are recorded, just random ones are and that they couldn't go back and look for them. This is appalling and it is not my burden to go fish for calls.

The day after the movers left, I called Best Interstate moving and storage and they told me that they they never said that I had exclusive use of the truck and that they never said that the truck would be there in 72 hours.

When you sell exclusive use of a truck and a full service pack based on what is on an agreed list, and advise that when you have exclusive use of the truck the truck leaves your house it will be there in 73 hours because the truck drivers can only drive 500 miles a day (where else would I get this information from) you should perform the services.

There is nothing on the estimate or on any of the disclosures from Best Interstate that state that it will take up to 30 business days to deliver goods and services. Nor do I have an exclusive use of a truck.

When I called *** they advised me that the smaller truck goes back to a warehouse in MD, where they hold the stuff and then load it with other things going to Florida when they have a truck going to Florida and that they are short staffed and dont have enough trucks, so I won't see my furniture until at least next Friday, August 16th. This is 18 full days after the truck left and my furniture is sitting in a warehouse somewhere waiting for a truck and drivers that are available.

You should be responsible for the misrepresentation of the packing charges and the fact that you lied and misrepresented the move delivery.

Your estimates should include more realistic data, with realistic and accurate dates and representations. Your contract states that if the customer misrepresents what is being packed, that they should be liable. There is nothing on that truck that was not on the video or on the list. You misjudged the articles in the cupboards after I specifically mentioned the volume on all my phone calls. I will file a complaint with the State attorney General and with the FMCSA.

Best Interstate Moving and Storage Response • Aug 15, 2019

Mr. Palazoo indeed booked with the exclusive use of the truck. This service provides the customer sole possession of the truck in which only his household goods will be placed on the truck and no one else. We have confirmed only the customer's household goods will be on the truck as his household goods have filled the truck to capacity and does not allow another shipment to be consolidated with his. The exclusive use of the truck service does not mean he has a guaranteed or an expedited delivery date.

Based on the distance of the move, the first legally available date for delivery would have been August 1st. This is derived from regulations mandated by the Department of Transportation. Please not, this is not the guaranteed date for delivery, instead it is from this date the movers have up to 21 business days to deliver the household goods, excluding weekend/holidays. In addition, while the agreement does not include the delivery window, while in the booking process, prior to any funds being collected the customer is notified of the delivery spread. This is done through the "recap" summary of the move. (please attachment).

Management has reached out to the customer to discuss an amicable resolution which would be finalized on August 15th.

Best interstate is the best! My sales agent was Zack who was extremely helpful and patient. The customer service manager Jasmine was also extremely helpful and patient. This company's follow through is exceptional and makes the moving cross country experience less stressful. I recommend them to anyone who needs to move.

Very nice job indeed. Stephanie, Jasmine and Helix Transfer and Storage were efficient, responsive and always very helpful.

It was difficult to book an elevator for moving out of my high-rise apartment, but the team at BIMS and Helix were responsive and made a big effort to get the job done on-time!

I called in 6 months in advance for a move from coast to coast. Got a quote, customer service was awesome and answered all my questions. I didn't schedule at that time. Fast forward 5 months and we are moving in 4 weeks. The alternative plans we had made fell thru and we were stuck. I called Customer service back and they did everything to get it scheduled and loaded and help me stay calm. They booked a truck, scheduled a crew to pack and load from 2 different house locations and got everything across the country 3 days quicker than I expected. Their packing and loading crew on both sides of the country were professional and polite while getting the job done fast. Thankfully they all had a sense of humor as my house was a mess. I definitely recommend them for a major move and while I plan to NEVER move again, if I had to, they would be my first call.

The gentlemen, truck driver and helper, were on time. Packing and loading all the items, they were on task during the whole time and were courteous and considerate during their. They anticipated how pack the furniture since everything was going into storage, like wrapping the furniture in plastic wrap to protect everything from dust and dirt while in storage. Big thanks for a job well done.

Mike was super helpful with setting up our move across the country and he was quick to answer and questions we had and fixed any snags that occurred prior to the move. CAprelo was timely and even though there was a minor delay they were quick in informing me and staying within the delivery window.

I was moving across the state after being in the same state for 30 years and a very stressful situation was made much more bearable by the wonderful customer service I received from Tequela. I cannot say enough good things about Tequela! She was totally amazing from start to finish, was there with me at every step of the way and I could reach her at any time and her response time was exceptional. This company gave me the best quote and stayed pretty much true to it. There were a couple of snags, I had to pay *** extra because they could not bring a semi into my apartment complex but that was a small price to pay for the excellent packing and delivering. Nothing was broken everything was done very fast and the guys were all very professional.
I highly highly recommend this company !!

Everything arrived safe and sound, and this was the most painless move I've ever had! Thanks so much to Jasmine and Helix Transfer for getting my furniture to my new home safely!

Professional, friendly and great to work with. Showed great concern for out belongings and for making sure no damage was done to driveway or grass. Best Interstate and Rayan kept good contact and walked with us through the whole move.

Company did NOTHING and still kept my deposit. They were not able to pick up my move. They are saying that they came to my home, they did not.
Best took my deposit, did not pick me up, and will not refund.

Desired Outcome

I am not asking for the expense I had to incur, I am only asking for my deposit back.

came into an agreement with Best Interstate Moving + Storage to facilitate his relocation from Washington to California. Based on the contract, *** agreed to transport an estimated weight of 28,000 pounds. We received the signed contract via e-signature on March 9, 2018; confirming he acknowledge and agreed with the said contract for services.

Included in the signed paperwork was the terms and conditions relating to move. *** requested to be relocated between the dates of July 7-July 11, 2018. Please note, while we aim to honor the customer's requested dates, the dates are estimates as we cannot guarantee due to unforeseen circumstances that may transpire.

*** was notified by management at Best Interstate Moving + Storage on July 9th there was a minor change in scheduling and the dispatch manager was fully aware and actively working to resolve the matter to get his items transported. It was discussed that *** needed to vacate his home by July 15th. As we do not want to leave any family stranded or placed in an unsettling predicament, management offered to release the customer from the contract with a complete refund of the funds we collected for our services, however *** declined this option.

To ensure *** home was vacated by July 15th, Best Interstate Moving + Storage made significant provisions in our policy and standard operating procedures to appease the customer. This feat included hiring a moving management company to pack and load his belongings. They were dispatched to *** home, flying a certified driver and moving coordinator into Washington, providing lodging for the driver and moving coordinator, renting a pick-up truck for supplies, and securing laborers to assist with the loading of the truck. These expenses alone were $2,473.47.

Both *** and Best Interstate Moving + Storage agreed to have these provisions done to fulfill the commitment made by both parties. On the date the driver was scheduled to arrive to begin transporting the items to ***'s home in California, he became unresponsive. Calls, emails and text messages were repeatedly sent over the course of 12 hours that went unanswered.

Best Interstate Moving + Storage was made aware three days after the incident by *** that he had decided to relocate the household goods independently. He never cancelled his contract with Best Interstate Moving + Storage. We flew the moving coordinator and driver home along with cancelling labor.

In closing, per the contractual agreement, the customer must notify our office of the intent to cancel the move before 5 calendar days of the actual move date. *** failed to notify our office of his wishes to cancel in the allotted time frame. Furthermore, *** was extended the option to cancel on July 9th and receive a full refund by management, yet he declined this option.

We did not move to California, we moved to Arizona.
The date that was communicated to Best Interstate Moving and Storage was: The house was to be vacated on 7-13-18 (not X-XX-XX)at 9 PM located at XXXXX Xth *** XXXXX.

Wich in turn, for any moving company would know that the arrival time to conduct the move should have been far prior to the 13th.

As noted by Best Interstate Moving and Storage:
While we aim to honor the customers requested date, the dates are estimates as we can not guarantee due to unforeseen circumstances that may transpire:
This previously stated sentence, would be understood, had the communication transpired by Best Moving and Storage, but it was not.

We contracted with the Best Interstate Moving company in March like stated above. We made a deposit of $3718.03.
We updated the company on there web portal monthly as requested by them to inform them of our move date. The minimum requirement was a two week notice so they could coordinate our move.

As we sold our home we gave them 4 weeks notice and made them aware that the closing date of our home was X-XX-XX and that we needed to have the house vacated that day at 9 PM.
The company provided us a three day pack date.
It was to take place on 7-9, 7-10 and 7-11-18.

On 7-6-18 we contacted the company to try and establish an estimated arrival time for the moving personal for Monday the 9th of July.

We where told that there Dispatch was working on getting our move set up.

Myself and my husband were very nervous about that conversation as this was 3 days prior to the first pack day and they are just now putting a plan in place for our move, when they where made aware of our move 4 weeks prior.
We were assured that they had it handled and not to worry about it.
We contacted them several times during the weekend but only to be informed they are working the issue and not to worry.
Monday morning came and went with more calls to the Bast Interstate Moving Company. Calls got elevated to there top management personal
***, Skip, *** and ***.

We made several calls to them daily as the week went on with no luck of any new update for the company to move us.

On X-XX-XX we took manners into our hands and rented 2x50 foot trucks from Penske Truck Rentals in Tukwila Wash. We called on our friends and everyone we could hire on short notice to help us move out of the home by 9 PM on X-XX-XX as the new owner took possession at that time.

We occurred many expenses, very high stress levels to both, my husband and myself due to the negligence of the Best Interstate Moving Company.

The package we purchased was also to include a 30 Day Free storage till we were able to purchase a new home in Arizona and to move our belongings into our new home after purchase.

So in addition to renting our own trucks at last minute, doing our own move,we also had to hire drivers to drive the trucks to Arizona, located a storage unite in Arizona, hire movers to unload the trucks in Arizona at the storage unit and then later to complete the move into our new home.

In closing, we hired a moving company as we are both retired and felt that was best for our age/health.
As a result we occurred a much higher moving cost, high stress level and where at chance of loosing our belongings at time of closing if the move was not completed on X-XX-XX at 9 PM.

My intend was to hired a full service moving company and all our obligations to the contract where fulfilled by us to the Best Moving and Storage company.
The information that was provided by the Best Moving and Storage Company above, Labor, material Truck was not approved by us to provide service after July 13th as we had to be moved out by that date.
There was NO SERVICES rendered by Best Moving and Storage Company and a FULL REFUND of our Deposit needs to take place in the amount of $ 3718.03

Closing House Sale documents are available by request. The document is 114 pages long, but will
e mail if necessary.

Thank you for your time

Best Interstate Moving and Storage Response • Aug 01, 2019

While Best Interstate Moving + Storage stand firm behind our terms and conditions, our mission is to provide a great customer experience. As such, management has decided to make provisions to our policy and extend a good faith gesture of returning half of the funds received for our services. Due to the funds being issued as a courtesy and not a warranted refund, *** will be required to sign a document that would allow us to release the funds. This will be a non- disclosure settlement agreement that once signed, that holds Best Interstate Moving + Storage legally responsible to return $1,859.02 back to the credit card we received as the reservation payment.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The offer is refused as the original agreement was not met. we are still moving forward with filing with their local judicial system. We would like to have a "copy of order for Service" sent to us to review the final contract terms. As Best Moving and Storage has removed the portal to allow access to any documents mid way through our issues with them. Upon further investigation we have found out that Best Moving and storage has never Paid any expenses as disclosed to any other company for servicing our contract like airline tickets, rental car expenses, hotel expenses, etc through them. Best also disclosed that they flew people to Seattle to move our items. this is also not true as the two people that were flown to Washington were not intended to provide service to our contract specifically but to someone else's contract and ours was added after the fact. You are correct in the fact we were non responsive to calls from Best Moving and Storage after the move date. That is because we were on the road for several days Driving Our Own Items to Arizona and had no Cell service to answer any phone calls at that time.
The fact of the matter is that we paid for a service to be performed. We Paid a large down payment to meet the contract obligation on our end. We communicated to Best Moving and Storage well within the contract requirements of any changes that were needed so they can support our move dates. Yes companies do occur expenses in doing business as a company performs its service but they have not paid for said service they have claimed to have performed. The bottom line is we would like our money back for services "NOT" performed per contract.

BEWARE!!! They promise you everything under the sun and then do not follow through! As brokers, they are now blaming the movers (*** Movers) and the movers are blaming the delays on Best. All I know, is I don't have any of my household goods and do not trust them at all! I would NEVER recommend Best or ***!

Best Interstate Moving and Storage was excellent as an Agent on my interest for dealing with all my moving interests, They managed everything from pick-up times and packing completely through to dates and time of the delivery of my household goods.I dealt with different Agents, however I remember Mae and Jasmine, I had one issue with the movers about the delivery. The scheduled delivery got confused. Best Interstate handled the communication and in the end managed to have my household goods delivered at an earlier and more convenient time for me.

Sheana was great to work with. Our move was pretty last minute and she was able to find us a mover for the exact date we wanted. Prices were reasonable compared to other companies we received quotes from.
