I would like to follow up on the
case *** *** I have been working with our Circleville General
Manager on this claimAt this
point most of the items have been
completed:
The roof was initially repaired
The reason that the roof was not replaced was due to the extreme weatherIn
order for roof shingles to seal and assure proper installation, the temperatures
must be approximately forty degreesSince the temperatures had been below that
mark for an extended period, we repaired the roof to prevent any further damage
We told the homeowner that the roof would be replaced weather permittingSince
then, the new roof has been started and should be completed todaySchumacher
Homes agreed to install upgraded shingles on this home at no additional cost to
the homeowner
Floors have been
cleaned
Electrician has completed his
work
Doors have been
adjusted
The remaining work is in process
and should be completed shortly
I am sorry for the delay in
completing this workUnfortunately our construction manager suffered an injury
and has been off work for sometimeOur General Manager and Production Manager
have been coordinating this work with the
homeowner

of Friday 11-27-all items have been completed with the exception of the
exterior painting which will be handled in the spring time*** *** has signed off on
the service order and the General Manager for the *** *** office has left a voicemail to confirm his satisfaction

Our staff have been to this home many times and completed all warranty service requestsIf there are additional items, please submit a list for our reviewThank you

As you may know, I have rejected the statement made by Schumaker Homes regarding my complaint against themMy sliding glass door is able to move an inch in the locked positionI will be sending the video attachmentThe drywaller came back on Tuesday and as you will be able to see from the pictures (previously sent), the painters have more than just touchups to completeI feel that the rooms that have extensive repairs need to be completely repaintedAlso, the paint they use will not even allow simple clean-upsI have requested semi-gloss so I could wipe off hand prints but the company said no I found out yesterday they are sending a rep to look at the door the same time the tub repair guy is coming todayI have to leave work to meet with themThank you! We have been in contact with the homeowner several times trying to schedule
repairsHe just told us this week that he has the first week of January off,

This “response” from Schumacher Homes is really not a response at allIt is just a regurgitation of their standard line, which I’m sure many of their customers have heard before, and goes something like this:1. What happened to your house is “normal”.2. We assume no responsibility for the shoddy workmanship of our subcontractors.3. You are no longer under warranty.4. You have a 10-year structural warranty and you should contact them about your issues(This warranty is worthless because it only pays for structural problems that render the house uninhabitable, which practically never happens.) Considering the way this company treats its customers, as evidenced by the many other complaints against Schumacher that people have registered on the Revdex.com website, it is amazing to me that it has not failed before nowIf even one potential Schumacher customer reads my complaint and decides to contract with another builder as a result, it will have cost Schumacher much more than what it would cost them to reimburse me for my repair costsAnd that is what it will take to resolve my complaintUntil I am reimbursed, my complaint stands

I spoke with *** *** on Monday January 12th and he assured me I would hear back about the rest of the listed items either later that day or the next by him or ***Neither has responded, after multiple attempts and multiple different ways trying to contact themIt is now days later and I have no way of knowing what is going onI have not heard back about the $1325.00, if it was sent or when it might beI have heard nothing about the backsplash that we continually asked about and was deleted by the Schumacher companyI have not heard from the fireplace vendor about possible seitherI fear it may be summer before this happens and then the fireplace is no damn goodNo attic steps or window replacements have been installed or communicated to meThere is still work to be done and we closed almost a month agoThis is getting absurd and we are continually using our own finances and times to pick up the slack of this, so-called, professional company

Mrs*** has been in contact with
the Schumacher Homes *** office about this concern. It was addressed by
the VP of Construction, and options for resolution were presented. Mrs***
chose not go with any of those optionsCabinets are offered at several
different
levels and choices. They are displayed both in our model home and
design centerSchumacher Homes in not trying to hide anything with the make or
quality of any of our selections, including cabinets The description in the
contract states the cabinets Mrs*** selected are our maple door selection.
The standard size of the cabinets is 30” high, and is described on the plans on the cabinet pageThe plans are reviewed at design meetings and our pre-construction meeting.
There are opportunities from the point of sale through color selections meetings
and pre-construction meetings to select something other than standard options.
As much as we would like to be able to foresee what our customers may want, we
can only go by what they decide and include in their contract. At this time the cabinets are not
installed, but will be soon, so our hope is that once they are installed Mrs*** will like
what she sees. If not, we can re-visit the option of building a wood soffit as already presented As for Mrs***'s desired settlement we can only provide what both the ***'s and Schumacher Homes of Louisiana have agreed to in the contractThis includes the 30" wall cabinets and the pedestal sink that is an included feature in our homesAttached is a copy of the included features page signed by the ***'s, which shows the pedestal sink.We would like to continue to work directly with Mrs*** to work though any issues or concerns

Nevertheless, I had the regional supervisor visit with me to we walk through the property. He took notes of the items needing repair or replacement and I'm assuming he sent those notes to the *** *** office From what I was told, the *** *** office manager is en route to the construction site this morning. Hopefully, I will hear from him today as I've heard nothing from the *** *** office besides the customer coordinator calling requesting the last payment installation for closing. I've explained that I will not submit the last payment authorization until all inside work has been completed. This way, neither my wife nor I will lose work days sitting at home waiting for work crews to show up once we move in. Moreover, disrupting our life and possibly damaging our personal property I'll accept the house under those conditions only, with the understanding that all outside work will be completed in a reasonable time. Especially those repair or adjustment items dealing movement of rain water away from the house such as the flashing above the garage door and the soil grading from the house, as Schumacher keeps stating their ten foot radius responsibility around the property In summary, some items have been repaired, however, some others are still pending and moving very slowly. I did communicate to the regional manager that I have until the end of the month to take possession of the house or my family and I become homeless based on our current lease expiration; just as a footnote Thanks again for reaching out to us for an updateRespectfully, *** *** *** *** *** *** ***

*** *** To date, the items are being slowly addressed I met regional representative at the construction site yesterday and he assured me that all listed items will be completed by the end of next week Portions sheetrock are being replaced and ceiling joists are being adjusted as they where not installed properly by the original framing crew A few additional repairs of the master bedroom tub have also been added to the list as the damage caused by the tile workers to the brand new tub where not repaired properly by the warranty company. The tub needs to be rebuffed/repolished back to its original new sheen as the material used left a very visible haze and discoloration. All else, except for the river sand delivered to fill the property surrounding the house has pretty much washed away and it will be up to me to spend additional funds to replace it because Schumacher is pretty much done with the exterior work Hopefully, as promised, the house will be completed by the end of next weekRegards, *** ***

You don't have a signed contract because your staff never called me backNor did your staff spend large amounts of time with me and I never seen the plans it took them a month to give me a quote onEven your call center was rude to me, did you miss that in the email? Obviously you feel like this behavior is acceptable and as I said in the email to your staff, "I am glad to see that you all stick together in your fraudulent practices and disrespectful treatment to clients." You have all the proof in front of you of my experience with your staff and you have failed to even apologize or connect to the human aspect of how I was treatedYour lies are insulting and your excuses are very poorRather then be a leader and take responsibility for your staffs behavior, you seem to be defensive and emotional with a situation you were not there to witness to, although my proof shows my experience to be correctIf this is what your leadership looks like it explains why your staff acts that wayI, unlike those other poor people who were grossly overcharged for their raised homes dogged a bulletI hope you will be contacting them to issue a refundThank you for showing me the culture of your organization and a I am pleased NOT to have worked with you.

The original dryer vent was installed per code and passed by the building inspectorAfter complaining to both us and the building department, the homeowner had the inspector question the codeThe inspector then made several recommendations to us regarding options to satisfy the homeownerSome were possible based on the design, some were notIn an effort to satisfy the homeowner, Schumacher Homes changed out the original and code accepted dryer vent and paid $to a vendor to meet the homeowner's perceived code regulationsThis work was completed as shown on email below.From: Mark *** [***] Sent: Wednesday, April 06, 8:AM To: Michael *** Subject: Re: *** *** *** *** ** ***Mike We finally were able to get this Mr *** resolved & completed .We ended up installing a Dryer Booster Fan with a Lint Scree for himI will need a VPO for $for the labor & materialThis is the one that passed inspection but Mr *** filed a complaint at the Revdex.com of *** Co If you want me to fill out a service request send it over & I will get it right back to you .
