BookAirFare Reviews (81)

Review: Bookairfare.com advertised a price on two one-way flights to Venice, Italy from BWI at a price of $1282. After submitting my credit card number and booking the flight, I was emailed the next day with a message that stated: "Dear Mr. [deleted], Thank you for choosing Bookairfare.com to make your travel arrangements. With reference to your reservation number [deleted], Please be advised that we are unable to confirm your reservation as some taxes has increased by the airline so please call us back on this number -1855-282-6507. Please consider this email as urgent as limited seats are available and fares are dynamic, it will not be available for longer span of time.

If there is anything you would like to ask, please feel free to contact us. Best Regards, Amy." After calling the number, the travel agency stated that I would be required to pay extra money in order to "confirm the reservation" which is bait and switch advertising. They refused to book the flight at the price originally offered, and the price I was quoted originally is still being advertised online. I refused to pay any extra cost since their business practices are unethical.Desired Settlement: I definitely do not want to be charged for the original booking and believe the company should stop using bait and switch advertising.

Review: I used the company website to purchase a ticket. I went through the process, filling out all applicable data and clicking purchase. Instead of sending me to a confirmation page the site sent me back to the search page with a red bar at the top informing me that I needed to add a flight to my search. I checked my bank statement to see if I had been charged and I had not been charged for the flight, only the travel insurance. I IMMEDIATELY emailed bookairfare.com to inform them of the problem and let them know that I wanted to be refunded my travel insurance for a flight that didn't exist. I was never contacted by their customer service even though their site boasts: "we monitor our emails 24 hours a day, 7 days a week." 11 hours later I was sent a confirmation of the flight purchase without even a word from customer service. A back and forth ensued when I wrote them again with them completely ignoring my story and telling me that "you were sent the tickets and the confirmation" I KNOW I was sent that, but they chose to ignore the entire content of my email to them opting to tell me I should have contacted them -- which I DID. The last email that I sent to them I reiterated that I had contacted them and they have not written me back since. This is the worst customer service that I have ever encountered. They did not fulfill their promise of: "bookairfare.com was founded on one fundamental principle - give customers access to the lowest fares without compromising great service" In fact the opposite is true of them, their short and rude emails ignored my concerns and did not even acknowledge that it was their website glitch and LACK of proper response to my concern that produced this scenario.Desired Settlement: I would like the purchase price of my ticket to be refunded along with the cost of the travel insurance.

Review: I have booked two tickets for a flight from phoenix to cochin (India) on 01/02/2014. I have received a phone call from them after 2 hours saying the booking is confirmed. When I woke up the next morning, I received an email from saying the reservation is pending. I rang the customer care like 10 times and all that I could hear was "nobody is available this time " I called them again later and this CSR straight away started bashing like your price has gone up in an attitude. I said there is no need to be rude about this and asked about the call I received yesterday. What he said was so disturbing, " I am not here to listen to your B[redacted]Sh**. I said I am no longer am interested in to be your customer and can cancel my reservation. When I looked up for other reservations, the price has gone up. Basically I lost like 200 USD for believing in a small and petty business like bookairfare. Its basically classical "Switch and bait". I asked if there is a supervisor available there, and he said " He is the supervisor " . What a joke. I would have paid the extra for the airfare, but to speak to a customer like that is simply unacceptable.Desired Settlement: Explanation for the behavior and an apology.

Worst travel agency ever on the world

When I try to purchased a ticket their website got an error but their charge me. I wrote a appeal letter. Please cancel it. But they reply me as a following email.

#######################################

Thank you for contacting Bookairfare.com

As per the airlines fare rules, your ticket is non-refundable and non-transferable. However, as a good will customer gesture, we can offer you a refund if you agree to pay the cancellation penalty of 25 USD (New charge per passenger) and you will get a refund mount of 140.35 USD in 2-3 billing cycles.

If you would like to cancel, reply on this e-mail by typing " I AGREE".

Best regards

Jackson

################################

The supervisor was equally unwilling to help and very nasty. I made a huge mistake booking with them. This agency is scammer. They charge my account $561 for their mistake. I do not recommend you purchased any ticket from them.

Review: I made a purchase through their website and the payment page timed out so I didn't know if my payment went through. I emailed the company and I got no response. I called the company and was transferred to three different people who couldn't help and was then hung up on. I get an email from the company saying to confirm by calling or emailing to confirm the total. I did call and email, but I still ended up getting charged. I have emails that I can verify that I cancelled but they refused to acknowledge it. I got charged $200 to cancel the and I believe it was their fault not mine. Desired Settlement: I would like to get my $200 back.

Review: We booked a flight from JFK to Kochi (Kerala, India) via Kuwait on 27th November 2014. JFK-KW- [redacted] with a layover in Kuwait for 1 hour 20min. Confirmation[redacted]. (This ticket was booked from the email ID [redacted]). It was written in the confirmation mail that "Within the next 24 hours you will receive a further email with all of your crucial booking reference numbers to help you manage your booking". However, within the next 24h we did not receive any mail from you with 'any of the crucial 'booking' reference numbers'. We therefore contacted the agent over the phone, but we were kept waiting on the phone line because "all your customer support personnel were busy on other calls". Finally, after a few days, after a lot of patient waiting, we managed to contact your call center help. You responded to our complaint by sending an email from SKYLINK TRAVEL (Agent ID06002448) an e-ticket on 4th December 2014 (2 days before the journey). However, this ticket issued was for a flight with a different course: JFK-LONDON-KW-Kochi. We went to the airport, but we were NOT ALLOWED to board, citing that we did not have a transit visa for London. Please note that transit visa is NOT required for a JFK-KW- [redacted] flight. The traveler had an urgent professional appointment/commitment. We therefore booked the right flight (JFK-KW- [redacted] through another agency. However,we had to spend another $2500 on booking and travel expenses because of the holiday rush and the late booking. We pray for justiceDesired Settlement: We need the company pay for the extra expenses incurred in buying fresh tickets from another travel agent and rescheduling the journey. This amount is $2500. We will provide the bills and receipts for the new tickets. We will provide the details of the original booking with BookAirFare, the actual ticket provided by Skylink (the clerical agents of BookAirFare) and documents on boarding pass denial because of transit visa requirements.

Review: I reserved a ticket through airfare web site then the next day I discovered that the return date is wrong so I searched first for the right date so I found $100 cheaper than the price I got, so I spoke with travel consultant at Airfare and he told me I have to pay $90 more to change the return date I told him how come the price for this date is $100 cheaper so take the original fare then after negotiation he told me that he will not charge me any thing more and he told me to replay to his email that I authorize him so I did that while i'm talking with him, then I never receive an email with the ticket as he told me so I emailed him but he never replay so I called him today and asked him about the email, he told me he will send it now and I will pay the original price plus $175 taxes fees and you replayed my email to authorize me with this fees I told him I replayed to your email while I was talking to you and you tried to add 90$ now you make it $175 so I asked to talk with a supervisor but he told me a supervisor will call u back but no body call me till now.Desired Settlement: The travel consultant lied to me and I need to refund the ticket or deal with this company again.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: I booked my flight online with BookAirfare.com on the 26th of October,2013 for a return flight between Winnipeg and Manila from March 15, 2014 and going back April 14, 2014. I paid C$1,388.83 for this. However, on the 11th of March,2014 they emailed me regarding some changes in my reservation particularly my inbound flight to Canada. I was already in the Philippines when I get the chance to scrutinize the flight changes. I thought they just delayed my flight for an hour but to my dismay, they changed my departure from Manila to Canada a day earlier (April 13 instead of April 14). In the new itinerary, it states that after my flight from Manila to Osaka,Japan (arriving at 1150am April 13 in Osaka), the connecting flight will be the following day at 4pm April 14. That is 28 LONG HOURS of waiting. Not only that, the airports are not connecting at all! The connecting flight they have given is in Narita, Japan which is many miles away from Osaka. I could not believe what they have done. I complained through email and called them to express my disagreement with this sudden change. Most of the customer service representatives hadn't helped and were just saying they will call me back or send an email for update which they never did except when I was repeatedly calling them. In most occasions, they would ask me to phone the airline myself and find out. It felt like my holiday was ruined because I had to deal with the mess they have done with my flight itinerary. I even spoke to their supervisor, which only happened once because most of the time they would say there was no supervisor on duty. When I spoke to the supervisor, he told me not worry because there was plenty of time to fix this. Despite this, the only solution he could offer was a partial refund. I did not accept this initially because I know that if I accept the refund, I would end up booking another flight for myself which would be extra expensive because it was close to the travel date. I asked them to book me a flight instead of giving refund. Disappointingly, they refused to book me for another flight. I had to accept the refund during a phone conversation with their agent because there was not much time left to find a 'proper' flight for me. But still I demanded for them to pay for the price change. None of these was my fault so I think they must shoulder the extra cost I would pay for booking a flight for myself. I had given up chasing them to sort this out. So, on the 6th of April, which was about a week before my flight, I bought a single ticket for Manila to Winnipeg flight. This had cost me C$1535.66. This was the cheapest flight I could find so I could return to Canada by 14th of April because I need to be back to work by 15th of April. Up to present, I am still chasing my refund from BookAirfare but they could give me a clear answer. I do not trust this agency anymore due to my experiences with them. I hope your good office can help me.Desired Settlement: 1. I want them to refund me the cost I paid to get a flight back to Winnipeg which is C$1535.66 not just a partial refund they were offering.

2. The company had to make a written apology and clarify what went wrong with this situation.

Review: On Aug. 1, 2014, I made a ticket purchase from Bookairfare in total amount of $1,561.59.

On Nov 8, 2014, at 4:09 PM (on the day of travel), I called Bookairfare and cancelled due to health related reasons. I purchased this ticket for my mother-in-law, Mrs [redacted], who took ill the period of her travel to Nigeria.

Same day, Bookairfare did not refund my money in-full but promised me $500 refund. They also went ahead and sent me an email same day Nov. 8th stating the refund of $500 therein the mail. Please see email below.

It is nearly eight (8) months now; each time I write or call Bookairfare, they tell me to allow them time to resolve the problem. Bookairfare further claimed they paid me the refund and requested that I sent them my bank statement for verification which I did and sent on February 21, 2015 (and to: [redacted] which he confirmed over-the-phone that he got).

At this point, I have ran out of patient with Bookairfare; I have given them enough time and complied to all their request to effect the promised $500 refund. I have numerously asked Bookairfare to provide me a timeframe to resolve this matter and they have continued to fool me around. At this point, I am exhausted and seek the help of Revdex.com to have this matter resolved.

I need my $500 refund.

Sincerely,

D[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want Bookairfare to pay me my entitlement; the $500 refund

Review: I would like to file a case against Bookairfare.com for the misrepresentation and fraud charges. They owe me a refund of $5958.60 and they haven't issued it in spite of my constant follow ups. They have on multiple occasion given the false information in writing that they are processing the refund but I haven't received it.

Complaint against : www.bookairfare.com (Address: 1000 N West St #1200, Wilmington, DE 19801)

Booking Reference #: [redacted]

Dispute Amount: $5958.60

Review: Fraud and Misrepresentation

Here are the facts regarding this case:

1) I booked the 5 tickets on Apr 19th with bookairfare.com -Attached is the online transaction receipt. Due to some personal reason I called to check the cancellation policy within few hours of booking. Merchant confirmed and said since I called within 24 hours I can cancel for a cancellation fees of $150- amount of $5958.60 will be refunded. They also confirmed the same in writing (Attached Item #1). Per that communication I authorized cancellation within 24 hours of the booking and merchant cancelled the within 24 hours.

2) The merchant (bookairfare.com) has since confirmed to me in writing multiple times that they owe me the refund and they will be issuing refund. However they have just been delaying the whole process. Table below summarizes and Attached item#2 & 3 has the written communication from the merchant regarding the refund processing. It is clear from this communication that this refund should have been processed long time back and there is a constant delay at their end.

3) I called 'Qatar Airlines' and they informed that they have not received any payment from Bookairfare.com against this booking. Hence they have no say in the cancellation of this ticket. Since the booking was with 'Qatar Airlines' and bookairfare.com being a travel agent hasn't sent payment to 'Qatar'; this in itself is fishy in regard to this case.

4) If you Google search "Bookairfare.com reviews", you will find multiple fraud complaints against this merchant. This is an international company who have cheated many US customers. Check these links for the consumer complaints:

Review:

The merchant has failed to issue to refund of $5958.60. They have misrepresented and lied that they have processed it when in reality that processing never happened. This is a fraud international website who have cheated many US customers. I ask that

1) This company issues my refund as soon as possible.

2) This website is shut down immediately so they cannot continue their fraud and unethical practices of stealing from consumers.Desired Settlement: The merchant has failed to issue to refund of $5958.60. Review: Review: This business is scamming people online and there are reported complaints online with numerous consumers. I purchased an airline ticket for a flight from SNA to SFO. They sold me the ticket, but overcharged $5, which was acknowledged by the airline. So, I contacted BookAirfare immediately via phone and on Sept. 13 they claimed they could not refund the charge card, only send a refund check, but it would take 10-14 days. It's been more than 14 days and they now claim I need to call back again at another time. I don't want to continue to call them and waste time over $5. It took them less than a minute to rob me but it takes them more than 2 weeks to issue a refund? This business appears to not be inclined to rectify the problem. I wish I had seen the reviews before I booked the ticket through their site. Please be advised this is my formal complaint regarding possible fraud for overcharging and then refusing to issue a refund.Desired Settlement: Refund $5 plus punitive compensation for hours of time spent, another $50.

Review: The airline changed flight time and now I am will be late for my next trip. I cannot fly with this flight anymore and this site won't provide me with refund. This is not my fault.

Review: I purchased a airline ticket from Bookairfare, on May 1st 2015. On May 2nd the confirmation was sent to me . the ticket was for 119.60.When I looked at my bank account I was charged 401.18. I called back on may 2nd and talked to a guy named Ben, he told me it should take 3-4 days. that never happened. I called back on may 5th ,the first guy hung up on me and I called again and was told it would be 3-4 weeks. I called again on may 7th and talked to a lady and she said by may 12th a week from the last call I will get it. that didn't happen . I called back on May 21st and this guy Armand said I would get it back in 3-4 days max. well, that didn't happen. I called again and this lady told me 6-8 weeks more. I wasn't happy. so I called back on may 30th and again talked to Ben and he said I would get it on Monday june 1st. again no money. I called on Monday and talked to a lady she told me again 6-8 weeks. It has been one month. and all I get is different days. I don't know what else to do. I have proof on how much the ticket was . Desired Settlement: I just want my money back that they had no right to take. I was to pay 119.60 and they took 401.18. they owe 281.58

Review: I used the company to book a flight. The confirmation e-mail stated I would be contacted within 24-hours. I was not and the company failed to respond to any inquiries even though I was charged for the flight. The flight was never booked and I had to book a different flight so I was able to go.Desired Settlement: I have formally disputed the charge with my credit card company but wish to alert the Revdex.com as to this fraudulent company that happily charges customers but fails to deliver. My hope is that this will assist in getting my refund and that this company will hopefully be reprimanded for their poor practices.

Review: On May 6, 2015 (Friday) the father of our friend passed away in Kiev Ukraine. Our friend is a widow with 4 children and on a tight budget so we helped her out. She needed to fly from Pensacola FL to Kiev Ukraine before 10:00 am, May 9th (Monday) for the burial service. We found a flight through BookAirFare out of Jacksonville FL to Kiev, Ukraine, round trip and booked it for $964.47. I provided my credit card info and received a confirmation of her itinerary for a flight out on Saturday May 7th at 3:44pm. Our friend drove 6 hours from Pensacola to Jacksonville on Saturday, May 7th, and at the check-in was told at 2:30pm that BookAirFare had not yet paid the airline and her flight was to take off in just over an hour at 3:44pm. She called me and I called BookAirFare. They told me that there was a complication with one leg of the itinerary and that the itinerary had to be amended and that if she were to fly I would have to pay for a new itinerary that would now cost me $1460.00. With no alternative I had to pay it in order to get her on the next flight flying out of Jacksonville at 5:39pm to get her to the funeral in time. This is a scam that this company is running by sending confirmations of itineraries and then when the customer arrives they give a excuse that due to complications the seating is not available any longer at that price and you must buy new tickets at a much increased cost. What a shame that this company put our dear friend through such a stressful event, in such a time as this, that she was crying and very frustrated through the whole ordeal. I have spoken to several agents at BookAirFare and none of them were helpful or understood what exactly was the reason the seating was not available. I only got the run around when I asked how this all came about.Desired Settlement: Reimburse the difference of price. of approx $500. In fact, reimburse the whole amount due to the amount of stress that the company put our friend, my wife and myself through not to mention all the time and effort while on call waiting for several hours throughout the whole ordeal trying to sort it out with no success with BookAirFare.

I also got the trip protection plan so in case something happened . Something did happen and now I am unable to travel on that day . I contacted the company and now they are telling me that the trip protection is only for 24 hours after you buy the flight . No where in the process of me buying the plan protection did it say that . or else I would not even waste my money . I was told that I should have read the details . Thats false advertisement .When I got it all it said was trip protection if something should happen . I was not even asking for my money back I just wanted to change the flight to something else because I won't be able to make it due to family matters . They should state that right on the protection if that was the case. Also why would anyone waste money on a 24 hour trip protection when the trip is for next year.Desired Settlement: I just wish to change my flight with the flight protection that I got. It is unfair that they use false advertisement to trip people into paying more money for something they can't use.

Thank you ,

Review: I have bought 3 air tickets for 3 members of my family (1 adult and 2 kids). The adult is my mother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer stage 4 and will not be able to make the flight. As she was only adult that can fly with the kids, I had to cancel tickets for all of them. The bookairfare cancelled the flight and did not refund anything. I did not cancel the tickets at my will. This situation is force-major. I shall be entitled at least some money that I paid for the ticked that amounted to USD 3,845.81.Desired Settlement: full refund

Review: I booked a flight with this site in January 2015, it has now come to my attention that my return flight has been cancelled, when I called to check the status, I was told they will contact the airline and find out what to do. I was also told not to worry about it because the flight is not until May. Since that first phone call I have written e-mails and made phone calls and can not get a response from anyone.

I never recieved an e-mail from boodairfare regarding the cancellation, my daughter happened to look at the airlines website and noticed it.Desired Settlement: I need to have an up to date and confirmed flight itinerary.

Review: On Monday, November 24th, I booked roundtrip airfare to Ireland from Cincinnati, OH through bookairfare.com for a 7:30 a.m. United Airlines flight leaving on 10/1/15, with a transfer in Chicago to the international carrier, Aer Lingus at 7:44 a.m. Chicago time. The flight was scheduled to arrive in Dublin on Friday 10/2/15 at 5:15 a.m.. The return trip departs Dublin on October 17, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. via Aer Lingus , arriving in Chicago's O'Hare Airport at 1:50 p.m. the same evening, with transfer to a United flight & return to Cincinnati's CVG airport at 9:42 p.m. While I paid the quoted purchase price of $929.33, received an onscreen confirmation with the flight summary, which included a Reference #of [redacted], I was also informed that the e-tickets via e-mail would follow within 24-48 hours. No tickets have been sent more than 10 days later & the company has not responded to an e-mail inquiry.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of the $929.33 purchase price.

Review: I was charged for a flight I booked through their services. They then proceeded to charge me triple that initial amount with an added fee after I requested a change in my return date even though I have proof through email that they would only be charging me the change fee. I was charged by the airlines and by this company for the same flight. I contacted them multiple times for an explanation of the costs and they could not give me any valid explanations of why I was charged and they would not change it.Desired Settlement: I desire that the legitimacy of this company be inspected as I have run across multiple accounts of this company charging multiple times for the same flights without explanation and ripping people off.
