Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Our complaint against Brake Check remains ongoing,...

for almost two months now.  Since repairs were made to their work, they have delayed any resolution.  We kept the parts that caused the damage and mailed them to Brake Check last month.  They asked for additional parts which, of course, had been discarded.  They said they had to send the parts first to the vendor, and now to the manufacturer, to assure they are the actual parts, casting aspersions on two separate Dodge service centers, implying that they had not sent the ball joints that caused all the problems, costing us over $3000 to repair. They also have not responded to the rear brake adjustment we had to have done just one week after their repairs, at a cost of $108. We feel Brake Check is just delaying as we are retired senior citizens on a long road trip just passing through Texas who will eventually give up and go away.  Is this their business practice? There is also the sales competition among their stores that we heard a manager discussing on the phone during the seventeen hours we spent in their stores.  It may explain our original $2000 bill after coming in with a simple growl in our front brakes.  Did we even need the front end work which ended up costing us another $3000 to repair? We feel Brake Check should reimburse our expenses to fix and repair their work.

The $30 [redacted] is referring to is an installation fee associated with the lifetime warranty on the parts.LIMITED LIFETIME BRAKE PARTS WARRANTYAll Limited Lifetime Warranties on brake parts apply when purchased in conjunction with the Limited Lifetime Brake Pad andShoe Warranty, except one-ton trucks and commercial fleet vehicles which are covered under our limited warranty listed below.Under this warranty, all new (not remanufactured, used or rebuilt) brake parts are covered when the installation fee is paid to anyBrake Check center. This warranty covers brake parts as long as you own this vehicle. “Dealer” or “Outside Procured” parts areexcluded. As stated above, warranties are honored when a customer pays the installation fee.  [redacted] is refusing to pay this fee.  All parts considered for warranty must be on the vehicle at the time of inspection.

We have spoken with the customer and have agreed to refund him the $75.00 for the failed rebuild.  Further, we are disheartened that we weren't able to meet the customer's expectations and apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused.

I am rejecting this response because:For all of the reasons I previously presented in detail throughout this dispute, I reject entirely Brake Check's demands in its mostrecent communication.   My complaint is unresolved. Sincerely,[redacted]

Regarding Mr. [redacted], we have done every thing in our power to accomodate this customer. However he insists on a refund and or parts replaced free of charge. I have found no damage to Mr. [redacted]' vehicle and regret his dissatisfaction. [redacted] Forero has also tried to help Mr. [redacted] to no avail. - [redacted], Corporate Director

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because of neglect on behalf of Brake Check employees.  During the first alignment the employee conducted the alignment and then told me they could not do the full adjustment because the vehicle needed the camber bolt kit.  Due to Brake check performing a partial alignment without prior approval from me, this caused the outer part of the tires to wear down in less than 500 miles.  If the partial alignment was not conducted the tires would not have worn.  Also, due to this misalignment this may have caused the ball joints to wear out.  Usually worn ball joints cause inner tire wear and not outer tire wear.  Brake Check did not state there was an issue with the ball joints until after the third visit and the tires were worn.  If I knew the ball joints needed to be replaced prior to the alignment this service would have been made and then the alignment would have been conducted.  It does not make any sense to pay for multiple alignments if suspension work and camber bolts needed to be completed because this would cause misalignment so I would have had all the work completed prior to making any alignment to save time and money.  I must continue to seek remuneration due to Brake Check's negligence.

We have worked with the customer and are refunding her $300 for the cost of the pump.

We have attempted to work with the customer to resolve their issue, asking to inspect the vehicle and have offered to complete any needed repairs at no cost to the customer.  However, the customer refuses to bring the vehicle back.  We are denying their request for a refund. - [redacted],...

I am rejecting this response because: Since they want to lie about trying to contact me I have no alternative but to go to small claims. Thank you Revdex.com.
Hopefully this complaint stays in their file.

Brake Check believes that if Mr. [redacted] had any legal ground to stand on for his alleged claims we would have already heard from his attorney as he threatened to do. Brake Check feels at this point, Mr. [redacted] is attempting to ‘sling mud’ at a reputable business in order to get his way. Brake Check believes that Mr. [redacted] took it upon himself to repair his vehicle, if this was actually done, because he knew we had no liability in the situation. Fortunately the judicial system is set up in a manner that protects individuals and business owners from this type of harassment.  I deeply apologize for not being able to get to a resolution that meets your satisfaction.[redacted] E [redacted] ###-###-####

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I would like to add that I did, in fact, come in 3 separate times after all the parts were put in and got an alignment all three times and every time it was still off and veered to the right. I was told it was because my tires were wearing funny and I needed new struts and new tires. I went to discount tire (where brake check sent me) and I was told my tires were just fine. I also had 2 other shops look at my struts and we're told these were fine as well. When I went to complain to brake check AFTER having the alignment done correctly, I was NEVER offered the refund by the manager. He said he could not offer me anything. So that is a lie. I will accept the 64 dollar refund. However, I am very dissatisfied with the way brake check handles their business and their clients. The manager at the Victoria branch was rude and obviously a liar.

I am sorry to hear of the disappointing experience you had at Brake Check. I'm not sure of the details and would like to research. I am forwarding your notes to Corporate Director who will address these issues. We hope we can get to the bottom of this and win you back as a Brake Check customer.

I am rejecting this response because:if they will refer to the receipt from February it clearly shows that the ball joints were replaced.  Now the tire came off on June 15 . How are they not responsible?  I would like to speak with the VP of this company so that he can be informed of how poorly his business is treating PAYING customers .

Customer was advised several times that our warranties do not provide for refunds due to customer satisfaction. Our warranties only apply to workmanship for a set duration depending on services purchased. - Brian Smith, Operations Director, Brake Check

Took my sons 97 Camry in for wiring issues with lights, been back 3 times and now no lights work.We took our sons 97 camry to Brake Check to get the tail lights and clearance lights fixed and immediatetly the head lights started acting up as soon as we picked the car up. We had then taken the car back to get the head lights fixed and they stated they worked on it for four hours and couldn't figure it out, after taking the stereo out and cutting a wire and putting the stereo back in, we picked up the car and there were no lights working at all. There were no tail lights, head lights or dash lights. The tail lights and dash lights worked when we had taken it in to have the headlights fixed. I had called [redacted] and told him there were no lights at all working and he had told me to bring it back in and they would get the taillights and dashlights working again. I had arrived there on Tuesday morning and the mechanic took the keys from me moved the car to a different spot on the driveway, came inside the building and put the keys on the counter and told me there was nothing he could do to fix it. The mechanic also sated he had spent four hours working on the car after having it for a week and he could not fix it and refused to fix it. The mechanic also told me when I took it somewhere to get the headlights fixed the taillights would work, it was also stated that they didn't need to mess with electrical he could make the same money doing easier jobs. [redacted] all I wanted were the taillights and dashlights to work again [redacted] In turn I had brought the car back home with the same problem I brought it in to Brake Check to be fixed the first time.Desired SettlementA refund for the repairs and compensation for the fuel we used driving it back and forth for the same problem it initially went in for. [redacted]Business Response [redacted]Customer arrived and stated they had replaced the stereo in the vehicle and were now having issues, they lost the tail lights and we were asked to wire to a different switch. All was working when the vehicle left the first time. Approximately 3 months later we were notified by customer that headlights not working. The vehicle was brought back in and we spent considerable time tracing and testing the wiring. My technician did some research and found out that if a certain procedure wasn't followed when installing an aftermarket stereo there could be extensive wiring and module damage, to have this properly diagnosed would require a dealership. In an act of good faith the customer was billed 1 hour labor but we worked on this vehicle for over 4. [redacted]. We were more than fair with this customer. The billing dates on the invoices issued between the first visit and second visit is my proof of the time variances and dollars charged. [redacted]. There will be no refund but they are more than welcome to settle up on what we didn't bill them.
