Bryants Powerwashing Reviews (64)

Review: On Friday, September 19, we had Bryant’s Powerwash come to power wash our home. After the house had dried we noticed that the house looked just as dirty as before and we now had one side of the house that was bleached out. I contacted Bryant the day after (Saturday) and was told that they would send someone else back to fix it. They said that it was probably not rinsed enough. In addition to the house still looking dirty, there was an overwhelming smell of bleach. It was so bad that it was making my eyes tear. The smell lasted all weekend. Monday came and went as well as the rest of week. The following Wednesday, my husband finally called to see when someone would be out to redo the house. He spoke to [redacted], one of the [redacted], who was very concerned that this had happened and wanted to get it fixed as soon as possible. She called me to make sure I would be home so that I could talk to the new technician on our areas of concern.

The new technician arrived and I walked our house and pointed out the areas of concern. I told him that they said that [redacted], the technician, probably did not rinse it well enough. He also noticed the discolor in the siding and said that it was oxidization. He said if you go up and rub your hand on it you will have white residue on your hand. He went up to rub it and nothing, no white residue on his hand as he stated there would be. He said, let me rewash it and that should help it. When he finished the house I went out to talk to him about it. The one side of the house was still an issue. He went on to say that is was faded because of the sun. I told him that that could not be the case because the front of my house gets just as much sun and the front of the house looks fine. He just kept saying that all he could do for now was to report back to [redacted] at what had he had seen. Then he went over to one of our neighbors house and said that it looked just like ours. I pointed out it did not and was darker than our siding after the power wash. We continued to discuss this, going back and forth about it. I pointed out again that it was not the sun that caused the fading because the other adjoining wall looked completely different and it gets the same amount of sun.

On Friday, I expected to hear back from [redacted] on what she thought. It was not until around 1:30 that I called to talk to her and to try and figure out what now could be done to fix the problem. I was told that she had just left and I asked for her to return my call. To give her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she did not go back to work and she did not get my call, I expected that she would return my call on Monday. No call at all on Monday. I called on Tuesday afternoon and asked for her. I am not sure who I spoke to but they went over the Techs notes and said that he said it was faded due to the weather and that my house again looked just like my neighbors. I told them they could not compare houses and that it was not acceptable that our home was only 5 years old. She told me that [redacted] was due to be iat work in one hour and she would have him call me.

Later that evening [redacted] called me to discuss our house. I once again explained what had happen and he went on to tell me it was oxidization. I explained to him again that the house was only 5 years old. He then went on to tell me that our house had mold, mildew and algae growing on it which they took care of and cleaned. I told him that we did not have mold or algae growing on the house, just dirt. He continued on to tell me that oxidization happens on the shady side of the house. This really made me start to think what is going on here, that the side in question is on the sunny side of the house. He told me that he has been doing this for 18 years and never has had an issue, the chemical that they use had no more bleach in it then a pool and that it was completely safe to keep on the house even overnight. I explained that I did some research and found that if [redacted] is applied it could restore the siding color. I let him know that now I was going to have to hire someone to come and treat that side of the house. He referred me to his brother in-law who is a handyman and stated “he is reasonably priced”. He stated he could not do it because his company is a power washing company. I appreciated his recommendation however declined this . I kept asking why would only one side of my house oxidized and not the other sides. He had no answer for me and just kept say it was oxidization and there was nothing he could do for it. Between all the different excuses and his unwillingness to recognize the problem, I ended the conversation. I would never recommend or ever use them again. It is sad to know that there are people and companies that won’t stand behind their work.Desired Settlement: We have no desire to do anymore business with this company. We would just like a refund to our credit card.

Response:

Revdex.com spoke with the business. The side of the home that gets the most sunlight is having the issue with oxidation. If it was a problem with the chemicals the business used the entire home would have an issue not just one side. No refund will be provided as the issue is caused by nature not their business’s wrongdoing.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Three sides of my home gets full sun. If oxidation was the issue you would see the washed out look on the three sides. The one side that is not as sunny looks just like the front and other side of the house. The house is only 5 years old and should not look this way.

Review: Custom front door damaged (stain removed) when power washed (PW) 5-12-14. Did not request door PW. Co-owner said to get the door fixed, so contacted door company. Days later she said technician wanted to see the damage. Technician belatedly claimed damage could not have been from the PW or chemical sealant and must have been there before he PW it. He added that the damage was due to oxidation from sunlight and asked how old the door was. (Only 3.5 yrs old; installed 9-17-10.) Numerous witnesses saw good condition before PW and damage after PW and confirmed to owner. Door company said door should not have been PW. Requested information to contact owners liability insurance, but they refused. Owner said he understood how we felt as his technician was the last person involved, but said door company probably more responsible, as door must be defective. Promised he would contact them to settle the issue between them and call us in next two days. We never heard back from him.New door installed in August ($1466; receipt available). Requested owners pay for new door. Told owners if they have no insurance (despite their claim) and had to pay themselves, we would accept half our total costs of the new door and the $369 PW ($917 total). No response was received from[redacted].Filed complaint with FFX Co. Consumer Affairs. After first refusing to answer, owner continued to claim damage already present. Only offered to provide paint for door, but custom color is baked on in factory. In December, we wrote co-owner and requested simply a refund of our power wash charge ($369), as we were obviously not satisfied. Once again, owners have refused to answer.Desired Settlement: We are willing to accept a refund of the $369 power wash charge as a final settlement.

To [redacted] myself [redacted] went to [redacted] house onJune 16, 2014 and looked at door. His door had some type of coating on it,which was flaking off. I explained to [redacted] that we use low pressure and ourchemical we use is a [redacted] product which is 100% bio degrable bought at [redacted].I told customer that I could demonstrate to show him that it is impossible forthis to happen, he said no way yourcompany did it I was willing to provide myself [redacted] refused for me to showhim- all he wanted was insurance information and nothing else. I told [redacted]if he bought paint I would send painter out to paint door because we were thelast person out there. He also rejected me on that Bryants is not responsiblefor anything. When power washing a home it is impossible to not clean doorwater and chemicals will run down home. Again if [redacted] would have let me showhim how we clean with low pressure he would also no that Bryant’s power-washingdid no damage.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[redacted] continues to simply deny that his company damaged our front door despite the evidence, including witnesses, listed in our original complaint that the door had not deteriorated before his cleaning and was damaged immediately after his cleaning. He won't even refund the cost of the power washing despite our obvious dissatisfaction. [redacted] did not offer to demonstrate how his power washing could not have caused the damage - he simply repeated several times that it could not have been his fault. Even if he did demonstrate a low power now, it would not explain what happened the day of the damage. The flaking present on the door was the paint that had been damaged by his power washing. You cannot simply paint the door. This door was custom made, with the paint baked on in the factory. The door company confirmed that the damage was due to the power washing. This was explained to [redacted] verbally and in writing. Most telling is that [redacted] promised directly to my wife and me that he would contact the door company and "work it out with them." He further promised that he would contact us within 2 days of our meeting. We never heard from him, again, which was how he and his wife had dealt with us during this whole process.

Review: Hired Bryant's Powerwashing to clean my patio wall and front walkway. They missed the tops of several columns and the two steps on the back patio. I called and was told that the technician actually cleaned them, but that the mildew and stains wouldn't come out. I told them the rest of the patio looked great and it had the same kinds of stains (thus hiring a company to clean them off in the first place). I was told several things. First that the technician tried but could not get it clean. Then I was told it was "mortar seeping through." This was especially funny since the tops of the columns and stairs have a 2" thick cap on them. Next I was told that the technician said he explained to me on site before he got started that he wouldn't be able to clean the stains off of those areas. This was patently false, as he never even addressed the columns or steps when we spoke.

I was promised someone would come back and touch up the areas. The same technician came back out and told his office that the issues were taken care of. He never bothered to knock and we never saw him on our property. I called the office again and was asked to take pictures and email them. I did. I called back again to make sure the got the pictures and was again promised that someone would be out to clean the areas he originally missed. I asked them to be sure to talk to my wife before they left so that we could be certain it was done right. Several days later the technician came and cleaned the tops of the columns. All of the stuff he claimed wouldn't come off, or was mortar seeping through, or that he said was cleaned previously, came sparkling clean this time. My wife stood with him and asked about the two steps that connect to a column he had just washed. He said, "I tried to get them clean and it won't come off." She asked him to please try again. He refused.

Once again I called their office. The same individual I had spoken to numerous times apologized and said that she would have the owner give me a call. That was two weeks ago. The steps are still not cleaned and no one has bothered to call me back. I called today and spoke to her again. She said that the owner had been out of town and that he was just now getting caught up on his messages. Why did she promise me a call from him if she knew he was going to be out of town for two weeks?

In summary, my complaint is simple. I paid over $400 for my patio wall and front walkway to be cleaned and portions were missed. I have tried unsuccessfully for over three weeks to have them make it right. I have called no less than ten times. I have sent the pictures at their request. I have met with the technician on site and STILL they won't simply give me what I paid for. My phone calls have been frustrating because the employee (while apologizing) is also somewhat argumentative. She is so busy talking and telling my why it hasn't been done that it's hard to communicate. Today's phone call was left with yet another promise that they will come finish what they started over three weeks ago.Desired Settlement: I want them to promptly finish what I paid them to do.

Bryant's Powerwashing

Review: I had Bryant's Powerwashing return to powerwash my home in July, 2014. I wanted them to powerwash two wooden railings and clean my chimney too. I was given excuses as to why they could not do that. They scheduled a date and the day before I received a call that there had been some equipment problems. They came the next day to powerwash my home. A few days after they were done the plants and shrubs around my house began to wilt and die. I called and told them. The lady who answered said the water was probably too hot and it burned my plants. She asked for photos so I sent them and followed up with a call. I was told someone would call. Nothing. I sent the photos a second time and emailed them. No reply.

I also told them I did not want my shed powerwashed when I scheduled my house powerwashing. Previously they cleaned my shed for free with the house. Once they told me it would be extra I told the lady I did not want it done. They did it and charged me $50 for three sides in addition to my house cleaning.

I was a repeat customer with them. Disappointed that no one cared enough to contact me to investigate the plant damage.Desired Settlement: I would like to be contacted and receive a partial refund.

Response:

The customer scheduled a house wash and wax to be done as well as an 8x12 shed (3 sides only, don't do side up against the fence) for an extra 50.00. We didn't clean the shed in the past. He asked for the shed cleaning this year and he agreed to the price on July 8th. We did reply back to customer by email and did receive pictures of his plants and the tech that performed the work did go out to the customers house and looked at all plants. The tech did take photos as well and said that the hot water did make the plants wilt but did not kill them. We here at Bryants Powerwash want to keep your business and because you are a previous customer of ours we will send a refund of 100.00 for the concerns of the plants. Thank you, [redacted] vp
