I was charged a $206.99 fee to activate my Roku. I was told this was necessary in order to have service. I paid for lifetime of multiple devices.
I tried setting up a Roku device in October 2019. I received an error message and was directed to call tech support. When I spoke with tech support which is supposed to be a recorded line, they informed me of a new law that just went into effect and there was now an activation fee. I was told that if I paid $206.99, I would have lifetime support for multiple devices (up to 15). I just recently tried to set up another *** device on 15JUNE2020 and received the same error message. I called tech support and they said that I needed to pay an additional $110. I was informed that the first fee was not for multiple devices. After some arguing, they offered to initiate a query. I spoke to a gentleman named Casper and was given query *** They said it could take up to 5 days for a response. I informed them that I was not paying another fee as I have already paid for multiple devices. They were insistent that I had not paid for multiple devices, but would offer me a $79.99 activation fee. I refused. I asked to speak with the supervisor. A few seconds later another person was on the phone trying to persuade me to pay another fee. I told them that I would wait for the results of the query. We ended the call. Within a few minutes, I received a call from Caligeeks trying to resolve the issue with another activation fee of $79.99. When I called tech support on 15JUNE2020, I called XXX-XXX-XXXX. When they returned my call it was received from XXX-XXX-XXXX.

Desired Outcome

I request a full refund due to fraudulent misrepresentation.

Adam from caligeeks , has been working on my computer for several years now after I was once scammed into allowing access to my laptop. Adam reversed the scam and I'm I've been a happy customer ever since.

company intercepted my activation for a ROKU device and convinced me they were the new support arm for ROKU and the new terms reqd payment. SCAM
Installed new ROKU device on father-in-law TV. Activation required by mfg. The phone# and website listed was hacked and sent me to this 3rd party site. 3rd Party represented ROKU indicating new terms and conditions now for Roku, required to complete the activation. Payment due of $169.99 total, Raul was polite and very knowledgable and it was clear that this was the new support company for ROKU. I should have know better. Supposedly there are free tv channels and lifetime support. I am unable to verify this.I received multiple emails with receipt of what was paid, the ROKU device did activate and began adding channels, and what the representative was saying appeard to be correct and happening. I felt all along that something was wrong. Not sure how he knew myu email address, however I recall that he may have asked me to change my password and he already had my email address so I am not usre what he was able to access.

My complaint is that ROKU indicates that there is no new terms and conditions and there is never a charge for activation. I would like to receive my full refund for something not provided.

Desired Outcome

My complaint is that ROKU indicates that there is no new terms and conditions and there is never a charge for activation. I would like to receive my full refund for something not provided.

I purchased the Roku device on 05/23/2020. When prompted to set up the device it prompted me to call 1-866 436-0333. I have bought two other Roku.
I purchased the Roku at Sams store on 05/23/20. Model number 3930. I called the number that was prompted on the TV screen 1-866-436-0333. Spoke to a you man that advised me I needed to pay to have access to the Roku. I told him that I never had to pay pay either $115.98 for three years or $152.99 for a lifetime. Now what I'm very distributing is that once I can him my email address he could see all of my Roku devices. I paid $152.99 under order number 36936. I had to submit an electronic signature. I used my MasterCard debit card. The company has my home address as well.

Desired Outcome

I am requesting a full refund for the $152.99. I was scammed by Caligeeks.

Caligeeks charged me a fee of 107.95 to get my Ruko tv activated. This is a free service
I was misled when I called the number on the screen after getting an error trying to activate Ruko. Steve *** said there was a mandatory charge plus 30 per year fee. This appears to have been a scam. His number is X XXX XXX-XXXX. Roku is a free service, I found out. I see there are a number of complaints about this issue already on your site.

Desired Outcome

Charges removed

Fraudulent crime committed when attempting to activate a streaming service on a new TV purchase. Robbed for $89.99.
While attempting to activate a new TV with Roku bundled in as an advertised free service and per the owner's manual, an error message is displayed prompting the end user to call an 800 number for further assistance. Mysteriously, one becomes in contact with a 3rd party that is neither affiliated with Roku or the tv manufacturer. The representative falsely states that the reason one cannot activate their Roku device is because of a new policy implemented by Roku where one must pay a fee to activate the service. If one has never used Roku streaming services in the past and they see a toll free number pop-up on the new tv screen, naturally, one would be led to believe that the source being called is legitimate. Well, it turns out not to be the case at all! Over the phone one is told that this is all about activating their new Roku device based on new policy by Roku which recently took effect. When the contract is sent the tables turn. The contract is all about Roku support. Who needs Roku support when Roku has a robust support system in place that is capable of answering a myriad of inquiries and all for free?

This form of deceptive practice is unacceptable. It's as close to total identity theft as it gets without getting the final crumbs of information to wreak havoc on one's credit and financial well-being.

Problem date- 27 May 20. Purchase date - 27 May 20. Payment Method - Visa credit card.

Desired Outcome

Put these thieves out of business! The sooner the better. Who else is tied into this scam? It's well plotted out and makes me wonder how a number can pop-up during initial new tv streaming service activation. I'm letting my credit card company handle the reverse charge. The Revdex.com should look into this issue further and take the necessary legal action to put a stop to this crime.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Merchant fully refunded the charge, as they should have. Be advised that the representative over the phone lied to me stating that there is an activation charge for a new Roku device. Then a contract is sent for support and says nothing about an activation charge. This organization is not affiliated with Roku.

When attempting to hook up our Roku device in our home we were directed to Caligeeks through the site. Caligeeks then charged us to hook up the Roku.
We googled Roku assistance on the web and were directed to Caligeeks to call for help on 5/24/20. The scammer then directed us to pay 142.00 for a 5 year Roku hook up. After we realized that there should not be a fee for hook up, we called our bank to report a Caligeeks.

Desired Outcome

We would like this company to be held accountable for this fraudulent action.

This is a fraudulent company used to collect a service charge for roku.
5/26/2020 was when this charge was collected.
This is a company scamming people to pay to hook up a roku. They are not affiliated with roku.

Deceived into paying $89.99 to activate a Roku device
While in the process of activating a new Roku device an error message appeared on screen along with a number to call to resolve. I was informed that a fee of $89.99 was required to register my device and that I would not be able to move past that screen in the activation process unless I provided a credit card number to pay it. Afterwards I see the Roku website states that there is never a charge for activation. I am not sure how they hijack the activation process but I see from other complaints that I am not the only one.

Desired Outcome

I wish to have my $89.99 refunded.

I was never informed of an option not to use the service of the company. My money was refunded so I am satisfied with that and do not wish to pursue further, but their response and business practice is very deceiving

Regardless, your money has been refunded already and it is credited to your account already.

I was misled into paying for an unnecessary "activation fee" for my Roku tv
This happened on 5/25/29 and I was charged $142.95 against my debit card for an activation fee that was not necessary.
The company website is ***@caligeeks.com
The phone # is XXX-XXX-XXXX

Desired Outcome

I have contacted my bank and am in the process of having the charge replaced but wanted to notify the Revdex.com to file a formal complaint
