Capital One Financial Corporation Reviews (2378)

Review: We submitted $200.00 to acquire a secured credit card through Capitol One on the advice of our attorney. Our account was closed due to an unfortunate bankruptcy in October of 2012. The bankruptcy was discharged in October of 2013 and yet Capitol One has not refunded our $200.00 security deposit. We have made phone call after phone call and spoken to numerous account reps and Senior Account Reps. At one point we were promised the refund within 5 business days. That did not happen and we are still waiting for our money a year and a half after our account was closed.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

We would like our security deposit of $200 refunded immediately.

Review: The total balance of the credit card, [redacted], payment was made on Jan 27, 2014 using bill payment service provided by [redacted]. The bill payment service has been used for several years. According to the payment service record, the payment was withdrawn from the checking account on January 29, 2014. But the payment was not posted on January 29, 2014. When contacted several times from early morning to late evening on January 29, 2014 to verify the payment as fund from the credit card account was needed urgently. But they stated that no payment was received. As the credit was unable to be used, the total payment for my towed car could be made not on January 29, 2014 but on January 30, 2014 when the payment was posted. Therefore, additional [redacted] fee for a day of January 30, 2014 had to be paid. When the issue was raised and $35.00 refund was requested they responded as if they could not understand what I was talking about. According to the official monthly billing statement issued on Feb. 24, 2014, the payment was made on January 29, 2014. I might have made a mistake by checking the credit card account balance just after midnight on January 29, 2014 due to the urgent need of the credit. I will take a lesson from this experience but as they count every single minute for late payment, they must take a full responsibility for making the credit unavailable even after the full payment was taken out of the customer's checking account. Therefore, the refund of $35.00 fee paid on January 30, 2014 is requested.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund The [redacted] additional fee accumulated on January 30, 2014 due to the unavailable credit regardless of the taken payment.

Regards,

Review: I had a credit card through Capital One which I had closed today, 1/14/2014. My due date was 1/11/2014 and I made a bank draft payment on Capital One's credit card website on 1/11/2014. Next day, I noticed there is a $25.00 late fee charge stating I hadn't paid my credit card payment by the 1/11/2014 due date. I spoke with [redacted] on Capital One's website chat and he stated I didn't pay it until the 1/13/2014. I'm not having any association with a company that is and has done me wrong. I don't like companies that do me wrong and expect me to stay with them. I only wanted this credit card to build up my credit FICO score; don't need it or this dishonest company. I had explained that I did indeed make the payment on the due date stated above, but they didn't care if I was telling the truth or not. I will never use this company again and will spread the word about them on what happened to me.Desired Settlement: I want the late charge of $25.00 to be dropped from my account and an apology on the dissbelief of my testimonial to the representative.

Review: This is a Capital One Bank complaint. First, I would like to indicate I did try to resolve the issue with a phone call on 3/25/2015, with [redacted] at 12:05pm without success. She claimed that with limited asscess to my account it was impossiable for her or her supervisor to see the activitie.

Okay, here is the issue Capital One has been fraudulently charging my account from 2008 thru 2012. for cash advance purchases that were never madeon my account at a high interest at a rate of 24.90%. They list it under the monthly interest charge as INTEREST CHARGE CASH. My problem is I have tracked as far as 3/10/2010 on my monthly statements a total of $67.46 but I can't see my statements from 2008 till 2/03/2010. What this means to me is if I have been false charged cash advance charges then my balance is high therefore I paided more interest than I should have.

I believe Capital One Banks owes my about $100.00 in credit.

Capital One Platinum # 69560

I was in the process of paying off my account when I noticed the erroneous, fraudulently charges. This company is so deceiful with it unetical practices, I just had to file this complaint plus I want the money owed that was stolen from me.

Review: I have been a loyal customer of CapitalOne for many years despite the repeated issues that this company kept putting before me. However, several days ago my account with them got blocked for unexplained reason. As I have called to find out the cause of this problem I was told that the 'Executive Response Team' needed to talk to me. I have actually requested to talk to them on several occasion over the course of the previous month, but my requests and voicemails that I've left have always been unanswered. I was also told that until I speak with someone from that department I won't be able to reactivate, nor close the account, nor withdraw my cash-back dollars. I have once again requested to receive the call from them, which hasn't happened over the course of the past 3 days, even though their claimed turn around time is 24-48 hours. There was, however, a change on my account: it is now listed as 'Closed' and the ~$6500 in cash-back points that have been accumulated on my account have disappeared.Desired Settlement: At the very least I would like to receive that promised phone call from whatever 'response team' I am supposed to receive it from. What I would also like is for CapitalOne to pay-out the cash-back dollars that I have accumulated on the account and which remained the main reason why I loyally continued to use this card despite the multitude of hurdles this company likes to impose on their customers. Ideally, I would like to have my account reopened, however that is not mandatory at all.

Review: I had a credit card and it was charged off. it has been paid in full. yet capital one still continues to report it to the 3 credit reporting agencies, last updated in august. this was charged off in 2012, debt was sold and paid. so why is it still reporting. All 3 are saying something different from upid to charged off to paid. please address this. I would like to see this removed from all 3 credit reports. the constant updates on a debt you no longer owed for sometime are really hurting me. Thanks and I hope for a quick resolutionMy complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: I would like this tradline removed completely from all 3 credit reporting agencies

Review: I had recently had fraud on my account and was told they wouldn't charge me for the frauds well then later on they said they would not be able to credit back my account since it seemed legit when it wasn't. Now I look and find out they had put back another charge on top of that. I am not happy with this company and want to get this resolved. How can you promise if somebody conducts fraud on your account to credit it back then later on say you can't.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund for the two fees that I didn't authorize which would be a total of like $422 dollars and some cents.

Review: In late January of this year, I had begun travelling due to work. Before embarking on my trip , I had setup auto payments through my Wells Fargo checking account to pay the upcoming payment due for Feb 1st for the Capital One .

However Wells Fargo failed to execute the payment, even though I received an online confirmation that the payment had been setup. I would not find out about this mishap until my return home in March, by which time the account was over 30 days late. I had over $25,000 in my checking account at the time.

As per Capital One’s customer service department request I forwarded them documentation from Wells Fargo that proved their error and showed I had sufficient funds to make the payment. My complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: This late has caused my perfect credit score to drop by 100 points and has caused me from refinancing my home, I have followed through with Cap One's request to provide them all the documentation they required. I am requesting that in light of this evidence the March 2015 late payment be removed from my credit report

Review: We sent a forty one dollars ($41.00) payment to Capital One for [redacted] checking acct. [redacted] with the check [redacted] from our [redacted] account ....4928. Today 08/11/2014 the Capital One Bank pulled out of our [redacted] account Four Thousand One Hundred Dollars ($4,100.00), money that we don't have and [redacted] approved and paid to Capital One. [redacted] informed us that we went overdraft with a negative balance of $-2,041.79.

We talked to a Capital One manager named [redacted], He said he can't do nothing to reverse the operation He said he will need five to six days to return the money to our account with [redacted] Bank.

This is a clear FRAUD, Capital One pulled out that large amount in seconds and they said will need days to reverse the transaction.

We are in serious trouble, we need to pay our Mortgage, Electric and water bills, we need to provide our food, Dr. appointment and some pending checks.

This FRAUD will affect our credit report and our credibility as honorable people as we are up to now.

Capital said they won't send no apologies no compensations for personal distress or financial damages caused.Desired Settlement: Need to restore our good credit, immediately refund the money illegally taken by Capital One Bank and pay for all financial and personal damages.

Please help.

Review: I purchased a Vehicle through Capitol One Auto Finance with the stipulations that I use there Car Dealers specified on there Web Site and two (2) other guidelines. #1 The Vehicle is a 2007 or later and #2 The Vehicle must have less then 70,000 miles. Reference #[redacted] My son and I were both named on the loan. I signed the check prior to my son leaving to Las Vegas and we were told that he could pick out a Vehicle using the above guidelines. My son found a [redacted] with less than 54,000 miles on it at one of there approved dealers and proceeded with the purchase process. I was told he was at the point of requiring proof of insurance. I purchased the insurance and had the proof of Insurance sent to my son.

My son signed the check and left with the keys in hand driving the Vehicle.

Over 12 hrs later I received an email from Capital One Auto Finance explaining I need to provide further documentation. I called them immediately to find out what was going on and they explained to me that the Vehicle my son picked out did not qualify for the loan because the Loan to Value was not 110% of the loan. I feel that the Car Dealer should have know the above conditions to include the Loan To Value and I want this loan approved as is due the fact my son has driven the vehicle off the lot and I have purchased the Insurance...Desired Settlement: I want Capital One Auto Finance complete the deal with there approved dealership and the purchase of this [redacted].

Review: I believe that Capital One is overcharging me for either the annual member-ship fees and/or imaginary transactions since last year. Back in March 2013, they may have asked me to pay between $200.00 and $290.00 for both annual membership fees and supposed transactions (which I did pay in full). Because I was forced to move to another apartment due to renova-tions, I could not find a physical billing paper including all the fees involved.

Account_Number: [redacted]Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

If you could find my online account that includes all the transactions and membership fees (I have been a regular customer in good standing since No-vember 2007), I would ask for a total refund of all unwarranted fees writ-ten by Capital One. I am getting fed up with their increasing billing re-quests.

I looked at the most recent e-mail sent by Capital One Canada. Even though some of their inquiries are legit regarding past 2013 transactions, I still have some doubts about 2014 charges. Because I have heard countless times that several credit companies have overcharged their clients, that is why I am asking you to verify their charge/hidden fees mentioned/not mentioned in my account. Finally, you have to remember that Capital One has not sent me any refunds as far as I can remember within the last 7 years. I will simply ask you to check my up-to-date account for possible refunds and other charges. Thanks in advance. So long!

Review: I opened an account that offered free interest for the first year. I got my first statement and I am being charged 29.50 interest. I did not tell them that I was satisfied with this offer. I told them that I was very unhappy with the decision because of bad advertisement. Regards,

Review: I contacted capital one almost or over a year ago to cancel the payment protection program. There is a documented notation on my account from I believe the second to last time I had to call to unlock my account in which I was given another 800 number to call to cancel it, which I did the following day because that department was closed. I have never used it my entire time as a customer for over 7 years. I had though the issue was resolve and as capital one's apr is pretty high on a normal I didn't notice it was still there until I had gotten a letter that it was going to be canceled automatically because of a business decision to term the program itself. I then reviewed my account in more detail and had found they had not canceled so I called that number a second time and they told me since they had no record of the 1st call they couldn't do anything and disconnected. I called a third time and the third person had state not only were there no notes the 1st time but also no notes the second time either. This is very upsetting as I have never had an issue with capital one the entire time I've been a customer aside from occasionally getting locked out of my online account and needing to call in to unlock it. This is horrible business and not only are they profiting off of the high apr but also on a feature I've clearly have never used and wanted canceled a long time ago.My complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: I request that Capital One makes this right. I've never used the feature nor did I want it for over a year and called in to cancel it probably over a year or maybe 2 ago. I'm not completely sure on the time frame but me asking for the number should be notated by a normal rep who unlock my online account I believe the second to last time. The resolution requested is either a complete refund of the pure profit they earn from the feature being on my account and never use and for the horrible customer service I've experienced from this shady department or a refund back to the exact date that I called in and specifically asked for the number in my notes back onto my card's balance.

Review: Capital one says I was late on a payment in oct 2012. I was not late, I had fraud with my checking acct and had to open a new acct. at that time my bank stopped all auto pay transactions. Capital one has removed late payments for other people that I know (brother) just from a phone call asking them to. They are telling me they don't have a way to do that. I have paid on time for my autos and credit cards for years, this is preventing my family from buying a house. The mortgage company says I need this off my credit to get loan approved. Review: My car was totaled on 3/20/15. The car involved in the accident which I previously owned was financed by Capital One Bank. I have settled with the insurance company regarding the payoff of my car; however, the insurance company continues to tell me that Capital One Bank has a tax lien against them which was issued by the IRS. As a result of the tax lien, the insurance company is unable to pay off the balance of the car unless documentation is submitted to prove that the lien has been resolved. The claims adjuster I have kept in contact with stated that she has been in contact with [redacted], Capital One Bank auto claims manager ( phone number #: [redacted]) regarding the matter. She stated that Mr. [redacted] has provided verbal confirmation that the lien has been lifted but he has not provided documentation of the resolution which was requested by the insurance company. This documentation has been needed since April 23rd. I called Mr. [redacted] today and left a message. My call has not been returned. As a result of his failure to provide the appropriate documentation over the last 30 days, I am continuing to make payments on a car that is no longer in my possession. Thus far I have made two payments totaling $761.78 and as long as the documentation is not sent over to the insurance company I am responsible for making the payments so that my credit history is not at jeopardy.Complaint concerns: an Auto LoanDesired Settlement: I would like for Mr. [redacted] to submit official documentation to [redacted] at [redacted] ([redacted]) stating that Capital One Bank no longer has an IRS tax lien. Review: My name is [redacted] and I've been trying for 3 weeks to fix my online access issue with Capital One. I've spent well over 3 hours of my life on the phone with multiple representatives all of which promised to fix the problem and contact me within 72 hours. To date no one has called me back. Prior to writing this review I tried to call in again and was on hold for approximately five minutes before the system hung up on me. I cannot get in on my phone or through a computer to access my transactions or pay my bill. I'm completely locked out of the system and no one seems to be able to fix it. At this time I'm really tired of messing with it. Review: I disputed 2 charges on my credit card, capital one refunded the money, then the company I disputed refunded the money, capital one then took back their refunded money since the disputed company did their part. Disputed company says I owe them money since I was refunded twice. I called in November 2014 to ask for a letter of proof of transaction history, they said they would mail a letter. Called 5 times in January 2015 requesting same info, every time I'm promised a letter with the info requested by fax and by mail, and every time nothing is faxed or mailed to me. The dispute company is sending me to collections because of this issue which is not my fault. This is beyond ridiculous, this company need to send the document with the proof I was not refunded twice.Complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: I want documentation of the dispute charges and transactions from July 2014 proving that capital one took back the refunded money they had put on my credit card after disputed company paid for the 2 returned items to [redacted].
