The used car inspection service is very misleading. I was referred to them after doing a CarFax report. I saw the offer for a 155 point check. Then, I got an email saying

"We wanted to remind you that CARCHEX offers visual inspection it is not mechanical. If you have already seen this vehicle or taken it for a road test that is all that our inspector would be doing. Our inspections are more for customers looking to purchase a car out of state to verify the vehicle exists."

Then, I began the process of cancelling the "inspection." First, I tried their online chat... I was the first person in line, and waited 15 minutes before someone got to me. Then, after waiting another 15 minutes (talk about slow chat), I finally got the number to call for a refund. They gave me the wrong number.

So, I emailed carchex and got the refund.

Save your time and money and go elsewhere. This is the epitome of poor customer service.

Terrible experience. Ripped off. Fraudulent company. CarChex Claims to have great customer service, but being polite on the phone doesn't make up for selling fake auto warranties. We purchased a car warranty for my mother (on a very limited budget) to help ease the burden of potential break down's shortly after her dealer warranty expired. The car is in perfect running condition and has been serviced regularly since being purchased new in 2005. We were told at the time of purchase that the extended warranty would take effect after 90 days and that all claims filed after that time would be paid since we purchased the bumper to bumper policy which covers everything. A month after the initial 90 day period was up and over $450 in premiums were paid, we needed a very minor repair of a very common coolant system problem ($212 repair). Carchex denied the claim and stated that it was the parent company's decision. Royal Administration. Carchex probably assumed that I wouldn't call RA, but I did. They told me that the decision to deny the claim was to be made by Carchex, typical fraudulent run around. I had reservations about signing up with a compay like carchex after reading some of the terrible reviews but was conned into the warranty with a strong sales pitch and misleading information. I'm actually glad that the claim was denied for such a small amount and we were able to realize the mistake we had made before wasting any more of her limited funds. I hope this complaint and my upcoming social media complaints will save others from being taken advantage of by CARCHEX. Thank you.

Had been searching for additional coverage and had so many conflicting scenarios. Went on internet, found your Cache listing, and contacted you on internet. Received a call immediately. Very pleased with sales person.

I was very happy with the service that I received. Very informative and professional.

BUYERS BEWARE - I have experienced the same frustrations as others who filed complaints...

While making their Sales Pitch, Carchex implies that their contract is similar to Manufacturers Warranty - Titanium Coverage is "Bumper to Bumper". When one takes their vehicle to the repair facility and tries to make a claim, Carchex involves their "Inspector" who informs the repair facility to completely disassemble the "failed" item (check engine light for a turbo charger problem in my case) to determine the root cause of failure. Once the item is disassembled, they will look any sign of sludge, dirt, carbon build-up, etc. to deny the claim. One will then have a completely disassembled unit which you will have to pay out of pocket to replace plus the cost of the tear down. In my case, the GM factory warranty would have replaced my turbo charger soley based on the engine code (no other diagnostic required); yet, with Carchex, the costs were to be: tear down charges (so Carchex Inspector can study all parts to find reason to deny) + parts + labor.

Tonight (Friday night 8 PM), I was trying to cancel my "warranty"... I called the number in the original 'Welcome, Thank you for your purchase' email and I immediately reached a company representative. Sadly, he informed me that he was in Sales and help me cancel or tell me how to cancel my contract . He told me [to] "check your Welcome Packet" and hung-up on me. When I tried to reach Cust. Svc via another phone number, I transitioned through all of the phone promts only to find that Cust Svc works Mon - Fri 8 AM to 5 PM.

Hmmm, Sales Team is always available to sign you up but Cust Svc has limited business hours. That pretty much sums-up the company's' focus doesn't it?

Unless you can find someone posting about how Carchex met (nevermind exceeded) their expectations, I suggest you put your $150+/mo into a savings account dedicated to vehicle maintenance or put it toward your new ride with a REAL "Factory Warranty".

You've been warned....

The Carchex person was very thorough and did not rush through anything. If I asked a question, he was well informed to give me an answer that met my expectations.

The representative that I worked with was very helpful and explained the policy in detail. I had checked other policies and this one beat all the others.

I was originally apprehensive about the service, but after speaking with the rep (Alesha I believe), I feel a bit more confident with the service that CC offers. This is my first time purchasing aftermarket warranty but so far everything seems to be on the up&up.

Time will only tell how good or bad this service is but, Revdex.com rating does put my mind at ease enough to allow me to move forward.

Leon was knowledgable on asking questions. I have not yet submit a claim but will review my score after my first claim is submitted.

It seems like a great company. The agent was helpful, patient, and informative, though I did find one thing curious. During my initial inquiry, I asked if I could cancel at any time and was told yes. Later, when I was actually signing up, I was told there'd be a $50 fee if I cancelled after 30'days. That may have been just a misunderstanding though. I signed up anyway.

Not worth it AT ALL. This is a scam and they give you hard time when calling customer service or file a claim. They are just good at selling their products. I will NEVER make this mistake again.

My rep Dan was very helpful and very understanding with my needs of my new car. Very friendly and held a very professional conversation. So my experience has just began and I will definitely keep in touch with further information about my experince

Exerlent customer service

A+ plus experience. Representative was very informative and answered all questions. Highly recommended.

I am still not sure about your product and the product I already purchased through my Ford dealer. Yours cost $3100 and the dealers $1700 but yours covers all TSB's according to your underwriter and the dealer doesn't if that is what I am led to believe. I will bring your product to my dealer and have him explain the difference. In either case the rep made a commission and you received interest on my money, if I decide to return your product.
I hope I can return it.

I was very pleased with the service that I received from David. I would recommend any one to get this service. Thank you so much Miss [redacted]
