To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is in response to the correspondence we received from your office on December 8, Thank you for the opportunity to address Mrs*** ***’s concerns regarding the delay in receiving medication
Upon review of Mrs***’s concerns we were able to confirm that there was no delay with shipping her order. On December 2, Mrs***’s order was shipped for delivery by December 3, to her local CVS retail pharmacy. On December 7, Mr*** contacted our specialty customer care, and was informed that the order was delivered on December 3, as expectedOur records do not indicate that there were any delays nor do we show any documentation stating that there were any issues with Mrs***’s order. In an effort to assure Mrs***’s package did arrive, our specialty pharmacy contacted the CVS retail location and verified the package was delivered
We sincerely apologize for any frustration or inconvenience that Mrs*** experiencedWe value Mrs*** as a member and we are confident that future service will consistently reflect our commitment to our purpose, “helping people on their path to better health.” Should you or Mrs*** have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at ***. My office hours are Monday thru Friday from 9:a.muntil 5:p.mCentral Standard Time

I have been forced to go through CVS Caremark ny my employers insurance company for the past yrsI am a Type Diabetic and have required insulin injections since I was five yrs oldWithout these injections, I will dieUnfortunately, the monopoly that is CVS Caremark doesnt seem to understand this, the difference between Type & Type Diabetes, or even careI can not get anyone to help me in customer service, management, or the pharmacist emplyed by Caremark
Since last week, I have spoken to them four times regarding the need for them to ship my insulinThe first custmoer service rep told me that payment of $was required before shipment can be made, which I paidI then asked her to have it expedited immediately, as I have been without it for a month because their anticsShe told me the quickest it would be delivered was the next TuesdayI spoke with her on Thursday
On Monday, I received numerous calls from Caremark regarding my orderWhen I called them back
Prescriptions were ordered on 2/20/16, payment processed on customer end on 2/27/The prescriptions were sent to an old address, shipment denied by the new occupants, shipment returned via ***, and shipment was delivered to CVS on 3/2/at 9:a.m
The prescriptions have not been received by us/customerMultiple phone calls have been made to CVS CaremarkThere has been no resolution On 2/29/I was told the prescriptions were reshipping on 3/1/for overnight delivery and they did notOn 3/2/I was told they were reshipping for overnight delivery and they did not I then received a voice mail on 3/3/at approximately 2:p.mthat the prescription for *** was denied due to the item had already been shipped and there was delivery confirmationThen while I was on the phone with another CVS Caremark representative I received another voice mail at approximately 3:p.mthat the prescriptions were being sent out overnightThat voice mail said that ther
1-12-placed order for day prescription from which my Doctor wrote for a day supply CVS Caremark erroneously charged me $for the day supply citing they were restricted from filling the whole prescription for days 1/14/2016, after several lengthy attempts to resolve this matter with Call Center reps; ***, *** *** *** and continuously placed on unreasonably extended hold and finally forwarded to: "***" (Senior Clinic Advisor), and supervisors, "***," "***" (terrible disposition), and "***" who informed me because of the discrepancy, ** *** would be given a one time bulk up credit for $dollars and to keep the day prescription These supervisors informed me I would not be billed for the prescription 1/15/16, *** ***l left a voice mail stating what these supervisors told me earlier about the bulk of credit which I saved on my cell for documentation to support my voice records, date & time I did not receive a day s
My physicians office placed an order for my prescription and I was told CVS Caremark would have to fill the prescription and they would call to schedule delivery This was the first week of April 2016/ My appointment was for the 15thI never rec'd a call so I ended up calling the 12th to ensure my prescription would be delivered on time for my dr apptWhen speaking with the rep they told me the delivery date would be the 14th so I would make my Friday (15th) appointmentCome Friday the prescription never arrived I called and was placed on hold at least times for over ten minutes each time and the reps did not come back on the lineFinally a rep did not put me on hold and told me that there were not any notes as to why they did not ship the medication it just simply didn't shipAlso, that it was noted to ship that morning and I would have SaturdaySo I completely missed my appointment and there was no reason as to whyI took off the morning for this specifically and had bee
I am writing to you as I do not know what other option to take hoping that you can assist me
A few months ago I tried to use my benefits at CVS to buy some speciality medications and it was just too expensive for me to affordI found another pharmacy that could fill the prescription at half the cost which would save me about dollars
I went ahead and requested for an override which was offered to me but due to finances not being enough I went ahead and put that on holdI have tried to call again to get the override activated and I have now been advised that I can no longer utilize that money unless I wanted to just go ahead and pay out of pocket
My questions were not really answered because from what I understand my benefits have not changed so I should be able to utilize the overrideMust I also mention that it is such a pain to be on calls for hours during the naïf stressful time for a patient trying to get medications instead of this being a painless process

While I highly doubt that this will go any further, I want Caremark to know that the process by which they approve or deny medication is not only poor but in some cases potentially dangerous. I believe that Caremark should be required to make it a business practice to alert any insured of these requirements. Caremark never contacted me during this episode, I had to repeatedly call them to ask for a status. My doctor sent in urgent requests alerting Caremark to my past history of suicide attempts due to severe depression and included the history of taking the generic version and it not working to relieve my symptoms. Caremark does not give any of that consideration and so someone sitting in an office somewhere just denied it without any explanation to me, putting me in a near incapacitated state for almost a week! (Note: I received a letter a week later after I submitted this complaint). Exactly what could the benefit be, to a company the size of Caremark, to require a patient on a specific medication to fill their prescription with a generic before they can get the medication that they need? They literally approved the appeal 2-days after I accepted the genericI don't see the sense in that. Given the size of Caremark, I doubt that anyone there will give this a second lookI just hope their current practice doesn't result in more severe harm to anyone else
