SCAM
After having a policy for several months on a classic vehicle, I called in with a problem and was told it was covered. I took it to a very well-known ASE mechanic group. They wound up not paying me after I paid the bill. The money they spend on advertising is ridiculous. But they do not back it up. Please run the other way. I am not a disgruntled person I’m an intelligent person who put trust in something that is a scam. Actors don’t advertise for a company that is not trustworthy. Don’t compromise your reputation.

It's a ripoff
They work harder on your claim then paying it. Twice I turned in claims and both times I ended up pay the bulk of the bill. The first was $3200 and I paid $2200 of it, and the most recent was $2186 and car shield paid $285. For what I pay in monthly payments, I could have paid and saved money. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

CarShield warranty - not a warranty at all
In September I purchased an extended warranty with CarShield, later in the year my bmw would not crank. The closest repair shop for bmw was 56 Miles from my home. I had to pay the towing upfront and CarShield would reimburse me. Every week I was calling the repair shop and CarShield would not communicate with them about getting the claim started. I kept getting the run around about the claim examinor and the inspector. After to speak to the claims guy that checked out my car 3 months later I was good to go then after the next claims examiner looked at car he stated that it was my fault that I didn’t have enough documentation from oil changes and denied my claim. My car was just purchased in July! It wasn’t possible for me to have months and months of service receipts because I hadn’t had the car long. I kept asking for a rental and was told I could not get one until this person started my claim. I have 3 small children, 2 of them are in school, which this left me rideless. Then I received a letter in the mail and a check for $199.09 stating that per my request the contract was canceled and I was given a refund. I never requested any of this. I only wanted what I was paying for for nearly 5 months of $99 payments. I can’t understand why a company does this people who can’t afford to go and pay thousands of dollars in repairs and not to mention this left me in a bad situation with my children and no transportation during a pandemic!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this issue.We contacted Interstate National Dealer Services, the administrator of your service contract, to obtain information about any claims you have submittedINDS stated that claims have been submittedThe first claim was submitted in August of for a wheel bearing that was worn and making a lot of noiseWheel bearings are not listed as a covered component, so the claim was denied by INDS.The second claim was submitted in January of for worn serpentine belt, a leaking valve cover gasket and a leaking oil pan gasket The serpentine belt was covered and paid for minus the deductible of $ The valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket are not listed as covered under this contract and replacement cost was denied by INDS because of that.We have received your request to cancel your coverage Yourservice contract will be cancelled as you requested and you will be issued a prorated refund, as stated in your contract's terms and conditions We have waived the cancellation fee as a gesture of goodwill Your refund comes to You should receive your refund within business day.Respectfully,Customer Relations

Our sales representative replied, "not the electrical system, but it does cover......" and he went on to list the covered components, reading right from the contract.The suspension is not covered under the Powertrain Gold Coverage Mr [redacted] purchased for his Hummer with starting mileage at the time of the contract purchase of 143, The sales rep never stated the suspension was covered, as he read the covered components directly from the contract.The waiting period referenced in the sales call of miles and days is also listed in the contact Mr [redacted] received When Mr [redacted] 's repair facility submitted the claim referenced in this complaint, Mr [redacted] was still within the mile and day period and the repair claim was not approved.We have received a letter from Mr [redacted] requesting cancellation of both of the service contracts he purchased from us on July 31, Both contracts have been cancelled as he requested On August 4, two refund checks were mailed to Mr [redacted] at the address listed in this complaint One in the amount of $for the contract on the Mercedes and one in the amount of $for the contract on the HummerThe service contract was correctly adjudicated by American Auto Shield (the administrator/obligor of the contract) and Mr [redacted] has been refunded, per the contracts terms and conditions, correctly

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:When my parents realized that Car Shield was taking money from their account back in September, they called Car Shield When my mother spoke to them, the person she spoke with told her that they did not see a call from my mother on December 29th, they said that the only call they saw was when they called my parents Now in their response to the Revdex.com they are saying that they did not call my parents on December 29th They did call my parents that day and my mother did call them back and was told that they would cancel the contract and that if there was anything else they could do for my parents then my parents should give them a call Sounds like someone needs to get their stories straight.Why on earth would my parents buy a car warranty when they had one with their brand new Kia? They thought they were talking to someone from Kia and after they realized that they were not, my mother called them back and told them to cancel it They owe my parents the full amount that they wrongly took from their account and no less When people like my parents are on a fixed income and are taken advantage of, it really makes me mad They cannot afford to be scammed like this We want the full amount returned to my parents Sincerely, [redacted]
