Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Sincerely, [redacted] ***

We appreciate you bringing your concern to our attention We are looking forward to resolving this matter in a satisfactory manner. There is no way our company can determine if you have previously purchased an extended service contract for your vehicle We have removed you from our mailing list, as you have requested.Thank you

The Customer ID that was put in the last notice I received (CarShield, [redacted] ***, StPeters, MO 63376))is [redacted] I originally received a letter in AZ from this business around telling me my car insurance coverage had expired Not understanding the letter, I called the number on the letter I felt extremely aggressive and intrusive questioning by the person with whom I spoke I wish I could tell you his name I called my religious community and they told me we had never had any coverage from that company I ask that they stop sending me these notices I moved to two other states after that--and their notices have kept coming to my new addresses This feels very creepy--and I want these notices to stop coming to me Thank you [redacted]

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/06/24) */ The mailed advertisements that are sent on our behalf state, "Auto Service Agency is an independent nationwide company marketing vehicle service contracts on behalf of leading third party administrators"These administrators are all Revdex.com Accredited and A+ ratedThe mailer also states, "Auto Service Agency is not affiliated with any auto dealer or manufacturer" The mailed advertisements also states, "This letter is to inform you that if your factory warranty has expired, you will be responsible for paying for any repairsYou have the OPTION to protect your vehicle beyond the factory warranty." Mr [redacted] read the advertisement and then knew it was an add for an extended warrantyIf the mailer is read, it is clear what it is offering If you can provide us with the ID number listed on the mailer Mr [redacted] received (I do not see any attachments, as he mentioned, that might have that ID number listed), we would be happy to remove him from our mailing list Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 12, 2015/06/29) */ ***Document Attached [redacted] Hello, I'm attaching the documents so that everyone can see how sneaky your company's mailers are Please answer these questions: Why do you not state your company's name on the front of the mailer? You state in your response that it is optional insuranceSo why do you write in big capital letters "PLEASE CALL IMMEDIATELY"? You do realize that this is needlessly alarming people Look, it's obvious what you're trying to doYou're trying to dupe people into buying your extended warrantyThere is no other reason as to why you make your advertising look so official and legalYou hope that people fall into your tricks and call you to buy the insuranceThey say a sucker is born every minute and that's precisely who you are trying to take advantage of I know what you're doing is not illegalYet any reasonable person will agree that you have abusive marketing practicesThat's precisely why I started this complaintI want you to state your company's name on the front of the letterI want you to put a logo for your companyLastly, please remove those capital letters telling people to call you immediately for an optional warrantyDo not scare people into buying your product! Sincerely, [redacted] Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 14, 2015/06/30) */ Thank you for providing the ID numberWe have removed your contact information from our mailing list

Thank you for bringing this to our attention We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this matter. In July of Ms [redacted] had an air conditioning claim of $paid out for her, along with days or car rental Her most recent claim for a throttle body was denied because this is not listed as a covered component under the Powertrain Gold coverage she purchased in Aprilfor her Forenza.Ms [redacted] 's service contract is working per the contract's terms and conditions and paying for her covered repairs.RespectfullyCustomer Relations

Thank you for bringing this to our attention We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and resolve this matter. We have spoken to Mr [redacted] since this complaint was filed and have been able to assist him in resolving this matter. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.RespectfullyCustomer Relations

Thank you for forwarding us your concerns. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to and clarify this matter. The mailed advertisements sent on our behalf offer consumers the opportunity to cover their vehicle with a service contract that extends mechanical breakdown coverage well past the... consumers factory warranty. We market extended service contracts for the 3 leading administrators in the industry; American Auto Shield, United Car Care and Interstate National Dealer Services. These administrators are all A+ rated and BBB Accredited and collectively paid over 2 million dollars in repair claims for their customers, just last year alone. As you stated you were not interested in this service when you called our office, you were removed from our mailing list at that time and will receive no additional advertising from our company. We apologize for any inconvenience the receipt of our mailer has caused.

Thank you.Ms [redacted] has been removed from our mailing list.Respectfully,Consumer Relations

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
There is nothing in this response addressing the deceptive phrases on the envelope which create a sense of urgencyNeither is there any indication that CarShield will be taking steps to cease or alter their deceptive direct mail ad campaign tactics.
Sincerely,
*** ***

As stated in the sales call and listed in the American Auto Shield Powertrain Gold coverage Mr*** purchased; there is an initial mile AND day waiting period Mr*** was still within the mile portion of his waiting period when this claim was presented The waiting period is clearly disclosed in the contract and during the sales call. Also disclosed in the sales call and in the contract is the following, "You may cancel this contract within thirty days of the contract purchase date....and receive a full refund..." "You may cancel this contract at any other time and receive a pro rata refund less any paid claims and less the cancellation fee of fifty dollars"This contract has been correctly adjudicated regarding the claim denial within the mile waiting period and the cancelled contract has been correctly refunded

Thank you for bringing this to our attention Our customer service manager has been in contact with Mr*** and has resolved this matter in an amicable manner.Respectfully

Mr***'s information has been removed from our mailing list, as requested

We appreciate the opportunity to respond to your inquiry. You spoke with our representative, ***, on December 4, regarding your purchase of the *** *** *** ***. She explained in quite a bit of detail how this minimally priced negotiation service worked to help you save money on repairs. The *** *** *** includes repair negotiations and roadside assistance and towing. This service can be used right away to put an experienced adjuster on your side to speak with your repair facility and make sure they are not overcharging you for parts and labor. This service does NOT pay for your repairs. *** explained this fact to you several times during the call on December 4th. You said you understood. *** said, "this doesn't pay for your repairs, it will not cover them for you, but rather will negotiate the best price to save you money". The *** *** *** adjusters negotiate the price of your repair with the repair shop, and then you pay that price

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/09/29) */

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 14, 2015/10/23) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The business harassed me via phone for weeks until I phoned an individual and told them I had contacted the Revdex.com and would take it to the Attorney General if necessaryPhone calls stopped that day!

The number on caller ID was a spoofed local numberI answered and was greeted by an automated voice asking questions about my vehicleI followed the prompts and once a live person got on the call I asked from what company they were callingThey refused to answer and continued with their sales pitchI continued to ask for the company name and they continued to ignore me and proceed with their sales pitchAs soon as I asked if they were calling from Carshield, they immediately hung upThis, just a few weeks after I filed a complaint because they contacted be by mail after I previously requested they never contact me againThe last complaint went unresolved as they obviously had no intention of honoring my repeated requests to stop contacting me.For the record, the caller ID that was presented was ***The call was made 1/17/@ 12:25pmObviously a spoofed number.Call spoofing and robocallers are illegal and my number, the number they called, has been on the do not call registry since

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention We appreciate the opportunity to resolve this issue. There are dozens if not hundreds of marketing companies that send out mailers regarding information related to vehicle service contracts We would like to determine if the
mailer you received is indeed from our company If you could let us know the ID number that appears on the mailer you received, we would be able to verify if it was mailed on our behalf It is certainly never our intent for a mailed advertisement to be sent to a place of business unless the business owns fleet vehicles they might be interested in covering with a vehicle service contract If the mailer is from our company, we do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.Once it is determined that the mailer is one of ours, we would be happy to remove you from our mailing list

Again, CarShield does not call spoof or robocall. The calls you are receiving are not coming from CarShield. Our company has never called the number you have provided in this complaint. Our company removed you from our mailing list when you called us and requested that we do that. We consider this complaint as resolved, as we have never called the number provided in this complaint. The calls you are receiving are from another marketing company
