Dear Ms. [redacted]
I am in receipt of your letter forwarding Ms. [redacted] complaint.  By way of background, on November 12, 2015, Ms. [redacted] pawned a number of pieces of jewelry at our Cash America Pawn of Houston #70 under Ticket No. [redacted]  The last day of grace on this loan was January 13,...

2016.  Ms. [redacted] failed to make any payments on this loan and as a result, on the morning of January 14, 2016 ownership of this jewelry transferred to Cash America by operation of law. Therefore, the loan was pulled and placed into Cash America's inventory.  Later that day, Ms. [redacted] came into the shop to pay on her loan.  At that time, the shop manager informed her that her loan had been pulled due to non-payment.  However, it was still available if she was interested in purchasing it.  As an act of goodwill and in keeping with Cash America's goal to provide outstanding customer service, the shop sold the jewelry back to Ms. [redacted] for the principal amount of the loan and one month's interest, even though she owed two months interest on her loan.  Ms. [redacted] was treated respectfully and no one in the shop was rude to her even though she was being extremely loud and disturbing other customers.
It is always Cash America's goal to provide outstanding customer service including satisfactory resolution to complaints. It is Cash America's position that it has already addressed and resolved Ms. [redacted]'s concerns regarding this loan.  Furthermore, all actions taken by Cash America were within the law and in accordance with the pawn contract.
If you have any questions or need any further information, please let me know.
Sincerely, [redacted] Field Legal Support Manager, Cash America International, Inc.

I am in receipt of your letter forwarding Mr. [redacted] complaint.  Federal Firearm law requires that a Form 4473 and background check be completed for each firearm transaction.  The check is on the person to ensure that a firearm is not being sold to a prohibited person, not the firearm...

itself. Since Mr. Young returned the next day to purchase additional firearms and that was a separate transaction than the day before, the law required the customer to complete the 4473 and background check for this transaction.   If you have any questions or need any further information, please let me know.   Sincerely,   [redacted] Field Legal Support Manager Cash America International, Inc.
