Sad management
Been a member since this location opened and have watched the recent lapse
of customer service and customer care. Tonight was the topper! I would
think that the personal safety and care of your guest mattered but it
appears to your team there it does not. My husband reported a very
uncomfortable situation with another member taking videos in the mens
restroom urinal area to front desk. When he talked to the manager Mary she
was not concerned made no effort to have investigated and blew him off.

Is Chuze Fitness Worth It?
There’s no shortage of gyms and health clubs through the southwestern states of the USA.

Finding ones that are welcoming, friendly, and affordable, however, is a completely different story.

Over the last decade, Chuze Fitness has built a reputation for providing the sort of environment that people can’t find elsewhere.

Cancellation free
I am annoyed the water at the San Diego location has been shut off for over a month! I use the showers when I workout there because it is close to my school/work. They also have failed to update us when the water was off or back on and I would always walk into the gym to see a sign on the door, no other notification. When I tried to cancel she said I am in a 1 yr contract and would have to pay a $50 cancel me. Or I could freeze my account "even though the water will be back on soon" (still no date). I would like to just cancel and have the $50 free waived asap!

Treatment of members
OUR gym, RIALTO CHUZE FITNESS, the one that we pay monthly payments to in the amount of $30, has treated us as though we were cattle or adolescent children. There is a problem with us forming a line outside the class room for Zumba. One day they tell us that we can, and the next day they tell us we can't. The last we heard, we were able to line up, so one of my friends, lines up (78 year old Hispanic woman who does not speak English). They tell her that she is not allowed to line up and they then punish her and humiliate her by taking the people at the end of the line first and let her enter the class last. How is that fair? How is that treating a person with respect and humility!? IT'S NOT! They treated her as though she had done something wrong, as though she was unimportant or that they were above her. She told me that she had never felt so humiliated in her life. This was in front of all the Chuze Fitness Members. Members felt bad for her and told her she could stand in the front because what they had done to her was so unfair. I guess you can consider this as elder abuse or abuse of power by your staff member. If you want these members to cancel their memberships, you are doing an EXCELLENT job! I have many friends ready to close out their memberships because of this and other inadequate conduct from the staff. The Chuze Management need to get their policies in order and speak with their staff about respect and protocol. Chuze says we are to respect one another in the gym, but that needs to go for the staff as well! I am very upset with the treatment of my friend who never has any problems with anyone and is well liked. If management cares to take action and look into this incident, it would be much appreciated, otherwise you stand to lose several members because of this action, which occurred on Monday morning between the hours of 8-9 am. There is a video, so please take the time to watch it. If nothing comes of this post, we, all 22 of us members, will be canceling our membership.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I don’t even know where to start with, I had canceled my membership mid-late 2018, I noticed months months later, That I’m still getting charged, I don’t get paper statements, so I reached out to them, they couldn’t help me over the phone? Like really, I had to go in personally and I had to go to the one I originally opened up my membership, I was like I moved, I don’t lived close by.
I emailed the manager couple times, and nothing!
Over $600... and they don’t care!

Revdex.com: The response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] is satisfactory for me personally (they canceled the year-long installment agreement and my club membership)However, I was disappointed to learn they are going to annual contracts for all premium membershipsTheir month to month agreements were one of the things that set them apart from other clubs and made me choose them in the first placeThey also did not address the advertising issue on the website - the tiny greyed out print at the bottom of the page which I didn't see telling me I was signing up for installments without my knowledge in the first place (the club manager who contacted me has no control over this aspect) This struck me as deceptive advertising - at least for me, as I had previously been a premium month to month member and had no easy way to know their policies had changed Regards, [redacted]

I am a loyal gym member. I even brought in my Son to be a member and was planning to get another of my son membership. But today Dec. 23, 2019 I brought my son to work out, they told me I can’t bring any guest on regular days. I asked for a one time courtesy since it’s holiday BUT to my dismay they denied my request, they asked me to go to Cypress but I did not want to go because this gym located on Beach Blvd. is very close to me. Still they denied my one time request in the spirit of Christmas. They told me I have been warned before. Regardless, the gym was not full and like I said it’s holiday just for this day and still they denied my special request, I was ready to workout, my son was with me and now I am sitting here inside my car writing this review. I told them I will cancel my membership and also I will ask my son to cancel his membership as well and the supervisor said ok good bye. The gym I was talking about is ChuzeFitness located at Beach Blvd. Buena Park.

I was a happy member of Chuze gym for over two yearsAs a member I probably went to the gym twice a day every day, CHUZE in Carlsbad was like a second home to meSince I'm not from the area I was looking to make friends and I found the gym to be a great place for that My experience as a member was fantastic, until I had to move for work recently so I packed up my things and moved During the move I was so busy that I stopped going to the gym I left town and called to explain what happenedThe rep in Carlsbad said I would have to come in in person to cancel, or send a faxA week later I sent a fax with all of the information she requested, including a note I wanted to write for a few of the staff who I especially wanted to thankI even joked with my friend that day that I canceled my gym membership, but it felt like a breakup ;)I was truly bummed to not be a member anymoreI loved CHUZEI loved working out thereI was very surprised to recently find a past due notice in my inboxChuze was still withdrawing payment on my account and my debit card had recently expiredI called to fix the issueThey said there's nothing they can doIn fact, in a very annoying manner they repeatedly kept telling me how there is nothing they can doFinally the manager said he can cancel my membership but it would go into effect now and he would not be able to backdate it to when I sent the fax because he said they never received a fax I told him it was a few months ago but I definitely sent the fax I even attached a note under my drivers license picture I sent him a copy of my phone records to show him the phone call that I made back in August to chuze gym I told him I also have the statement on my credit card showing the $fax payment from staples in my new city but that I am having trouble finding my actual paper receipt I sent him a letter with my agreement number reason for leaving and everything, specifically requesting they backdate my cancellationI canceled August 24th (sent fax)Today is November 16thIn return, all I got was a business email saying they canceled my membership effective immediatelyI had asked what steps I can take to backdate this, because I know this was not my errorI am typically detailed with these things and as a former member of the CHUZE family I particularly found it insulting that I did not even receive a phone call backIt was as if the manager ignored the entire body of my email, and subjectNow I am not surprised they lost my fax because they did not even address my questions/concernsI know it's mostly year old kids behind the desk but I don't think this is a problem of maturity, it is that they don't have the best interest of the gym at heartI would have gone above and beyond to contact a member who has concerns over her membership statusThe company culture at Chuze has always struck me as a family oneI literally remember thanking the owner one day at Soup Plantation when I saw him climb out of his yellow HummerI said, I love your gym sir! For this to happen now is such a sad endingI feel screwed over and it is really making me feel like I'm being hustled for a few months more of payment where I didn't even attend the gym because I had already moved awayI sent my new address with lease confirmation and everythingAgain, not even one ounce of regard for my backdate requestAnother example of how this is a matter of principle and ethics, but in this day and age people rarely understand what that means anymoreNo one has any credibility and businesses want quantity not qualitySo sadSo very sad about this

That’s horrible, and I’m going thru the same thing, I cancel my account 2 years AGO! and I’m horrible about checking my statement online. Until I noticed about a year ago, and they couldn’t help me thru the phone, they said I had to go in person to the fitness I originally open my membership, but I told them I moved so until this date I’m getting charged.
They have no corporate numbers?
Teenager / young kids answering phone calls I emailed ChuzeFitness manager, they have very poor customer service

Revdex.com: I received a phone call from [redacted] at Chuze Fitness in response to my complaint While she was very friendly and overly courteous, she still held that their annual fee was not refundable and that they try to be very up front about their policies In regards to the no-commitment issue that I have with them, there really wasn't much said, other than that customers can cancel anytime with a day notice The issue of the annual fee up front being a commitment was not resolved After speaking with her about this, she said she would call someone else to see what she could do about the annual fee for me, but again reiterated that it was not normally refundable She called me back shortly afterwards and said that she was able to get half of the fee waived ($20) and that she could offer me one month free at the gym I accepted the refund, but not the month free offer I reiterated that it was the principle of the non-commitment annual fee that I was upset about Especially since I wasn't going to be utilizing their services/facilities for the upcoming year that I was charged for, but nonetheless I didn't want to have three more phone calls with Chuze I just wanted to get it over and done with Thank you for your help I just hope others are aware of this annual fee that is automatically charged (without warning or notification) and are sure to cancel well in advance of that fee being charged Regards, [redacted] ***

That's some BS! I was told that we are not allowed to put our memberships on hold, UNLESS we were military or had a medical note from our doctor. How unfair! I'm so sorry that you were purposely misinformed!

Signed up for a 10$ a month membership and explained that I just wanted to try it out for a couple months to see if I'd like itWas told that if I canceled at least days before my "aniversery" date that I would NOT be charged the 40$ annual feeCalled tonight which is a month before my aniversery date and was told I was signed up for a year member and would there would be a 50$ fee for cancelingI felt that my intentions were understood and did not feel that I needed to read the fine print before signing upGoing in on Monday to speak with the managerEven explain I had seen reviews online of others having the same problem was assured that this would NOT be the case

Overall a decent facility in San Diego for the price of $per month I wouldn't pay a penny over $though I was new to the area and wanted a cheap gym that was hopefully not a breading ground for meat heads Last night at the Mission Valley location, an old dude who seemed to be a David Hasselhoff impersonator tried to fight me over a weight bench None of the staff members either noticed or cared to resolve the situation, so that will be the end of my gym membership at Chuze Fitness Keep the Peace America

Craycroft / Grant Great but I HATE the animal killing in 2 screens in hydromassage. Not relaxing. People complain and they say they’ve changed it but always same. Baby bunnies eaten alive, birds, monkeys heads but off. On and on. HOW are we supposed to RELAX. HATE this
