On 7/16/2015 a technician traveled to the service address to check for any gas leaks, verify the reading and meter number, and make sure the meter was working...

properly.  It was determined that there were no gas leak and the meter was functioning properly.  It was also determined that we had the correct reading and meter number.  On 7/20/2015 we were successful in speaking with [redacted] and explained our findings in detail.  We also explained that the technician stated that possibly the water heater servicing her address was also servicing the 3 other addresses in the building.  We advised her to speak with her landlord.
Based on the information provided, no adjustments are warranted.  Thank you for the opportunity to address [redacted]'s concerns.
Respectfully,

Regards,
The response does not  reflect the sequence of events.. Super bowl Sunday a Center Point rep rang door bell at [ [redacted]] and ask me ( Mr. [redacted]) if there was a problem.. I had just arrived home and responded I don't think so. The rep said he had gotten an  auto alert of a problem. The rep explained that was a cell device on the meter that alerts Center Point of any issues...he needed to check system ..later returned to explain what he found.. he said apparently [redacted] was working in the area and damaged some lead lines in several homes in the area. He said we were only getting 50 percent power to the home.. and I needed to do some home work to disconnect all chipped devices as they could be damaged..he said my neighbors were in dispute with [redacted] about the damage lead lines..stated the underground cable would need to be replaced by an electrician ,  ask if I had any questions and left..

This response is in reference to complaint number: 10842308.
Please be advised that we have investigated the complaint regarding the service address of: [redacted] Houston, TX.
The customer submitted a complaint that they went the entire weekend without gas service due to a...

CenterPoint Energy (CNP) error. Upon receiving the complaint, we contacted the local district office for the service address. According to our company records and district office management, the service was restored of Friday 10/02/2015. In an extra effort to resolve the complaint, the district office contacted Mr. [redacted] on 10/09/2015 and asked when the natural gas service was restored. Mr. [redacted] confirmed that the service was restored on Friday night – 10/02/2015.
With this information, we find that the customer’s complaint that CNP left him without gas service over the weekend is invalid. Because the natural gas service was rightly disconnected for non-payment and subsequently all reconnection fees apply, we will not refund any amount to the customer for this complaint.
If there are any further questions regarding this complaint, kindly contact Customer Service at 1-800-752-8036.
Respectfully,

This is in response to Revdex.com complaint# [redacted] submitted by Ms. [redacted] regarding the premise at [redacted]

After thorough review of our records, we were able to determine that Ms. [redacted] spoke to a Supervisor on 07/08/15. An apology was immediately extended...

for the amount of time it has taken to receive a response that Ms.  [redacted] presented in reference to her December 2014, billing. The billing and invoices from December 2014 to current were explained in detail. The customer was assured that the disconnection of service did not have any association with the December 2014 billing.

Ms. [redacted] was advised that an invoice was sent online on 06/22/15, for $144.00.This amount included a disconnect notice for $97.00 with a final payment date of 07/02/15, plus the current bill of $47.00 due 07/07/15. In addition, the disconnect notice was also mailed to the customer at the above service address.  It was explained to Ms. [redacted] that the disconnection of service was a result of a balance forward of $48.00 from her April 2015 invoice, and a $49.00 balance forward from her May 2015 invoice for a total of $97.00. On 07/05/15, payment was received for $50.00 leaving an unpaid balance of $47.00. Regrettably, this amount remained unpaid and on 07/07/07/15 the gas service was disconnected for non-payment. The customer was quoted $192.40 to reconnect service. This included a $47.00 past due amount, a $20.00 collection fee, a $40.40 reconnect fee and an $85.00 deposit.

Based on our findings CenterPoint Energy was not negligent in disconnecting Ms. [redacted]’s gas service. We were unsuccessful in our attempts to contact Ms. [redacted]. We regret we are unable to waive the reconnect fees as they are warranted and do apply. Additionally, a supervisor informed Ms. [redacted] that we regret we would be unable to waive the $20.00 collection fee and $40.40 reconnect fee and the customer accepted the reconnect quote of $107.40. This amount included a $47.00 past due amount, a $20.00 collection fee, and a $40.40 reconnect fee. However, in consideration of Ms. [redacted], CenterPoint Energy agreed to waive the $85.00 deposit. In which the deposit is the greater amount. Normally, this fee would have been required to be paid prior to restoring service. The reconnect order was executed on 07/09/15, and gas service was restored.

We sincerely regret any inconvenience Ms. [redacted] may have undergone as a result of this matter. We appreciate her for making her concerns known to us and we look forward to serving her better in the future.
Respectfully, Natalie E[redacted]CenterPoint Energy

Thank you for your patience in our response regarding Revdex.com Complaint # [redacted] for [redacted] located at the address of [redacted] ST., in Houston, TX.
CenterPoint Energy spoke with Ms. [redacted] on 9/18/2015 to acknowledge receipt of her complaint.  She advised us that during the...

storm some tree limbs were trimmed at a nearby neighbor’s residence and left on her property.
Our CenterPoint Energy Tree Trimming crew traveled to the subject address and advised Ms. [redacted] of our tree trimming policy in detail:  “Property owners, not CenterPoint Energy, are responsible for clearing tree debris resulting from emergency tree trimming for service restoration caused by fallen /broken trees, following routine inclement weather, or in the immediate aftermath of a major storm or other natural disaster”.
Please note on 9/21/2015 CenterPoint Energy picked up the tree debris as a onetime courtesy. We also referred Ms. [redacted] to our website for situations when tree limbs and debris will not be hauled away; www.CenterPointEnergy.com/trees.
We thank Ms. [redacted] for the opportunity to address her concerns; and if we can be of any further assistance please contact us.
Thank you,

mentioned above and reconnected the natural gas service at 2:34PM.  The tech noted on the service order notes:“Shut In test  - Good. Reading – [redacted] No Leaks. Painted [Meter] Loop. 1 Water Heater – LIT Nobs. 2 Mins. Good Vent. 2 Furnace – Good Cycle. 1 Stove – Good.”Please be advised that CNP techs are not responsible for servicing natural gas appliances, as determined by the Rail Road Commission of Texas.  The act of lighting the appliances is done as a courtesy to our customers.  CNP techs are only responsible for making sure the natural gas is flowing at the correct pressure, safely into the home.  If the customer would like to pursue further actions for possible reimbursement, they will need to contact: CNP Claims Department directly at 888-861-0498.  Unfortunately, per this department, CNP is not at fault for this complaint.  We are also not the department that is eligible to reimburse customers for these types of complaints. Regards,There was no assessment. Sent: Wednesday, July 12, 2017 12:30 PM [...] Our records reveal we received a trouble call on 04/30/2017 at 8:18PM and reported "Lights Out".  Our records show that a crew was dispatched and were on-site from 9:48PM until 10:06PM.  Our crew concluded that the problem was with the customer's electric equipment and not CNP's equipment. Please understand since we could find nothing wrong with our equipment, we charged a $50.00 service charge per Section 6.1.4.1 of CenterPoint Energy’s Tariff for Retail Delivery. In this case, CenterPoint Energy is unable to reverse the $50.00.  The customer may want to consult with their apartment complex management to recoup the charges. This is in response to Revdex.com complaint #[redacted] submitted by [redacted] owner of [redacted].We were able to speak with Ms. [redacted] to confirm that she was the owner of the property during the time period in question for gas usage.  Ms. [redacted] confessed to using the...

gas but is unwilling to pay the customer charge because she did not request for service in her name.  It was explained that the service was already on when she took over andCenterPoint Energy set the account up in her name in order to bill for the usage.   Unfortunately, the customer charge covers the cost for reading the meters, issuing bills, maintaining facilities and gas lines, postage, etc. These costs occur even if you do not use gas during a billing period.  CenterPoint Energy has the right to set up an account in the responsible party’s name, and back bill for gas usage once it’s established who’s responsible for the gas. As a courtesy, the deposit was removed from the amount due.  Please know that after reviewing the account with the credit department, we will be unable to waive any other charges. We appreciate Ms. [redacted] for allowing us to review her concern.Regards,Angela B[redacted]CenterPoint Energy

This is in response to the complaint # [redacted] filed by [redacted] on behalf of [redacted] residing at [redacted].
We had the opportunity to speak with Mr. [redacted] and he disputed the technician never came to their location. We reached out to the technician’s...

supervisor to investigate. The investigation with the technician ended when the technician’s response was the order was attempted, the name of the Townhomes is [redacted] and no one answered the door.
Per our conversation with Mr. [redacted], it was stated that the technicians do not get paid for the orders that are not completed. Once Mr. [redacted] realized that CenterPoint Energy had already made one attempt, he rescheduled his order for the same day with the agreement to pay an overtime fee of $51.32. The order could have been rescheduled for the next day free of charge but Mr. [redacted] chose to reschedule the order for the same day. With that being said, it is unfortunate that the first order was missed however, Mr. [redacted] agreed to pay the overtime fee to reschedule the order for the same day.
We thank Mr. [redacted] for allowing us the opportunity to research this issue. We value Mr. [redacted] as our customer and will be unable to waive the overtime fee.

Kind regards,
Angela [redacted]

This letter is to inform you that CenterPoint Energy has carried out to my satisfaction the resolution it proposed for my complaint, filed on 11/16/2015 and assigned ID [redacted] Was taken care of to my satisfaction, although after they finally showed up my a/c and heater...

no longer worked,so I had to hire a repair man, seems a little fishy, but it is what it is.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
Our complaint is not resolved because no action was proposed.  We are certain that [redacted] damaged our driveway and paver stones, and the workers know that they are responsible, but the company is in denial, hoping that we'll just give up.  Becaise of the Revdex.com's help, we now have something in writing from Center Point/[redacted] and have forwarded it to our lawyer.  Before involving the Revdex.com, neither company would give us the courtesy of a return phone call and the denial of our claim in writing.
Regards,
[redacted]

We thank Mr. [redacted] for another opportunity to address his concern.  His original request was to have his bill corrected in which all of the details were investigated and the bill was corrected.  As a result, two readings were taken on 2/13/17, one by a contract technician and the other by the electronic meter reader (ERT) which resulted in two different readings.  The normal protocol is to make an assessment and determine if adjustments are warranted after a complete and thorough investigation. A reading simply cannot be changed at the request of the customer. Justification has to be proven to change the records.  CenterPoint Energy used the ERT reading to adjust Mr. [redacted]’s invoice based on a review of the account’s previous readings. After a supervisor had Mr. [redacted] re-read his meter and determined that the reading was in line, the supervisor decided to further accommodate him by submitting a safety check order which requires the presence of an adult.   It was instructed that an adult had to be present in order to complete the safety check.   Mr. [redacted] stated that he wasted his time to give CenterPoint Energy access.  Please understand it was not mandatory that Mr. [redacted] be present as long as an adult was there to give access.  In addition, a 30 minute call before arriving request was offered, which was accepted.  The supervisor followed the procedures after having Mr. [redacted] read his own meter. The reading and results from the safety check confirmed the initial ERT reading was accurate and in line with the previous customer’s usage history. When there is a high volume of calls holding, there is an automated recording that acknowledges the estimated hold time and provides an option to call back at a different time when the hold time is not as long.  Mr. [redacted] chose remain on the line to speak a supervisorPlease know that CenterPoint Energy does not compensate customers for time spent waiting to speak with an agent/supervisor or investigate a potential billing error. Mr. [redacted]’s account dispute was ultimately resolved by completion of a thorough investigation.  In recognition of Mr. [redacted] being an excellent customer, a gesture of goodwill has been applied towards his account in the amount of $25 as a onetime courtesy.Regards,Angela [redacted]

Centerpoint Energy had never provided any information about service initiation charge ($43.67) during the sign-up or even in any email. Please provide us "sent email" so I can review which email address has been used. This letter is created after the fact.  The letter is fake and created after the fact, because the fake letter amount is $43.24 (My bill amount $43.67) and does not have any date.  The PDF file property says it was crested in July 09, 2015, 08:46:48AM. Revdex.com please check your self that letter PDF property. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FROM SUCH LARGE ORGANISATION.  I am really not happy with Centerpoint energy. DEAR Revdex.com PLEASE GOOGLE THIS SERVICE INITIATION FEES ISSUE AND YOU WILL HAVE 1000 OF POSTS WHERE CUSTOMER HAVING PROBLEM WITH CENTERPOINT ENERGY. I am not asking here about deposit, because I had provided my history with previous utility company.
