This job has been completed The problem is there was damage to a corner cabinet which we have ordered twice and it has come in wrong both times Unfortunately we can not control vendor issues I spoke with Mrs [redacted] this morning and explained to her that we are on top of this and will get it taken care of She was very understanding is satisfied with our phone conversation Other than this she is very happy with her Kitchen remodel

I spoke with [redacted] and explained that gutter replacement can not be done when there is snow and Ice I admitted that there was definitely a communication problem and that someone would call him back today to schedule this I also said because of the inconvenience we would give his grandmother two gutter cleanings for no extra charge

To whom it may concern: In response to the claim that Columbia has committed fraud against [redacted] This is and her nephew's (who wasn't present at any meeting) story doesn't reflect what actually occurredI went out to estimate the relining of her box gutters She had the job scope thoroughly explained to her and understood that it is a labor intense projectShe was given the opportunity to ask questions and have them answered before and after she was presented with a priceCustomers are only presented with a price after the job scope has been thoroughly explained and all questions are answered as per our company policy, so they know what to expect for the money they are spendingShe was presented with the price which she declined accepting at that timeShe said she had to think about it and talk to her nephew and get back with meI told her that I would be happy to follow up in a week or soWhen I called to follow up she requested that I come backI came out and met with her once againWe met and discussed a discounted rate and she said she was going to get other estimatesAfter I had left on May 14th, she called me on my cell phone and said that she thought about it and talked to someone and that she knows its not a cheap and easy job to do, that she felt the price including the discount was fair, and that she wanted to move forwardI told her that I needed to sign a contract and collect the depositShe agreed to have me come out and complete the process with her I came out and wrote everything up and we signed itShe was informed that it would be half down and half at completion, which was reflected in the contractShe happily paid the deposit and was excited to get the work doneWe discussed a start time roughly and she had no more questions or concernsShe called almost two weeks later and said her nephew thought it was too much money and that he told her to cancel the contractThe rescission period to cancel is only three days, so therefore it was past the rescission I responded and said what I can do is come back out, write up and sign a change order to the original contract for a less expensive alternative, and reduce the price to make it more affordableShe said that was fine to come outI went back out to her house and wrote a change order for a different job scope and reduced the priceIt stated that it voids the original contract, but that only goes in effect if the change order is signed and agreed uponShe said that she was told not to sign anything until her nephew says it's okSo she didn't sign So, she was still under the original contract, she had the option to go with the less expensive alternative but tried to cancel the contract well past the rescission and in an improper fashionIt clearly states at the bottom of all of our contracts, that in order to cancel you need to write on the original contract, "I here by cancel this contract" with your name address and signature and it needs to be delivered to Columbia's office (or at least post marked) by the end of the third business day after signing the contractShe did not at any time do thisI hope this thoroughly explains the situationIf you need any more information, please feel free to let me know Thanks

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I would like to respond to Columbia Extregarding their response to our original complaint I'm sorry to say that the issue we have with the company is more than the wrong color of grout that was used to tile the majority of the bathroom I feel the company has not addressed the list of problems that we told them about immediately after the subcontractor they hired to do the job said they were finished Here are our list of complaints; The decorative border that was installed inside the shower area has crooked tiles, some tiles applied out of sequence, crooked tiles and towel bar crooked, tile that was cut to allow for floor heating vent was cut too big, many of the floor tiles are not level and grout is coming out, wrong toilet and bathtub installed, and finally the toilet broke approximately one month ago and I have no paperwork for warranty on the toilet or tub I have been to Ferguson Enterprises several times trying to find the right parts to fix the toilet so that it will flush properly I purchased several different Flush Kits and even took the serial numbers but as of today, it is still not working properly I was told that this is an older model toilet I was under the impression that this was a new toilet that was installed We have no manuals or warranty paperwork for the tub or toilet I would think that when new products are installed on a bathroom remodel you would leave the homeowner any warranty or instruction manuals for the products that were installed I could go on about the unprofessional manor of this company and the way this remodel was handled but it just comes down to the fact that I do not believe Columbia did a gooSid job for us as a customers I hope they refund our original down payment of $ I will attach a few pictures to verify my complaints.Sincerely, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Regards, [redacted] I have spoken with [redacted] twice and told her that I would get back with her and let her know a date and time when they (Columbia) could come out and look at the remodel and we would discuss what can be done I fully intend to let them know when my schedule is free and they can come out and look at the issues we have with their remodel of our bathroom It has not even been a full week since I last spoke with her and I intend to call sometime this week, (the week of 3/16/2014) We have been patient with them so I would think they could give us a few days to get back with them We fully intend to see what they have to say when they come to our home and look at the mistakes that were made

We do not feel that we owe a refund The work was completed to their satisfaction As far as the installation of the roof, we found a lot of oak wood, not plywood that needed replaced Normally the charge would be $but we felt bad about the additional work and only charged them $ Our operations manager, at the time called Mr [redacted] and explained the situation Mr [redacted] could have refused to pay the extra money but did the right thing and offered to have a cashiers check for us in the sum of $which is attached I have also attached the completion certificate which is signed by the customer and states that they are completely satisfied

This is a previous complaint She is a very nice lady and understands what we have been facing since we have been under new management I explained to her that we are on top of it and that we will schedule a time to see her by days end

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowColumbia Exteriors made a MAJOR mistake that I am paying the price forI did my part by having my mother present to let the staff memebers of Columbia Exteriors into my home so that she could show them the exact location of the leakThe staff members told her they did not need her services and messed up the job I have attached a letter from [redacted] who gave a second opinion of the work in questionI expected so much more from Columbia ExteriorsI am extremely disappointed that it has come to this pointI will continue pursuing this matter until my refund is received Regards, [redacted]

Response to complaint # [redacted] To Whom it May Concern:I have attached the contract that was signed August 5th, between the customer and Columbia Exteriors, LLC for the amount of $16,with a deposit of $1, As you can see this contract has nothing about pending credit approval We did submit her credit application and was able to get her approved for 8.5% which we called and notified her She then wanted additional work so we sent our representative back out to her home and wrote up another agreement in the amount of $22, She wanted to get her own financing for the second agreement so we did not ask for a deposit I have also attached that agreement which is dated August 28th, 2014.The customer was contacted on several occasions and was told selections will start once she is approved for the loan she applied for in order for her to get the additional work done. The customer contacted us on September 29th, to inform us that she did not get approved for the additional money for the second project and she had decided to cancel. There is a three day rescission period once the contract is signed where a customer can cancel This never happened. We feel that she is responsible for the first agreement and did not cancel in the time that is necessary so we will not refund her $1000.00.We would like to start the selection process and get this project completed for her If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me directly.Traci B***Marketing Director###-###-####

We have attempted to call, and will do so again today

After investigating this project I feel that we do not owe the customer a refund of any kind The owner called, and it is documented, to have us do some repairs that were on an inspection report When we inspected we discover that the valleys were cut short and that is what was causing the leak We went ahead and fixed it as per the request Not once was an interior leak mentioned until the second call On the second call the interior leak was reported in a completely different area and the owner again requested us to repair it We gave her the cost and she said to go ahead with the repair, again this is all documented We also gave her a discount due to the confusionWe also have all of the email correspondence between our manager and the owner

There has been several modifications to the project along with extensive plumbing that delayed job We are working with the customer to get the job completed as quickly and efficiently as possible

I have met with two separate contractors to look at the roof since Mr*** has come to my home Each contractor has indicated that there is raccoon damage at the rear of the home, but the other spots were not properly installed There are several areas that were not properly sealed or flashed under the slate roof or siding There are areas that were simply caulked, which would deteriorate after being installed and clearly shows that the work was not sufficiently completely Mr***'s statement, "But, they still to this day have never fixed the interior So, the insurance company won't pay on this claim because the original claim has never been completed." This is a claim, the interior has been fixed on several occasions and has been repaired again However, due to the leaked from the roof it continues to leak inside the home, which unfortunately causes additional damage If the roof was properly installed there would be no leakage nor would it be a need to contact the insurance company regarding the matter Mr*** has not been in my home and the adjuster did come into the home and observed that the areas of the interior were being repaired
I have not been provided with any original documentation to support that the warranty does not cover critter damage nor have I been provided paperwork stating what the warranty actually cover The document provided to me by the company states, "Warranty on Roof: Product: Lifetime Labor: years There is clearly an issue with the product and labor especially at the front and sides of the roof This company doesn't want to honor the warranty, but would like to charge an additional $on top of the $that was previously charge This is poor customer service and a failure to correct the problems that they created is unprofessional I asked that your office have the company provide a copy of the warranty documents that were in place at the time that this roof was installed
I am unaware what the adjuster told Mr***, but my son has left two messages for *** *** and haven't received a response back We would love to discuss the conversation that Mr*** and Mr*** had regarding this matter Regardless of their conversation, Columbia has failed to meet it's obligation to me I have attached additional photos of the work that was done improperly The two contractors/roofers that look at the roof indicated to me that this roof was not properly flashed or tucked to prevent the rubber from becoming loose and that it was not properly sealed to prevent it from coming apart the way that the pictures have displayed This situation can simply be resolved by Columbia coming to my home and making the proper repairs under warranty If they are unwilling to do this, I am requesting that the pay reasonable repair fees I have also attached a copy of a bid that one of the roofers provided my son This would also indicated that they are possibly overcharging Please refer to Options and

Regards,
*** *** I know their contract says on the last line that "there is no warranty or any work cannot be done until the money is paid in full." We agreed to pay them the balance of $ *** in monthly payments of $ *** eachThen the birds started coming down my chimney and the roof started leaking in three places and I knew we had a serious problem. That was when we decided to withhold the last $ *** Discovery on my fire escape is what led to the full complaint that I filed with youThey have refused to fix any of the problems unless the money is in their bank accountMy experience with *** has been one that if I give him the remaining $ *** he will deposit it and then call me and say there is no warranty for the existing problems and that is just unacceptableThey are very poor business people and when the contract was only one-third done their sub-contracting workers were complaining to us that they hadn't been paid and when I told that to *** he said they didn't keep a reserve account in the business and he couldn't pay them unless I gave him about $ *** that would pay their work up to dateAlthough we didn't have to pay them anything at that time, we gave him a check anyway so their workers would continue working. *** ** ***

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The company will not refund my money because they are basing the case on e-mails onlyWe began using e-mail only when we started having problemsThe previous office manager who I originally made the contract with is no longer with the company and the comany has not reviewed her notes dealing with this caseI told the previous office manager where the leak was locatedI also had my mother meet the contractor at my house so she could show the contractor where the leak was locatedThey didn't want her help and told her she could leaveNow I am stuck with a bill that could have been resolved if the contractor (Nick Black) had just listened to the cuatomer instead of doing what he wanted to do

Mrs*** is correct to a certain pointShe did have us come out to look at a whole laundry list of repairsThere were things involved in her list that we didn't do, things
that were odd ball stuff, and plenty of other things to sort through and bid onOne thing that I noticed during the inspection was that the valley on one side of the home was cut short and definitely leaking into the soffitI informed her of this and she prompted us to get it fixedAfter the work was completed, she said that her tenant was still experiencing leakingThis was the first I had heard of an interior leak, as the only thing that I had been given was the laundry list she derived from her inspection reportAt that time I re-informed her of the other leak that we had fixedI then gave her a discounted price to fix the other leak, and had it done immediately as an apology for the confusionI understand where Mrs*** is coming fromAll of our communication transpired by emailBut, she was informed on everything through the processHer not being there in person is where she got confusedShe didn't understand the terminology, and assumed that we were on the same page, when we were notSo I feel for her, but we did our part the best we couldAnd regardless, we fixed two leaks on her propertyI don't feel that we owe any type of refund
