Used *** for service of cleaning gutters on our home They provided excellent work and arrived early being respectful of my time Gentleman that serviced our home was extremely professional and politeSomething you don't experience very often these days

Regarding *** ***She was dealing with our General Manager who has since left the company. We have tried to reach out to her several times to expidite her project. In order to process and begin a project all of the selections need to be finalized. We have not been able to get with the customer to do this because she will not let us come to her home. Our Production Manager called her and explained that Ken was no longer here and that he wanted to come out personally to meet her and to finalize everything so that we can begin her job. All we need to do is get the selections finalized and we can begin the work. We feel that we can not refund her money at this time because it is well past the three day recission and there has been a lot of time and effort put in by our staff to prepare for this project. Our suggestion is that the customer let us do what is needed in order to do a great job for her as per her agreement

To who it may concern:
arial, sans-serif background-"> I, Nicholas *** went to the customers residence to inspect the leaks in the roof that they were experiencingUpon my inspection, I saw several areas where raccoon's had dug in and torn holes in the rubber membraneSpots where they had chewed holes, edges, and corners of the rubber roofOn the side of the house where the rubber that lined the box gutter meets the rubber roof, a portion of the gutter rubber was ripped back and lapped back over itself and laying on the rubber roof, where the raccoon had torn it up and tried to burrow under it to stay warm during the winterThere was another corner or the roof that had little droppings of stool near the area where the gutter was torn. The problems that they are experiencing are unfortunate but not due to a labor issue, and are 100% a critter nuisance issueAfter inspecting the roof, I informed the customer of the issues, showed them pictures, and offered them solutions for the future such as trimming the trees around the area to deny them ease of access, possibly putting fake owls on the roof to scare them away, and what it would take to repair the damageBut the damage is clearly at the hands of nature and not a lack of quality with the installationWe do not cover animal damage under our warranty
As for the supposed insurance companies responseI spoke with the adjuster personally by phone after receiving the ***' complaint and paperworkI left a message for the adjuster, then I missed his call and he left me a messageHe said in his message that he was out of town but would still try to answer my call because he remembered the customer, and was extremely interested in talking with meOnce we spoke by phone he informed me that the customer has had about four claims on this section of roofThey had received monies to fix the exterior as well as the interior damage of the leaky portion of roof, before we ever performed any workThey had been out several times to argue their claims because they released the money, and it was never fixedFinally, after they did fix the exterior, this happenedBut, they still to this day have never fixed the interiorSo, the insurance company won't pay on this claim because the original claim has never been completedThe reason, the adjuster said, that he still remembered them is because when they have customers trying to claim multiple claims on one area over years throws up red flags. Then they have to get supervisors involved and its a very serious process for them and this one still stuck out to him in his mind
As for the supposed claim that the adjuster said we installed a roof over puddlesThe adjuster told me he never said that, as well as agreed with me that there would never be a way to tell if that took placeTherefore, he would have never even said that to begin withHe also went on to say that he did not say at all what the cause was for the damage, as is their policyThey simply figure out if they are responsible to pay for it or notIf they aren't paying, then they do not give specifics as to why something like this would have happened, because they don't have all the facts and don't want to be held responsible for a wrong hypothesisHe said the only reason he didn't determine if it was a raccoon or not, is because he didn't see any scat on the roofThere was scat on the roof, I just shook it off before I fold the rubber back down during my inspection
I hope this answers any/all your questionsIf you need any further assistance from me, please feel free to contact me and let me know
Thank you,

While the work was finished, the company itself is unscruplous and unprofessionalIt was necessary for me to get an attorney because of their lack of integrity and accountabilityThey actually tried to collect an additional $*** for work that was initially contractedThanks to my attorney that did not happenI just want the public to know, based on my initail complaint and follow up of rejecting their untruthful reply that the complaint was not resolved, the job went three months beyond the week promised date,, they blame the customer for every probelm amd lieThe work was finally t completed 12/29/Thanl you for your help in thsi matterI

At dinner time on February 19th I received a sales call from Columbia Exteriors I informed the person that this was a DO NOT CALL number and he stated that they were not aware of this I told him it was his job and the law to be aware
If they can not follow this law and by association my request not to have sale calls what other laws and agreements don't they follow? It is my full intention to follow up with the Attorney General and if they do not follow up, I will file a private criminal complaint
And before they make more statements...I never contacted them, never went to a home show and most definitely did not fill out a request to be contacted

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference
to complaint ID***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. It’s unbelievable how long
this job has dragged onIt is 12/24/and now I am told that it will be
12/29/The delays have been predominately a lack of manpower, changing
subcontractors, and missing supplies, not the plumbing stack that had to be
movedEither way, my three week promised job started 11/and is still
incomplete for one reason/excuse or anotherI was promised a "crew"
and workers who would be on the job until completionThat did not happen
Since filing the initial complaint, thankfully, Columbia has provided a
subcontractor who has worked diligentlyColumbia's handling of my job from has
been fraught with problems, delays, and excusesThere has been a lack of integrity
that has created mistrustI will be happy when my relationship with Columbia
Exterior’s is overIt has been a stressful and unpleasant experience

We have reviewed the entire case and have found nothing that indicates that you had an inside leak Also there were two leaks that we fixed for you If you felt that the first one was a mistake why in the world did you pay us for the second leak I feel that we do not owe you any money and that we did what we were contracted to do I'm sorry you feel differently At this point I would contact an attorney and get some legal advise

Company provided quality service in repairing a section of roof that continually leaked It took several estimates and visits before they actually did the work but am very satisfied with the results

Columbia was scheduled to be at my home at 10:am todayNo one has arrived and no on has called to update meIt is now 10:45amColumbia has failed to show or respond on at least occasions that I have documented, so this is not a surpriseIf Columbia was actually concerned about the customer they would at least communicate with the customer instead of being so completely inconsiderate

To whom it may concern,
This is regarding the *** family's complaintThe problem that we are experiencing with this customer is that the job was completed and never paid in fullOur contracts clearly state that the customer warranty isn't in effect until the customer pays for the job in fullUntil the time that happens, then there is no warranty on the whatever work was performedThe ***'s signed a change order for $*** to add extra work to the job, and once it was completed they never paid the differenceWe were even gracious enough to set them up on a payment plan for the amount (which we never do) and they failed to make the first paymentThe other problem is that they are experiencing leaks and issues on things we did not work on (such as the roof) or things that aren't warrantied (such as a metal roof that was only painted not repaired or replaced)They said water is spilling over one of the gutters, but that has to do with the design of the home and not work that we performedThe box gutters are built on, we merely re-lined themWe can help to alleviate their issuesBut, they are incredibly unreasonably understanding people who only want to argue and not listen to factsThe issues at hand are both not our fault and not under warrantyIf they were under warranty, then they still wouldn't be fixed until they've paid in full, which they have still failed to doWe have addressed all of this with them several timesThese issues can be easily corrected but they would have to pay us the $*** they owe us first, then agree to a p*** to fix the other issues which were never addressed in the original contractThank you for your time and consideration on this matterPlease feel free to contact us with any additional questions
Professionally yours,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Someone from the company did come on November 17. At that time, I provided them conditioner and stain for the woodwork that I had matched at the Fairfield [redacted] location. David tested the stain in terms of how long to leave it on the wood and we found an acceptable match.  David took the woodwork to be stained.  We discussed possible solutions to the damaged counter and vanity.  They may or may not work.  We agreed that I would be in contact after the Thanksgiving break to finish the job.  I texted yesterday that I would be home today, December 3, and received a response that David would be in contact soon.  No one has contacted me as of this moment, 3:39 pm, December 3, 2015.Fixing the counter and vanity are more significant repairs since there is a chance that the vanity doors will not correctly line up, so there is significant skilled labor needed to complete this project.  I should also point out that I have not had a properly functioning master bathroom since March 17, 2015.
Regards,
[redacted]

It is nice to see pictures and finally hear a list of things that the customer feels need to be addressed.  We are happy to come out and fix them.   Warranty information is provided only after final payment is received.
Again, we are happy to come out and resolve any issues that exist.  Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] did not discuss this information with us prior to this communication and have avoided all attempts to resolve any issues and finalize this job since our in-house installer left their property a few months ago.

My offer is to come out and fix any issues, collect payment,  and provide warranty information.

To whom it may concern:
In response to the claim that...

Columbia has committed fraud against [redacted]. This is false and her nephew's (who wasn't present at any meeting) story doesn't reflect what actually occurred.
I went out to estimate the relining of her box gutters . She had the job scope thoroughly explained to her and understood that it is a labor intense project. She was given the opportunity to ask questions and have them answered before and after she was presented with a price. Customers are only presented with a price after the job scope has been thoroughly explained and all questions are answered as per our company policy, so they know what to expect for the money they are spending. She was presented with the price which she declined accepting at that time. She said she had to think about it and talk to her nephew and get back with me. I told her that I would be happy to follow up in a week or so. When I called to follow up she requested that I come back. I came out and met with her once again. We met and discussed a discounted rate and she said she was going to get other estimates.
After I had left on May 14th, she called me on my cell phone and said that she thought about it and talked to someone and that she knows its not a cheap and easy job to do, that she felt the price including the discount was fair, and that she wanted to move forward. I told her that I needed to sign a contract and collect the deposit. She agreed to have me come out and complete the process with her.
I came out and wrote everything up and we signed it. She was informed that it would be half down and half at completion, which was reflected in the contract. She happily paid the deposit and was excited to get the work done. We discussed a start time roughly and she had no more questions or concerns.
She called almost two weeks later and said her nephew thought it was too much money and that he told her to cancel the contract. The rescission period to cancel is only three days, so therefore it was past the rescission.  I responded and said what I can do is come back out, write up and sign a change order to the original contract for a less expensive alternative, and reduce the price to make it more affordable. She said that was fine to come out.
I went back out to her house and wrote a change order for a different job scope and reduced the price. It stated that it voids the original contract, but that only goes in effect if the change order is signed and agreed upon. She said that she was told not to sign anything until her nephew says it's ok. So she didn't sign.
So, she was still under the original contract, she had the option to go with the less expensive alternative but tried to cancel the contract well past the rescission and in an improper fashion. It clearly states at the bottom of all of our contracts, that in order to cancel you need to write on the original contract, "I here by cancel this contract" with your name address and signature and it needs to be delivered to Columbia's office (or at least post marked) by the end of the third business day after signing the contract. She did not at any time do this.
I hope this thoroughly explains the situation. If you need any more information, please feel free to let me know
Thanks

I spoke with [redacted] and explained that gutter replacement can not be done when there is snow and Ice.  I admitted that there was definitely a communication problem and that someone would call him back today to schedule this.  I also said because of the inconvenience we would give his...

grandmother two gutter cleanings for no extra charge.

Customer indicated the business called her on Saturday and left a message they would be contacting her on Monday to schedule an appointment to see what was going on.  Today is Wednesday and she hasn't heard anything.

Columbia stated previously on 9/18/15 that they would refund my deposit within 21 days. This was on 9/18/15. It is now 10/25/15, I have not received my deposit refund.
