Cord Moving & Storage Reviews (66)

I contracted with Cord Moving in May My sales rep was [redacted] and she quoted me a moving cost of around $ The move occurred on 5/15/and the move took an extra hours and the movers charged me over $which was above the quoted price by *** The movers told me that she has consistently underbid moves I paid the movers the $plus dollars since I had no other recourse at the time I called [redacted] numerous times and also spoke with her manager *** I was told by [redacted] and [redacted] that I would receive a refund of more than $which was for the - hours that had been underbid by *** I have not received the refund as of yet 7/21/and am tired of having to contact them and receiving a runaround and no results

Cord offered my wife and I a $50,insurance policy, but at no point did anyone from the company explain the multiple hoops we would have to jump through in order for it to be honored Not once we were told that all damage had to be written on the delivery documents (how would this even be possible?) I witnessed the items mentioned above being drug, but didn't discover the damage till later, after the movers left Don't you find it curious that Cord claims that all damages must be claimed on delivery documents or they will be denied, yet they accepted $worth of damages (right at the deductible amount) that were not claimed on the delivery documents? Furthermore, their "3rd party repair firm" did not have a flexible schedule and my wife or I would have been required to take time off of work (missing pay) to meet with him When I raised this concern with Cord's claims department they indicated I could email pictures/documentation instead (I have the emails to prove this) At no point did they tell me that doing so would mean they would claim that I didn't allow them to inspect Why would they tell me they can accept pictures and documentation, but then turn around and say "you didn't allow us to inspect"? Also, after they initially denied my claim based on the pictures I let them know that if it means the difference between accepting and rejecting my claim that I would allow them into my home to inspect It is obvious to me Cord provides their customers insurance policies that they have no intention of honoring Further proof of this can be seen by doing a google search for Cord business reviews/complaints I am not the first to experience this problem They are a big company that props up "Revdex.com accredited since 1957", but they clearly are practicing poor policies that do NOT put their customers first

They did an absolutely outstanding job...We asked for the same team: Alex ***, Darnell [redacted] , Donte [redacted]  and Gary [redacted] ...that loaded us up to unload at the new house (the truck had to store our belongings for nights due to our house closing dates) I highly recommend this team and company..."

Mr [redacted] has a contract that covers $per pound, per itemHe does not, nor did he pay for full coverage valuation Cord went above the contractual agreement to pay for property damage not noted at the time of delivery Cord sent a check to Mr [redacted] for $to have his items repaired, this is fair and reasonable

I hired Cord for a local move on July 29, Our agreement included an insurance policy for damaged property up to $50,(after a $deductible) A copy of this contract can be provided Unfortunately multiple damages sustained during the move We promptly filed a claim (in alignment with the company policy and procedure) A copy of the claims form and associated emails can be provided Damages claimed: Queen Latex Mattress - (not properly wrapped/protected and drug across the ground) Surface dirt has been vacuumed off, but due to the poor handling there is no way to get it clean and we request that it be replaced At this point Cord has only offered $to have the mattress cleaned Claimed amount = $ Entertainment Center - All elevator bolt legs were damaged/broken and had to be repaired (Cord accepted this portion of the claim but did not provide a monetary value, rather they stated, "below deductible") Claimed amount $ Coffee table - sustained sign

[redacted] was at the customer's home yesterday (8/25/2016) not sure why this response from the customer

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2014/12/22) */ Cord Moving and Storage Company adjusted Ms***'s invoice by $131.74, noting the information below: 1st day hours @ $= $plus $fuel surcharge = $ 2nd day hours @ $= $plus $fuel surcharge = $ Hold on truck at customers request $ Valuation at customers request $ Less paid $ Invoiced $

My name is [redacted] and I received the second notice [redacted] will be out of the office August 9-17th I will make sure that he receives this notice when he returns but he is the one to make the decision Best, [redacted]

In response to your letter regarding Mrand Mrs [redacted] , our 3rd party service is directed to contact the [redacted] 's to inspect the claimed damaged itemsWe will follow up with you once that meeting has been finalized and a report is submitted Kindest Regards, [redacted]

A tenant moved out of my duplexCord Moving and Storage was hired by Army personnel to complete the moveThe living room floor was left with multiple, long scratches in front of the front entranceCord Moving sent someone to repair itThe repair person reported that it could not be repairedI was left with long unsightly scratches which was worse after the repair attemptI was asked to file a claim with Cord Moving and did so They offered me $for the damageI declined the offer My duplex is almost totally rehabbed inside and outIt has a new roof, siding, widows, shuttersexterior lights, new concrete patios in each unit, new privacy fence, completely redone kitchens with dishwashers, microwave, garbage disposals and ice makersThe flooring is new vinyl click togetherThe stairs have the current style of metal and wood banistersThe units are completely up to code.I collect $per side Multiple, huge scratches at the entrance to the unit is not in keeping with

Dear Mr [redacted] : I apologize for not sending you the check for $that we agreed to during our July 11th phone conversation Due to the delay, I am sending you a check as a good will gesture for $since you perceived that the estimate was going to be the final bill even though you were made aware prior to the moving team showing up that all of our local moves are a time and material movesSorry for the delay and any inconveniences we may have caused youRespectfully, [redacted]

Mr [redacted] asked that Cord honor the agreement, according to the contract and the delivery documents, Cord did honor the agreement Mr [redacted] did not note on any of the delivery documents any damage (which when seen at time of delivery, is required to be noted on the Bill of Lading) Mr [redacted] states that he personally witnessed the mattress being drug across the lawn (which shows no damage), we in good faith offered $to clean it, again - no notation Mr [redacted] didn't write that his safe was "drug on the concrete" (claimed damage is to the bottom and again if he witnessed this, why didn't he write it on the Bill of Lading as required) The entertainment center was claimed at $200, the Coffee Table was claimed at $and the lamp was claimed at $which equals his $deductible Cord was not given the chance to inspect as we requested, the times that our 3rd party repair firm offered, it was denied Cord honored the terms, conditions and the contract The claim stands as settled

Recently we moved to StCharles, Mo We were referred by a friend to Cord Moving and Storage and most specifically to Tim Faulkner The move was handled in the very best possible way by all concerned and the care taken with our valued possessions was superb Tim Faulkner guided every stage of the move and even provided extra boxes Fantastic! Each and every worker took care of every piece of furniture as though it was his own These guys are strong to say the leastEach day *** from the office would call and ask how it was goingBut the most surprising thing was that after the flawless move, the final bill was over $6,less than the original estimate Wow!

They are a big company that props up "Revdex.com accredited since 1957", but they clearly are practicing poor policies that do NOT put their customers first

North American Van Lines employee *** promised to move us 6/then called us back and asked if we could move on 6/I agreed but informed her that we had to be completely moved out by 6/22/On 6/18/She came to give me the total price but instead told me that they could not move me on 6/and ask could we postpone for 6/22/We could not postpone for 6/22/as we had to be completely out by this dateHer boss, *** promised to pay for our hotel due to the horrible moving experience and last minute cancellations*** did not hold up to his end of the agreementHe did not pay for our hotel stayIt is true that we did not have a written contract with them but that was Erin's fault because she never provided a written contract

This organization owe me a refund for a move from StLouis to Denver,CoI was told on 12/15/15, by the driver to whom I had given a cashier'sc check, that the company would refund me the difference immediately
It is now Feb 5,2016, and I have contact the company on seven(7) ocassions, only to be told that the "Check is in the mail." on each occasion

I just talked, and received email photos, with my son in Sterling, VA on the shipment of his bedroom setIt was delivered this morning, is now assembled for his son to start using, and they are pleasedI am very thankful this whole shipping process worked on schedule and seamlessly to accomplish the task of getting the items to themI am also impressed with the exemplary coordination/communication by you and your organization as well as your counterparts at the distant end; proving proof that "customer service" still exists in some companies!!! Feel free to pass these thoughts along to your peers at Cord North American and those involved with this effort at ShoreView North American

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
I stand by my previous statements, and no requesting a business confirm they will take action to review a scenario and their processes or actions in light of a customer complaint in no way lends to slander.
Sincerely,
*** ***
