The whole team at Cord was fantastic I don't know how they did it, but they got me packed, and moved with minimal stress

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
I sent in the claim forms and did not hear from Cord So on on August 16th I asked if they received I did get a response back and was told that *** *** a third party repair person that inspects and repairs for major van lines would be calling us in the next couple of days That was August 16th and today is August Nearly ten days later we have not been contacted by anyone Meanwhile we are reminded daily of the damage looking at our personal property
We do hope to hear from someone soon This has been incredibly stressful.
Sincerely,
*** * *** ***

When I first called to get a quote on moving the rep came out quicklyHe arrived early and gave me the estimate the same dayThe Vice President of the company even called to ask how they could earn my businessI proceeded with choosing themThe packing and storage went greatI would receive a monthly email from the move coordinator ***) about when to take deliveryI would inform her that it would be another days to which she extended itI did ask her how I was to pay the storage bill in terms of pay it monthly or be billed at the endShe never returned that email but I brushed it offI then had an unfortunate event in that the original location I was moving to changed to a different stateI informed the moving coordinator and rep of this to determine what would need to happenThey kept saying "we're working on it" or "we're having to talk to someone higher up because we already paid this person to move it." They acted like this has never happened and could not figure it outI was not able to give them an exact location to deliver because I had not found a house yetOnce I did secure a home, the moving coordinator was the first person I calledShe did not call me back but rather the local rep who came to my house and gave me the quote called meHe said he was going to put my delivery date down as the first of August just to get a date in the systemAs time went by I never heard from anyone about a delivery date*** would ignore my emails and callsWhen I finally called her out on it she sends me a rude email full of excusesI went back to the VP and CC'd her as well about how poor this is being handledI asked why I was told one thing but then they never fulfilled itFinally I get a delivery window of August 6-14th but they will confirm the dateAgain, time went by and no communicationI reached out to *** again (CC'ing the VP because this was the only way to get an answer) who again gave me excusesShe finally got back to me saying that my delivery should be the Monday Aug 20th but it may be TuesdayI said it cannot be on a Tuesday (21st) because I have already taken off that day from workShe started going on and on with excuses and that I could talk to the driver I called the driver over the weekend and he responded with "I cannot be there the 20th, I'm scheduled for the 21st to deliver to you." I called and emailed *** again who never respondedMy point is that why would you even say that the delivery would be on Monday when the driver is saying that he is no where near there and cannot be there then?
When the driver did arrive on Tuesday the 21st, the driver said "this isn't everything, there is some overflow" I asked why I wasn't told he said "I called the dispatch and told themThey looked it up in the computer and said you should have been informed." Well I wasn't *** and *** (the VP) then pull way back and quit talking to meI email and called them repeatedly without any responseI called the customer service line and spoke to ***I told her what happened and that the communication and management there is poor to which she said "I agree with you." It's now been week and the rest of my stuff is finally going to be deliveredThis company will do whatever to get your business but once they have their money, they just give up I will not use them or recommend them ever to anyone to move If you do, make sure you stay on their behind

Cord truck and repair was part of the cord moving and storage companyBetween 3/and 3/29/2017, my truck was in their shop for head gasket repair and jake brake switch repairWhen they released my truck and I brought in for a Kenworth dealer for jake brake inspection, the dealer told me my jake brake was removed from the inside of my engineIt would cost more than $to reinstall itCord truck and repair denied any wrongdoings, but they could not explain why they failed to mention the jake brake was not in my engine when they tried to repair the switchIt seemed like they had something to hide and I need to get my $that I paid them for the head gasket repair in order to reinstall the jake brake that they appeared to have removed

Our family just moved to Illinois ( StLouis area) from Okinawa, JapanMy husband just ended his eight year career with the marine corps and with our shipment we got placed with Cord Moving CompanyThey were prompt with letting us know when our things made it in and quick to schedule the pack out, unfortunately that is the last good thing I have to sayThe two men they sent to unpack my things thought discussing politics was appropriate, even in a degrading way, while conducting businessFrom there when they went to unpack our things they were covered in moldWith their advice I declined all of my belongings and was told we would be contacted MondayWe have talked to a third party person the entire time since thenNot once has this company contacted us or responded to our many callsThey have my entire home in their posession and haven't even given us the courtesy of a phone call to let us know what is going on with our belongingsI will never use this company again and wouldn't suggest anyone else to ever use themI have never been so disappointed with a business in my life

PLS-trucking brought his Kenworth dump truck to our shop to have a coolant leak looked atHe stated he purchased the truck years ago (later into the job he told me he lied to me and said he only owned the truck for months see text message attachment), I had one of our techs inspect the coolant
leak and we found that it was a leaking head gasket, we had to remove the turbos to see behind the exhaust manifold in order to know exactly where the coolant was coming fromWe also found that the water pump was leaking from the weep holeI spoke to the customer and let him know we had to remove the turbos to see behind the exhaust manifold and find out where the coolant leak was for sure, I quoted him 2- hours (which I later absorbed this time into the head gasket job and did not charge him the extra time to remove the turbos and diagnose the source of the leak)He approved the quote and we proceeded, we found the head gasket leaking below the #exhaust port I then sent him a written estimate for the head gasket replacement and water pump replacement for $and advised him the job usually takes a week or so to complete because we have to wait for the machine shop to inspect, clean, and resurface the headHe approved the estimate and we proceeded with the repairWhen we started to disassemble the engine we found many bolts and nuts missing and a bracket broken, I advised *** about the missing bolts and nuts and bracket for the air filter and let him know we would replace the missing bolts and nuts and air filter bracket when we reassemble the engine he was ok with this He also stated that the person he purchased the truck from had told him they removed the Jake brake switches because it was illegal in the town they lived in to use them and *** wanted to know if we could reinstall the switches and see if the jakes worked but he was very clear he did not want to spend much money or time on the Jake brakesI told him we would install the switchesI called CIT Kenworth in Fenton to find out if the truck came equipped with Jake brakes from the factory the parts guy looked up the VIN# on the truck and advised me it came with CAT exhaust brakesWe removed the valve actuators from the top of the valves which I thought were part of the exhaust brakes that the parts guy was taking about and showed the customer that the engine has actuators and they were missing the adjuster lock nut from one of the actuatorsHe again asked me to install the switches but not to spend a lot of time and money on the Jakes I told him I would order the switches and install them We reassembled the engine after receiving the Cyl head from the machine shopAfter getting the engine reassembled fully we removed the dash panel found the wiring harness labeled Jake brake and installed the switches and found that the dash indicator light came on but the jakes were not workingWe connected our lab top to the truck to check the ECM to see if the Jake brakes were working we found active codes in the ECM for the jakesI advised *** of the code and he asked if I would give him the code informationWe reconnected the lab top to the truck and gave *** the information because he did not want to spend any more money on the Jakes, We spent about hours on the Jake brake issue and only charged *** for minutes plus the switches and this time and the parts were not part of the original estimate We also installed light brackets on the back of the truck per customers request which was not part of the original estimate Half way through the job *** started texting me and calling me over and over again to tell me we are taking too long on the job and he wants his truck back, he also was accusing us of not working on his truck at all, which we were working on his truck and trying to get the job done as quick as possibleThe job calls for hours I gave him a break on the labor and charged him hours on the estimate and on the invoice When *** came to pick up the truck he was acting very stand offish and wanted to test drive the truck before he paid the invoice which I agreed to but told him I would have to ride with him which then he changed his mind and decided to pay the invoice and then take it for a ride, He asked me about the Jakes again and I told him we install the switches and found the codes which I gave him the information on and reminded him he told me he didn’t want to spend any money on the jakes I explained to him we would have to spend more time on the engine and I would have to charge him to figure out the issue with the JakesHe picked up the truck and left with it*** started calling me and telling me I screwed him on the price of the head gasket replacement since it was a hour job and the gasket set he can get on line for $I tried to explain to him that I only charged him $hours for the head gasket job and the water pump job and I had to pay the machine shop to inspect the head for cracks and have the head surfaced so the mating surface was flat and would seal to the new head gasket but he was not listening or just did not want to understand that I did not charge him too much and that the estimate was approved by him *** than called me a day or so later and started accusing me of stealing his Jake brakes from his truck and calling me a player and telling me I screwed himI explained to him we did not steel the Jakes off his truck and he needed to call the person he purchased the truck from and find out where they wereHe then told me he has the truck at Kenworth and they are checking on the jakes, they told him the truck does not have jakes installed on it, I called Kenworth and spoke to the service manager and asked him what they found with the jakes and he explained to me the actuators on the valves on this engine were not part of the jakesI tried to explain to *** I was mistaken and thought the valve actuators that are installed on the engine were part of the Cat brand exhaust brakesHe then started to harass me even more about the price I charged him for the head gasket and water pump replacement (which has nothing to do with the $He was charged for the switches to be installed in the dash) to the point I had to block his number from my cell phone I will be happy to refund him the $we charged him for the labor to install the Jake brake switches in the dash but I cannot refund him the money he approved for the head gasket replacement and the water pump replacement We have no reason to steal the Jake brakes from this unit, we work on hundreds of trucks every year and we own over pieces of equipmentWe have many happy customers and would not risk upsetting any of themThe parts this customer is talking about would not do us any good they will not fit any of our equipment since we do not have any CCat engines in any of our trucks and none of our other customers run this engine either There was no correspondence after March 31st after the last text message that is when I blocked his phone number from my cell phoneHe could not have spoken to me on 4/12/as per stated on the Revdex.com form Please see attachment for the voice mail, text messages, estimate, and invoice that were related to this repair Thanks *** *** Cord Trucks *** Office *** Fax

Cord Moving company employees damaged pieces of furniture, two of which are valued antiques, and our property during our move on June 20, Photos of the damage were sent to Cord on June 20th and a claim was filed with Cord Moving company for each article damaged on June To date, despite emails and multiple phone calls very little has been doneThe only effort Cord Moving Company has made to resolve these concerns is to send a repairman to look at the damage to furnitureThat was over weeks agoNo effort has been made to repair the furniture or the damage to our home or compensate us for loss of value The bed that was extensively damaged is unusable and was intended for use in first floor bedroom by my year old motherWe have been making do with a temporary situation for days as we await Cords resolution to our claimI am very frustrated by the company's lack of response and attention to this matterI have been notified today by Cord that only one person i

In response to your letter regarding Mr. and Mrs. [redacted], our 3rd party service is directed to contact the [redacted]'s to inspect the claimed damaged items. We will follow up with you once that meeting has been finalized and a report is submitted.   Kindest Regards, [redacted]

My name is [redacted] and I received the second notice.  [redacted] will be out of the office August 9-17th.  I will make sure that he receives this notice when he returns but  he is the one to make the decision.
Best,

Ms. [redacted] was in our storage facility as she claimed, we delivered her items to a mini-storage and a few items to her...

parents' home. Upon delivery the paperwork was not signed so we called Ms. [redacted] and drove to her home for the paperwork to be completed, this was approximately one week later. At that time, Ms. [redacted] wrote down items that had been damaged. Cord settled on the items that were noted by Ms. [redacted] and the items that were packed as we considered it concealed damage. Since the majority of the items delivered to a mini-storage, Cord Moving is very strict (as is all other moving companies) regarding what is noted at delivery since it is out of our care, custody and control. Ms. [redacted] had also moved to Florida and taken some items with her, these items were considered moved again therefore we denied these due to the fact we were not made aware of when the damage actually occurred. From Ms. [redacted]'s complaint, she also does not understand that items she paid for years ago are not the same price today, our industry settles on current replacement value.  We do not take pleasure in denying any of our customers claimed items or not settling for the amount claimed, Cord Moving is very fair and reasonable and at times must uphold the integrity of our conditions and procedures for accepting claim liability.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: Cord Moving is being dishonest. The damage was noted. A claim was filed. A repair man, sent by Cord Moving, admitted that he  was unable to repair the floor. He actually made the appearance worse. The moving company previously admitted to the scratch. The area scratched was NOT under an area rug. The multiple scratches are right as you enter the front door. As you can see from the attached photos, the multiple scratches are very visible and highly unattractive.  You can also tell from the photos that my unit is quite nice and I want to keep it in top condition. That does not include a scratched living room floor that is readily apparent as you walk in the front door.  I have attached a bid from the flooring company. I want Cord Moving to take responsibility for the scratches and to repair the damage by replacing the floor. I am appalled by Cord's lack of responsibility for the damage and by their extreme dishonesty. You may contact the tenant at [redacted] to verify this information.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Mr. [redacted] has a contract that covers $.60 per pound, per item. He does not, nor did he pay for full coverage valuation.  Cord went above the contractual agreement to pay for property damage not noted at the time of delivery.  Cord sent a check to Mr. [redacted] for $1060.00 to have his items...

repaired, this is fair and reasonable.

Mr. [redacted] asked that Cord honor the agreement, according to the contract and the delivery documents, Cord did honor the agreement.    Mr. [redacted] did not note on any of the delivery documents any damage (which when seen at time of delivery, is required to be noted on the Bill of...

Lading).  Mr. [redacted] states that he personally witnessed the mattress being drug across the lawn (which shows no damage), we in good faith offered $100.00 to clean it, again - no notation.   Mr. [redacted] didn't write that his safe was "drug on the concrete"  (claimed damage is to the bottom and again if he witnessed this, why didn't he write it on the Bill of Lading as required).  The entertainment center was claimed at $200, the Coffee Table was claimed at $200 and the lamp was claimed at $100 which equals his $500.00 deductible.   Cord was not given the chance to inspect as we requested, the times that our 3rd party repair firm offered, it was denied.
Cord honored the terms, conditions and the contract.   The claim stands as settled.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/10/13) */
Cord Moving and Storage Company is in the process of adjusting Mr. [redacted]'s claim.
An inspection company has just submitted their report.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/10/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept...

the response from the business.)
The rationale why I state I don't accept the response; the company has stated I have to pay a $500.00 deductible for anything to transpire in terms of my furniture and property at my new home being repaired. This is unjust because I requested the company wrap my items prior to moving from my old residence in cloth/padding. In addition, why am I paying a deductible also for them damaging my home when they moved my items?
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/10/22) */
Cord will address the damages first, one firm was sent to inspect, another is sent to repair the leather. We will take it one step at a time to work with the customer.

I have resolved the complaint with the business. Please close the complaint.

Cord Moving and Storage Company (Belleville) received a picture of the scratch on the floor.  The damage was not noted on our paperwork and our crew member stated that they  did not know how it could have happened since it was under an area rug.  It was a single scratch and Cord...

did send a repair service to attempt repair.  The repair was noticeable so Cord offered a goodwill gesture of $600.00 to the owner of the duplex.  Cord stands with the offer of $600.00.

I've received the complaint, I will pull the file and respond by close of business on 1/25/2018.  We are short staff due to illness in our company.
Best,
[redacted]
