Cord Moving & Storage Reviews (66)

Dear Mr.  [redacted]: I...

apologize for not sending you the check for $84.75 that we agreed to during our July 11th phone conversation.  Due to the delay, I am sending you a check as a good will gesture for $100.00 since you perceived that the estimate was going to be the final bill even though you were made aware prior to the moving team showing up that all of our local moves are a time and material moves. Sorry for the delay and any inconveniences we may have caused you. Respectfully, [redacted]

Cord offered my wife and I a $50,000 insurance policy, but at no point did anyone from the company explain the multiple hoops we would have to jump through in order for it to be honored.  Not once we were told that all damage had to be written on the delivery documents (how would this even be possible?).  I witnessed the items mentioned above being drug, but didn't discover the damage till later, after the movers left.  Don't you find it curious that Cord claims that all damages must be claimed on delivery documents or they will be denied, yet they accepted $500 worth of damages (right at the deductible amount) that were not claimed on the delivery documents?  Furthermore, their "3rd party repair firm" did not have a flexible schedule and my wife or I would have been required to take time off of work (missing pay) to meet with him.  When I raised this concern with Cord's claims department they indicated I could email pictures/documentation instead (I have the emails to prove this).  At no point did they tell me that doing so would mean they would claim that I didn't allow them to inspect.  Why would they tell me they can accept pictures and documentation, but then turn around and say "you didn't allow us to inspect"?  Also, after they initially denied my claim based on the pictures I let them know that if it means the difference between accepting and rejecting my claim that I would allow them into my home to inspect.  It is obvious to me Cord provides their customers insurance policies that they have no intention of honoring.  Further proof of this can be seen by doing a google search for Cord business reviews/complaints.  I am not the first to experience this problem.  They are a big company that props up "Revdex.com accredited since 1957", but they clearly are practicing poor policies that do NOT put their customers first.

not sure why this response from the customer.

Mr. [redacted] asked that Cord honor the agreement, according to the contract and the delivery documents, Cord did honor the agreement.    Mr. [redacted] did not note on any of the delivery documents any damage (which when seen at time of delivery, is required to be noted on the...

Bill of Lading).  Mr. [redacted] states that he personally witnessed the mattress being drug across the lawn (which shows no damage), we in good faith offered $100.00 to clean it, again - no notation.   Mr. [redacted] didn't write that his safe was "drug on the concrete"  (claimed damage is to the bottom and again if he witnessed this, why didn't he write it on the Bill of Lading as required).  The entertainment center was claimed at $200, the Coffee Table was claimed at $200 and the lamp was claimed at $100 which equals his $500.00 deductible.   Cord was not given the chance to inspect as we requested, the times that our 3rd party repair firm offered, it was denied.
Cord honored the terms, conditions and the contract.   The claim stands as settled.

In response to your letter regarding Mr. and Mrs. [redacted], our 3rd party service is directed to contact the [redacted]'s to inspect the claimed damaged items. We will follow up with you once that meeting has been finalized and a report is submitted.   Kindest Regards,...
