Response:

This customer came in and joined the gym on Nov 24th, 2014. He continued to use the gym for 7 workouts and then wanted to quit on Dec 15th, 2014. He was cancelled from his monthly dues on Dec 15th but will still be responsible for the enrollment fee and first months dues.

Review: This complaint is actually directed at the [redacted], it's a new location that was formerly [redacted]. It was not an option when I searched. So this may need to be forwarded to their corporate headquarters.

I joined [redacted] over a year ago. I paid an initiation fee and Crunch recently took over. When they first took the gym over, they told me I could convert my current membership to a crunch membership and never mentioned an initiation fee. The second time I approached the front desk when I was ready to switch, they said an initiation fee would be imposed. I told them no, that was not what was told to me the first time. I got the Manager's card, [redacted], and called him. I explained to him that both my husband and were already subjected to an initiation fee (a rather large one) and that I didn't think it was fair to imposed this on incumbent customers. We had no part in the gym switching owners hands. And Pure had much higher gym fees than Crunch, so obviously we would like to take advantage of the lower membership dues. I feel that this is an unfair business practice to impose a second round of initiation fees to existing members. I feel that Pure was over charging in the first place, the gym has several old and broken machines and Pure didn't take care of the gym as they should have. So now that the new owner has taken over, they want to take advantage of existing customers by dangling a lower fee in front of them, but charging them another fee? I know that it's in their power to waive this unnecessary fee, and I would like for them to do just that, for loyal customers who don't want to leave.Desired Settlement: I would like them to convert both my husband's and my membership from Pure to Crunch (we don't really have another choice) without the initiation fee.

The District Manager for this location has left 3 voicemails and is now trying to reach out via email to discuss with member but no reply has been received at this time.

Review: I did sign up for crunch and then I had a health issue and work schedule issue that I told them I am can willing my membership and a am cancelling the membership right away 3 days after We signed up and that 1 month fee is acceptable to be charge and they they continue to charge us the membership inspite the cancellation and did find out only after the credit card was cancelled and now they re asking to pay the rest of the membership fee for 6 more months. We never visited the gym since we signed up that 1 day visit the entire time.

I need them to cancel and stop asking me to pay something I did not use and or cancelled membership.

[redacted]Desired Settlement: Stop billing and stop the collection stop membership fix credit collection for [redacted] and [redacted]

Response:

[redacted] both enrolled at Crunch [redacted] on Feb 6, 2015, both on a Peak membership. Their memberships required them to pay their first months dues at the time of enrollment, and an annual fee that was to be billed 60 days later. Apart from these obligations their memberships continue month to month until they cancel. On Feb 22, 201r [redacted] and [redacted] both signed cancellation forms at Crunch, and both of their memberships are now cancelled. There are no notes of records of any kind showing that either [redacted] or [redacted] have notified Crunch of their intent to cancel. Because of this their memberships have continued to accrue additional monthly dues.
