You expressed concern with the balance on your account for unreturned equipment. You stated that you moved and no longer have the equipment. You also maintain that you were told that you did not have to return the equipment and your account had a zero balance. Furthermore, you mentioned that your service was not canceled as you requested. Our records show that you accepted placing your service on DISH Pause on January 14, 2015. DISH Pause was removed on October 15, 2015, because the allowed time frame of nine months was exceeded. When you contacted us on October 15, 2015, to disconnect your service, a review of the recorded call found that you were told that a box for the return of the leased equipment would be sent to your home. The agent indicated that we showed one leased receiver on your account that was required to be returned within 30 days. I also enclosed a copy of your DISH'n It Up agreement, wherein it discloses that the equipment provided is leased and is required to be returned upon disconnection of your service. Since the equipment was not received, you were charged an unreturned receiver fee of $249.00 and an unreturned LNBF (eyepiece on the satellite dish) fee of $49.00. As a courtesy, I waived the LNBF fee. When I spoke with you by phone on December 22, 2015, I advised you that the remaining balance of $262.69 is valid. After further review of your account, I made an exception and removed the unreturned receiver fee, leaving your account with a zero balance. After talking to her on the phone I thought we would have to pay for the unreturned equipment (even though we had closed the account). A few days later I checked my email and I had an email from DISH (the representative that I had talked to). The charges were taken off of my bill and the balance was again zero. I called DISH to verify that the account was at a zero balance and it is. Thank you very much ***!

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:The problems were not solved satisfactorily and I spent hours on the phone with people I could not understandI emailed Dish immediately when after one day we knew we would not be able to use the system as it was just too complicatedCustomer Service when I did talk to them were very condescending and refused to let me cancel our contract, even though it was only a couple of days of service that we had with Dist was so frustrating when my husband would change the channels on his t.v., but my t.vin a different room would also change to whatever channel he was watching and would not stay on my channelCustomer Service refused to accept what I was saying was really happening and my husband was so upset, after just a few hours, went around and disconnected all the t.v.'s from their outlets on the wallsWhen I called and tried to cancel service they refused to let me do so, saying we were using the remotes incorrectlyWell, there's only so many ways you can use a remote and sending different remotes was not a satisfactory answer to the numerous problems we were havingThe response I received from the "special agent" [redacted] was just as insulting as Customer Service had beenHe refused to acknowledge the complaints I had, interrupting and talking over me, accusing me of lying in my initial report to the Revdex.comI know what happened with the service, there was Dish software installed on my computer because I noticed my computer was slower and then I saw three different Dish programs installed [redacted] accused me of lying, saying they "never use any computer equipment." Well I saw it with my own eyes***'s justification for charging us over $was because Dish had to pay the technician to come out and install the equipment, even though they got all the equipment backI said repeatedly we only had Dish service for a couple of days when we knew it was too complicated for usHe refused to acknowledge this and insisted we would have to pay the bill which is over $500, as they had already paid the technicianI cannot believe Dish has such horrible customer service when customers can't work their equipmentI found several reviews online after the fact, saying the same thing, other people had found that the service was too complicated and tried to cancel their service but Dish wouldn't let them, and that Dish has numerous complaints and a terrible reputation for bad customer serviceI wish I had read those reviews before we ever signed up with themWe are old and on a fixed income and this is a terrible hardship for us Sincerely, [redacted]
