I am accepting this since I don't believe D&B is really interested in accuracy and I don't have more time to spend. They explained the error as a "mail merge"mistake which has been recurring for years from their own database. They also identified many other errors related to data accuracy showing other businesses at our address. They didn't mention this in their response.
They mentioned a "free service" to update info. I have never provided them any information. They have relied on their own research which apparently is flawed.
They ensured me that I would be removed from any of their future mailings so we will see.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted]. Per my initial complaint, I referenced that the business name that we do business under ([redacted]) is not the business you have in your records. Please also include [redacted] on your do not call list. I will file a complaint against the [redacted] as they may very well be the ones contacting me.  At this time I find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I am rejecting this response because:As a customer of [redacted]’s lead generation system, we are disappointed at the quality of the information provided by the [redacted]’s system and we are saddened that acontract has to be mentioned as a justification for the quality of your service. This leads us to conclude that the service has more severe issues that what we believed initially. On the [redacted]’s website, the following claim is made that doesn’t hold true: “With [redacted]’s, you can uncover opportunities, tap new markets, and streamlineprospecting”. We truly believed that we would streamline prospecting and that [redacted]’s leads would help our sales team improve their effectiveness to be ableto land more qualified opportunities. We found ourselves having to do quality assurance checks on the data in the system, by doing additional research to double check the information. When I first learned of this problem, I contacted Daniel Levensohn at your company, and was told that nothing could be done about my problem andthat I had to provide proof.  I believe that this response is unfair because I believe that [redacted]’s should be accountable for the quality of their data that they provide to customers. We feel that it is not our responsibility to safeguard the quality of the data that issold to clients via downloads. I would like a written statement explaining your company's position and proof that it is a quality service and what you will do about my complaint, and not merely the mention of a contract.I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible to resolve this problem. We keep our position of a refund for last month’s charge and insist on the permanent cancellation of the contract.

complainant on March 7, 2016, to inform her that we are investigating this matter. Should the complainant have questions while we investigate, we ask the complainant to contact Dun & Bradstreet Emerging Businesses directly at [redacted]

Revdex.com: Thank you for your help with this matter. D& B contacted me again and fixed the problem.

[redacted] did not request nor wants to be part of D&B and has asked to be removed from your list.  The date about my company is false.  I challenge you to find one credit card or any request from any of “your members”.  I have not applied for credit and as I explained to your service department have no desire.

Per your statement the information used to make a poor credit decision about [redacted] came from a company that reports commercial activity and was confirmed by a second source.  [redacted] has not engaged in any commercial activity.  Either your source is wrong or you willfully used false information about my company to create a negative financial profile.  The “proprietary predictive analytics” took false information and in its transformation did more damage to my business.  The false impress on my business has created a profile that potential customers would not do want to do business with my company.  This has caused a loss to my business because of your negligence.

Please note I believe that you have entered false information about my company.   [redacted] does not have creditors, never applied for credit and run a private business operating on cash.  To remedy this solution provide collected information about my company that lead to this decision.  Name the vendors and poor credit payment history you used to make your credit rating decision.  If the information can be verified then the credit rating can stand.  If you cannot verify and validate the information remove [redacted] from your data base.  Refusing to do so will require me to take additional action against D&B.

Best regards,

inconvenience this may have caused.  Per the complainant’s request, as of December 30, 2015, we confirmed the company’s information has been placed on our do not market and do not call list.  We suggest the complainant contact any third party websites or companies, directly, as we may not have the ability to control removal of information that may be held with third party companies. Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I have view this same response to every complaint made against D&B, this is a generic response made and do not believe they take the matter seriously. Due the the nature of the business practices exemplified I am prepared to further this complaint to the Federal Trade Commission based upon the firm belief they emails are created upon the premises of getting a business to sign up for their service. I based this belief upon the fact according to the email I received stated my scores had improved but when log into the D&B website I seen different. But upon logging in the first window that opens is to subscribe to D&B services. I further my belief upon the fact numerous other complains from businesses with similar  issues and more. Lastly I based my belief upon the conversations with [redacted] of the online chat and later phone conversation and also Mrs. [redacted] of the Office of the President, where as I recieved window dressing and excuses as to the true purpose of the emails. Which is not an isolated email, because I have numerous of such emails. It does not take a week for a tech support to figure out how and why an email was sent. And this is first hand knowledge from an over qualified computer & network support technician. Whom I might add is in the top 200 ranked in the world for qualifications.

So in closing I reject their response as generic and uncaring and restate my complain as to the business practices with deception to consumers!

seriously and thoroughly investigated. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Dun & Bradstreet  does not report on personal credit. We do however have a Business Information Report on your company [redacted], Inc, [redacted], principal officer [redacted] We have  an obligation to provide our customers...

with information that may be a factor in their decision-making involving credit, insurance, marketing, and other activities. Our objective is to provide fair and accurate information. The business principal is the best source of information, which is why our investigation starts with them.  If they are unable to, or choose not to provide the information, our investigation continues with a search of public records and other knowledgeable sources. The Virginia Secretary of State currently shows [redacted], Inc’s corporate charter as terminated effective June 30, 2015. This public record shows the business name [redacted], Inc., [redacted], principal officer [redacted] We have updated this credit report to show as currently inactive. We have also notified, Findthecompany, Corporationwiki and Alacrastore who are companies that buy our data requesting they remove the information pertaining to [redacted], Inc off of their websites. Bizapedia and perfectleads are not our customer’s. They are probably using the information that you have on the Virginia Secretary of State corporation registration and you will have to ask them directly to remove this information. Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. It is our belief that this response resolves this issue.Respectfully Submitted, Dun & Bradstreet National Customer Relations

I am rejecting this response because D&B is simply admitting my complaint is vaild, without offering a solution.D&B admits that its partners are misusing its data by allowing them to present the data in such a way as to make it appears as relaible and actionable to consumers. Here is the way [redacted] presents D&B's info about my business on its website: "Founded 4 years ago, [redacted] R [redacted] Investigations has been in business for less time than its investigation service competitors". "According to Dun & Bradstreet, [redacted] R [redacted] Investigations earns an estimated $40,000 a year. This is:47% less than its investigation service competitors in [redacted]..". Nowhere near these grossly inaccurate statements, which seem calculated by design to drive customers away from my business, appears the truth to which D&B has just admitted:The data is can be wildly inaccurate, and should not be relied on to make decisions about which investigative company to hire. Again, D&B needs to do the right thing and force its partners to stop presenting grossly inaccurate information as anything short of made up.  Particularly as it effects my business. Here is a link to my company's entry on [redacted]
