Dun & Bradstreet, Inc. Reviews (107)

Review: My company contracted, in behalf of a client of ours, access to:

- 12 month access to the 85millon businesses database.

- Download 250,000 business records

- Download 5,000 emails

3 months into the contract my client cancels the agreement and stops payments to my company. My company tried to negotiate cancellation of contract unsuccessfully.

Our account was suspended before six months into the contract. We had to pay the contract regardless our attempts to cancel. We were told by [redacted] that our account would be reinstated once payment was received.

Now that we finished paying, we are asking for the 6 months, 250,000 records download, 5,000 email download contracted.

D&B via their filial company [redacted]'s denies fulfilling their end of the contract.Desired Settlement: I want to have our access restored, and be able to use what we were obligated to pay.

Review: [redacted] requires every developer to get a Duns and Bradstreet [redacted]. There is no other service provider that can be used. Only Duns and Bradstreet

Duns and Bradstreet have taken advantage of this monopoly position and created an artificial 30 day delay. We have the following 3 complaints

1) DUNs number was not issued even after 2 months.

2) On Phone the Sales Representative made the wrong claim that information was missing. We had entered all the required information correctly. He very specifically said that application was stopped due to missing information. This is impossible since the form cannot be submitted without information being filled in.

2b) If any information got lost in their systems they should have contacted us via email or phone so we could provide it. That information is saved in their systems and we can log in and see that information.

3) After emailing the team he pointed us to, to RESTART the application, instead of continuing existing application, that team made claims in direct conflict with the sales rep's claims.

This new team '[redacted] Duns and Bradstreet' claimed they could not find the application. That we'd have to start a new application

4) Instead of 'we messed up by not giving you a DUNS number in 2 months, when it should have arrived in 30 days', Duns & Bradstreet are behaving like a [redacted] bureaucracy and saying - we can't find it. restart the whole 30 day process again.

4) Basically, Duns and Bradstreet are losing applications and delaying applications and introducing 30 day delays, in the hope that developers will get frustrated and instead buy the 'expedited service'.

As they are the ONLY service that provides this duns number. as the duns number is an essential prerequisite before developers can sign up for [redacted]. They are basically in monopoly position and are abusing it.

Since they are in monopoly position they are forcing 30 day delays and losing applications.Desired Settlement: 1) They deliver our Duns number immediately

2) They stop abusing their monopoly position and replace the 30 day delay with a more reasonable 5 or 10 day delay

3) They provide tracking and receipts when orders are submitted. So that if/when they try these 'dog ate my homework' tricks to force developers to buy the paid product, there's a record that can be used

Further, please be advised that we took this matter very seriously and thoroughly investigated. Dun & Bradstreet contacted the complainant on January 29, 2016 and addressed his concerns. Review: They continually call about a former business that has a different name then ours. We tell them we don't own that business and they say that I need to input my company name in their system to update to the new company. I don't require their services and have been very clear that I do not wish to continue to receive these calls about the previous owner.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I wish for them to not contact us any further.

Response:

We need additional information to appropriately address this concern. Please provide the name of the company we are calling about as well as the telephone number we are calling. With that, I can research the problem further.

Review: Have previously tried to get my home address and home phone number de-listed from their database without success. They have my name, home address and home phone number listed as a business which has propagated down to every listing company in existence which has made me receive robocalls, sales calls, etc.. to my home phone number which is on the Do Not Call list. I have talked to numerous people in the past without any resolution.Desired Settlement: Asking that my information be removed immediately from any and all databases they operate or distribute.

Business

Response:

A check of our database of business information reveals a report under his personal name under DUNS [redacted].

Given the information provided in his complaint, I have deleted this report from our database today. This deletion will take effect tomorrow morning. However, please note that the "downstream" effect may take longer - most likely into mid-October 2013.

Review: "http://www.dandb.com/businessdirectory/[redacted].html" the link from Dun & Bradstreet's website. After several requests to cease, Dun & Bradstreet continues to publish my name and home address as contact information for a business that never existed. I've called and made the request via email. The information disappears for awhile only to reappear on the D & B website along with several other third party websites, the most egregious being findthebest.com. Then the telemarketers start their daily bombardments of calling my home regarding business listings, computer services, office supplies,etc... Both the telemarketers and the third party publishers blame their inability to permanently delete my contact information on Dun and Bradstreet. They claim that due to the fact that their source material (Dun and Bradstreet's database) continues to show my information as being current and valid, my contact information will reappear on their potential client list.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is legal, documentable proof that Dun and Bradstreet is fully aware of the fact that they are publishing incorrect information.

Response:

The link provided in the complaint is not a D&B link, it is a link to Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp (DBCC). D&B and DBCC are two separate and unrelated business entities. When the link is pasted into a browser, a 404 error comes up on DBCC's site. In other words, its a dead link.I searched the D&B database for any D&B record that matches his name, address or telephone number. I found no matches on his name. For the address, I did find a D&B record on [redacted] (DUNS #[redacted]). That record has been inactive since November 1998. For the telephone number, I did find a D&B record on Tilesa US, LLC (DUNS [redacted]). I have updated that record to remove the telephone number (since I couldn't find a replacement in the public domain). That revision will take effect the morning of September 4, 2014.Based on the findings and actions outlined above, it is our belief this response resolves the issue.Regards,D&B US National Customer Relations

Review: This company has been using our business's name, the company Dun and Bradstreet are accompanying the unauthorized use of our business name with a fictitious address. The address is [redacted] MN. There is no such building foundation at the location. I have spoken to very rude agency staff who hung up on me when questioned why the company insist on trespasses of these sorts.Desired Settlement: We expect this company Dun and Bradstreet to produce any/ paperwork associated to our business [redacted] they have. Dun and Bradstreet was located throughout the [redacted] That is how we made the discovery about the fraud. Using false addresses is fraud concerning the [redacted]

Business

Response:

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. As a result of your complaint, we discovered a duplicate record in our system for [redacted] That duplicate record has been deleted, which in turn caused the [redacted] address to be deleted. These revisions will take effect tomorrow morning. As a matter of practice, we are not at liberty to divulge our sources of information; therefore, I cannot provide the "paperwork" requested in Ms.[redacted]' desired settlement.Going forward, D&B will maintain a D&B Business Information Report on [redacted] under [redacted]. If the subject company would like to view, print or revise this report they can do so via[redacted] ([redacted]. [redacted] is D&B's self service web portal, available for free 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Review: Dun & Bradstreet is listing my personal home address and phone number in their business listings for [redacted]. When calling to request they remove the listing, they told me I had to register with their website and do it that way. I did that but of course there was a glitch in their system so I don't know if it was removed. I want it removed immediately.Desired Settlement: Removal of my personal information for [redacted] listing.

Business

Response:

I spoke with Ms. [redacted] on August 5, 2013 in regards to this complaint. All measures were taken to honor her concern at this time. The information on the internet pertaining to her home address and phone number no longer exist in our database. The information is provided to D&B by Datasources that report commercial activity. Companies that purchase our information, Manta, Findthecompany and Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corporation were notified at this time and have removed this information. The business entity [redacted], LLC Duns [redacted] was updated stating this company dissolved.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. If the customer has any questions or comments, please contact me directly. It is our belief that this response resolves this issue.
