Edwin Stipe, Incorporated Reviews (67)

I selected Edwin Stipe for installation of my new gas furnace and air conditioner after meeting with four vendors. Matthew of Stipe reviewed my options and offered what I believed was and is a fair price and quality product.
Jon and Steven handled the installation of the units. They arrived on time, were professional, courteous, and pleasant. The installation process went perfectly due to there knowledge and experience.
I highly recommend Edwin Stipe, I also have neighbors who also have selected Stipe has their HVAC choice.

Cant say enough about the service and the professionalism of their staff. I have them for my home and have just used them for my mother in laws home. She is elderly and gets confused easily and Hector the technician was outstanding. I recommend them to everyone who is looking for this service.

Nader of Edwin Stipe, inc. is a diligent professional. He is attentive and provides clear answers to any questions. He is also personable while looking out for the customer. He goes the extra mile, thoroughly examining the system, and making changes and suggestions to maximize performance at the least cost. It is always a pleasure to welcome Nader to my home. I am confident my HVAC system is well tuned and working properly.

Technician was courteous and he kept me informed of his progress along the way. Work was done in a timely manner.

Sabistian was very professional and explained everything that he was doing. Great Job!

I needed service on my failed air conditioning system on a very hot day. Edwin Stype was able to send a technician within an hour or so. The man was able to diagnose the problem and replace the failed part from stock in his truck. He was pleasant, efficient and fully professional.

The service person was very professional and courteous, and assured us that our heating system is now functioning well. We'll be seeing them again for our air conditioning checkup in the Spring.

The tech was 3-1/2 hours late. All he had to do was take out my old kitchen faucet & replace it with the new faucet I purchased. He was in & out of my home in 45 minutes. I was charged $79 for the dispatch which I have no problem with. I then was charged $340. per hour for the work he had done. I didn't ask up front what they charge per hour, no fault. I enjoy telling everybody about what happened on my day vacation from work.
When our engineering staff go out to a oil refining we only charge $275.What a rip-off.

Sebastian took the time to explain any AC questions we had. Will do business with the company again for maintenance.

We have been using Edwin Stipe for several years. to check and service our heating and air conditioning equipment.
The are consistently reliable and very professional. They provide good service at reasonable prices, without trying to convince you to purchase equipment or repairs that may not truly be necessary.
We appreciate their preservice notifications, and that the service reps arrive within the prescribed time-frame.

John came to clean my furnace and while he was here, I pointed out a problem I was having with my sump pump area. John assessed the problem and since it was a plumbing issue, called in Josh. The 2 young men worked diligently and fixed my issues. They were friendly, informative and cleaned up after themselves. I would recommend their services to others.

They were responsive and helpful. The technician did his job well. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I recommend Edwin Stipe.

On time, neat presentation. well prepared with all the tools and parts needed to take care of the periodic maintenance as well as the reported problem

Pre-season Heating System inspection: Technician was prompt, courteous and professional. Installed new air filter and checked system. Office staff has always been professional, courteous and customer service oriented.

Review: Signed contract for instillation of gas hot water and gas furnace on 5/30/13. Furnace and water heater were installed 6/24/13. Have contacted multiple times to have inspection so gas service can be connected. Originally told that the office forgot to file the building permit, told this week that they were just contacted to pay for the building permit. Still have not arranged for inspection and then gas connection and installing the thermostat. It is now almost 3 weeks since starting this project. Seems like an excessive amount of time.Desired Settlement: To complete job as soon as possible.

I am rejecting this response because: while it is true that we were never left without heat or hot water, a 2 day job took seven weeks and many phone calls, almost daily, to complete and pass inspection. Our hot water was reconnected to our oil hot water heater, but the line was leaking oil into our basement which we had to clean up. The permits were not even filed with the township until 2 weeks after the initial installation and instead of filing for a furnace and hot water heater, they requested permits for a hot water heater and a stove. So this also needed to be corrected. We had signed the contract a month before installation so there was plenty of time to file for the correct permits and have them the day the equipment was installed. If the permits had been obtained prior to the start of job, the gas company could have turned the gas on back in June instead of the end of July.

Regards,

Review: A new heating system was installed, and failed to operate properly. After repeated attempts to resolve the issue, the heating system still does not operate properly. The company refuses to discuss the problem further. ( i.e. not returning phone calls, telling me that only one person can discuss the problem with me and he is not in today. everyday!!!)Desired Settlement: I feel that at this time, after waiting for parts of my home to get heat, I must now find someone competent to finish the job.

RE : [redacted]

Matter has been resolved . Our offer to correct the matter per manufacturers site visit and recommendations was refused . They did hire another firm . We did offer to reimburse . The system in question was for auxiliary heat in a sun room and in no way affected the main house heating system .

Review: EverRest Elite Series 13 SEER and 14 SEER Air Conditioners & Heat Pumps were installed at my home on July 3rd, 2013 by Edwin Stipe, Inc. The problem existed from the day one that the AC unit started up with a noise as high as 78 decibels - higher after running for long period of time. The air-blower is like a wind tunnel in the whole house. Repeatedly the service was called and neither service man was able to resolve the problem. 4 months passed and I am still waiting for the service department to call me back and let me know how the problem will be taken care of. The base of the AC unit outside is bending in the middle of the platform also. Wiring was done without using a junction box. The 10 year warranty sounds good but when it comes to honor it that is a different story. The defected units should be replaced but I am still waiting for the day to be done. My registered letter to them went unanswered as of today Oct. 29, 2013.

Their service person tried to correct the problems but I am still stock with an AC that starts up like a tractor, also the heat pump sounds like a drum. Edwin Stipe service claims that they were in contact with the company Amana but still no solution for the dis-functioning system. Last phone call I made to their office was 10/30/2013 and I was told neither person is available, out of office naming: [redacted] and the service manager by the name [redacted].Desired Settlement: I waited over almost 4 months to resolved the problem. Their advertizement says that "that your cooling system doesn't interfere with a good night's sleep." We are loosing sleep when the unit starts up and the noise level is 78 decibels or higher.

The system should be either replaced or refund all payment so we will be able to have a functioning system without disturbing noises. The total price was $4,793.00 paid for this nonfunctional system.

RE: [redacted]y Revdex.com complaint [redacted]

Edwin Stipe has been in business since 1894. We have served our customers by continually providing. good service, quality workmanship, and fair pricing.

We installed an EverRest heat pump on July 3, 2013. Although the unit was operating within specifications, we addressed the customer's noise concern on July 16 with a component to reduce startup noise, reevaluated it on July 26 to find it still within specifications, and made additional adjustments on July 30 with the support of the manufacturer.

The owner of the company, our Service Manager, and the distributor's representative met on site With the customer on November 13.

Resolution: The work is complete, inspected, and operating within specifications. The customer still has concerns about noise. For her peace of mind, we are doubling her free service contract and providing a 10 year new unit replacement warranty if the compressor fails. The customer is satisfied.

Sincerely.

I am rejecting this response because: - with no further action at this point.

I

complained about the noise level from day one. Service was trying to

lower the noise level by installing a starter first, then there was

adjustment made for the blower speed and neither changed the noise

level. IF they knew that the noise level is so called "normal" to this

system then the service should have said so. In their new write up the noise level is included 71-71DB, however my unit goes above that to 78 in the hot summer months.

Anyway, I am just stock with a system that is disturbing at night and neighbors also hear the noise coming from this compressor.

The respond from the service manager is that: "Resolution; The work is complete, inspected, and operating within specifications. The cusromer still has

concerns about noise. For her peace of mind, we are doubling her free service contract and providing a

10 year new unit replacement warranty if the compressor fails. The curtomer is satisfied."

However the E-mail from the company owner [redacted] says this: "

My letter will state , extend the one year free parts and labor to two

years. If the compressor fails within one year of our 11/14/13 visit we

will install at no charge a NEW REPLACEMENT OUTDOOR UNIT ."

I have not received the letter yet, probably it may arrive today to my house. (I Hope)

I

have 2 different answer for the extended warranty. Actually the time

adds up to 4 months extension from installation day was on 7/3/2013 and

company's visit on 11/14/2013.

Anyway, I do not proceed

this matter further. Now I am aware of that the compressor that [redacted] company (maker of this system) is

selling less than good quality comparing to other same Air/Heat Pump systems . Edwin Stipe, Inc. should be aware of this and to their

benefit they should sell a better made product. Even if the better

products are more expensive Edwin Stipe, Inc.'s company would benefit

from it.

Thank you very much for your help in his matter, at

last my call was answered and Edwin Stipe, Inc. responded to my

concerns. The future still holds if or when this system will dysfunction

according to other customers complaints on the internet. At least I hope I

can count on Edwin Stipe service's longer in this matter.

The service pro was considerate and helpful.

Every interaction with Edwin Stipe was handled with professionalism and kindness. We were in the process of converting from oil to gas, and other companies said they would get back to us and never did. Matt came to our house right away, gave us a detailed estimate of what it would cost, and answered many, many questions along the way. His responses were always prompt and informative. In between our conversion, they were kind enough to provide us with space heaters to keep our home warm. Once they came to start the project, John and his co-worker worked 2 days straight with no complications. It's been a week since they installed everything, and we couldn't be happier. We can't speak any higher about a company. They really have impressed us, right from the beginning.

Very positive experience. Josh was precise and competent and he completed the necesary work in a timely manner, with full explanations about work that needed to be done and costs.
