Let's say you kept your Mercury Mountaineer pristine, just bought him new top of the line tires and your engine decides to die at exactly 195,Some would say, I overlooked the 16% of oil left in the tank before driving from MD to NY and back...some say it was time, 195,shy of 200K for an American car, it paid its duesMy engine gave me less than second warning before stalling in a curve off GW Parkway in front of the PentagonTo make things even more fun, I called my roadside assistance and they took a full hour to decide who's jurisdiction, and also had to get permission for a tow truck to enter the parkway and come to my rescueI towed my SUV with an extra charge to my trusting mechanic in Rockville, MD
After a thorough search in Maryland for low mileage engine, almost giving up, I happened to be in FL and I searched for engine and transmission placeTodd answered the phoneI explained my situation and locationHe quickly identified a used engine with low mileage for meAlso he took the time to explain which parts I needed to tell my mechanic to keep/or replace and a short list of filters and gaskets that needed to be replacedWhat made me feel even more comfortable was when Todd said that the engine will have to come into his shopHe will personally check it and it will not be shipped out to me if he found it defective That alone gave me great confidence that Todd will inspect an engine before it leaves his shop because he will be issuing a warranty under his company's nameThe transaction was smooth, I provided my mechanic's delivery address and informationMy mechanic received the engine in Maryland within the weekHe said it was perfectly wrapped and he did not have any issues installing itI provided the gaskets, oil and filters Todd had mentioned beforeMy SUV had a new heart!!!
