Equiant Financial Services Reviews (87)

Terrible customer service and ridiculous hold times. This is the type of company that makes you feel dirty after doing business with them. Its instant regret with no way out. They claim you have a 14 day back out period buy it's very untrue. Even with certified letters they do not honor it. Beware consumers.

Review: I have been trying to get my credit report corrected due to the incorrect report that Equiant Financial Services is reporting that I have a foreclosure which I do not. I have been trying to get them to update my credit report accordingly. I have submitted my information to the credit report agencies but when they try to confirm the information Equiant Financial Services would not talk to the credit agencies , [redacted] and [redacted] Tell I called and provided a verbal authorization which I did. But then later I get informed that they want the authorization in writing which I did also. I am in the process of trying to buy a home and this delay after delay can cause me to lose the home that I have been trying to purchase if too much time is lost.Desired Settlement: I want Equiant Financial services to discuss and update my credit report accordingly with [redacted] and [redacted] and not continue to delay the process.

This company provides financial services to a Timeshare Company called [redacted] or [redacted] located at [redacted] in [redacted]. This company uses illegal and manipulative sales tactics. Anyone in league with this company should not be trusted.

Review: Account Number [redacted] This company keeps sending me invoices for amounts due. The timeshare agreement is fraudulent and I sent them a letter canceling the agreement, please see below. I want this company to refrain from contacting me and to close the account. They and their counterparts misrepresented the truth and I want a refund of the two payments of $300 I already paid.

Dear Sir/Madam

Account Number [redacted] – C[redacted]

I am hereby cancelling the purchase contract for the timeshare as the timeshare outlined and represented to us by your company is not the timeshare available. At the time when we signed the contract it was stated that the unit we were purchasing is exactly would be [redacted], namely 3 bedrooms/2 bathrooms is what we would get for 2 weeks each year. However, when I made enquiries at [redacted] I was told that was not the case and I would have to purchase more units to stay at [redacted] and that the points I would accumulate in any given year won't even be enough to stay at the said timeshare. Your salesperson also stated the unit would be available anytime of the year which was another misrepresentation as the unit is not available any time and is already booked 1 year in advance.

Apart from the blatant misrepresentation, your sales persons also

a) Told us purchasing the 3 bedroom unit at [redacted] Resort is an excellent investment

b) We can gain a profit by renting the unit at least once annually

c) We can use the unit any time we wanted for 2 weeks each year

d) We can profit by re-selling the timeshare

e) The contract was entered into under fraudulent circumstances as you failed to disclose material facts in order to induce the timeshare sale.

Based on S.C. Code Ann. S27-32-40, we are exercising our right to cancel the timeshare contract as th

Review: Equiant's automated phone system quotes incorrect payoffs. On 10/08/14 the automated phone system stated my payoff was $6069.98 with a per diem of $2.94. On 10/09/14 the automated system quoted a payoff of $6072.92, which is what I expected. My monthly payments are automatically withdrawn from my checking account on the 9th of each month so I decided to pay $5800.00 on 10/09/14 and would call back the next day for my final payoff. On 10/10/14 the automated system quoted a payoff of $5921.09. I assumed my payment of $5800.00 was not yet posted to my account so I paid the difference of $121.09 on 10/10/14. On 10/13/14 I called back to make sure my account was paid in full and the automated system said my payoff was $20.19 with a 1 cent per diem. This didn't make any sense to me but I went ahead and paid $20.20 assuming this would payoff my loan. On 10/15/14 I called one more time to make sure my account was not paid in full and the automated system said my payoff was $17 and some odd cents. I opted to speak to a representative. The representative told me each time I made my payment via their automated system I was charged $3 and some odd cents for paying over the phone and I was also charged a $7.00 impound fee, which was for Equiant loaning me the money for my timeshare. I told [redacted] (the representative) when the automated system gives you a payoff that should include the additional fees. She told me it was in my contract. I then spoke to [redacted] a Customer Service Supervisor who again told me the same thing as [redacted]. I again explained when an automated system states your payoff for today is xxx with a per diem of xxx that should be the payoff. I also said no consumer is going to check their contract every time they make a payment or attempt to make a payoff. All fees should be disclosed via the automated system and they were not. [redacted] stated he would have someone check the automated system to find out why it was not including the additional fees. He also stated I would not have to pay the $17 and my account would be considered closed.Desired Settlement: I feel I should be refunded at least $14.00 if not the entire $20.20 I paid on 10/13/14. When I paid the $121.09 on 10/10/14 I expected that money to be applied to the account that day and payoff the loan. Since the money wasn't applied to my loan until 10/13/14 I guess I am responsible for the 2 days per diem of approximately $3.00 per day. I should not have been charged the impound fee or the phone payment fee if it was not included in the payoff or disclosed on the automated system.

Good afternoon,[redacted] Re: Revdex.com Complain ID[redacted] Re: Equiant Financial Services Inc & Global Exchange Vacation Club A/C[redacted] Equiant is in receipt of your complaint regarding the automated phone system quoting a payoff for your Global Loan account. We have thoroughly reviewed within our records the timing in which each payoff inquiry was made along with the timing of each payment posting to your account history. We were able to determine the automated system was accurate in present the true balance, payment fee and impound included, for each inquiry that was made. Based on your explanation of your calculations in effort to pay in full the exact balance we can understand the confusion. It is clear to us it was caused by the actual payment processing day and time that crossed your calculation which was accurate for the very moment it was obtained from the system. Equiant would like to accommodate your request of refunding the entire $20.20 paid on 10/13/2014. The transaction reversal will be submitted today and completed within 2 business days. During this timeframe your account will be reinstated to an active status to allow for processing the transaction reversal. Upon completion your account will return to a paid in full status. If you have questions during this time please contact me directly. Respectfully, Equiant Financial Services Inc. [redacted] Equiant is going to accomodate the consumer's request to have their full payment of $20.20 returned.Best regards,[redacted]
