I live in *** *** *** *** ** *** and I have a dryer that has caught fire, destroys clothes, it rips apart everything, even smokesIt has become so bad it makes loud noises and it won't dry or work to its maximum without damageI have had over $in damaged clothes, etcfrom this dryerWhenever I submit a repair order the complex either hits COMPLETE or completely ignores itI have even went as far to e-mail the general manager (who ignores me) and the service director Miseal who will forward my e-mailI have asked several times for the entire unit to be replaced as the repairs don't workThey go unanswered and now, the dryer; catching fire, has destroyed a family quilt

My *** review says it allThis is not a good company to do business with, I sent an inquiry to *** *** Apartments in Los Angeles managed by this company asking about the pricing, credit qualifications, income qualifications and security deposit amount only to get a response from an employee named Dale *** with the subject line Wait list closedHe advised that the Wait list for affordable housing was closedI responded what are you talking about and then finally got him on the phoneHe was rude and talked over me and said that he interpreted that that’s what I was looking for from my questions and that I asked about affordable housingI never mentioned anything about affordable housing I just asked basic questions and based off those questions he assumed that I was looking to sign up for some low income programI was shocked and offended and he lied and said I choose an option asking about affordable housing which I did not and there is no optionThis was the worst experience I have ever had, Dale judged me based off questions instead of trying to close a sale this company should be ashamed to have an employee like this and if they continue to allow him to treat people like this they will eventually have a discrimination lawsuitIt’s not fair to consumers that we can’t ask questions before completing an application especially when you are relocating from another stateThey deserve to be shut down from the experience I had today

After reading my instructions for move out I took part in the pre-move out inspection, in which I have a copy of the inspection and now wish that I would have recorded the conversation with the groundskeeperI was informed by the gentleman who was African American that I would not need to have the carpet cleanedMay I add that upon move in the carpet was filthy this was discovered by my toddlers white socks turning pitch blackI have a receipt of that service which was done not too long before moving inI believe that the grounds keeper intentionally mislead me to cause an incurrence of additional feesI should have double checked with the manager, however he told me to clean nothing and that everything would be cleaned with a special solution, I had never heard of any of this before, This man was from New York and had attended college in the SouthIn addition there were no photos that could prove the frame of the microwave had indeed been damagedThe management company and the

This company, Equity Residential, has a policy in place that only allows you to speak with the property team you are currently having issues withIf you have a complaint, the company website allows you to complete their Resident Relations formAfter completing the form, only the property staff you are having issues with respondsAlso, if you call the corporate office number at 312) ***-***, you are instructed to send an email to [email protected] because that is how Equity Residential system is set up (“no one in the corporate office will speak to residents”)Again, only the property staff responds
After, reviewing the responses from the property staff concerning my complaint, regarding the late fee applied to my account after I slid my rent under the door before the property staff arrived on October 4, 2016, I am still being forced to pay the late feeIt is unfortunate I am unable to dispute this matter with someone other than the property staffThis has led me to

This matter pertains to a deposit we paid on behalf of our client to Equity Apt at Washington StBoston, MA We paid a deposit of $(via ***) by telephone on July 15th to Mr, *** *** At that time, he indicated that the deposit would be credited to our clients account On August 3rd, we were informed by Mr***'s colleague, Ms*** **, that the deposit was not credited to our clients account Ms** indicated that she would fol**w up with Mr*** and correct the matter immediately and prior to our client's move in On August 4th, I contacted Mr*** via email, to ensure that the matter was resolved properly but he did not respond to my email (Ms** was also cc'd on this email.) Unnerved by the lack of fol**w up and communication, I again emailed Mr*** on 8/and enquired if all matters were resolved and if there was anything missing or he needed additional information to please let me know -Again, no response was received--Ms**, who was cc'd on t

This is a complete jokeInformation on the their site about Transfer Program can help make your relocation easy

Yes this only works when your lease at the last days no feesMiddle of your lease would like to move to a place the same price or more expensive then you only need to pay $onlyIf you would like to transfer for less expensive you need to pay $transfer fee plus one full month rent
This is the information need to put on their website or on the lease terms not on the hands for the leasing team I had three leasing team members from different locations Artisan Square, *** *** ***, *** Hills and ***, *** told me different information that cause confusing, run around and $application fee that I won't get refund for this misinformation

We had a previous issue with this company thought to be resolved however they are now going back on their word from what was told to us
Initial complaint is #*** thought we sorted things out by a transferring apartments and waive amenities fee by CM - Marco ***A fee that Marco agreed to waive was because of the "confusion" we had with denial of our transfer to purposely keep us in a bedroom so we could pay more rent, instead of decreasing to a bedroomIn the closed office conversation to sort out our issues we had with Marco, he stated that he would transfer us into a bedroom like we initially requested and also stated when you renew your lease on your same apartment an amenities fee is not charged but when you transfer there is one charged, however, stated he would "go ahead and take care of the fee for us" for our troubles and so we can start a clean slateMarco transferred to another property shortly after and of course nothing he promised was done

After seeing a listing on *** in December of 2016, I proceeded to view an apartment at *** Place Apartments (*** SNew *** Los Angeles, CA 90020) that was listed by the leasee for sublease
After viewing the apartment I was taken to the leasing office to complete a rental applicationDuring the application process I was told that I was being added to the current leaseholders lease and would not have my own lease to ensure an 'easier approval.'
I was told that I was approvedUpon arriving at the apartment I found homeless squatters in the underground parking facilityThe unit also had roachesI complained to the leasing office and after nights, decided and informed the leasing department that I did not want to stay here
When speaking with a manager I was told that they were ok with releasing me from the lease because it was done incorrectly by adding me to the current leaseholders lease instead of giving me my ownHe said this was done by the leasing

I would leave starts if that was an option
When I rented my apartment at the Girard building in Boston it was under reasonable management months into my residence the management company changed to Equity Residential and the services became abysmal Mail was no longer being delivered, packages would be lost regularly and the staff were unhelpful
Fast forward to the end of my lease and trying to leave I complied fully with the lease agreement to provide in writing my notice to leave days prior to the date I moved out I received email confirmation that it was received but they would like me to fill out their form It took a few days for my schedule to match up to their limited hours to complete this additional form After moving out I received a bill that I had broken my lease days early and was being charged a fee for this When I explained that they had received a notification days earlier and even provided the email they stated it was not valid because it was not on their form This is not a stipulation of their lease The form is not even available other than from them at the time you provide your notice to leave I provided a letter drafted by my lawyer that again explained the situation and provided a check that I would give as payment in full (annotated clearly on the check and in the letter accompanying it) The check was cashed and I did not hear anything else back Now weeks later I am being hassled by a collections agency for the fraudulent payment
The incompetency and predatory practices from this company is ridiculous I would recommend avoiding interacting with this company at all costs

residential contract with vantage apartment mention two cars parking spots , one is reserved and other one as first come first serve role and should be number of cars equal to number of parking spots , but actually this is never happen as most of time no parking spots available at night in whole compound and leasing office continue make lease for new residents , which actually don't know where they will parking their cars , at morning there is no problem but the main problem happen by the end of the day when every one come back from work , this happen with me when come back after long day and did not find any parking spot so parking my cars in cross street compound ( this advise of security guy by phone when I called him complain no parking and a lot of unauthorized cars taking my parking spots )and they towed my car for unauthorized parking and this charge me $ plus damage happen in my cars during towing I'm looking for refund $ fee , and make sure my parking spot available

Once a resident places their apartment on notice and completes the notice to vacate form, any automatic debit that was set up is cancelledThis
resident signed the appropriate paperwork which outlines the process and informs the resident about the stop of automatic payment
As a customer service gesture we will split the late fee in half and appropriate credit will be applied to the residents account

Although we made several attempts to reach our leasing agent about incorrect charges, I was informed by my bank that I had a delinquent accountWe were not given a due date by mail or by emailThe leasing agent claims they were sent but cannot prove the emails were ever sentThe collections agency that our agent referred us to call "has no record of our account"We aren't trying to get out of paying, in fact we're just trying to find someone that will take the money and close our accountA delinquent account is absurd as we were never given a way to pay

I lived at *** ***, a property of Equity Residential from 2013- In July of *** *** failed to do their due diligence and allowed a convicted felon to move into the property I even had to notify them that he had a record There are rules in the lease agreement that states that you cannot move onto property with a felony record This felon damaged people's property, including keying all sides of my vehicle, intimidated people and made it down right terrifying to live there
The property then asked me if I would help them, by going to court to explain what I saw this guy do to my car so that they could get him evicted The people in the front office were so nice, that I went to court and helped them out, even though I was very afraidI went to court, helped them and never even pursued anything further for the damage done to my personal property
I had to move out right after this, and the front office lady said that there would be no charge because of what I

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
Credits have still not been posted to the account, I was advised they would be and it is still pending. PII information was displayed. The notice was taped to my door on several occasions in a manner that PII was visible to anyone who walked by the apartment. I took photos of same and kept many of the lettersIt was folded in a manner that PII was displayed. I have been in the credit & collection industry for over years, writing policy for regulators such as the CFPB, OCC, FDIC, FCA and all major lending institutions. I am a subject matter expert consulting and speaking around Fair Debt and Collection Practices Act. I reiterate PII information was displayed and as my communication to the building manager indicated, this policy was in violation of the FDCPA and I suggested to him that they change this practice. I can provide the email to support this claim. I believe simply denying PII information was displayed is insufficient. I believe they should change their policy and process to comply with Federal regulations.
We are still pending clarity on an unauthorized application of a credit balance on my account to cover a deposit in the amount of $199.00. I was told the deposit was not required based on my credit rating. The management team is disputing this. This item is still pending as I am researching a month history of emails to provide supporting documentation of this communication with the companies management team at their request.
I still did not receive an apology from the building manager who started reviewing this process in July and he refused to comply with my requests simply stating the monies where owed and due without addressing and answering my questions. Now two other manages had to be involved only to advise me they would be issuing credits for the item I originally dispute back in July with *** ***. Throughout the whole process my questions did not change, he just didn't provide a complete review and answers of same. Then started posting collection/eviction notices to my door, each day over the course of consecutive days in addition to other notices (also I received additional notices via USPS) after I had complained to his supervisor. It seemed retaliatory, which was further supported when he disabled my access to the tenant portal (once I complained the access was granted again)So while we have made progress forward, there still remain a few open items. I am looking forward to finalizing this matter in a timely fashion
The credits that they agreed to apply to the account are based on improper
Sincerely,

Put a deposit down for a unit on Sep9, Cancelled the apartment on Sep28, The apartment they promised us was NO WHERE near what they said it would beWe were disappointed and after our HORRIBLE experience with management, my main reason for cancelling was the lack of customer support from there management and because the unit they promised us was nothing like they promisedFloors were uneven, view was of roof tops of other apartments, there were stains on hardwood floor
I called that same day ThursSep 28, to request that my deposit be returnedNo response from the teamI emailed Christina the property manager and still, NO RESPONSEI am tired of going out of MY WAY to do there jobs and reach out to people and let them know when they can expect there deposit returnedI paid with a credit card so I don't see why you can't just refund me but have to send a check? I still haven't received a check

I would caution anyone from renting from the Cupertino, CA location (City Gate at Cupertino Apartments)Here are some key things to be aware of:
the office staff: neither accountability or integrity are high on the list for this group of people; their lack of transparency and complete disregard for professionalism, coupled with their inability to tell the truth make for the perfect recipe for disaster
the office staff: they make it a point to suck as much money as they can from the residents
no security: there seems to a rash of car break-ins every month or two and yet nothing is being done aboutit's supposed to be a gated community but the gates are always broken
4: the office staff: they do not keep the office hours and out of times there is a line waiting for someone to return from the office I went to the office at 4:45pm and they told me they were closed when the office hours say to or to it changes based on who is workingThey also close the office for lunch
the management: this property is so poorly run and the manager (Monique) does not show any interest in the needs of the residents
the price: cupertino is a great area with great schools but the office staff are the worst I'm convinced based on my dealings with them that they make up charges and misquote figures to get more money from residents and new comers
My advise to upper management: fire these people and get new staff, these people make your company look bad and they don't care

Extremely bad accounting practices and a complete lack of response by the companyTerminated a lease early and had to move out due to relocation and job changeFirst the office staff couldn't clearly answer questions and had no written information on terminating a lease procedure, had to have multiple conversations with office staff to get informationAccounting is extremely delayed or inaccurate On Nov 27, I received a "past due" notice for a charge on Nov 30, On occasions accounting did not reflect current charges, of course we pay even though they can't keep track of who owes them moneyI have asked multiple times to speak to supervisors and corporate with no success
