A tax lien appearing on the credit report means that the government has filed a lien for past due taxes
The amount of the lien includes the original value of the lienWhile you make payments to the
government, the account status will remain as it appears nowOnce you pay the account in full, it will
show "tax lien released." This will remain on the personal credit report for up to seven years from the
filing date
When a consumer disputes the accuracy or completeness of information on their personal credit
report and tell us specifically why they believe the information is inaccurate or incomplete, we process
their dispute as required by lawWe contact the furnisher of the data to verify the accuracy of the
disputed information
If the consumer disagrees with the results of the reinvestigation, it is the consumer's legal right, under
the FCRA, to add a 100-word statement specifying the nature of their disputeThe statement will
appear with the item as long as the item remains on the credit reportAny further concerns regarding
the disputed information may need to be directed to the creditors reporting this informationPlease

On November 15th I called Experian at 714-830-and spoke to a gentleman by the name of *** I expressed to *** that I wanted to file a dispute on two accounts *** *** *** *** *** ***9XXXXI expressed to him that I wanted to request method of verification under section of the FCRA he quoted to me a portion of the law and stated that he is not required to to provide method of verification I then asked for his ID number he stated he did not have one and that he is located in Costa RicaI then asked for his supervisor he then placed me on hold and I then spoke to Louis who reiterated that they are NOT required to provide me with method of verification.I find this absurd because if you get a response to your dispute from the credit reporting agency saying the disputed item was “verified” you have the right to request the “method of verification” under the FCRA, Section (a)(6) and (7)Clearly these men are in Costa Rica and are NOT aware of US lawsLouis did not want me to file a dispute claim but he eventually did
