Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/09/23) */
Ms***,
The $offer was a Good Faith gesture only for being lateI increased it because you had multiple complaints, but the standard is $15/business day$is the final offer regarding late arrival
Your damage/loss
claim was handled per the terms of the contractSome of your items were marked as 'PBO' or 'Packed by Owner'*** denied those boxed items and compensated for one of your items that we did pack
Please see the attached claims correspondenceBoth claim resolutions are final at this timeYou may contact the American Moving and Storage Association if you wish to seek arbitration regarding these claimsYou may start the process by visiting their website: www.moving.org
We do however maintain our stance on these matters
Sincerely,

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
E-Z movers is making claims that my dishes were PBO (packed by owner)However I paid $to have everything packed by their moversThey are now refusing to reimburse me for dishes that were broken during the moveAs you can see in the photos, they only thing PBO were two plastic containers which contained my winter jacketsIn fact I still have the bins with EZ movers stickers on them that have not been touched since the moveThis company is lying and cannot be trustedThey need to reimburse me for the damages done during the move
Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2014/09/30) */
The coverage for the move was $0.60/lbYou put a total weight of 45lbs and therefore the revised compensation is $Please see the attachedThis is our final offer

Moving is pretty stressful no matter how you do itMy husband and I decided this time we were going to hire movers to help keep the stress off our platesBoy, were we glad we did! We had EZ Movers IncThey are kind, fast and efficient
We moved from a two bedroom apartment to a houseThey worked tirelessly and handled every aspect of the moveWe packed everything and they moved itThey came in like a hurricane and grabbed everythingThey had boxed for this and ways to carry thatThey wrapped all our furniture
I would use these guys again!

A couple days ago I hired EZ Movers to come to my house and pack up my furniture and almost all my belongings The house in was moving into wasn't going to be available until a couple days laterSo they stored my stuff on their trucksI was pleased when they showed up on time a couple days later and had all my things in orderI had the same crew unload my thjngs, lead by kevinThey sent guys and they all worked very hard and very fast, but took great care with our things including furniture and electronicsI would gladly recommend them to anyoneHow they got that picture out of the attic without damaging it is beyond me!!!

I filed for arbitration The arbiter ruled in my favor and instructed EZ Movers to pay an award EZ Movers has not complied with this binding judgement I was informed that AMSA (the trade association for movers) did not renew EZ Movers membership for various reasons including their refusal to honor an arbiter's ruling I will be filing a claim in small claims court to recover my money DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY
ORIGINAL REVIEW
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------<... /> Do not hire this company for your move I'm currently in arbitration with E-Z Movers for a move that occurred at the end of February Not only were three items (moved by E-Z Movers) damaged, but as others have pointed out, their customer service is terrible A summary of my experience can be found below:
PRE MOVE
I moved from a large one bedroom condo into a house I also mentioned I would like to have my kitchen/island packed I was assured packing the kitchen would not be a problem and the movers would have an additional supplies I was quoted a move time of three hours NOTE: remember that their estimated cost is just an estimate I believe this company (and likely others) will under quote jobs to win business The actual cost of my move turned out to be more than double what I was initially quoted
MOVE DATE
iMovers showed up a little late (which was fine, they didn't start clock until when they actually started)
iiForeman looked at my unit and estimated a move time of hours He also said he didn't know they were packing the kitchen and wasn't sure whether they had the necessary supplies to do so We went over the move contract and I was never offered the option to purchase additional insurance for the move
iiiSince movers were unaware they were supposed to pack the kitchen/island, I began packing the kitchen/island myself using some leftover boxes I purchased from home depot and some newspaper I had laying around
ivOnce the movers were done loading up non-kitchen items, they began to help me pack the kitchen (that they were supposed to do themselves) using mostly my supplies except for some dish paper they had
vAs some of the final items were being loaded onto the truck, I was told "we may not have enough room on this truck for your stuff." I never saw the contents of the truck prior to departure
viMove time took hours
DAMAGED ITEMS
iThree items were damaged 1) arc lamp, 2) large fake plant, and 3) floor lamp
iiAll items were packed by the movers Upon delivery to the house the movers admitted they were broken Foreman told me to take pictures, call the office, and that someone would come by to fix the items or I would be compensated for them He said it was the first time he had damaged items on a move
iiiI took pictures of the items and sent them to EZ Movers Response times were unacceptable On several occasions I would call and get sent to voicemail or passed off to someone else
ivI estimate the value of the items to be ~$ I filed a claim and was offered $in compensation - this is why I decided to pursue arbitration

I apologize for your negative experience with Ez moversWe take every precaution to help prevent damage, however, despite our efforts some damage still does occur during the transportation processWe offer several coverage
options in case of damage; The client is offered a full value protection plan available for purchase on the day of the move, the ability to purchase additional coverage through an insurance carrier of your choice prior to the move, coverage through a moving insurance carrier such as movinginsurance.com, or the standard limited liability protection offered free of chargeIn this instance, the client elected the standard limited liability protection which releases the shipment based on weight and not valueThe coverage selected by the client in this case releases the shipment at $per lbper itemThe compensation offered for the damage claim is based on the contractual agreement and clients elected coverageWe must politely decline to offer any additional compensation

our sincerest apologies for the dissatisfaction regarding the clients move experienceWe make every effort to inform the client of all our terms and conditions, including delivery spreads and coverage optionsWe emailed a
confirmation letter containing all of this information and the client signed and returned the document, acknowledgment their agreement and understanding of the content withinThe client was given a zero deductible coverage option, which the client waivedDuring transportation, we understand that damage is possible despite our many efforts to prevent it and this is the very reason why relocation insurance is importantUnfortunately, client opted for a coverage level that requires a deductible in case of damage rather than opting for the zero deductible optionThe client has made an insurance claim for the damage and compensation for the damage has been offered to the client according to their elected coverageEZ Movers regrets the client’s dissatisfaction with the move

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:EZ Movers has failed to adequately respond to my claim regarding the items which were destroyed in their possessionIn the previous response they did not address the fact that the items destroyed were the ones which their employees packedMy items appeared to have been kicked like a football and I have the photographic evidence and it was acknowledged by their delivery personI understand that things get damaged but if you see the evidence that I had this is more than damage and does not negate the fact that when entering a contract we have reason to believe that adequate care and precaution will be taken when transferring furniture and other articlesI would advise EZ Movers to consider my side of the story but I have been unable to reach their claims department without being spoken down to and I have the emails to release showing thisMy goal is to have EZ Movers honor their contract and compensate my appropriately for the items they destroyed
Sincerely,

Customer used E-Z Movers for a long distance move for a pion 09/28/and a delivery of 10/11/
Everything up to the delivery portion of the move went very smoothly and the customer did not have any issues with the move
At the time of delivery the customer
contacted the office stating that there some things in a closet that she did not wish for the movers to move, she was going to move the items herselfThese items were not on the inventory list as a part of the move
Customer informed our manager *** that these items were stole by our moversAt this time she was informed that she will have to file a presentation of loss form in order to file a claim for missing/stolen items
The driver from this particular job was interviewed that same day regarding this matterHe stated he did not move or touch any items he was not instructed to move by the customer and the moving truck was inspected after the move to make sure nothing was left behind from the customers shipmentThe truck is inspected by E-Z Movers personnel
As of today the customer DID NOT file or submit any claims and has not contacted the office since the claimed situation occurred
I have contacted the customer via email requesting that she fills out a claim form in order for me to look into this matter in more detailson 10/29/
Thank you

Case# XXXXXXXX
Ms*** used E-Z Movers to move locally on 04/22/
At the time of scheduling/booking the move the customer is sent a confirmation letter via email, this gives the customer a chance to go over all terms and
conditions of the move before the actual move date
Before the actual move date and during the move, the customers has options to choose from for the liability coverage
Basic liability coverage of $per pound/per article
Our Full Value Protection plan
A third party insurance company of the customer's choice
Ms*** decided to go with the basic liability coverage of $per pound/per article and the confirmation letter was signed via email on 03/20/
The storage cost for customers is $per cubic footMs*** had one month of free storage that ended as of 12/12/
We stored cubic feet of items for Ms*** which would have a charge of $a month for storageCustomer signed a storage contract stating she is to pay $a monthAs a good faith gesture we have lowered her monthly charge to $
11/11/- 12/11/- FREE storage
12/11/- 12/31/- $
01/01/- 12/31/- $x = $2,
01/01/- 04/30/- $x = $
Total for storage stay = $2,
Total customer paid = $2,
Customer did not over pay for storage and all storage fees were charges correctly
When the movers arrived at the delivery location on 04/22/and the customer did not have any complaints or issues with the move at that time
It is required to notated anything that is damaged and/or missing on the bill of lading or the inventory pages(All signed documents are attached and highlighted as needed)
Ms*** filed a damage claim on 05/08/claiming she had a damaged desk and mattressNothing was notated on the bill of lading or the moving documents as required
As a good faith gesture E-Z Movers made Ms*** a compensation offer in the amount of $(based on the weight she had provided us with)
Desk - lbsx $= $
Mattress - lbsx $= $
Total = $
Ms*** accepted the offer and signed a release acknowledging/agreeing that she satisfied with the claim resolution and there will be no further complaint filed with anyone else
On 07/15/a check in the amount of $was sent to the customer via postal mail(Please see attached)
Customer filed a damage claim that was resolved with customer signatures attesting to all of the information I just provided you with

THIEVES!!!! These guys are all crooksThey are slimy liarsI had to pay over $from the price they originally quotedThen they were a week late on deliveryImportantly, I am missing items and boxes, yes BOXES, from the moveIncluding a jewelry box with family heirloom and many other high tickets itemsTheir compensation offer was $for $worth of items stolen not including the furniture they damaged during the moveI JUST FILED A POLICE REPORTBeware movers!!!!!!!

I apologize for the client’s dissatisfaction with EZ MoversWe do everything we can to make the entire move process as transparent as possibleThe policy regarding required notations of damage is not an EZ movers policy, but an industry standard policyThis policy is disclosed on page of the
publication, "Your rights and responsibilities when you move", which the client is a given an electronic link to download via email (sent to ***@gmail.com on May 3, and a physical copy provided on the day of the pickup)Page states, "...After the complete shipment is unloaded, the mover will request that you sign the movers copy of the inventory to show that you received the items listedDo not sign until you have assured yourself that it is accurate and that the proper notations have been entered regarding missing or damaged items"While all reasonable efforts are made to prevent damage, sometimes damage does occur and in those cases EZ Movers issues compensation in accordance with the contractual agreementIn this case, a compensation offer was extended based on the weight of the claimed items at $per lb, which is the clients elected coverage, in the amount of $regarding the help hired from Craig’s list; it is common practice to hire additional labor as it is required for clients moving from one state to anotherIt is unreasonable to assume we can pack multiple movers into a truck traveling long distance for weeks at a timeFor this reason, EZ Movers hires additional labor ONLY when necessary.EZ Movers must politely decline to increase or reconsider the offer madeWe maintain our stance in this matter as previously stated, with the compensation offer of $

I apologize for your negative experience with Ez moversWe take every precaution to help prevent damage, however, despite our efforts some damage still does occur during the transportation processWe offer several coverage options in case of damage; The client is offered a full value protection
plan available for purchase on the day of the move, the ability to purchase additional coverage through an insurance carrier of your choice prior to the move, coverage through a moving insurance carrier such as movinginsurance.com, or the standard limited liability protection offered free of chargeIn this instance, the client elected the standard limited liability protection which releases the shipment based on weight and not valueThe coverage selected by the client in this case releases the shipment at $per lbper itemThe compensation offered for the damage claim is based on the contractual agreement and clients elected coverageWe must politely decline to offer any additional compensation

I have used this company for the past years and all previous moves were great They were on time and on estimate, which all were local moves My last move that was on 9/9/16, a long distance move to Florida was HORRIBLE!!!! They picked up my furniture on 9/9/and was given an estimate for $1700, after they were finished my estimate went to $ I contacted Maryam my moving specialist and to no surprise she didn't answer Left numerous messages and no call back I then spoke with Steve the Office manager and he advised me that since one item was different than my listing they had the right to recalculate it
On Monday 9/11/I arrived in Florida and contacted Ez Movers back to check the status of my order as I was told by Maryam that it would by my first available delivery date of 9/14/ To no surprise another LIE! This is the date Steve informed me was the date they would begin to drive to Florida
As of Friday 9/16/my furniture is still in IL and I'm in Florida paying for a hotel to be able to not sleep in the floor I have asked to talk with the owner Eric and was informed that he doesn't interact with clients
I would never recommend this company to ANYONE They will lie to you and provide you misleading information to get you to use their services, then once they have your goods they will take their sweet time to deliver it to you
Hopefully sometime by the 27th of September I will have my furniture and clothes hopefully undamaged

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The driver assured me that signing this form does NOT mean that I am waiving my right and stating that there is no damageI asked him by signing this does that mean than no damage was there and he stated noHe assured me that he will show the pictures that he took on his phone when he is back at the office and will solve thisUnless ez-movers is trying to run a scam of a business or not training their drivers proper protocol then we have an issueThey should interview the driver and the two others workers and fix what happened
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/10/23) */
Again, we firmly maintain the denial of your claimYou can feel free to contact the American Moving and Storage Association if you would like to seek arbitrationTheir website is www.moving.org

Mr*** claim that the "truck never showed up that day" is close to accurateThe truck came as close to his residence as possible, it was discovered that there was no access for a semiSo it makes sense that Mr*** never saw the truck since couldn't gain access to his areaAs is standard practice when shuttle service is required, the driver arrived at Mr*** location, after renting a shuttle and transferring Mr***’s shipment from the semi to the smaller truck, ready to deliver but obviously asked for the additional payment to be made for the additional service requiredMr*** refused to pay for the service, and was provided with the option of having his goods delivered to a public storage facility with easier accessAt no time was Mr*** shipment held hostage, to even use that term is slanderous and a clear manipulation of the truthhe was provided multiple options on how to retrieve his shipment, but he insisted that EZ Movers provide an additional service free of charge, and that was unfortunately not an option

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2013/12/24) */
Ms***,
*** has had plenty of correspondence with you and I would be happy to scan in all emails and invoices, but I think my attachments illustrate perfectly well information about your move
The first page is the Bill
of lading where it shows that you have not been delivered and that you have not paid the balance in fullYou owe $on the Bill of lading alone provided that all payments made at the time of pickup have not been declined
The second page is your storage contract which was signed by you at your pickupYou knew from the beginning the amount of $was to be paid monthly for storage until you were at 75% of your payments for the bill of lading and ready for delivery
The third page is a screen shot of your storage account showing the contact information that we have on file for you and records that invoices were being sentWe sent previously via postal mail and thereafter we began sending via email automatically
Any auction information will be publicizedYou can contact *** if you wish to payI know that we are auctioning your goods but I am unsure of the exact date of the auction at this pointNatalia's email is ***@e-zmovers.com

Ms***,
The longer your items remain in storage, the more you oweYou have a contract with us
Your remaining balance on your Bill of lading is $
Your remaining balance in storage is $
Paying these amounts will allow you to move out of storage to *** *** ** as contracted, but you must do so before the auction process is completedWe have had plenty of correspondence with youPlease see the attached documentsYou know that you $payments monthly in advance and you have been sent invoices, emails, and auctions notices throughout your time in storage
I copied a statement that shows the dates you did make payments to usThey are very sporadic and only cover a portion of the amount owed
Your items are stored at EZ Movers and I have no problem letting you know thatThey will not be released to anyone without paymentThe shipment will be up for auction as soon as we advertise the auction and go through with proceedings
We have a lien on your goods at this time, but will release them to you if you make a payment in full of your moving balance and storage balanceIf you pay in January, in full we can of course take off $from the storage balance which does include February's bill as well
If you have any questions about how to pay, you can contact NataliaYou have been in communication with her during your time in our storage facilityIf you do not have any additional questions, please feel free to pay online here:

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It is unfortunate that my association with this company has come to hisOn 1/16/I received a certified letter dated 1/13/that was not signed by me stating several items were includedPer missive missing were: "itemized statements showing Company's claim which set forthe the sume due at the date of this Notice of Warehouseman's Lien Sale ("Notice") are annexed"; a schedule showing the names and address of persons known to claim an interestin the the Property is also annexed"The Company further requests payment in full prior to "demand date"which is what date, exactly? The only enclosure was a form for credit card informationPlease forward items and exact dates requiredI wish to get my goods from this company ASAP

Moving is not funI have back problems, and I am pregnantI needed professional movers that will get the job done quicklyI was worried that the cost would be extremely high but I was surprisedEZ Movers offered me a fair price that was extremely lower than its competitorsTheir pink trucks rolled in and the movers did their jobThey were careful with my things and I didn't have to break a sweat EZ Movers are simply the best at what they do

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
I was never given a choice of insurance and was told not to worry by the pick up moversThen was told to sign in a few places for acknowledgement of pick up, box and item count, and paymentAlso in addition there was damage to my person dining room table which was both documented on the claim and delivery slip, but doesn't appear on their offer
Sincerely,
*** ***

I'm sorry for your frustrationAs per your previous conversation with EZ Movers regarding your claim, we are willing to accept your claim according to the contractual agreement and your elected coverage based on the weight of the
items being movedWe have made a $compensation offer to satisfy the matter and that offer is still valid, should you choose to accept it

I have never in my life witnessed and experienced such a back pedaling company in my life I received an estimate from KY to LA for with as Brian said "Wiggle room" All of the sudden it changes three different times telling me "well one little box will change the price" I assure you I will discourage anyone that needs a referral for a moving company to NEVER, EVER retain this company
