[redacted] was indeed put on our Do Not Promote list.  However, it can take up to 10 weeks for all mailings to discontinue.  His membership was canceled on July, 11 2016 at his request.  He will soon stop receiving mail from us completely.   NRA Member Services

Although she did not include her son's name, we tracked it down in our system (apparently he has a different last name, at least in the records we have). Nothing indicated he was a minor, but NRA has a Junior Member category and we have tens of thousands of Junior Members and have extensive...

education and training as well as competitions programs for junior shooters, including those who compete on school teams or with the Boy Scouts, 4H, etc. Our Junior Members have gone on, as adults, to earn college scholarships and win Olympic medals, among other achievements. It is a proud tradition that is just part of our nearly century and a half of history. Nevertheless, we added the son's name and address to our internal do not promote file, as well as the mother's name (she who complained). Another name showed up as well so we added that one to our list. Of course, the First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech and association and, in America, protects certain communications. NRA is our nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization with millions of Members, but membership is purely voluntary.I trust this information proved helpful.

Tell us why hereMy original complaint stands the same. If the NRA does not want to offer a rRduced Length of Membership Renewal (less years) at Lower Cost...then I will have no choice to proceed accordingly. NRA has still Failed to live up to their original Contract.

In February of last year, we limited her husband's renewals to three per year. I had our Membership Division do the same for her membership.NRA sends renewal notices throughout the year, including in a new or renewing Member's new credential package, offering a discounted price and/or a premium for...

renewing. A Member's expiration date is printed on the membership card and also appears on the label of the monthly magazine. We are not hiding the ball and certainly are not acting in an unethical manner. For non-Life Members, one only gets voting privileges once one has five years of consecutive membership, i.e., with no break. With nearly five million Members, some need, want, or demand fewer or more notices than others. It is impossible to develop a policy that works for all. Over the years, we've found the system works best and avoids complaints concerning a loss of voting rights. Nevertheless, we implemented the method whereby renewals can be limited to three. I also had both accounts put on our "promo kill" list which should limit other mail going to them. I sincerely hope this resolves the matter. Nevertheless, if they still wish to cancel this is a voluntary membership organization. They can respond via the Revdex.com system and I will make sure the memberships are cancelled. As they have been paid for, I hope these two Members will stick with us and see the benefits of being a NRA Member and joining with other like-minded individuals in the defense of our Second Amendment rights.

I am rejecting this response because:The information provided in the response from the member services division is incorrect.  I was at a local firearms distributor and NRA had an advertisement telling people that if they bought a specific firearm, which I did that cost me over $350.00, we would receive a 1 year membership valued at $40.00 (this is the cost of the regular membership, not the associate membership they referred to in their response).  This also included a free gym bag.  I cannot understand why they would now recant and say that I am an associate member, when I have received all of the other regular member benefits (firearms insurance, magazine subscription), with the exception of the gift we were promised.

nonprofit organization, enjoys certain exemptions under the federal Do Not Call law, we do not want to bother those not wanting to be contacted nor do we wish to waste resources doing so. I apologize for any annoyance. That certainly was not the intention.

The NRA Board established the NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund to provide support to selected cases. An individual, through his attorney, must apply for review by the board. More information can be found at www.nradefensefund.org. I am not aware of any application made by [redacted] or his attorney,...

however. [redacted] does mention what he says his lawyer told him, but his lawyer is not NRA.It is unclear why he believes an individual would receive, in exchange for a $35 annual membership, the described $20,000 in benefits, including cash outlays, in addition to media coverage and a pardon. Nevertheless, NRA does offer an attorney referral service for members. It appears as if he did take advantage of that service. Such attorneys represent the individuals, not NRA, and fees are the responsibility of the individuals. Otherwise, he is seeking press. Any media are third parties. NRA cannot direct news organizations to do stories or dictate tones of stories. Individuals are free to contact the media, of course, but the media decide on what stories to run. That is not up to NRA. He also seeks a pardon. Individuals need to apply to the Governor of the applicable state, or an office that handles such applications. NRA, of course, does not issue pardons.
