 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
This states nothing you now admit you have a media group but that it's not for everyone my question is are you discriminating on me based on creed? Or race? You still didn't answer the question what makes my case different than [redacted] or [redacted] my complaint is that as you had mentioned in an earlier response I'm a "35.00" per year member at least I am a member this is funny because [redacted] had no membership but you and other gun groups supported her also I fired my prior council because Evan Nappen stated that he had the necessary connection with the NRA to shed light on my stop. I think it's funny that all you can say is see prior response when your 2 responses contradict each other. The first you say you have no media group now u do bit it's only for some members and non members just not in the 35.00 per year range I don't expect you to do anything but... negative publicity will come from this is have exposed the NRA to be exactly what they pretend to protect our rights from. I intend to contact my local media I will become a gun owners advocate against the NRA. You admit do discrimination based on creed also your unprofessional in your responses you jab at my tattoo and state that's a reason I'm in this legal mess you are a joke and unprofessional this needs to be public access to expose the NRA for not caring about the average Joe with a 35.00 membership.

I am rejecting this response because:You can send me the promotion you promised when I sent you $25 three minths ago, or you could refund my $25.  And, you could cease sending me these endless emails.  That's what you could and should do.

I have reviewed the original response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

[redacted],That is no problem.  I have mailed out a letter on official NRA Letterhead that you are no longer a member of the National Rifle Association.

[redacted].  When you originally joined for free, we sent out your membership credentials.  Sometimes, items do get lost in the mail so that is why our customer service reps were willing to reorder your credentials on just about each occasion that you contacted us.  At this point we...

have ordered and mailed to you four different sets of membership credentials.  Each were indeed processed and shipped out.  We also gave you an additional free year of membership.  So you have now received 2 years of membership at no cost to you which included your no cost insurance and your magazines (which you have acknowledged you received).  We do very much care about the members that contribute to the NRA.  We have even gone out of our way at our expense to try to accommodate a member who has not contributed anything financially.   We have given you 2 free years of membership in the NRA, and mailed out 4 sets of membership credentials at our expense.  At this point there is no further action we are willing to take, unless you are willing to contact us and pay to renew your membership.

I am rejecting this response because:Both times I called in they stated the address was not validated. Both stated they could not send mail unless the address was validated and it would automatically be rejected from being sent. Both stated they could not validate the address and it had to be done at headquarters (due to the membership being for life of duty members). Headquarters being the place where the poor customer service is met.The whole reason the membership was free to begin with is that the NRA was giving something to those who serve, because they stated it was their way of giving to those who sacrifice for them. Also a marketing method of getting more people to be a part of their organization by trying to show them it was worth them being a member. The accusation that I was a "non-contributing member" is a counter that, and a little insulting to your initial claim.I'm not a difficult person, in fact very understanding to mistakes. As long as you don't keep trying to make the customer look bad because of your mistakes. At this time, your organization made multiple mistakes. Only the headquarters location has acted poorly. I can only assume the people responding to this are in the same office.I am again requesting a call from a supervisor from headquarters, as I have numerous times before. I still don't know why the NRA is refusing to simply have a supervisor contact me. Otherwise I assume the NRA have no desire to provide customer care on the matter, but rather only focus on trying to discredit the complaint towards them. There is no reason this has to be as difficult as the NRA is making it. Regards,
[redacted]

The communicator you spoke with gave you incorrect information.  There was never an error with the system.  Each of the member packets we sent out has a ship date.  One of our member service reps even personally made a membership card and mailed to your address.

We added this phone number to our internal do not call list. Forgive me if you, or this individual, thinks we are splitting hairs but we do have an e-mail from him in January asking to be put on the do not promote list. That is an internal term we use to limit mail that goes out to members. It...

limits renewal notices for those who are not life members and limits other non-renewal mail. It does not affect any phone calls. We do show several calls made, but all were coded as incomplete, e.g., going to voice mail. We do not show a previous request to add the number to the do not call list. We maintain such a list and have no problem adding numbers to it. We did in response to this complaint. I apologize for any annoyance to this member's household. Although NRA, as a tax-exempt 501(c)(4) organization enjoys certain exemptions under the federal do not call law and the various state laws, we certainly do not want to bother those not wanting to be contacted nor do we wish to waste resources doing so.Internally, if we get a request to be added to the do not promote list, it carries a certain meaning. We've been doing that, and using that term, long before any of these do not call laws went into effect.I hope this information proved helpful.

[redacted],Thank you for contacting us.  The e-mail reply you received was correct in that our Bylaws require a physical letter requesting cancelation of membership.  However, we will consider this contact through the Revdex.com as your official request for your Life Membership to be...

canceled.  Please allow 3-5 weeks for all mailings from the National Rifle Association to completely stop.  Thank you once again.

Well, it appears that the NRA is now asking the Revdex.com to excuse them from providing membership services, respond to enquiries, and uphold its core precepts? The NRA has a reputation for being "proactive" in protecting member rights. The NRA's previous response indicates: "This is the first complaint the NRA has received regarding this company." I'm not sure what the litmus test is for the NRA, how many cases of infringement a company has to commit, before it warrants an investigation. Since the NRA didn't respond to any of my inquiries, how could I expect to "believe" that the NRA has not received any other complaints? The NRA considers "infringement" a benefit at a 5% discount?
The respondent indicated: "I am sure others would complain if the discount was stopped." Who is: I am sure? Since the individual is speaking for 5,000,000 members this "assumption" should have a name attached to it. The NRA is ENDORSING the merchant. There is nothing stopping the merchant from offering the discount. But, the NRA certainly can stop endorsing the merchant by including it in their merchant discount listing. How many more members would complain if they knew the merchant was infringing upon their rights, with the NRA's knowledge, while accepting contributions based on sales volume? The members could decide patronage if the NRA wasn't actively engaged in sweeping this under the rug.
NRA ardently defends any type of prohibition, registration, or restriction that relates to infringement of 2nd amendment rights and spends millions $ in the process. But, now it claims it has "no" influence over a company who allies itself to the detriment of members of the NRA.
If the NRA will not take the lead on this, they will not only be losing 1 member. The life membership legacy will not be passed down to my three sons. It is still my responsibility to raise awareness with my fellow members about the vendor and NRA's failure, if not violation as I did in a previous forum:
NRA - Sleeping with the Enemy?
2nd generation life member (retired military) disillusioned with the NRA. One of their endorsed merchants, [redacted] subjected me to invasive questioning over an order I placed for innocuous items like optics and a Mini-14 scope mount. I requested the order be shipped to my neighbor across the road in rural [redacted] as he is home when [redacted] comes around. I was subjected to (2) rounds of questioning by [redacted]: what are these items intended for, what is your relationship with ....., etc. I finally cried foul when [redacted] required me to complete a federal form which would be kept on file. When I refused to comply [redacted] canceled my order. I informed the NRA that keeping a record of gun accessories could easily be equated to gun ownership. Further, that federal regulation (ITAR) does not apply to domestic sales. I asked them to investigate and told them I didn't appreciate the NRA endorsing a merchant whose policies contradicted NRA core principles. After (5) emails and 2 phone calls the NRA didn't grace me with anything more than an auto generated response. My opinion: the NRA is more concerned about fueling their business with contributions from low threat violators than to actually preserve individual rights. If you do some research on salaries, this thought might not be so shocking. The "association" has become big business. Since NRA wouldn't respond to me, I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com. Am I the only one that thinks the NRA has an obligation to respond to such an inquiry? I think the least I should do is spread the work about [redacted]. My rights are more valuable to me than the 5% NRA discount offered by the merchant.
If the NRA is not willing to support members by maintaining their covenant. I will accept the return of any and all dues paid to the NRA to date in exchange for the termination of my lifetime membership. I will be maintaining copies of all my correspondence with the NRA to be made available to anyone concerned with 2nd amendment rights and/or the NRA's motives.

A copy of the ad is attached. The piece on the front cover can, per the instructions, be pulled back. Both on the back of that and in the full page with the text it clearly states, "Visit or call today to see the discounts and gifts we've reserved for YOU!" It also states to "Renew or upgrade your...

membership now to take advantage of these special savings, and to receive a commemorative NRA gift in honor of your support." It is not clear what is misleading as the member's daughter did contact us and was told what gift(s) go with what level of membership. Everyone was treated the same, just as she asks for in the complaint. Dues for membership are about to increase and we wanted to give current members the opportunity to renew before the prices go up. Obviously, if a person buys a higher level of membership, that costs more money, the premium attached to that is better. Nevertheless, as stated in the ad, twice, she called and was told what premium item was available, just as the ad states. I apologize for any confusion but the ad is clear, and not deceptive ... and certainly not fraudulent. I hope this information proved helpful.

I apologize for the delay in the delivery of your duffel bag.  This promotion was more popular than was anticipated.  As a result, the duffel bags were heavily backordered.  As a not-for-profit organization we do not keep these items readily in stock.  After receiving a certain...

amount of orders we then place a large order with our vendor.  This keeps us from potentially having too much inventory of something that nobody ends up wanting.  This also helps us save money in order to use these funds to support and defend the 2nd Amendment.  However, I absolutely understand your frustration with the amount of time you've waited for your duffel bag.  It is still on backorder, but as a thank you for your support and patience I have extended your NRA membership an additional 6 months at no additional cost to you.
