Mr. [redacted] brought his vehicle into our shop on 01/09/2018, for transmission repairs. Upon on inspection we notice heavy metal gear in the transmission. We also notice the wheels on the vehicle were not stock wheels, the rear wheels were larger than the front, made to look like a hot rod car....

The front tires had thread, however, the rear tires were smooth and there were build up of tire debris on the back bumper. When this happens its because the vehicle is been used for race and burn outs. We spoke to Mr. [redacted] and his father several times regarding his transmission repair. We at FREE MILES TRANSMISSION  pride ourselves on being professional, we do NOT use our customers are for personal joy rides or take them out of shop unless its for a road test which we only go around ONE block a few times here on [redacted] in Richmond to ensure the vehicle is repaired.  Mr. [redacted] stated someone he trusted saw his car in Colonial Heights I can assure that person is not to be trusted. Mr. [redacted] is a young man who enjoys his car as he should but it should not be at someone else expense.

First of all I have all the phone calls recoded. Including the last one when he theathen me that he will get a tag and sell my car. I have the right to tell him that I will go to business Bureau of he does not want to treat me appropriately as a customer. He threat was unprofessional and I have it recorded. My argument was I suppose not to pay the full labor amount if I refused the work to be done on my car over a hight estimate. Also Tony specifically said towing is free and never disclose that it is only if I accept to have my car fixed. The solution I am looking for is to provide me with a more logical bill to get my car back. I am willing to pay for the towing to bring my car home. Keep the transmission open and please dont put it back like I stated over the phone. In addition I don't see it is fair to pay the full labor amount for no work that has been done. In a mormal sitiation I I'll be willing to pay $200  for the service of providing me an estimate. But because the owner treathen me and was not polite to me as customer and said that he would get the tags and sell my car, I owe an apology for that and want my car back without paying any estimate service fee. I can provide the recored phone call if needed so I am positive where I currently stand.Thank you

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the letter sent to you by Free Miles Transmission and Auto, while I agree to close my complaint against them I do not agree with their deceitful practice of quoting you one price and then charging you over twice the amount quoted and if you chose not to have the work done charging you 600.00 just to get your car back. I feel they were not up front and honest. I just hope they are more honest when it comes to standing by the warranty on the work they have done to my car.

Revdex.com spoke with a representative of the company who stated that the car was not running when it was brought in, and when the work was finished, the customer drove it home so it is not in the same condition it was in before. He stated the the customer had called and said he was still having issues and...

was told to bring the car back in, which he has not done. The business stated that the work they performed is under warranty, and if the customer is having issues with the same parts, they can take care of those issues for him but he needs to bring the car back so they can find out what is going wrong.

Revdex.com Case #[redacted]
[redacted] brought his [redacted] in here to us with internal transmissions problems that were
confirmed after diagnostic testing. Our advertisement is as stated, for "soft parts" overhaul. It
was explained to the...

customer that once we are inside the transmission and see the extent of the
damage, we would call with a better idea of what is going on. We did find that there were "hard
parts" that needed to be replaced inside of the transmission that were not a part of the original
quote, because we did not know until we got inside the unit. These "hard parts" entailed, valve
body, forward drum, torque converter and a solenoid pack. The customer agreed to the repairs
and they were completed and the vehicle was returned to him. Upon delivery of the vehicle we
recommended to the customer that he get his motor mounts replaced as well as an engine
misfire problem, as it is causing a shake in the engine. The customer then returned with some
issues regarding the speedometer. At that time the speed sensor had come unplugged. This was
due to the shaking of the engine. We plugged the speed sensor back in and the speedometer
was working properly. Just last week, on May 29 the customer brought the car back in with
whining sounds that he thought was coming from the transmission. The shaking problem with
the engine misfire and the motor mounts had been fixed and he wasn't experiencing any further
problems. After diagnosing the sound, and concluding that it is coming from a bad wheel
bearing and not the transmission repair that we completed, the customer picked the car back up
happy and relieved and said he would get it taken care of. We explained that if there is ever any
problem he encounters to please bring the car back to us and we will take care of him. The car is
fixed properly and all other issues have been taken care of.
Sincerely,

He brought the vehicle in and Free Miles Transmission took it apart, tried to align it, and put it back together. They found that the clutch rod was shifting into the transmission, and could not be repaired because once it was put back into place, it would come out of place again. The manager of the business stated that he gave that diagnosis to the customer, and said that if the customer would provide the transmission, he would do the labor for free. The customer was not satisfied with that response. The manager stated that the reason for the delays were the period right after the holiday season, and the period of snowstorms caused them to not be able to open. He stated that he gave the diagnosis to the customer in March, and since then has been at a standstill because the customer does not want to pay to have a new transmission, and won't authorize the business to buy parts to fix the vehicle. Revdex.com spoke with the manager of Free Miles Transmission who said that the work had been completed and the customer picked up the vehicle several weeks ago and hasn't heard anything from her since and is not aware of any further issues with the vehicle.

[redacted] brought his vehicle to us with an internal transmission problem. It was explained
to him if the repair only consisted of "soft parts" inside the transmission the repair would cost a
total of $950.00, but if there was more damage to his "hard parts" then it...

would be more and we
would know that once we had the transmission tom down on our bench. The customer
authorized the tear down and we proceeded. Upon getting inside the transmission, we noticed
that more work was needed in order to repair the transmission. This included hard parts. We
called the customer with the quote to fix his vehicle and the repair was authorized. His vehicle
was completed by the end of the following day. The customer paid a portion of the bill and the
vehicle stayed on our property for two weeks, with no storage fees applied, while he came up
with the other portion. He picked his car up two weeks later and after four days he did incure a
problem. He then brought it back to our [redacted] location, which is under going some
electrical work at the moment. We towed his vehicle to our [redacted] location where the
repairs where made and covered by the 3 year, 100,000 mile warranty he was provided. The
truck was towed back to our [redacted] location where some other repairs had to be
completed and the truck is being delivered back to the customer on Monday, June 20,2014.
