Free Miles Transmission and Auto Care Reviews (64)

Wow. As a business owner myself. I've never seen a place business operate like this. I HAD TO TAKE THEM TO COURT TO GET MY TRUCK BACK. They claimed to have done all this work to my truck. They only removed the codes from the computer and simply added some fluid. The TRUCK Broke Down Not 5 MILES From There Place Of business. Simply to say I'm very disappointed in the so call service I received

MS. [redacted] CONTACTED FREE MILES TRANSMISSION IN OCTOBER INQUIRING ABOUT THE COST TO FIX HER TRANSMISSION IN HER 2007 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. SHE STATED THAT HER TRANSMISSION IS BAD. SHE SPOKE TO MYSELF TONY A[redacted] ABOUT HER SITUATION. I EXPLAIN TO HER THAT THE FIRST THING WE NEED TO DO IS...

CHECK THE VEHICLE OUT AND CONFIRM IF HER TRANSMISSION IS BAD. SHE THEN SAID I KNOW MY TRANSMISSION IS BAD. I EXPLAIN IF THAT WAS THE CASE THE LABOR CHARGE IS $[redacted]. PLUS PARTS. AND JUST BY YOU TELL ME OVER PHONE YOUR TRANSMISSION IS BAD I CANNOT TELL YOU WHICH PARTS ARE DAMAGE BUT TO REBUILD A TRANSMISSION WE NEED TO PURCHASE A REBUILD KIT WHICH COST $[redacted]. SO THE KIT AND LABOR CAN RUN ABOUT $[redacted] AND IF YOU NEED ANY ADDITIONAL PARTS IT WILL BE ADDITIONAL. I ALSO EXPLAIN TO HER OUR PROCEDURE THAT WE WILL TOW HER VEHICLE WITH NO UP FRONT CHARGE AND IF SHE HAS THE WORK DONE WITH US THE TOWING IS FREE AND IF SHE CHOOSES NOT TO HAVE THE WORK DONE SHE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TOWING. ONCE WE GET THE VEHICLE HERE WE CHECK THE VEHICLE AND CONFIRM IF THE TRANSMISSION IS BAD. WHICH IS A FREE CHECK. SHE AGREE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED AND STRESS THAT SHE DOESN'T HAVE THE MONEY OR WANT TO PUT A LOT OF MONEY INTO THIS VEHICLE. AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOP THE VEHICLE DIDN'T MOVE FORWARD IT HAD REVERSE. WE WASN'T ABLE TO ROAD TEST THE VEHICLE. I RELATE OUR FINDING WITH MS. [redacted] AND TOLD HER THAT WE NEED TO TAKE THE TRANSMISSION OUT AND INSPECT IT TO SEE WHICH PARTS FAIL AND HOW MUCH IT WILL COST TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION. AND THE LABOR CHARGE IS $[redacted] PLUS PARTS AND ONCE WE KNOW EXACTLY WHICH PARTS FAIL. WE CAN GIVE YOU A FINAL TOTAL. ONCE AGAIN SHE SAID SHE DID NOT WANT TO PUT A LOT OF MONEY IN THIS VEHICLE. I TOLD HER WE WILL ONLY FOCUS ON THE TRANSMISSION AND I WILL TRY TO KEEP THE COST AS LOW AS POSSIBLE. SHE AUTHORIZE US TO REMOVE AND INSPECT THE TRANSMISSION USING HER DATE OF BIRTH [redacted] AFTER PULL THE TRANSMISSION WE SEE THE PARTS THAT FAIL IT NEEDED A REBUILD KIT, PLANTERY GEARS,TORQUE CONVERTER, SOLENOIDS, AND FLUID AND FILTER THIS JOB WOULD COST ABOUT $[redacted]. I TRY MY BEST TO KEEP THE PRICE LOW AS POSSIBLE TO HELP MS. [redacted] OUT I WAS ABLE TO GET THE PRICE DOWN TO $[redacted] INCLUDE PARTS, LABOR, FLUIDS, TAX. SHE AUTHORIZE US TO GO AHEAD AND FIX THE VEHICLE USING THE LAST 4 DIGIT OF HER SOCIAL SECURITY NO. [redacted]. SHE ALSO APPLIED FOR FINANCING WAS APPROVE FOR $[redacted] WHICH SHE USED AND PAY THE BALANCE. MS. [redacted] PICK UP THE VEHICLE ON 10/19/17 AND WAS ASK TO RETURN IN TWO WEEKS FOR A FREE CHECK UP TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS OK ON THE TRANSMISSION. TWO OR THREE WEEKS LATER SHE CONTACT US AND SAID SHE WILL BE BRING THE VEHICLE BACK FOR THE CHECK AND WANT US TO CHECK THE REST OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT FELT FUN. WE TOLD HER TO BRING IT IN. AFTER CHECKING THE VEHICLE THE TRANSMISSION WORK GREAT NO LEAKS FLUID WAS GOOD. HOW EVER THE ENGINE WASN'T RUNNING ITS BEST. THE ENGINE WAS LOW ON OIL. THE ENGINE HAVEN'T HAD A TUNE UP THE SPARK PLUGS WHERE OLD AND DIRTY THE AIR FILTER WAS CLOG UP AND ONE OF THE VACUUM LINE WAS DRY ROTTED. ALL REASON WHY THE ENGINE WILL NOT RUN RIGHT. THIS PARTS ARE PART OF MAINTENANCE AND NEED TO BE CHANGE ON A REGULAR BASE. BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T WANT TO PUT MONEY IN THE VEHICLE SHE NEGLECT THE MAINTENANCE. HOWEVER WE REPLACE THIS PARTS FOR HER AND DIDN'T CHARGE HER LABOR FOR DOING SO. THIS IS A SEPARATE REPAIR FROM THE TRANSMISSION AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHARGED. WE ONLY CHARGE FRO THE PARTS WHICH SHE DIDN'T EVEN PAY THE FULL BILL SHE HAVE A BALANCE AND SAID SHE NEED A WEEK OR SO TO PAY IT. WE LET HER HAVE THE VEHICLE BACK AND SHE HASN'T RETURN TO FREE MILE SINCE. WE DID FIX HER TRANSMISSION AND IT HAS A 12 MONTHS OR [redacted] MILES WARRANTY AND IF THE TRANSMISSION HAS A PROBLEM WE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT UNDER WARRANTY. IF THE VEHICLE HAS OTHER PROBLEM THE CUSTOMER WILL NEED TO ADDRESS THESE ISSUE.THE VEHICLE IS ** YEARS OLD WITH [redacted] MILEAGE NOW IS WHEN OTHER PARTS WILL START GOING OUT. AND PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE LIKE OIL CHANGE, TUNE UP, BRAKES, TIRES, REPLACE FILTER ARE FOR THE CUSTOMER TO REPLACE PERIODICALLY TO KEEP THEIR VEHICLE RUNNING GOOD. MS. [redacted] STATE HER STEERING WENT OUT AND LEAK THE FLUID THIS IS NOT PART OF THE TRANSMISSION SHE PAID $[redacted] FOR  A REBUILD TRANSMISSION NOT THE ENTIRE VEHICLE SHE DON'T WANT TO PUT MONEY INTO HER VEHICLE FOR PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE WHICH IS THERE TO CHANGE FLUIDS AND OTHER PARTS TO PREVENT VEHICLE FROM HAVING DIFFERENT ISSUES. IF THE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY MAINTAIN SOME OF THESE ISSUE CAN BE STOP BEFORE IT GET WORSE AND LEAVE HER STRANDED. WE DO STAND BEHIND OUR WORK IF SHE HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION WE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT.

Revdex.com spoke to a representative from the business who said he was not familiar with the customer since it's been several months. He said that if the customer's parts are still under warranty he is welcome to bring his vehicle back for repair. He said that he is not aware of any current issues with the...

vehicle and is therefore not able to address those current issues.

Revdex.com spoke with the manager of the business, Tony. He said that the customer had called about an issue with his vehicle, and it was not operational so Free Miles had it towed in. The business offers free towing with service, but if the service is not performed at their business, the customer...

would be responsible for the towing. The issue was found to be the transmission, and diagnosed as $1,095 for parts and labor, but customer was advised that once the transmission breakdown was done, other issues may be found. Once the transmission breakdown occurred, other issues were found, and the customer was given an updated quote of about $2800. The customer said that this price was too much and he didn't want to invest that much in the vehicle. The manager said that in an effort to bring the price down, they offered to do re-manufactured parts rather than new parts, which would bring the price down to a little over 2200, but would shorten the warranty from 3 to 1 years due to remanufactured parts. The customer was not satisfied with either of these options, and said that he was going to leave the car there and threatened the business with a law suit. The manager states that he has not heard from the customer since then. The manager said that if the customer does not want to have the work done there, he would be responsible for the towing of the vehicle per their policy, and that he would also be responsible for the labor required to perform the breakdown of the transmission, all of which would come out to about $720. The vehicle is still at the business taken apart, and at this point the customer is responsible to pay the fees and have it removed.

Review: I sent my vehicle to Free Miles Transmission in April to have my transmission rebuild. It's been two months now and my vehicle is not fixed. I already paid them in full close to five thousand dollars. They said they fixed the transmission and fixed the wiring. But I don't believe that. They been sending my vehicle to [redacted] multiple times. And now I call them today June 14 they saying they did more damages to my transmission so they have to start ALL OVER AGAIN. I'm a single mother of two children and I'm really suffering right now because of this issue. I'm at the point I want my vehicle back and my money. Plus additional money for pain and suffering.Desired Settlement: I want my money back! The first money I pay them was $695.00 and $3,520.00. I want that back in full plus 3,000 for pain and suffering wages

Review: In June 2014 my son graduated high school. End of August his father sent him money to buy his first car. He purchased a [redacted] from a private individual. After 1 month the transmission went bad in the car and the above mentioned shop which advertises Free Towing , was contacted to pick up the car and give a a diagnosis.According to their ad it states Free Towing to our facility and rebuilding of transmissions from $195 to $595 part parts. First diagnosis stated that the car would be around $600 to repair. My son worked a part time job and I, as a single parent were going to have to pool are resources together to pay for that, however only a few days later they contacted us stating it would be $2290. Although we could purchase another car for that amount the car had sentimental value and it was his so we wanted it back. We began to make payment on it. Initialy we deal with a guy name Tony who constantly threatened us with storage fee, stating that the car was fixed and need to be paid for. On several ocassions I spoke with him begging him to give us more time at which time we sometimes used our grocery money to give him significant payments to avoid having to pay storage. My son tried to pay $40 some weeks to only be told that the payments needed to be more significant. They tried to get us to go get a title loan to pay the remaining balance on several occassions. Two weeks ago after having his car for over 7 months , and after my son took a second part time job. He made the final payment. I call and advised them that the final payment was being made and was then told the car wasn't ready. Everyday for two weeks I be given different stories and excuses as to why the car isnt ready. We were never allow to speak with the manager or have his phone number. After a trip to the shop and finding out that the car was never moved, I contacted Channel 12 news and was interviewed regarding the situation. As of today we are being told it will be done on Friday May22,2015.Desired Settlement: My initial settlement would be access to the car to have it towed to another shop and the money back. If the car is fixed by the 22nd of May I will be okay with a partial refund. My greatest satisfaction is making everyone aware of this very shady business and their business practices.

Response:

The company spoke with Revdex.com over the phone and provided the following information: Free Miles Transmission had the vehicle towed to their shop, as it was not moving when they received it. They explained to the customer that they would have to take apart the transmission to determine what was wrong with it, and that it would be $595 to take it apart and diagnose the issues. They did take it apart and found that the transmission was bad, and said that the price to rebuild the transmission would be $2600, and that price would include the $595 diagnosis. The son and mother said that the son was a student and was only working part time, and couldn't afford to have the work done, but they didn't want to part with the vehicle since he had purchased it himself and put money into it, and it was his first car. The business gave him a break on the price to be $2290 total. The business stated that they work with several financing companies, and tried to work with them on financing. Neither the mother nor the son were approved for financing. The business suggested a title loan, if they had a title, which turned out not to be a good option for them. At that point, they could've paid the $595 and not had further work done to the vehicle, but the son really wanted to keep it, so they decided to proceed. The business set up a payment plan with them, and they paid small amounts periodically, which took them 7 months to pay the entire vehicle off. The transmission had been rebuilt, but not installed until the work had been paid off entirely. When they did finish making the payments and wanted to take possession of the vehicle, the business had the car worked into the schedule, and had the transmission installed and the vehicle ready within 5 days. The customers took possession of the vehicle within 5 days of paying it off, and he has not had contact with them since.

Review: I had been working on my car replacing a clutch, as my clutch was starting to show signs of wear being the original clutch in a [redacted]. When I was putting everything back together the shifting rod pushed out of synchronicity and into the transaxle housing. Upon the inspection and recommendation of my uncle (a mechanic) , and not feeling comfortable with taking apart the transaxle myself I called Free Mile- Auto and Transmission Care to get them to work on my car. They came, towed my car to their shop a few days after Christmas and told me that they would have my car fixed and back to me by the first week on January. When the first week of January came and went without any word from them I called only to be told that they were really busy and that they got backed up, but would have my car done the next week. Week after week went by and each with a new excuse about either being backed up, the snow interfering, or not having enough workers come in. And each new excuse came with a new promise that they would finish my car and get it back to me. Finally March came and when I called frustrated and wondering when my car would be done, Tony, the general manager of the location, and the owners brother, told me that I only had two options and that my transmission had severe wear. I could either get a new transmission and have them install it for around 2,500, or let them rebuild my transmission for 1,700. Feeling that something was wrong, I went to the shop where my car was and went straight to the back and talked with the mechanic who was working on my transmission, who told me that there was a little wear but nothing abnormal for a car with 120,000 miles on it, and that the only thing that really needed to be done was put the shifting rod back in place and put a new seal on it. Since then and getting caught in his lies the owner told me they would fix everything and put it back together for $870 and have it to me in a week. They still have not fixed yet.Desired Settlement: Being that I have been lied to and have been forced to borrow my disabled father's vehicle for an extended amount of time and as he needs it back and I don't have the time to take the vehicle somewhere else I want Free Mile to finish the job correctly and at no cost for the extreme inconvenience they have caused both my father and I.

Revdex.com spoke to the manager at Frees Miles Transmission who provided the following response by phone: Customer called in and inquired about having work done to the transmission. The customer made them aware that he had been working on the transmission previously, and had hammered in the transmission when he was putting it back into the vehicle. He brought the vehicle in and Free Miles Transmission took it apart, tried to align it, and put it back together. They found that the clutch rod was shifting into the transmission, and could not be repaired because once it was put back into place, it would come out of place again. Due to the hammering of the transmission, it could not be repaired. The manager of the business stated that he gave that diagnosis to the customer, and said that if the customer would provide the transmission, he would do the labor for free. The customer was not satisfied with that response. The manager stated that the reason for the delays were the period right after the holiday season, and the period of snowstorms caused them to not be able to open. He stated that he gave the diagnosis to the customer in March, and since then has been at a standstill because the customer does not want to pay to have a new transmission, and won't authorize the business to buy parts to fix the vehicle. The business stated that the customer has not paid anything at this point, including the time spent diagnosing the issue and taking the transmission apart, aligning it, and putting it back together, and he is welcome to either pick the car up, or accept the business's initial offer.

Revdex.com Case #[redacted] brought his [redacted] in here to us with internal transmissions problems that were

confirmed after diagnostic testing. Our advertisement is as stated, for "soft parts" overhaul. It

was explained to the customer that once we are inside the transmission and see the extent of the

damage, we would call with a better idea of what is going on. We did find that there were "hard

parts" that needed to be replaced inside of the transmission that were not a part of the original

quote, because we did not know until we got inside the unit. These "hard parts" entailed, valve

body, forward drum, torque converter and a solenoid pack. The customer agreed to the repairs

and they were completed and the vehicle was returned to him. Upon delivery of the vehicle we

recommended to the customer that he get his motor mounts replaced as well as an engine

misfire problem, as it is causing a shake in the engine. The customer then returned with some

issues regarding the speedometer. At that time the speed sensor had come unplugged. This was

due to the shaking of the engine. We plugged the speed sensor back in and the speedometer

was working properly. Just last week, on May 29 the customer brought the car back in with

whining sounds that he thought was coming from the transmission. The shaking problem with

the engine misfire and the motor mounts had been fixed and he wasn't experiencing any further

problems. After diagnosing the sound, and concluding that it is coming from a bad wheel

bearing and not the transmission repair that we completed, the customer picked the car back up

happy and relieved and said he would get it taken care of. We explained that if there is ever any

problem he encounters to please bring the car back to us and we will take care of him. The car is

fixed properly and all other issues have been taken care of.

Sincerely,

Review: Pay $3533.00 for transmission repair, did not last for 80 miles and one week fail with the same problem, the city of Richmond condemn the building [redacted] transmission repair, they say they can repair for $900, after they got my truck, The honer call me with the total of $3530.00 in repair, after two weeks of the repair, the truck fail again, the vehicle is under the guaranty and they can't repair because, the city of Richmond condemn the shop, my truck is there and I all ready pay the billDesired Settlement: take the truck to a serious and professional shop and bill Free Miles Transmission & Auto Care for the repair because they can cover the 3 years or 100.000 miles guaranty the sign in my bill

Business

Response:

[redacted] brought his vehicle to us with an internal transmission problem. It was explained

to him if the repair only consisted of "soft parts" inside the transmission the repair would cost a

total of $950.00, but if there was more damage to his "hard parts" then it would be more and we

would know that once we had the transmission tom down on our bench. The customer

authorized the tear down and we proceeded. Upon getting inside the transmission, we noticed

that more work was needed in order to repair the transmission. This included hard parts. We

called the customer with the quote to fix his vehicle and the repair was authorized. His vehicle

was completed by the end of the following day. The customer paid a portion of the bill and the

vehicle stayed on our property for two weeks, with no storage fees applied, while he came up

with the other portion. He picked his car up two weeks later and after four days he did incure a

problem. He then brought it back to our [redacted] location, which is under going some

electrical work at the moment. We towed his vehicle to our [redacted] location where the

repairs where made and covered by the 3 year, 100,000 mile warranty he was provided. The

truck was towed back to our [redacted] location where some other repairs had to be

completed and the truck is being delivered back to the customer on Monday, June 20,2014.

Review: Company advertised no credit check financing, agreed to finance partial payment for transmission work. We I went to pick up car with particle payment, I was told can't finance you, bad credit, go get a title loan. They wanted whole payment now or no car.Desired Settlement: Want them reported for their scams and dishonesty, so no one else finds their self in our position.

Review: I Paid 2.500.00 to get my [redacted] transmission changed but the mechanic did not do a proper job.am still having the same problem I had before I took the car to the mechanic and the company has not been able to fix the transmission and wont refund my money back to me.I tried to resolve the issue in a civil manner but to no avail.Desired Settlement: I Want a refund of 2.500.00 so I take my car to somewhere to get it fixed because it seems this company are incompetent enough to fix my transmission problem.

Response:

Revdex.com spoke with a representative of the company who stated that the car was not running when it was brought in, and when the work was finished, the customer drove it home so it is not in the same condition it was in before. He stated the the customer had called and said he was still having issues and was told to bring the car back in, which he has not done. The business stated that the work they performed is under warranty, and if the customer is having issues with the same parts, they can take care of those issues for him but he needs to bring the car back so they can find out what is going wrong.

Review: my boyfriend drove my car to free miles to have the transmission repaired (it would not go into overdrive)he signed a diagnostic services authorization which stated that it would cost 495.00 for the diagnostic and 895.00 to repair the transmission which included a basic overhaul covering all of the soft parts, seals, washer, gasket, bushing, bearing, steel clutch and update in the value body, with labor. The mechanic called me and said the price to fix the car was $2,100.00 because he found some other problem. I told him that I did not agree to that and could not afford it and that I would come and get the car. He informed me that it would cost me over 600.00 to get the car back because he had already taken the transmission out and sent it to his shop in newport news and explained that even if he put the old transmission back it would not run due to some problems he found. I called him later to ask if I brought my own transmission in would he put it in and we pay the labor and he said no but he could put me on a payment plan. I feel he misrepresented the price and he took the transmission out without my permission. Even though I did not sign anything I tried to work something out with free miles and was basically told you have to pay and that's that. Free Miles is dishonest and deceitful.Desired Settlement: since I did not sign any agreement,I would like free miles to put my old transmission back in at no cost and give me my car back.

Response:

On March 21, 2014 we received a call from this customer asking us for transmission information and pricing concerning his [redacted]. We asked him to bring in his vehicle to our shop for a free road test, free computer diagnostic test and free transmission check to help up properly identify his problem before we could make a price estimate. That same day, he brought in his car. He and [redacted] went together for a road test, where [redacted] heard noises from the left end, noises coming from exhaust and that the vehicle wasn’t going into overdrive which meant it needed transmission work. Our customer did say they wanted to keep the price at [redacted] or less. [redacted] quoted him ** for a basic overhaul that includes, seals, washer, gaskets, bushing, steel, clutch update in the valve body and labor. [redacted] Then explained that hard parts and electric parts would be an additional cost but there would be no way to determine if they were needed until the transmission was pulled out of the vehicle and they could not see what of, if any hard parts were damaged. Our customer signed our “internal diagnostic service authorization form” before he left which states that he was informed of additional charges and price estimates.
We called back for work authorization March 24, 2014, and told him that the transmission check and diagnostic test revealed he needed the transmission rebuilt kit with labor (already quoted on 3/21/14) $895 plus additional items which were needed to complete the mount of the transmission; Transmission Pump, Planetary Assembly, Torque Convertor, Fluid Filter, and a solenoid, all brand new parts with a 36 month/100,000 and 6 months/12,000 miles warranty together brings the subtotal to $2455 plus tax is $2580. Our customer chose to use remanufactured parts which dropped the total to $2100 with the same warranty. On top of the transmission, there were also problems with the axle and amount which needed to be replaced. [redacted] offered to order and repair these damaged parts as well if the customer wanted him too. The customer told us that they would bring s the parts themselves and to only work on the transmission.
On March 25, 2014 our customer made a complaint to the Revdex.com. The following morning, March 26, 2014, our customer came in and was very upset about the cost to rebuild his transmission. He wanted to speak with [redacted] took him into his office and again discussed the break down of parts and pricing to complete his transmission work. During this meeting our customer understood and agreed to the price and signed his signature in agreement. After the signed authorization we were able to order the necessary parts to start any complete the agreed transmission work.
Over the next three days the technicians completed the transmission work but we still hadn’t heard any word of the axel and the mount. After learning knowledge of the customer’s misunderstanding, [redacted] ordered and replaced the drive axel (which was brand new) and repaired the exhaust for free. Those two repairs elimated the notes “front end noises” during the initial road test and were a $[redacted] charge that were free to our customer.
After the weekend, the morning of March 31, 2014, I contacted the customer to notify him that his transmission work was finished and he could pick up his vehicle. He said he would pick it up the next day. As agreed, he came to pick up the [redacted] this morning, April 1, 2014. In a very angry and derogative demeanor, he requested to drive the vehicle and demanding financing information. He then test drove his vehicle with one of our technicians and said he was very pleased with the work. He came in and paid $[redacted] cash and walked out. Since this morning, he has been contacted via phone by [redacted] and seems be happy with the work done to his vehicle.
At Free miles Transmission, we are always looking for ways to elevate the standards and services we provide, and we appreciate any opportunity to hear from our customers. We sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding, confusion and headaches that this has caused.

I have reviewed the letter sent to you by Free Miles Transmission and Auto, while I agree to close my complaint against them I do not agree with their deceitful practice of quoting you one price and then charging you over twice the amount quoted and if you chose not to have the work done charging you 600.00 just to get your car back. I feel they were not up front and honest. I just hope they are more honest when it comes to standing by the warranty on the work they have done to my car.

Regards,

I have a 2007 [redacted] that is drivable but it needed some work done, I already had $2700 dollars that I put in this vehicle trying to get it right I saw his Web site it said his labor was $595 and they would fix problems in the transmission that my not need to be fully changed for another transmission I let them pick my car up around the first of this month and he told me he would have an answer to me my the 4th Monday, I took a ride over there to see how things were going to my surprise there was a lady the arguing with the manager about her car being their since Nov. He took me to the side and told me that she has electrical issues with her car so I left but my gut told me to cancel service, but he assured me that he would call me when they got my transmission out so they can tell me show me what's wrong with it, that call was suppose to be Tuesday 5th I had to call them and then he told me that I need a valve body which I already told him that I did but then he told me that there was a lot of damage and it needs an overhaul which cost the same amount that the lady was telling me that it cost her which was $3800 I kindly told him to put it back together and I'll get it the 6th he tried three times to get me to fix the problems but I kept telling him to put my car back together and I'll get it well long story short my car is still there because he keeps telling me tomorrow I had tech quit today on The 9th he had a tech sick and I suppose to be able to get this evening at 6:00pm but I know he's not done what can I do

Review: I have paid for my vehicle to be repaired a month & half ago I was told it would be ready in a week following the parts on back order the next two weeks they short handed but the transmission is ready to be put back into the vehicle the following I goes up to the shop because they keep telling me to call back or no one in to talk to me the manager tells me again the transmission is ready to be place in the vehicle I ask him let take a look he tells me to come back he's busy the next I called and he lied to me and told me they have to pit the transmission back together and I have two cars ahead of me we had a dispute about the lies he telling me now last week I call he tell me a part is on back order now I just remind you he told me the transmission is ready to be put in the vehicle I has paid this company the whole balance I should been gotten my vrchile back when they first got it they told me it would take 3 days not two months after you paidDesired Settlement: Refund of some of my money for the poor customer service that was provided

Review: I called their phone number provided in a advertisement on [redacted]. I asked "how much to rebuild a transmission" and gave the year, make and model of the car. The response was, 950. I responded with "I will be right there". Took it over, no one was there so I called the number again. was told to leave it on the lot and put the keys in the black truck box by the bay door. After numerous calls with no answer, I called the Virginia Beach business by the [redacted]e name to ask what was going on. After a couple days, I get a call back saying they are having problems with the city. A week later, I get a call saying to rebuild the transmission it will be 2800.00. I said " what happened to 950.00. he said "there was more damage". He then asked to work on it for a little bit and see what he can do about the price. A couple days later came back with 1800.00 I replied with "what happened to 950.00 he said there is more damage I replied with "can I get another transmission"? I was told sure. So I went to a friend who was swapping motors in the [redacted]e car, I got the motor and transmission called the shop and asked [redacted] if he was still at the shop. He said "hold up" there was a problem all the sudden with someone who didn't want me to bring another transmission into the shop. the next day my neighbor took the motor and transmission to the shop. The guys at the shop, had my neighbor, who knows nothing about transmissions, separate the motor and transmission. They got the transmission 4 days later called me and said the plug doesn't match. I went back to my friend to see if he still had the plug, a couple days later I talked to tony he said just forget the other transmission and rebuild what I have. I said OK for 950.00. He said no, but we finance. As he was going through the cost of the rebuild kit 495.oo and the syncros and fluids etc. I told him the syncros were in the trunk and the fluids are in the car on the passenger floorboard. he said OK that gets it down to 1500.00. I said OK, he sent me a "application for [redacted]" by email in the next two days. I responded, saying they have a horrible reputation, then the next day called up to see the status. I was told, we probably got your message and haven't responded yet. and gave me the name of Silverleaf and a guy named [redacted]. I talked to him and realized it wouldn't be a good choice and borrowed the additional 600.00 from a relative. Called Free Miles and told them go ahead and don't forget the bushing on the drive shaft. I have called every other day for the last three weeks been told everything from "we are having trouble getting parts" to today as its not going to be ready. This car was mint condition when brought over there, had never been left outside always covered. NOW, animals have left not only footprints but scratches on the car where they have been climbing on it and the car is in VERY poor condition.Desired Settlement: The car fixed in a timely manner and returned, preferably for the originally agreed upon price, as advertised.

Business

Response:

Revdex.com spoke with [redacted] from the company and he stated that the owner explained the diagnostics to the consumer and that the transmission has internal problems. [redacted] stated that the owner explained the process from here but the consumer wanted to drop off a transmission and it is hard for the company to warranty parts that are not theirs and the motor was attached to the transmission when it came to the shop. [redacted] said they did not use that transmission since it was not the correct one and they did the repairs and the consumer paid for the work.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

Review: Back in November 2014, we took me sons car there for a new transmission to be put in. The car is a [redacted] .They said that it would take a week initially. It took a month. The car started making a loud noise,we took it back a month ago they still have the car! Whenever we call they say next week, next week! We paid 2500 dollars for the repair. It supposedly includes a 100,000 thousand miles warranty on it. They advertise that the work is done 3 days. So I am thoroughly disgusted with them. I have called and asked to speak with a manager and they keep saying he is coming. I want to speak to the owner no one else. I hope that the southside location gets new managers, new supervisors, and quality mechanics.Desired Settlement: Some if not all my money back, or if the transmission has issues again. My money back! They admitted the wrong parts was up on the car the first time they repaired it!

Business

Response:

Spoke with the manager at the business who said that they had recently undergone and management change and are running behind, but they are working to resolve the customer's issues, and hope to have repairs completed on the vehicle by the beginning of next week.
