Warranty was canceled and the refund will be sent to the lender.

Contacted the customer and she was too busy to make her appointment. She said maybe this weekend and I gave her my cell number to let me know when she would be available.

Thank you for fixing my problem I'm very satisfy

the fees were paid by the dealership and the title was delivered. the customer is happy

I had asked specifically if corrosion had caused the issue. I was told specifically that corrosion was NOT the cause of the issue, and that it WAS checked. They told me a battery cell itself was bad. This was PROVEN to be false by further diagnosis and actual checking for corrosion. Another shop identified corrosion as the DEFINITE cause of the issue. They identified that the battery cell was 100% within Toyota specifications. Long story short, Toyota Direct did NOT check for corrosion, and then blatantly lied to me.aToyota Direct also NEVER stated before now that it was a Toyota brand recommendation (and not the dealer's recommendation), and I even asked specifically if it was theirs or toyota's recommendation.Refund is still the only acceptable resolution for me.

Mike Beargie

Sorry to hear you were unhappy but the vehicle was inspected and none of these issues were found. If you did have a problem and brought the vehicle back for us to inspect I may have been able to help if I could see for myself the issue. If you already repaired it without allowing me to inspect it I...

am sorry but I wont be willing to pay you for the repairs.

Toyota finally reached out to us and resolved the problem! Thank you again!

The vehicle was never listed on Toyotadirect.com for anything other than the $29,000 price and we did not raise the price after the customer visited our dealership. The price the customer had seen would have been from another site we don’t manage and most likely was toyotacertifed.com or car gurus?...

You can find the same used car listed on hundreds of websites so I don’t know but it was not our website.

*All prices are plus tax, license, title and $250 documentation fee. Prices may include manufacturer rebates and may not be combined with other offers or specials finance rates. Not once did I use foul or obscene language. I was VERY VERY calm, collect and punctual. And the customers that you are referring to actually stopped me and asked what happened as it was clear that they stepped outside because they too were questioning the ethics of your establishment as well. I explained to them what happened just as I have on several review sites. Clearly as a "General Manager" You did not read the email I sent you at all.  My main complaint was actually how poorly your sales staff treated me as a customer. I advised you to review the information I gave you about how I was treated, and suggested that you follow up with your sales staff about how to properly address situations like these. I did not ask for any other resolution. I don't plan on ever stepping foot in your dealership again, nor do I want to give you business based off of your poor ethics.  And as for the pricing mistake... The error was corrected while I was at the dealership. I actually had it pulled up when I was working with the first salesman.

The vehicle was inspected by our master hybrid tech and Toyota engineers were consulted to determine the vehicle needed a battery. The customer had a friend at a body shop look at it and say it did not need a hybrid battery. We did not maker the customer buy a new Kia that was her choice and we will...

not be refunding anything or paying her for the new car she purchased.

Normal time frame for a cancelation is 6 weeks. Spoke to the customer and the check is going out.

Our service department left a message about a week ago but no response from the customer.

Mrs [redacted] what issues do you have with the vehicle? We already machined the front rotors for you, replaced tires, and several other complaints you had were resolved. If you would like to bring it out and show me what is still an issue lease give me a call.

As I said before the hybrid battery is not to be serviced the correct repair is to replace it. Customer left a message for our service manager not to call him again to discuss that

The repair we recommended was the proper way to fix the issue. Toyota does not want the hybrid battery repaired but some shops will attempt to make repairs to them. You can find somebody other than a dealer to repair a vehicle cheaper but that does not make it the correct way to fix the issue.

We contacted the customer and explained the difference between APR and interest rate. They seem to be happy now.

I am rejecting this response because: Toyota direct is not claiming any responsibility for telling me that my car was unsalvageable.  I was told that I could not drive this car without purchasing a  $6,000.00 hybrid battery.  The response from Toyota direct upon hearing me say that my car started after only a simple jump on the regular battery and that subsequently I had two separate auto-body shops inspect the hybrid battery and both said that it checked out fine and has been driving ever since which seems to indicate that toyota direct was lying and had motive to do so.  I do not claim that they "MADE ME BUY A KIA"!  What I do claim is that I would not have never purchased ANY car if I had been aware that my toyota highlander was drivable.  How can they say that the other garages don't know what they are talking about when another toyota garage in Florida only two months prior had told me that I had another 100,000 miles left on it and that they had never seen a hybrid battery on any highlander go bad?  No I do not accept Toyota's flippant claim that they did not make me buy a Kia.  That is totally avoiding the issue of the fact that they are not taking any ownership of being deceitful or simply wrong and have cost me thousands of dollars that I need for my daughters college tuition.
Regards [redacted]

I am sorry but that is correct we cant submit a check a second time after it is returned from your bank. As far as canceling your gap we need a signed form so a visit to the dealership would be the best way to get this done.

the check was returned by the customers bank really nothing to do with Toyota DIrect. the gap was canceled all of this should be resolved.
