Dear Ms***,
I apologize if my timeline of events may have been off a bit, however I do not see any where in our system where it stated that you needed a panel upgrade, subsequently if a panel upgrade was needed, we would have pulled all the permits and scheduled everything with the city and pay for all fees associated with it. There were not substantial delays in your project that was outside of the time frame what we presented at time of sale and throughout the updating process. However, please contact Melissa at ###-###-#### to see how we may settle this complaint once and for all
Sincerely,

Dear Mr***,
Thank you for reaching out to us, I apologize for any delays that you have experienced but I can assure you that most delays were caused by actions that are directly outside of our control. I have reviewed your file and saw that we have been in constant contact
with you throughout the process of your project. I will have our production supervisor contact you directly today to answer any questions and address any concerns. We will also coordinate with you the best schedule to finish and set final inspection, but again final inspection requires coordinating with your local city or county planning dept thus there maybe a backlog in their schedules. On the matter of getting our voicemail, I'm a little confused as we have a live phone receptionist from AM to 4:PM during the week, you would only get the voicemail system if you're calling after hoursPlease confirm the times that you've been calling
I thank you again for your patience and we will get your project completed as fast as possible. We appreciate your business and will do everything possible to earn your satisfaction
Sincerely,

Hi,
We had in good faith tried to settle the claim with this customer and he refused, I'm not sure how to proceed as we are willing and wanting to close this case. It is standard practice to always include a settlement agreement when a financial settlement is offered. I'm not sure why this would be an issue
thank you,

Unfortunately, it is clear that Mr*** has not been brought up to speed on what has actually transpired regarding our solar. We did, in fact, sign a third-party waiver for GCI Solar to put us on time of use, so if it is GCI's claim that SCE does not do that, then GCI Solar made the mistake of misrepresenting themselves by asking us to sign the release so that they themselves could put us on time of use. We turned over our rebates and signed a contract stating that GCI Solar would handle the change-over with SCE. In fact, after many letters, emails and phone calls, *** and *** finally came to our home and met with all three of us purchasers in the neighborhood (as we all had the same problem) and offered us a settlement of $for not putting us on time of use like they were supposed to and also for the failure on their part causing our bill to accumulate unnecessary and unwarranted charges (under the condition that we sign over our rights to any future issues with the system, which was obviously unacceptable to all three of us), followed by an apology for not following through with the change-over because they claimed they were understaffed and someone dropped the ball on their end
In regards to the supposed "disgruntled rogue employee," it seems to me that GCI is upset that the third party they chose to check out these claims (along with, to my understanding, many other complaints with GCI Solar) is in agreement with the fact that the homes have been insufficiently paneled and improperly wired and monitored.
The fact remains that the contract was breached by GCI Solar and we no longer trust them and would like a third party to remove the system from our property. Please let us know when you have a third party chosen to remove this system from our home, as this is the only further communication that we will respond to. We have sufficient documentation to back up our claim, as do our other neighbors, and do not feel that emailing back and forth, especially with someone who is clearly not familiar with the details of this issue, will resolve anything

Dear Mr***,Thank you for reach out to us, we are always here to assist you with your questions? As you are have a contract with Sunnova Lease, you have a production guarantee that will be honored by that leasing company, this case Sunnova who will compensation you on any production
discrepancies if lower than what was promised on your contract? To my understanding they are working with you directly with you and at this point we're waiting for Sunnova on next steps? GCI Solar built the system according to their specifications and guidelines so I would suggest waiting for their feedback? I would suggest contacting Sunnova for an update and next steps, since we have already communicated with Sunnova on your behalf.? Thank you again.? Sincerely,? *** ***GCI Solar

Dear Mr[redacted], ? Thank you for your feedback, after an extensive and thorough investigation, we have dealt with the situation in the most serious and judicious way.? This is obvious NOT how we conduct business as we pride ourselves as being a high quality, ethical and morally bound
organization.? We have reinforced our strict guidelines on customer service and violations of our policies will result in penalties that lead to terminationWe apologize for your experience and we will send you a gift card to humbly apologize and thank you for bringing this to our attention? Sincerely, ? [redacted] GCI Solar

Dear Mr. [redacted],I have reviewed your case and it seems like you have spoken with a number of our team that have explained your solar plan to you already but with that said I'm happy to try to explain it again.Your Pre-Solar monthly average  electrical consumption was 1,128 kwh and your...

Pre-Solar SCE bill was a monthly average of $269. Your after solar monthly payments would $164.08 finance + $52.00 finance = $216.08 (saving
$53.00) thus saving approximately $636 on an annual basis.  If you do not increase in pre-solar consumption of 1,128 kwh your annual saving should grow year after year as SCE annual rate increases, your contract states a $0.18 per kwh with 0% escalator for 20
years.  So based upon this you would have been saving monthly UNLESS you have increased your consumption and based upon the information that you supplied it looks like you have.  In our notes you had indicated you had more people move in with you and thus the increase in consumption of additional electricity that the solar system wasn't designed to off-set.  Again based upon our files, you had asked about adding additional solar modules (panels) to your current system to off-set the increase but unfortunately the leasing company cannot do that.  We are a highly ethical company and would never do any bait and switch scenarios, if you would like to further discuss please call our Production Supervisor [redacted] and she will be more than happy to work with you and give you all the data and suggestions on reducing your consumption.I hope this answers your questions as we're always here to assist.Sincerely,[redacted] GCI Solar

Regards,
I want a printed copy of the contract between myself and the solar company.  When my first payment came out of my checking account it was for 145.70.  Next month it was 158.70 plus 13.00.  When I called they said they made a mistake and the payment should of been 158.70 I argued with them saying Mr. [redacted] was at my house till 10pm and we finally agreed on a payment of 145.70.  He left me no paper work.  I still don't have any paper work. I want a printed copy of the contract, not an email copy .  I asked where they got the 145.70 which was first payment taken out and no one had an answer.  Somewhere in that company there is a paper with my signature on it showing a payment of 145.70.  Everyone in riverside county that is putting in solar is having it put on their taxes.  When I asked Mr. [redacted] about this he said "oh that program is over and if there is any incentive GCI would be taking it".  I just feel I was not treated right and I am on social security and the payment of 145.70 is what I agreed to and I would never recommend this c0mpany to anyone I know.  Took them 2 month to fix the issue they claim is fixed.  I had to call several times. Finally Green finance took care of getting someone out here.
Sincerely

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Negotiations for this job started with a CGI representitive on Jan. 30, 2014.  Our goal was to be totally completed,  ie. finished by April 1, 2014 so we could go on a planned 3 week vacation in Utah and Colorado with friends. That is an 8 week window. 3 companies guaranteed us completion within that window. CGI gave us the best schedule. We stupidly and ignorantly chose CGI.
This business was chosen because they guaranteed us in a written contract that this job would be completed by March 16, 2014. I have it here signed if anyone wants to see it. It obviously means NOTHING to this company.   We had 2 other companies that guaranteed us an April 1, completion date for this same work. . We only took CGI because of their written guarantee to be finished on March 16. Not to start on March 19.  Please explain why the very first paperwork applicatiion for a work permit in El Cerr;ito was received by the El Cerrito officials on March 19, 2014.  The El Cerrito City Hall will verify this date as to when they first received the package from CGI to apply for this work to be done. I saw it, held it in my hands dated received March 19, 2014.  That is a full 6 weeks after we gave this company $2900.00 to get our job started.  6 weeks to apply for a work permit? That is, 3 days after the signed completion day for this job. This is fraud. This is false advertising.  This is a broken contract!    We have been waiting here since  March for this job to be completed. It is now June 1. This company is over 100% late on this job, This seems to mean nothing to CGI representitives. They have no schedule they seem to care about. Deadlines mean nothing to this company.. They have moved our work back, rescheduled it over and over on this job. We have been moved back in their schedule  line repeatedly by this company. How many jobs has this company started and completed since our guaranteed contract date? Quite a few I'm sure.
We had vacatiion plans in Utah and Colorado throught the month of April and into May. All cancelled because we have been on call for this LATE job to be finished since March 16,  2014.  Our entire spring, 4 months of our lives have been stripped, stolen from us because this company obviously doesn't care about schedules

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
It appears that [redacted] did not make himself familiar with the problem before responding. He is making false claims in his reply and is not proposing any resolve action or any sort of resolution. He claims that one of the delays was caused by our prior installed of a sub panel - that is untrue. My husband did not install an electrical sub-panel prior to the
solar installation. I was present during the first inspection and as
anyone can read in the permit correction notes, the installation
inspection failed for not installing up to code - including failure to
ground the system properly.
My husband did not install an electrical sub-panel prior to the solar installation. I was present during the first inspection and as anyone can read in the permit correction notes, the installation inspection failed for not installing up to code - including failure to ground the system properly.
Independently, GCI told us that we would need to upgrade our panel to meet the requirements of the new system and that that we needed to pull a permit for that. Before the inspector came, the GCI representative told us that the panel was fine - that it we should not have been told to upgrade the panel...that the permit was totally unnecessary. When the inspector showed up for the inspection, he said that since both permits had been pulled, he would need to inspect both the solar installation and panel. I explained that no work had been done on the panel - and he said that it didn't matter, since it had been pulled, it would need to be passed.
Many months prior to the solar installation, we installed a jet tub in one of our bathrooms, the tub required dedicated electrical from the panel. My husband had cut open the drywall when he installed the new electrical line to a new breaker in the panel - he did not patched the hole in the drywall when he was done. Nobody installed a new panel - The hole in the wall caused the panel to fail.
Has we not been told to pull the panel permit by your company, the inspector would have not been required to inspect it. It was a complete waste of time and money. Again, remember - the installation permit also failed on it's own, because the installation was not done to code. the inspector failed the installation permit and made correction notes during the first visit. The GCI installer had to make corrections before it would pass.
Last Friday, GCI representative, Melissa agreed to send me a check for the $240 to cover the unnecessary permit cost, but I really do not think that is enough to satisfy the problem. I wasted a good amount of my time keeping the project on track because the GCI office staff failed to do so - causing delays with every step. As a result of the delays caused by GCI (not PG&E), I had a complete system installed that I was unable to see any benefits from for months. I gave GCI $29500 for this job, I'm sure that a portion of that was supposed to cover the cost of project management - since GCI failed to manage the project with any aptitude, I believe that they owe me a portion of that back to (in part) cover the costs incurred during the time that we were unable to use the system.

GCI didi not say they intend to refer to the DNC List before cold calling others.  I will therefore make a complaint about GCI to the FTC.

Dear Mr. [redacted],I'm not understanding your reason for rejecting our resolution, we adhere by all DNC rules and will be happy to send you a copy of our DNC policy if you like, please confirm.Sincerely,[redacted]GCI Solar
