Geico filed aclaim against my account that I specifically told them not to file because the two 3 inch scratches on the bottom rear of my car were to be fixed by me. Three days later they filed the claim based on the review at my home address. The adjuster stated he reviewed the claim at my home address and in fact he was never there and reviewed it at *** in Ocala fla.. I believe this fraudulent claim was purposely file on my account to increase my premiums.

Dear ***:

Thank you for your letter dated July 12, 2018 regarding the above file number.

On March 21, 2018, our claims department received a call from our insured who advised that his vehicle was parked and unoccupied when sideswiped. During the call, the insured handed his phone to a GEICO Auto Damage Adjuster who was also at the Auto Body shop where the insured's vehicle was located. The Auto Damage Adjuster explained that he could complete an estimate of the vehicle damages, and that the appointment just needed to be scheduled in the system.

An estimate was completed on March 21, 2018, and the vehicle damage totaled $416.98. At the time of the estimate, the GEICO Auto Damage Adjuster secured photographs of the 2017 ***, as well as photos of the title of the vehicle.

A payment in the amount of $166.98 was issued to the insured, subtracting his $250.00 collision deductible. The payment that was issued on March 21, 2018 was never cashed.

On July 2, 2018, our insured called and advised that he never received the payment. During the call, he was advised that we would stop payment of the initial check, and he would be reissued a new check in the amount of $166.98. The second draft of $166.98 was issued on July 3, 2018. The claim that details this incident appears to have been filed correctly as our insured has a responsibility to advise GEICO of all damages to his vehicle while it is actively insured on a GEICO-issued policy. Based on the details of the loss as provided by the insured, he was placed not at-fault for this loss, and his damages were handled correctly under his collision coverage.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact Anna W, Liability Director, at .

Very truly yours,

Ryan W.

I have change cars 3 times this years due to breakdowns. Finally me and my significant other went to a car dealership. Mind you our month insurance bill is liability only $116 I have been with gieco 8 years. So we get the new car and geico quoted me 240 a month. So I went on thinking it was just 240 a month. I recently check the bill that is due next month and it was quoted $644 a month. I contacted geico and here was their reason: Because you were billed your next bill the day you bought your new car and inorder for you to be covered on the new policy you must finish paying your old policy from your old vehicle. The old vehicle I had traded in to get the new vehicle. They said they were going to send me information on it thru email which I have et to see. I have bought many cars over the past few months and I have never had to finish paying the policy for the past vehicle I have gotten rid of until now. I am currently looking for a better insurance company/

I’ve had Geico almost 2 years. I have always lived in PA I put in a claim and for two years I have been paying between 76-90 dollars. After I put in the claim I found my bill to be 766 dollars. I called Geico. They told me they ran a consumer report and my address stated Florida which doesn’t make sense because I gave them a pa license. After 45 min on the phone they tell me I have to pay to have two proofs of residency to get them to put it back to normal. So on top of my bill I have to pay to send them something they didn’t have the right to change in the first place and you’d think they would have the courtesy to tell me about it before they change.

Dear ***:

Thank you for your 07/07/18 email regarding ***'s complaint. Mr. N asked that I respond on his behalf, and I welcome the opportunity.

Information we have shows *** lives in Florida, not in Pennsylvania. A driver's license is not proof of residency. We have advised *** of the documents that are acceptable proof of residency. I hope this information is helpful.

Very poor company - their claim handling is terrible - they jump to conclusion without investigating - very unprofessional agents - if you get into a car accident they will try to put you at fault.

Called in to switch payment information after switching banks, made a payment over the phone, and received a cancellation letter in the mail a week later. Called back and they had "no record" of my initial call, and required a massive premium to "reinstate" the auto policy. When I asked to speak to a supervisor to figure it out, I was hung up on. Switching back to AAA if they don't resolve this.

I took my family rv to *** in Rancho Cordova Ca, for brakes the day after I called and spoke to a “***” at the shop who confirmed he could replace my rv brakes. Next day “***” I spoke with was off and I had to explain to assistant manager *** about my situation. *** had his employees check my brakes thoroughly before concluding he (***) felt unsafe to install brakes on my rv. I called and had another tow truck Company to tow our rv to another brake shop. After tow truck driver arrived, *** employee drives my rv (with prior knowledge of rv brakes on metal to metal) and crashes into the tow truck , so hard it broke the boom of the tow truck and tweaking my rv frame. We called our insurance Geico to let them know of the damage done by *** employee that geico takes over and is refusing to help my family and I out. Robert A our adjuster had been so rude and unprofessional towards us that I recorded him, and have hard evidence that A is not working for us the insures. A has declined our request to be replaced by another, more customer friendly adjuster but A stated we can’t get a second opinion. But upon speaking to Ross G (A***’s big boss) we can get a second opinion. We as Geico a insures are homeless now that Geico and *** haven’t expidited this family emergency. We need help In addressing this issue because we are gettin the run around by Geico and are homeless because of this incident that wasn’t our fault. Please investigate and help us. Sincerely The *** Family

GEICO Response • Jul 12, 2018

Dear ***:

Thank you for your recent inquiry.

We completed an inspection of ***’s RV at *** on June 8, 2018, and informed him that the damage on the front reinforcement bar, frame, and windshield seals did not correlate with the collision impact on the front bumper due to the amount of rust on the impact bar and frame and excessive wear and tear to the windshield seals. A denial letter was mailed to *** on June 19, 2018, formally explaining this decision.

Per ***’s conversation with Auto Damage Manager Ross G, this loss is under investigation and an accident reconstruction is currently underway to either confirm or overturn our current denial of these parts as unrelated to the accident. Once completed, we will notify *** of the results.

At his discretion, *** may take his vehicle to any shop of his choice for repairs. A payment was issued to his chosen body shop, ***, on June 8, 2018, for the damages to the front bumper.

Regarding concerns with the vehicle being uninhabitable while under repair, a payment of $701.34 for hotel expenses was issued on June 29, 2018.

If you have any further questions, please contact Ross G, Claims Manager, at .

Sincerely,

On June 16 I purchased a policy from Geico. Initial payment was $383.00. The vehicle I was set to buy turned out to have problems so I never bought the car or drove it off the lot. I canceled the policy within the hour of purchasing it. I then called Geico on June 20th to see what the status was on my refund. I was told that it had to go through the cancellation process and that itnwas set to be released on June 21st. I called back that Friday June 22nd and was told that they tried to put my funds back on the debit card that I purchased the policy with but my would not allow them to do that. The guy told be that they mailed me out a check that same day, June 22nd, and that it was being sent from the state of Virginia. It is now June 29th and I have still not received my refund check. I called today June 29th and spoke with a manager by the name of Shanice. She told me there is nothing at all they can do. The only thing they can do she said is if the check does not come by July 7th, is they can cancel the check and mail me out a new one. This is not what one would expect from one of the largest auto insurer's in the world. The funds were extracted from my account within seconds! But now I must wait over 2 weeks to receive my refund for a policy that wasn't even active for more than an hour?

I been with Geico for 2 years.
Geico started out great than they became very difficult to work with
My daughter was involved hit and run accident she was in the hospital lost time from work . My Auto damage Adjuster was change no phone call I had to contact them because the car was just sitting there. They're treating my daughter like it was her fault
I had to pay to have paper sent to them because they stated it would take two weeks for me to receive it in the mail. The Salvage Adjusters Medical Examiner are not helping at all. I were told it going to take several months before this claims is completed. They sent a email stating I could retain a lawyer. We should not be treated badly for something that wasn't my fault I faithfully pay my insurance but when I need them I'm treated like garbage IT'S SAD

I bought the coverage from November to May, at the end of the coverage I found a better deal and got that, I didn't renew my Geico coverage. Yet, they extended my coverage without my authorization and keep asking me for renewal. Now they sent me a bill for $109 for the time they extended my coverage ( without my permission ) and report to the DMV that they cancel my coverage, now I have to prove to DMV for new coverage. These guys are doing shady business trying to force people into either paying them or get screwed. I will never deal with these guys again, even if their rate is lower in the future.

I have been insured with GEICO for over 10 years and I filed my first claim on 6/14/2018 only to be told I was going to be investigate for a total cost of repairs $816.53 after my $500.00 deductible net cost $316.53. I was hit or something, I am not sure what happened because it happened so fast. Driving on a highway, traffic moving at 65-70 MPH . I thought my tire blew out, and someone said an SUV hit me and kept going, I was concerned about my LIFE at the time, not getting a person's phone number. I was hit a few years ago and the person who hit me, their insurance paid for my repairs and my rental, yet Christina 972-207-2452 is tell me to produce a 2 to 3-year-old bill to ensure the repairs were made. I am paying this company almost $200.00 per month for full coverage insurance, who do they think I am to not get my care repaired. I am livid with Kelly Reed License and Christina for playing with my intelligence. They sent me to Caliber only to send me away without a rental or repairs.

I reported a claim since my car hit the fallen rocks so both wheel and tire of the front right needs to be replaced. The claim was transferred to several damage adjusters (from Bill to Scott and finally to Joe Hamilton) which took almost a week. And Joe went to inspect the car and just tried to lower the price for ordering and replacing the wheel and tire so it would be lower than my 1000 deductible limit. The cost reported by the workshop to replace the wheel and tire with the types that match my car and are same as the other three tires would cost more than 1000 including the labor fee. But this guy, joe, he reported the estimate summary to $490 by recommending me the tires and wheels that does not even match the color of my original wheel!!! And when I asked him what the factory and brand the tire is, he said he is not familiar with that, he didn't know what exactly it is!!!!! That's so rediculous and is that how the GEICO's damage adjuster works??? I couldn't believe that's what a damage adjuster said. How could you send a person that doens't care about fixing the car, doesn't care about if the cheap one would cause any problems ,doesn't care about my safety but just want to recommend the tires and wheels that's cheap enough to escape from 1000 dedcutible limit? GEICO really disappointmed me!!!!!!!
I think what I am asking for makes sense right? I just want to replace the tire and wheel with the same one as the other three and I will pay for 1000 and GEICo pay for the rest, I didn't ask for more that!!! That's what it is based on my auto insurance. And this guy now even didn't answer my call. I called the GEICO service several times trying to contact him or at least send another adjuster to inspect the situation and the service person just said you have to contact him. How could GEICO be like so irresponsable!!!!

I recently had a hit and run incident and immediately called Geico, even before I called the police, to report the incident. They were closed. It was around 3 PM California time and the Commercial branch of Geico was closed. I couldn't believe what I heard. I am paying outrageous prices to suffer a lack of availability? Seriously?

So I wait until MONDAY (incident happened on Friday) to report the incident. The smug and condescending "agent," did everything he could to find a reason to deny me any claim whatsoever. Remember, this was a hit and run, the woman was on her phone, she dipped into my car, and RAN AWAY. I had her license plate number because she got caught at a red light, but no additional information. The agent, sounding proud of himself and as though he was delighted to "stick it to me," announced that he determined the incident was entirely my fault because I had my turn signal on to reenter the lane the phone driver was in. I couldn't believe what I heard.

I really, couldn't believe at all, what I heard. He had to repeat it a few times before it sank in that I was literally only paying this company, this outrageous rate, simply to prevent the police from stealing my car in a regular traffic stop.

Sadly, it is Geico and Mercury that are offering rideshare riders on their policies so I'm stuck. Mercury seems to be equivalent. Compounding the overt exploitation of the whole rideshare idea, these companies are simply kicking the desperate and disadvantaged in the face while we're down.

I have nothing good to say about Geico and I feel, that in cooperation with the police, through threat of violence and theft, they are extorting me for around 250 a month.

Fraud. We noticed an $ increase in our policy and called Geico. They explained that our licenses was suspended in the state of Oregon while we live in California. The problem was that we sold our car in California that we bought in Oregon and did not report it to Oregon DMV. We actually reported the sale to the California DMV and to Geico, but not California DMV nor Geico shared that information with Oregon. (Interesting, Geico knew that we sold the car but did not bother to inform Oregon about that and started charging us extra while knowing the situation). Right after we found out about that issue we called Oregon DMV and filed all needed paperwork to remove that suspension. After we received the report from Oregon with cleared record we emailed copies to Geico immediately. When we called Geico informing that we submitted the cleared record they assured us that it will take 2-5 business days to fix the payment amount. One months later we looked at our policy and nothing have been changed. Moreover they revised our policy and made no correction if not even increased the installment. We called Geico again, they asked when and how we submitted our paperwork with cleared records. After 30 minutes on the phone, they finally found our email and told us that nobody even looked at this email and it was our fault that we did not contact Geico to confirm they received these paperwork from us. That is immature because we have received the confirmation over the phone right after we sent all paperwork, but obviously the process to follow up with submitted documents is not important to Geico's the same as to us. They are lightning fast to charge more, but very stubborn to do otherwise. In this case that is totally illegal and we are currently working on the lawsuit against Geico to help millions of people to have justice and protection from Geico fraudulent core business who are being abused by that scam-service daily and for many years. Geico company is no better than any terrorist organizations except they are abusing innocent people by grabbing people's hard-earned money and feeding some Government channels to get away with the fraud.

I have been with Geico for about two yrs now and had not had a prob until today. I requested a quote through the app to how much would it be to add my son and his car to my policy. Instead of giving me a quote, I receive an email saying ......We received your quote request to add Rykei and a 2016 Nissan to your policy.
Since your policy automatically extends coverage to regular operators of your vehicle(s), we have added Rykei to your policy effective 07/01/2018.....that is not what I asked I simply wanted a quote. I called and spoke with several agents but to no avail they said they couldn’t remove him from my policy. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. I spoke with Dawn. I explained once again it was only a quote, I need him removed from the policy. Again I was told they had to have proof that he has insurance with another company before they could remove him. That is their policy when someone request a quote they automatically place them on the policy. She said she don’t make the rules set by their company she only have to inforce them. SMH, My point I didn’t ask for them to add him in the first place. He has no insurance that’s why I requested the quote. My premium went from $202 every 6months to....(copy and pasted remark) Your new premium is $931.39.
Please note that we have only added Rykei at this time.
If we were to complete the other change(s) listed above your new premium would be $4,251.14.
I am sooooo upset and disappointed right now. I have decided to cancel my policy all together and go somewhere else.

COMPANY: GEICO Indemnity Company

Dear ***:
This is in response to your email of June 18, 2018 addressed to Tony N.

On June 5, 2018, *** called our Emergency Road Service Department to request assistance with a tire change related to his boat. ***’ GEICO policy covers his 2002 *** and he does not have any trailers listed. Therefore, we were not able to assist him. *** does not have a boat owner’s policy with GEICO. If he has a boat owner’s policy with another company, he may be able to seek reimbursement from them.

On June 15, 2018, while traveling in Texas, *** called to have his 2002 *** towed. Unfortunately, our premier tower, ***, was having staffing issues and had no driver available to assist him. We contacted two additional non-contracted providers, but they declined the call because they would not accept our billing. We sincerely regret that we were unable to locate anyone to assist ***. If he had an out of pocket expense for the tow, and will furnish us with a copy of the paid receipt, we will be glad to reimburse him for the tow. He can email the paid receipt to ***@geico.com or fax the receipt to .

We have attempted to reach *** by phone to discuss this situation, but we were unable to make contact. We are unable to back date the removal of his Emergency Road Service Coverage as he requested, and we have agreed to reimburse him his out of pocket expense for the tow. We sincerely hope he chooses not to remove this valuable yet inexpensive coverage from his policy.

It certainly is not our intent to leave any of our customers stranded without providing assistance, and we sincerely apologize that we were unable to provide the tow that he requested.

We trust that this information is sufficient to allow you to close out the complaint. If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding this issue, please feel free to call my associate, Barbara Collins, at , extension ***.

Careful with Geico. I had them two different times. Never had issues the first time. The second time I did.
I was hit in a parking lot by a gypsy scam artist and she called Geico when I would not give her the cash for her non existent repairs. Geico called me to get my side of the story. I gave it to them and they said they would investigate it but were working hard for me. They said they had to interview the other party. I told them she would not call them back, that she was just trying to get my attention to give her cash. Well she never called them back, so they placed me at blame when there was no money paid out and no damage done to either one of our cars and I explained to them it was a scam. No matter what I said, they would not remove there decission. The girl never returned there call either.
That claim although there was no money paid out has raised my rates everywhere at least 600.00 to almost 1000.00 everywhere I've called for insurance. Not to mention when I've applied for work where I needed to use there car for work and be on there car insurance the claim came up and they did not hire me because of the claim and it would raise there rates as well.
I have filed a complaint with our state commissioner board of Ins. but I have no idea what will come of it. Geico has a way of sticking it to you. I have read since then that is what they do.
Then I needed to pay my bill and I was actually short not even 1/4 of the amount. They gave me an extension of 2 days. of the cancellation notice. I was told on the phone that they could take my money but if I did not have the entire amount my policy would still cancel and they would hate to take my money if I could not come up with the entire amount. That I might want to look into to getting other insurance so I don't have a lapse in coverage. That is exactly what I did. I had no other choice. Come to find out I found cheaper coverage which I had been looking since they closed the claim and no one was cheaper.
When I got my last billing and cancellation notice, they cancelled it the 5th instead of the extension of the 7th that they told me I had on the phone. They told me even if they taped my conversation and the Rep told me I would not be cancelled until the 7th at 11:59 they would not honor it. They told me we know you tried to honor your payment and make it. The notes in our system even say that you were just a little bit short and we were unable to take the payment, but we can't honor the date the Rep told you on the phone regardless.
This company is not trust worthy. Get everything they say to you in writing from them. I don't care if they tell you they sneezed and your paperwork has an I instead of T. Do not settle for General letters either.
This company does not like to hand over your company files either that you are involved with. They will not give me any information on my claim without a court order. They only gave me my taped interviewed.
I honestly can't believe with everything that Warren Buffett says about integrity that I believe him now with owning a company that does shady business like this.
There's a special place somewhere for people like this. My teenage daughter and I both have our lic. and cars on that policy. I'm a single mom and barely make ends meet as it is. I use to look up to Warren Buffett but Geico is owned by his company and treats their customers with no respect. It's all about the money to them.
I can't believe a word he says and it just goes to show a wolf in sheep clothing.
The 2 star is for the customer service department. They actually are good. They can't make decisions sadly and actually seem to care. To bad he doesn't allow them to have more control as they seem like normal people with normal lives and scruples. They could teach his upper management something.

Geico Auto Insurance doubled my rate in two years . Every two or three months they raise my rate by $2 or $3 hoping I would not notice or would not care -- eventually doubling my payments. There have been no claims, no issues, so I called and ask why the rate increase.. Geico explained it was very expensive to fix vehicles in Wisconsin. It is a scam that I have seen before - start with a very low rate, then increase the rate hoping customers will stay with you.
